I really enjoyed the earlier Final Fantasy games, especially VI. That said, I am loving XII so far.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
@ Omna & Arguas:
Congratulations to you both on your one year anniversary, I hope that you both had a great day together!

Congrats on becomming regular of the week
@ Sephiroth Owa:
It has been a pleasure knowing you sir, may you find in death the absence of Photon Eater, who is going to come down upon you like Wrath of God in life.
@ Alacar:
Thanks for the heads-up on the re-vote
Also, I hope that Heather will get well soon
@ Psychoburner:
I fully agree with you; FFVI is a great game, certainly up there in the top few of Best RGP's Ever.
I've never played Final Fantasy games. And honestly, the Final Fantasy fanboys (especially those of VII) scare me off from the series.
I just got back from a College Democrats meeting and I was told to attend some Israel political conference because a bunch of big-name politicians should be there. I emailed the college Hillel asking if I could RSVP and I'm crossing my fingers for them to say yes. We had cake at the meeting too.
Also! The Forums Awards seem to be (finally!) over, so I'd like to congratulate Mamelon for winning Best Debater and tying with kcw for Nicest Member, Yukora for winning Best Clan Member, and PurpleD for tying (?) for Best Colosseum Poster. Congratulations!
Thanks for the congrats. The whole thing has been a gong show... I'm not sure if there's going to be a re-vote or if in fact, sen won legitimately. Or perhaps we could be co-winners (i'd be fine with that).
@ Omna & Arguas: Congratulations to you both on your one year anniversary, I hope that you both had a great day together! @ Yukora: Congrats on winning the trophy sir! - J.

Well I guess with the 12th installment in the series, Square finally got it in their heads that their focus market was not interested in easier games anymore. They'd had at least 10 previous games in the Square library that were relatively easy.
I already voted for Mamelon, and proudly too I wouldn't think of voting for anyone else
So yeah, now that I know how good XII is I plan on getting my hands on it. I'll probably wind up with it after it goes to $20, unfortunately, but it'll be worth the wait.

Official Character Sheet Shredder of DAMNIT
DAMNIT: I should never have to shred my own character sheet in frustration.
I voted for Mamelon as well. KCW is a funny guy, but he's not exactly a nice person. He's got two awards as well.
Camping for the PS3, Purple? Pht. I'm a Nintendo fanboy, and while that's a stigma these days, I'm not afraid to admit it. Plus Sony looks like it's going to whiff big time with this one. They've made a lot of idiotic decisions, and they know people will buy it because it's got "PlayStation" on it. Remember, Nintendo once fell, and it can happen to Sony too. I'll be sure to post the VGCats comic that makes light of this situation.
Speaking of camping for the PS3, the president of my school's College Democrats said he's going to camp for one and then sell it on eBay because he's broke and needs money. I called him a capitalist rat bastard (as a joke, of course). Seriously, though, I really don't find that cool at all.
@ PurpleD:
I wonder what will happen with regards to the Best Colo Poster award
@ Mamelon:
Congrats on winning Best Debater
I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Nicest Member award
@ All:
I'm going to get some sleep. I need it. Good luck, good night, good bye!

@ Yukora:
A lot of people have been saying that and while I'm sure KCW is a great guy, I for one have never been able to get this impression from any of his posts. I have only your word and the word of others for it. Those sarcastic posts have not been 'a few', rather they have been 'a lot'.
Now, perhaps I'm not reading the right posts in the right forums. If so, please feel free to point them out to me, because I'm under the impression that I'm missing something here.
To avoid miscommunication, I'm not trying to attack anyone with the above statement, I merely wish to see what so many people are seeing, but which I am apparently missing.
Thanks go out to Dreia, Crimson Avatar's better-looking half, for her vote.
And every time I IM somebody to get them to vote, they always ask the same question: "How the hell did KCW get Nicest Member??" That's saying something right there.
Tell me, out of a few of this sarcastic posts, have you ever really talked with the man?
I voted for mamelon but you do have a point in all this but I'm going on what I've seen from him in these forums and NOT in IM's or otherwise. He's certainly a funny person and what not but he doesn't show that good/nice side of him at all here from what I see of him (and only what I see of him - I'm not gonna go on another's word). Of course everyone sees things differently... (note campaigning in siggy - biased I am!)
But that's a small aside - congrats on post number 1K on this thread Yukora
Let's not talk ill of kingcobweb, folks. For one, it's discourteous to speak about people when they aren't around.
Also, kingcobweb does have a lot of friends. That counts for something, at the very least. I don't know him well, myself, but he deserves the nomination as much as anyone.
@Janus: Thanks for the congratulations.

