Well, I've got history books to read tomorrow (or today, I think) so I'm going to hit the sack (again). I took a big long nap earlier and it helped me get this cold dealt with. But I need to get some official rest.
I expect an overwhelming response when I wake up later!
Also good morning to everyone else getting ready to go to early morning clinicals. I am going to turn in my resume and my cover letter today to apply as a intern at the hospital I am doing my clinicals at then going to apply probably tonight or something. I will see you all later. Have a good day everyone!
Welcome back Alacar! Nice of you to put the SDA user card here to honor her memory. I'm sure she'll be back.
Today I think I might have my PowerPoint presentation for my religion class. It all depends on whether the other ones go long or not. After that it's a four-hour nap for me, then my first-year seminar. Tomorrow I get to pick out my classes for next semester.
Yes, Ryan got home safely.. Turns out he was talking to his professor about a previous programming project that he made a grevious spelling error on which implied he didn't test it, which he swore he did... G2 stuff, apparently.. and the guy who's been mooching off of him all quarter and caused him to get a dishonesty note in his file (he gave the guy the code to review, but the guy USED Ryan's code...grr) most likely failed the course... (the idiotic guy, not Ryan)
and so he was rather upset about the mistake... but I cheered him up by giving him the rose, a bag of his favorite fruit snacks, and a recent special edition about the Prohets; US News and World Reports.. he liked it quite a bit and the evening went nicely until we were right b4 bed, we got in a little bit of an argument..... I swore I wasn't going to fight w/ him last night too I'm kind of disappointed in myself.. it kind of happened and I just couldnt' let it go.. i have the hardest time w/ that... as a result I may be losing my chance to really make this work....
But anyway.. I'm heading back over to his apartment now to do HeroQuest w/ him and his roommates and then after that, I will be hanging out w/ him, playing Kingdom Hearts FINALLY ...!!!! Sooo happy about that... and then he needs to study and i'll either hang around the apartment reading my book or playing games or go to work from 2-4.. also depends on how miserable the weather is lol...
anyway, best of luck Sephiroth wi/ that.. my mom and i always got into those nasty fights ... they're never fun. I have kind of the explosive temper, and when someone else says smething or does something to make me react, that makes it even worse, especially if they react to my initial reaction... and it goes around in a chain reaction... lol.
@SO - I know it sucks, but you're going to have to eat it and do what's necessary to get back in the good graces of your father; you can't live with someone with whom you have a literally violent animosity. That said, if this is a long-term or recurring problem, you want to look for outside help.
On Shakespeare: I've found that I have a really hard time appreciating Shakespeare when reading it. I generally understand the language, but still it's so different that it's next to impossible to grasp all the subtle things his works are crammed with. Seeing Shakespeare on film or on the stage really brings it to life for me. I read The Tempest; didn't get it. I absolutely adore Baz Lurhman's Romeo & Juliet (i.e., the one with Leonardo DiCapprio, Claire Danes and John Leguzamo). Mel Gibson's Hamlet was incredible, due in no small part to the genius of Glen Close. I liked MacBeth but only one part is really memorable for me. If I had to pick a favorite I guess it would have to be A Midsummer Night's Dream since it's the only Shakespeare I've performed and it was a blast.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
Shakespeare is definitely better when you watch it. I liked the Laurence Olivier version of King Lear, and I saw the World War II-era movie version of Richard III, in which Ian McKellan is nothing short of amazing in. I performed a small part in Hamlet with a girls' school that my old high school does drama with.
@Sephiroth: Geez... that's a tough situation with your dad. That's a bad thing that he complained about, but your reaction was just as bad. Parents can kick you out for much less: I was AIM chatting with a girl that I met over three years ago skiing in Massachusetts and she told me that her parents kicked her out for violating an 8:30 curfew, which she never violated before (she was watching a movie). Be prepared for a ****storm.
Currently I'm in my room getting ready to download the new Tenacious D album. Jack Black is the man. My sister loves him like most girls love Brad Pitt.
@Shakespeare - Agreed. While the plays read pretty well, they were intended to be seen performed. It's shocking how amazing and vivid the plays are when actually performed. (Not that the plays are boring in book form, they just don't spark the same, at least for me.) It's like some kind of magic; I can read an extended analogy spoken by a character in Shakespeare and have no idea what they're talking about, and then see the same thing on video and it seems so poetic and deep and relevant.
Glad to see things aren't as bad as they could've been, Omna I hope you have fun today!
Sephiroth: If the HugaTron were here, he'd give you a big hug. *HugaTron pops up and gives Sephiroth Owa a big hug. Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Remember the compliments you recieve. Forget the insults. There will be a time when your father remembers his love for you. Don't forget that.
As good as Shakespear's plays are, they're getting a bit old with me, because I've been studying him for what seems like forever. It's just getting old. The teaches beat this in so much that's it's overkill. :slant:
I have a band concert tonight. It's always really hot on stage because of all the lights, and we're all wearing tuxes from marching band. This will be fun...
Aah! I just got back from training, and I feel great!
* Janus orders a glass of OJ
@ FL:
Good to hear it
I gave the pizza to Shadowfox, seeing as how he was the one that ordered it
@ Shakespeare:
I like a lot of the pieces written by the Poet, and I enjoy both reading them and watching them being performed in equal measure. I think that 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is probably my most favorite piece (it has faeries).
I loved Midsummer Night's Dream. That's my favorite of his plays. I watched it acted out as a high school play, but it wasn't really done any justice. I'm currently reading Hamlet, but I've only gotten as far as scene one, so there's a lot to go. faeries
Oh, I forgot to welcome back Alacar in my last post. Good to see you back from suspension.
Currently I'm listening to the new Tenacious D album that I purchased off of iTunes (yeah, I buy my music... sue me). It's awesome. Jack Black is the man.
Hah, Alacar, you just reminded me I still haven't finished my Unhinged collection... It's missing a Super Secret Tech and about 90 odd foils. Still no foil Little Girl, either. For some reason everyone else bought up those things.
Well, I'm off for the "weekend", and I plan on going back up to WSU tomorrow. It's finals week, and we always watch good stuff (read: the most mind-numbing so-bad-it's-good stuff imaginable) on finals week. This time, we're watching Otaku no Video, a mock-u-mentary about the founding of Gainax. In particular, it features a guy who rigs up an electronic lens setup just so he can sort-of unblur the pixelation on his porn. LMAO.
(Random Cultural Fact: Japanese porn is infamous for having all the choice bits censored out by a pixelated blur)
Before that, I have some banners to work on, though. Seems like there's never enough time in the day for all the things I want to do.
Welcome back, Alacar! Good to see you. *Serves TT her black currant tea and Janus a glass of OJ.*
As for Shakespeare, I don't think I've ever read any of his works. I guess my HS teachers didn't feel like doing it. I'm not much of a reader anyway. But, I'm sure I'll dip into it in college.
@Pizza: There used to be a really good pizza place where I used to live, but they had to tear it down for construction of other buildings around it. It should be back in business though, so I'm happy. You can't wrong with the following on a pizza: pepperoni, extra cheese, sausage, chicken, bacon bits. I usually like to put some garlic, onion and oregano on to top it off along with some hot sauce. Mmmmm....good.
@Mr.Stuff: Curse those blur'd bits. I must find this lens you speak of. If I can't find it, I'll have to construct it somehow...
I understand where you are coming from. I have had a difficult relationship with my father in the past. No matter what happens, though, he is still your father and a member of your family. I hope both of you can remember that, and I hope you can improve your relationship

