The Magic Coffeehouse is an Overclan that acknowledges that we all are social creatures, and actually like to talk about various things with other people. Here, you can come in, get yourself some coffee, a cookie, or some cake, and just chat a bit with the people around us. And, unlike one of those coffeehouses down the street, this one doesn’t cost you anything! We promote a friendly atmosphere, and never turn down civil customers!
The Magic Coffeehouse was founded on April 19, 2006, by Arguas2617 and Omna15. It is an overclan that promotes friendly, spam-free discussion on a multitude of topics, while providing a comfortable circle of friends.
To join up with the Coffeehouse, merely post something about yourself that you’d like everyone to share, and perhaps talk about. We don’t like to make anyone feel isolated, as we are just looking for good friends tied together by the common thread of Magic. You can also post requests for drafts forming or start various other groupings of your choosing. Anyone can be a casual customer, but to be a Regular you must come around often, chat clearly and avoid spamming. Spamming is not allowed in the Coffeehouse!

EDIT: I had seven huge-ass sections to do on my paper.. now i'm down to the biggies, with 3 1/2 left!! Here we GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and with T-Minus 6 hours left!! ...and i'm setting it up where I can do each section in 2 hours )
One thing I just discovered is that if I set a specific time limit for myself with chunks of it, and turn off AIM and MTGS and Facebook I can achieve my goals rather well!!

Speaking of geek mp3s, I just got The Black Mages albums. I'm barely into track 3 and I'm giddy as a schoolgirl. This is really good stuff. Like REALLY good.

Well now... I'm 5 down, two more sections left to go... One's kind of going to be a killer... I don't really know what he expects... and then i'm going to want to do some fiddling with some of the others before I wrap everything up completely...but first two of those need to be done... then fiddling, then I can finally BREATHE! Sooo close..
*sigh* My shower was ice cold.. I couldn't stand it, so I ran down the hall in only a towel at 5:30am figuring that nobody would want a shower at that ungodly hour, so i took the hall shower whihc nobody except the rooms w/o showers are supposed to use... but thank God it had hot water... not nearly as hot as Ryan's apartment but still hot water
Now I'm fritzing a little about the citations and the conclusion of my research proposal paper.... its only 6am which leaves me 3 hours to do all of it, less than that if Arguas gets up early enough to call and meet me for breakfast That sounds SO nice right now actually.. i'd love to eat breakfast with him all the more incentive to finish early!! That is, if he gets up early..

@Cheers: Good show, yeah. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid. I really, really prefer Frasier, though. It's more intelligent and the humour is a lot more raucous.
Oh man, speaking of Geek Mp3s, I really need to catch up with Music to Game By in Natural 20! I have at least three games I want to feature. Might post some Kuzunoha Raidou today, if I have the time.
Yep, me too. I'm a total Frasier addict (slowly picking up all the seasons on DVD as they're released over here). I love the fact that a character who violates pretty much all the criteria for a sitcom lead became the longest-running sitcom character going. It also (and this is going to sound ridiculously arrogant) feels like a sitcom that's pitched at my level, rather than lowest common denominator. I like silly opera-based puns to go with my sexual innuendoes, dammit!
I feel the same way! There's only so much of the usual pratfalling and fat jokes I can take before a typical sitcom kind of gets to me, but Frasier always had really good material that was incredibly funny while still managing to be intelligent. I was really sad to see it go when it did, because I hadn't been able to watch the last season or so, but luckily they syndicated it on Lifetime (of all networks), so when we get the cable back on I'm all about that ^__^;;
So for the first time in my near-24 years, I properly dyed my hair last night. It's gone from a fairly dark brown to a pretty severe black with a bluish tinge. It's partly done because I'm going to see Lordi tonight and wanted to goth up for it, but I felt like changing my hair anyway. I've also got blue nails at the moment, and nobody at work has commented on either of them yet. I'm not sure if that's good or very bad...
Whoo, go black hair! I used to dye mine black regularly, but it kind of fried it for a while. My hair is only now what one would consider healthy, but I loved the color so much. Photon doesn't think it'd look good on me, but he'd never seen me that way, now has he? =P
Nail polish on guys = tech. I used to wear it every day in high school (along with black makeup, what was I thinking O_o;;) and it just grew on me. It's funny...some habits of mine would heavily suggest that I'm into gender-bending, but I'm actually a man's man.

