And Sene, I like white, actually... it can be boring (which is what i thought at first) but as time has gone on I actually like it a lot... my personality itself is more of a RG, but I hate hate the Gruul... so that's why I reeeeeeally hate to state that about myself. However, my fave colors are RBW, as i mentioned... which ironically, the way I typed it, is Ryan's initials lol.
Sephiroth, i loooooooooooooooooooved the card!! Can you change the name tho? (so its not the same as Alacar's set) Then we can put them in the second post along with the Diabolical Cappucino Machine, and Evil Spelling Monkey and all that other stuff hehe...
Anyway I just finished the Justification for Artifact for the senior thesis proposal... I have to get skedaddling to class in a few minutes but I wanted to ramble on bout some stuff here (as I have been doing )
Anyway... I have a lot of reading to do which I haven't done yet.. yeep.. but I will work on that this afternoon while i eat.
And crap, I realized I need to do a Personality Inventory Analysis for my Organizational Behavior class... well good thing I have an hour in between my meeting and my class to do that stuff.
Have a good day everybody, I need to get going to Art History... i may or may not be back later tonight, depends on what's going on with the party.
EDIT: Hehehe.... *nervous chuckle* Thanks for the tips Alacar Anyway, really headin' out
White is anything but boring! But then, I'm not one of the masses of people who is easily charmed by Red's ability to be nothing but burn spells and goblins 85% of the time, or Blue and Black's ability to try and ride the very horse they beat to death.

Amen to that. Next to blue, white is my favorite color. I love how it can match red and green in the creature races (and even beat them) while still able to defeat black with powerful removal and big beatsticks. Serra Angel is still one of my favorite cards, is still one of the most efficient creatures in Magic, and is going into my Core Set.
Different people, different opinions. I find damage-prevention and weenies far from amusing, while I really like blue. I actually like counterspells (in particular Force Spike, Daze, and Spell Snare) and combo (Mind's Desire!), but I don't like mono-blue. I like blue teamed up with black, red, and/or green.
I like blue, too, but I also find it to be incredibly dull as a stand alone color. If the various colors of Magic were people, blue would totally be some know-it-all nerd with a stick up his ass. And probably a Star Trek fan.
The thing about color is that they all get more interesting in conjunction with other colors- well, except maybe green, which is sort of the doormat of the 5 colors. That's probably just because green doesn't really have a monopoly on it's own role within the color pie- sure, it has good mana acceleration and the most efficient fatties, but when it pairs with another color, typically all green does is make the other colors it's with work and look better.

I just woke up, and my roommate is leaving because he's done with all of his finals. Wish I could be so lucky. I'm planning to finish my paper today, which will give me time to study for my Spanish final.
Edit: Got the 3100th post without even knowing it! *Takes :cookie:*
Well if I don't add Meloku, what Kamigawa blue legend should I add?
I also need 1 more black legend, and as funny as it would be, Baron Sengir is being excluded.
Yeah, Keiga would be nice- although, a bit off-color for Blue to have an iconic dragon in a Core set, even if it is an expert Core set. If not Keiga, there is always Uyo, Silent Prophet.
Alright, no Baron, but if that decision makes my boyfriend sad, I'm socially obligated to kick the crap out of you.
But yeah, Braids. Josh would be happy with Braids. A lot of people would be happy with Braids. Hell, I would be happy with Braids- that chica is CRAZY.

Hey, everybody. Getting ready for another day. Hope you all have a good one.
I hope today will be better for me. I was actually really down in the dumps yesterday (are you suprised?), so I hope I can get through it, today. My throat hurts really bad this morning (it's been sore and dry all week), so I'm not looking forward to eight hours full of non-stop talking.
@.Moneen.: I know how you feel about being ignored. I even feel like it sometimes. It takes a while before it'll seem like people are really paying attention to you. Sorry you felt bad.
Meh that's fine give it a week or two untill I establish myself as a non-n00b as I only have 725-30 posts right now ( yay for custom )
Garge salt water(warm) I have throat problems very very often i'm going in for surgury sometime in january I just got the call from Dr.Wang :p:(
Well, as far as I am concerned, post count is irrelevant, but establishing yourself within the community is an important part of feeling accepted- but even then, you get ignored from time to time. I'm all over the damn Coffeehouse, and have been since the day of it's creation, and there are times when I feel passed over completely, too (even as brash and outspoken as I can be). Try not to take it personally, and don't be afraid to reiterate a point you have made that may have been overlooked.
Of course, there are some people who judge based on post count, but I would like to think that this is not one of those places.

I feel that eventully I will become noticed amongst the others here on mtgsalvation.
By honestly the mroe noticed memebers on salvation all have high post counts I post a lot yes for sure but for some reason it jsut feels if my post count isn't big enough people ignore you.
But there is so much traffic here I can understnad how posts get over looked sometimes.