I wasn't trying to talk ill of him. He's actually kinda cool from what I do see of his posts. I don't actually know him beyond that so I'm not gonna say that he's evil or elsewise either.

I fully agree and hold no ill towards kingcobweb, I'm just curious as to the nature of this large gap between opinions.
Wow. It's been forever and a half since I posted here, being a new person and all. I promise to try and catch up. Congrats to the winners!!
Update on me in case anyone is interested...
I just finished my first term at the university I'm currently attending. Cramming 16 weeks into 10 and workin my butt off was not a smart idea. Fall term and the tax season (I work in the tax department) go hand-in-hand and it makes for long stressful days. The next term starts November 28th and I'm taking 20 credit hours and working 22 hours. Needless to say, I've been incredibly busy with that. I just bought a laptop (fully customized thanks to Crimson ), and that should definitely speed up homework a bit.
Bowling started up again too, and I must say I'm nt doing too well. It's ok, because the season runs all the way until April.
The last bit of news...my best friend in the whole world is getting married, and I'm the Maid of Honor. The wedding is this coming summer and I'm helping them plan it and everything. It's exciting. I'm not too sure about wearing a dress and looking all sexy and whatnot, but it's worth it for them.
I've missed you and and look forward to hopefully becoming a more frequent face around here. Hugs and smiles all around!!
Hello everyone me and kevin would like to say goodnight to the people of coffeehouse but both of us will be posting in here tommorrow. Thanks for welcoming kevin back janus i am sure he would appreciate it.;)
Yes congrats on your debate award mamelon.:)
Goodnight everyone and i hope everyone has a good day tommorrow. *hugs everyone in the coffeehouse*

Dammit, people, don't get into a video game discussion and then go a long time without letting me reply =P
@FF: Yeah, I know it has a large fanbase and it's popular. In America. And like I said before, I've played and enjoyed them all...but some more than others. I shy away from FF7, 8, and 10 because I just don't like them as much (except FF10's combat system, that was awesome). It's the same story over and over again with prettier and prettier characters and it just gets old.
PurpleD, it's funny that you thought I was complaining about the length of the game when in fact I was lauding it. I generally take points off of a game if it takes me less than thirty-five hours to get through, and even that's pushing it. I love Kuzunoha Raidou but it's too damned short. I conquered that thing in thirty hours. I got through an RPG in THIRTY bloody hours. Come on, people.
@FF6: It's the earmark of the series, I think. Or one of them; FF12 is definitely one now. It had the most dynamic cast, a flexible ability system that still left characters with individual identities, kick-ass music from before Uematsu went flat, a memorable story, and it boasted a long play time. Everything I want in a game. Imagine my dismay when I played through FF7...*sigh*
Enough with the gaming rant. I'm too tired to continue and already working on next week's Underdog. Not to mention I've probably offended some of you people by now. *Waves a Dragon Quest flag*
@Yukora: I wish you could make sense some time. People are allowed to have different opinions from your own. Seriously.
Eh-hem.
Congrats to Omna and Arguas on your anniversary.
This time in life caused me to look at my own relationshsip, and last saturday was the marker of one year, and three months with me and Megan.
Also, thanks to whoever mentioned my winning Best Clan Member

The only ones I loved have been VII, X, and XII
As for FF, I REALLY wanna get XII. My favorite, still? X. Tidus was the Luke Skywalker of FFs, but that battle system was flawless.

I, too, have been pleasantly surprised by XII. It's a lot harder than I expected. It reminds me more and more of Tactics each time I play it.