DAMNIT: I should never have to shred my own character sheet in frustration.

Sounds like death. Better not eat too much of that. Personally my favorite topping on a pizza is chicken. It either comes breaded or with fresh slices.
Tomorrow I'm going to choose my schedule for next semester! My ideal schedule is:
COM 231: Documentary Research
COM 240: Methods of Film and Video Analysis
ESC 111: Topics in Environmental Science
PHL 104: Philosophy East and West
SPN 204: Intermediate Spanish II
Hopefully I won't have to fall back on my reserve courses, because one of them is Calculus II. Bleh.
Sounds like death. Better not eat too much of that. Personally my favorite topping on a pizza is chicken. It either comes breaded or with fresh slices.
Well, I can't say that I've ever eaten a slice with all those things on it, but that'd be one hell of a last slice! Usually, whenever we order out for pizza, we just get plain most of the time and I just put the last three things on it. And I made an error in that list. It supposed to be oregano and garlic and onion powder. I can't stand onions that much otherwise.
By the way, that slice of pizza you mentioned... I'd really like to try that some day I have a pretty solid stomach, perhaps I can handle it.

@ All:
I'm going to get some sleep. Good luck, good night, good bye!
Sephiroth Owa: I'm sorry about what happened between you and your father. It's never easy having fights with people, and it's terrible that he won't just resolve it with you. It often seems like less of a pain just to ignore what happened and go on, but generally it's better to have a catharsis and make up. Hopefully he will be more receptive to that soon.
SnoopDoggAtog: What made you feel this way? As we all have different ways of communicating, and sometimes we don't always appear toward others in the manner we'd wish. I've also had times when people thought I was angry or defensive when I didn't mean to be.
Even if there are times when you seem irritated, you are always a very helpful person. You do seem to be a bit more direct and to the point than some. And I recall some incidents when I thought you were angry about something when you really weren't (I usually attributed this to oversensitivity on my part). This does tend to happen on the internet, to be sure. If you really feel it may be because of your own behavior, perhaps all you can do is step back and observe yourself sometimes and see if it's really what you are saying, or if others are overreacting or misinterpreting.
The mere fact that you are concerned about it speaks of something. You do have a lot of negativity in yoru life to cope with, and trying to hide it forever is certainly a burden. This may sound weird, but, maybe if you complained about it more openly, you'd feel better about it?
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Oh, that reminds me... If you wanna see the kind of stuff we watch Finals week (ie. stuff that should never be watched by a normal person... ever), I made a playlist on youtube that has a series of openings from terrible, terrible anime. If you want to scar your mind terribly check it out, it's here:
Just so this isn't spam, it also appears that every single one of those videos in my playlist has been removed due to a terms of use violation. WTF. Time to go visit google video, I guess.