Well, being noticed isn't always what it is cracked up to be. For example, I have a relatively large post count, but I still consider myself to be something of an unknown. Meanwhile, there are plenty of members with relatively low post counts that are more in the public eye- and being there is not always the best place to be (for example, look at the whole Tneill debaucle. Had he not been striving for attention, the whole drama of the situation would have been most likely ignored, and invariably less dramatic.)
However, even then, I would rather just be a quality poster who people enjoying conversing and interacting with than being a ubiquitous presence on the site.
And again, it's true, some people just overlook new people or people with low counts, but I think part of that may be that the site is a community- and people within communities tend to place place people who are familiar and part of their social circle above newcomers.
Another reason people with high post counts tend to be noticed is that, quite simply, they have been around longer, and thus they have established themselves in the eyes of the community. For example, SnoopDoggAtog- she's been around for quite a while, so when she posts, people tend to assume she knows what she is talking about (since she's proved that she has on more than one occasions), and make a point to read what she has written. Meanwhile, a newer person may make just as valid as a point, but it's just part of human nature for a person to go with what they know first, and err on the side of experience.
Just hang in there, and stay friendly (or at least charmingly witty), and people will notice you.
When I judge based on post count, it's often a negative judgement of people who've been around for six weeks and somehow have a kjillion posts. It takes time to get established in any subforum (though I don't see why people care so much about being recognized anyway). One memorable post that says something establishes someone much more solidly than a bjillion that say little. (Well, it establishes someone as the guy who makes posts that don't say anything.)
I'd say no on Meloku. I'd be wary of including too many cards that helped define their own blocks and standards; these power guys will tend to overshadow anything esle interesting you're trying to do. Uyo is a good choice for Kamigawa blue legend, as is Kami of the Crescent Moon or Kira, Great Glass-Spinner.
Here's what I would pick for the other colors (Kamigawa legends)
White - 8.5
Black - Kiku
Red - Ryusei
Green, - Azusa, Lost but Seeking <- I love this card
Black legend? Most people have never played with Cao Cao, Lord of Wei, a very cruel card. Shauku has more story relevance, and is also splashy.
Hello everyone! How is everyone's day so far? Mines has been good ive been getting alot of sleep alot more then i usually do when clinicals come along. I am just glad that i dont have clinicals not until next fall which is a long time from now but thats because i had a very low student evualation on my clinical performance which is bad but I am just still kind of upset that the clinical coordinator would give me a low evaluation but anyway at least all i need to do is write a letter to the program director then i can get right back in the program.
@moneen: i will be your friend moneen. Yeah I know how you feel too moneen alot of people used to ignore me on the coffeehouse well except of a couple of people but I think the best way to get noticed is to reply to what other people say when they post and be friendly about it. Who knows maybe someday you and somebody else could be against each other in the final votes for nicest mtgs member just like with kingcobweb vs. mamelon. But our dear mamelon won it by a long shot. I am not saying that it will happen but you never know with this forum.
Well anyways i am going to go for a little while i will see you all soon. *hugs everyone in the coffeehouse* I hope everyone is having a good week so far.:)
Actually, Alacar, if you're going for any black legend I'm going to vote loudly and as much as possible for Kiku. She's a great character who never saw half as much play as she should, and she's just damn cool.
Shauku...is broken. I don't really care to argue that point. Just look at her >_<;;
On color: I find blue and white to be terribly boring, myself, for the very reasons that Photon doesn't like blue/black. No more on this, because it'll earn people's ire, but needless to say white AND blue's mechanics really bother me.
Moneen: I have yet to make myself truly known to MTGSalvation, but I have carved out a reputation among where I am known. I dunno what it is though
Photon: I'm sorry to yer boyfriend.. but Sengir is too expensive. That's the only reason.
Joyd, and the legend discussion: Ink-Eyes, and Kiku are looking good.. Yukora is too.. dangerous. Also.. No Legendary Dragon Spirits. As much as I love to use Jugan, Yosei would dwarf Serra Angel and Kokusho + Academy = crazy. (Dance of Faces, anyone?)
I will consider Azusa, however.
Keep in mind that the Kamigawa Legends and the Weatherlight crew are all the Legends I can fit in the Core Set.
Just got to level 7 on WoW, close to 8.. all these quests! I'ma have to look up help on locating what I need to do. I hate running around aimlessly.
Well, Baron Sengir would only be great in a standard environment with a lot of vampires. And that'll never happen ~_~;;
I'm going to really push Kiku here, because she's great removal and just a really stylish card. Actually, Toshi would be a good choice too, what with the huge graveyard theme of recent sets. Imagine him in a flashback deck; all your other instants have flashback as well.
A hefty no to Yukora, because he's too insular mechanically. He'd cause way too much chaos due to his triggered ability, and nobody would want to play him. Hell, I had a playset from the time he showed up in Kamigawa block and I still didn't want to play him =P
I think the dragon spirits would be good, but not all of them. Ryusei and Jugan would be good choices because they're not format-breaking, but they're powerful in their own right, and red/green could always use a couple of flyers.
Hey all...just checking in while finishing up my english speech...who would have known that writing a actuation speech on buying a laptop computer would be such a hard topic to talk/write about.
I also got my PSAT back today, I guess i did good...did good for the fact that I went there on 3 hours sleep half caffeined up and completely out of it...I got my goal of 200 over by 1 (yay 201!)
Also...was I the only one who didnt have a problem with Sephirtoh in KH? It wasnt that hard, i just hit away and got away from his good attacks. Now in KH2 I had more problems...but im not really sure why.
As for a Blue Legend... I liked Kaiga. Uyo was a fun little thing in limited as well...won me a few games. Also, Azami was an underrated IMO card that was a decent card drawer (Would be better if it wasnt UUU in cost.)
Edit: You got WoW Alacar? At least you didnt get addicted yet... I was somewhat of an addict, but not as bad as I used to be at it. I still play, but only like 2-3 every few days.
