Tales of Symphonia is an exceptional game in an exceptional series. The main reason I want to play Tales of the Abyss is because the entirety of the Symphonia team worked on it. Although...no Tales of game will have as awesome a soundtrack as Legendia. Oh my G.
I've only played one Tales game, Tales of Phantasia (SNES). I found that game incredible, but a little too difficult perhaps. I was at lvl 99, had max HP and TP (technical points), and the best achievable weapon/armor, yet I still struggled like hell against the last boss, Dhaos.

How is it that I'll sleep for 10 hours if I go to sleep at 1 pm, but I'll only sleep for 6 if I go to bed at 9 pm? It baffles me completely.
Sephiroth with the Lionheart, eh? That's an interesting one. I think I beat him with... 3 elixers? I had, like, two of those abilities that convert damage to MP, so that every time he hit me hard I could heal myself again. When you get quick on your feet, you don't even need the elixers, because Sin Harvest can be interrupted.
Mind, I haven't played Kingdom Hearts (the original) since I beat the game originally, since my disk screwed up. I think I have the stuff to clean it up, though, and, if so, I'll probably beat it again soon on hard mode, then go through Kingdom Hearts II again and try to get 100% completion on both. I know enough about the games to do so. (I'm at about 97% on KHII. Just a few Colosseum things to get for Jiminy's Journal. They are a PAIN!)
MW: If you find a place that makes you spew venom (and I know how debate can be), just back off for a bit. Game of the Week or whatever: Ugh. Kingdom Hearts. Prince of the Games I Wish I Hadn't Spent Money On.
Well, I am still working on Christmas, but only for 2 hours in the early morning, so I'm feeling less annoyed by all of that- and hopefully, in the next couple of hours, I'll have some other stuff taken care of, too.
I seriously need to get moving on my Christmas shopping. So far, I've only actually gotten a present for my younger sister (FFIII DS), and I've yet to pick anything up for anyone else. I may try and do it tonight, or maybe tomorrow while Mamelon is at work... I don't know. I can't remember the last time I've waited so long to get my Christmas stuff done. I don't even have my tree up yet, and honestly, I find myself with very little desire to drag out all the decorations and put them up. It just feels like a hassle- putting all that stuff up so what, no one but my and the people I live with can see them, and then take them down again?
Hey, I post in Debate...
As does Mamelon, SnoopdoggAtog, and a variety of other intelligent members.
Oh, I know there's plenty of intelligent members. But from what I've seen from debates, for every intelligent debater, there's three who will make you tear your hair out.
As for work... I sort of wish I was working fright now, instead of staying home. It's starting to get a bit boring, to tell you the absolute truth, but I can't do much about it until we finally get the move done. Which will be on Monday and Tuesday, so hopes my mom.

@christmas: It's been hard to get in the spirit of things and I kinda wish I hadn't committed to some of the social things going on. Because after a while it gets to be more of a chore. If you want to have the tree up, Photon, try to enlist help around the house. If nobody seems up to helping you with the tree, I would kindly add that you're in favor of forgoing the chores part of the holiday, no malice aforethought.
Maybe a couple boughs of pine or spruce hung over the door or pinned to a bulletin board, to give the room that christmasey smell. Lord knows you can find plenty of castoff branches at the local store where callous tree shoppers have pared away the lowest branches and left them for the boxboys to clean up.
I live in a basement, and nobody ever comes over to see me, because it's a tiny cramped dank basement, so no sense in putting up any decorations. But most of my loved ones and friends live far away, so I have to really scramble and push hard to get my Christmas shopping done two weeks ahead of time, so they will arrive before Xmas. I personally dont mind if a gift comes late in the mail, but I know people for whom this is very important, so hustle hustle hustle!
The worse thing for me is having to attend the office Christmas party as a second-thought invitee. I really don't want to use my one car day (borrowing from roommate) to go all the way out of the county to spend another six hours with people who share none of my interests, besides making money. Problem is, I've asked the boss for a favor that he's distinctly grudging about giving. It would be really bad to offend him in any way right now.
@debate: I try my best not to get sucked into a debate thread because inevitably the loudest morons drown out everyone else with their army of strawmen and canned rhetoric that they learned from their parents or their freshman sociology class. I also miss Furor, he usually had a sharp eye for that sort of thing.
@Debate: Truth be told, I've been the one acting like the idiot in there as of late. I agree, though, that most other users can be complete morons (Green Arrow, anyone?), and I usually try and keep a level head there. It's just sometimes I let emotion get to me.
@Work: I'm all finished writing my paper, and all I need to do is site some more sources and finish the bibliography. Also today was my second (and last) final, for Spanish. I think I did well on it, better than my Media and Society final anyway.

Hey, shut up, Green Arrow was an amazingly intelligent poster- intelligent enough to get Hillary Clinton coming after him! :xd:
Oh what the hell, that deserves another :xd:.
Yeah, reading over that thread, I think I can say that the next time you get a check up, you can tell your doctor to skip the part where he checks your reflexes- it looks like your knee is capable of jerking just fine.
I understand how you can get swept up in the emotional aspect of the argument, because I have a habit of doing the same thing- so I find it best just to avoid those types of discussions. For example, I tend to try and avoid any sort of gay rights/gay marriage debates, because I usually end up smashing a beer bottle over a table and gunning for blood about 20 minutes in... so instead of just rehashing all those negative feelings, I just choose to abstain.
Well, I'm in a fairly good mood at the moment. Things are settling down a good deal around here, and I'll be off work around 2:30 today. I have to run to another appointment here in a second, but then it'll almost be time for me to come home!

The problem with christmas trees is that I'm allergic to the sap. So we couldn't even have a sprig of real tree in here because I'd go all apopleptic and probably die. Merry Christmas, Photon!
It's not that I don't want the tree up (we have a fake one that's actually pretty nice), but I'm just feeling extremely noncommittal toward Christmas this year. There doesn't seem to be anything to look forward to. And hey hey! I do pretty much a hundred percent of the chores around here, so even if Photon wanted to do them himself, I wouldn't dream of making him lift a finger, thankyouverymuch.
In other news, the big big problem that came in the mail is all gone, and we're both feeling better for it. Thanks to Mamelon's generosity, everything worked out in a timely fashion and nothing bad is gonna go happen. This is good news.
See, no. Because me having to pay for a Christmas gift doesn't exactly count as the person giving it to me. So there.
I definitely want a Wii before Dragon Quest Swords comes out, because the screenshots have me very intrigued and I'm all excited about any new DQ game, like, ever.
@Real Christmas trees: There's this girl that I know who's allergic to practically everything (she once got tested for 40 allergens and she was allergic to all but 2 of them). Pine is one of them. She told me that she had to miss one of her classes because the classroom was cleaned with pine. She couldn't sit near the Christmas tree in the main cafeteria because it's a pine tree. She's pretty allergic to pine, among other things.
I just finished up my ten-page paper! Now all I need to do is hand it in to my professor/put it in her mailbox. I'm glad that class is over.
I have to finish a very large essay task within tomorrow. Some classmates have written 40+ computer-written pages. Me? Page 3... Agh, I better not hang around here and instead start writing more, or my grades will plummet. BUT-IT-IS-BORING! Oh why, why didn't I start on it earlier...
Quote from Sephiroth Owa »
Shall probably be up til 4 tomorrow morning doing it though :/
40+ pages? Geez, that's tough, especially considering you're on page 3. The thing that I do with papers is that I start a week or two before it's actually due, and then I chip away at it steadily. That way, I don't get stressed, and I don't have to do a whole bunch of work near the due date. It's a good compromise between procrastination and good studying, I'd say.
Generally what I would do is start it as soon as it's assigned. The faster you're finished with it, the less you have to worry about it. Works for me, at least *shrug*
Buh...Thursdays are boring. Xenogears would be keeping me entertained, but I'm at my absolute least favorite part of the game (Nortune D Block) so it isn't helping much. I want Maria and Emeralda in my party =P
40+ pages? Geez, that's tough, especially considering you're on page 3.
40 pages are for the crazy guys, I find 15 to be reasonable... But it's still very long left. Finished two more pages now, but that makes 10 to go.

I'd love to be able to do that as well, because it's obviously the best to do. But I can't make myself do stuff I don't want to before I really need it, so I always delay things until I'm about to run out of time. Happens every time we get an essay like this, and I hate it. I hate myself for it, but I usually get it done though.
I remember one time, though, when I was in the same situation as I am now - I had one day left to finish the essay, and I wrote for, I think it was like seven hours, and then, late at night, when I was really tired, but happy that I was finally finished, the writer messed up. And I had no internet connection, no USB-key, so I couldn't print it out at school either.
I tend to do all my school work the day before, without real exception. And usually I do quite well. Odd, no?
Well, 36 hours into Zelda, getting ready to head into the final stage of the game. I finally found the third bomb bag (and got the BIG bomb bag), got the huge quiver, got the giant wallet... Now I'm just working on hearts. Yeah, the hard part. There's several puzzles involved (thank you oracle!) that I just can't figure out. Eh.
Good afternoon everyone! I am probably not going to post that much today not until tonight anyway because I will be hanging out with one of my friends throughout the day me and him are going to go to the card shop i might buy some magic cards well maybe. As well as play xbox 360 and ps2.
@debates: Yeah i guess i am not intelligent because i don't post in the debate forums. Ive only posted about 3-4 times and that was about it for me.:)
I am just all about helping people in the legacy forums though making competitive legacy decks.
Well I am going to get off mtgs for several hours i will be back later tonight though. See you all later and take care everyone!
*Sigh* I just cannot get excited about Zelda anymore. Like I said, the main reason I want a Wii right now is more Dragon Quest goodness. Not to mention being able to play DQ1-4 on the virtual console. Yuji Horii is a very smart man, putting all his money on Nintendo =)
Sony's turning into a company comprised entirely of copycats, anyway. Seems they've put two new products into action recently: a motion sensitive controller that they say is "completely original" and an online service where PSP owners can download PsX games for play on the handheld. Sound familiar at all? Yeah. Of course, this is historically the way it's always been; Nintendo or Sega have always been the innovators in terms of gaming technology, and other companies have been content to ride their coattails for decades now.
@Debate: I completely ignore it, myself. Never-ending conjecture only serves to irritate me, and I'm not at all pleasant when I'm irritated.
Ether, I may not have as much knowledge of gaming history as you do, so if something I say is wrong, please, by all means, correct me. I am absolutely certain you are correct in your statement, and here's a few pieces of evidence;
Light gun: Nintendo, as of Duck Hunt
Digital buttons-only game pad: Nintendo
The entire platform genre: Nintendo, as of Donkey Kong
In-game Easter Eggs and secrets: Nintendo, as of the original Super Mario Bros.
Memory save technology to save your game: Nintendo, as of Legend of Zelda
Totally non-linear game-play: nintendo, as of Zelda and Metroid
Consistant, reliable, long-lived wireless controllers: Nintendo, as of the Wavebird
Force-feedback rumble function: Nintendo, as of the Rumble Pak
Analog gamepad tech: Nintendo, as of the Nintendo 64
Shoulder buttons: Nintendo
And, last but not least, motion sensitive controllers: NINTENDO!
The only console game tech that wasn't Nintendo's first, was the CD format for games. AND if you look at it, how much time does their first foray (the Gamecube), waste on loading screens? not much
Nintendo, last in power, first in innovation

Actually, Nintendo was going to do CD format before the Gamecube. I think around the N64 time? I think they went in with Phillips to do the games, and then had a big problem.
Dual shock came about after the 64. The original PS1 controller was all digital. It's okay though, 'cause like you said, you may have gotten them there in a different order than we did in the states.

You're pretty much on the dot there, Psychoburner. The only thing is the analog controller; Sega did it first with the NiGHTS package. But they only beat Nintendo by about four months, so hey =)
Nintendo was going to do a CD format first, yeah. They'd planned for the N64 to have a re-writable CD drive peripheral; you can see the port for it on the bottom of your console, those of you who still have N64s lying around. In fact, the original Mother 3 back in 1997 was supposed to be the 64DD's launch title, but alas. Actually, the 64DD was being developed by Sony, but Nintendo pulled out because the project was hemmoraging money and Sony took their technology to its own labs for some tweaking. Thus the Playstation was born. Just think...if the 64DD had been developed as planned, Nintendo would have been the ruler of the CD gaming industry, not Sony. Imagine that, hehe.