Backstory: I don't really drink caffeine. Sometimes I have tea, but that's about it. I've never had coffee before in my life; I hate the way it smells. Anyway, last night, last night I accidentally grabbed a cup of some sort of Cappuchino thing from the dispenser in the dining hall, mistaking it for cocoa. (It's cold up here.) Rather than waste it, I decided to at least try it, and since it wasn't that bad, I drank it. (That much sugar can make anything taste okay, I guess.) Thing is, normally when I have caffeine, it totally weirds me over, (I can't 'hold my caffeine') but I felt fine, and I didn't have any trouble sleeping, though I woke up at six this morning.
Also: Woot, new thread.
Also: Talkin' about jobs. I work in the Audio/Video Production support lab on campus, and I really like it. (It's mostly handling equipment, filming, helping staff, students and faculty use equipment, stuff like that.) I like my job, but I've been offered a position in the Computer Science department on campus, which I think would also be cool. (I would either be a grader or a lab assistant.) There's another incentive to working there; a huge number of the student workers at the A/V lab are off campus this term. If I found another position, then one more of them could have his or her job back when they returned this winter. Hmmmm... (Right now the plan is to split my work hours between them, haha.)
Sigh... not all the topics... But for example Halloween, it isn't celebrated or anything here, so I can't really say anything about it Anyways, I want fun topics now... Is anyone good in cooking over here?
Well, considering the topic of Halloween was just BARELY brought up, I doubt you'll have much of a problem.
I like cooking, but I can't say that I am all that good, really. I made a really killer almond-parmesan chicken the other, week, though.

I used to play the original Sims before it went to that crap known as Sims 2. Quite a fun little timewaster. There's nothing like the sweet smell of success - as a thief/criminal.
@Bully: First: Canis Canem Edit? Who the **** thinks of these alternate titles for different demographics? Second: I'm not gonna bother with buying that one. When one is used to the GTA, toning it down a notch on the violence level just makes it more boring. Besides, half the fun of GTA, for me anyway, was just driving around and doing random stunts/drive-bys. Oh and trying to steal the tanks. That's always fun. I'll probably give it a rent next month tho just to say I tried it.

The love thing: OK, so on Saturday, I got kicked out of a frat party for pretty much no reason. I went to my friend's room and met with a couple of friends. I talked to one of the girls and she said she'd talk to one of the frat guys about kicking me out. When she was about to leave, she said "I love you." Now that got me thinking: how much weight do you think that has under these circumstances, and should I follow up on it?

EDIT: I had seven huge-ass sections to do on my paper.. now i'm down to the biggies, with 3 1/2 left!! Here we GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and with T-Minus 6 hours left!! ...and i'm setting it up where I can do each section in 2 hours
One thing I just discovered is that if I set a specific time limit for myself with chunks of it, and turn off AIM and MTGS and Facebook I can achieve my goals rather well!!

Speaking of geek mp3s, I just got The Black Mages albums. I'm barely into track 3 and I'm giddy as a schoolgirl. This is really good stuff. Like REALLY good.
Oh and Alacar, if its not too much trouble, could you make a user card for me? I'll see if I can get a better picture for it and perhaps brainstorm some ideas.
Well now... I'm 5 down, two more sections left to go... One's kind of going to be a killer... I don't really know what he expects... and then i'm going to want to do some fiddling with some of the others before I wrap everything up completely...but first two of those need to be done... then fiddling, then I can finally BREATHE! @Cheers: Good show, yeah. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid. I really, really prefer Frasier, though. It's more intelligent and the humour is a lot more raucous.
Oh man, speaking of Geek Mp3s, I really need to catch up with Music to Game By in Natural 20! I have at least three games I want to feature. Might post some Kuzunoha Raidou today, if I have the time.
I feel the same way! There's only so much of the usual pratfalling and fat jokes I can take before a typical sitcom kind of gets to me, but Frasier always had really good material that was incredibly funny while still managing to be intelligent. I was really sad to see it go when it did, because I hadn't been able to watch the last season or so, but luckily they syndicated it on Lifetime (of all networks), so when we get the cable back on I'm all about that ^__^;;
Whoo, go black hair! I used to dye mine black regularly, but it kind of fried it for a while. My hair is only now what one would consider healthy, but I loved the color so much. Photon doesn't think it'd look good on me, but he'd never seen me that way, now has he? =P
Nail polish on guys = tech. I used to wear it every day in high school (along with black makeup, what was I thinking O_o;;) and it just grew on me. It's funny...some habits of mine would heavily suggest that I'm into gender-bending, but I'm actually a man's man.

I woke up this morning with a really swollen lower lip. I think it's an allergic reaction to something, but I don't know what. Last night, all I ate were things that I've eaten countless times before.

Eh, as a rule, I don't think Rockstar makes good games. However it's an interesting concept.
I didn't realize Magic, talking about one's life, and being sociable were decidedly American topics.
Also: Woot, new thread.
Also: Talkin' about jobs. I work in the Audio/Video Production support lab on campus, and I really like it. (It's mostly handling equipment, filming, helping staff, students and faculty use equipment, stuff like that.) I like my job, but I've been offered a position in the Computer Science department on campus, which I think would also be cool. (I would either be a grader or a lab assistant.) There's another incentive to working there; a huge number of the student workers at the A/V lab are off campus this term. If I found another position, then one more of them could have his or her job back when they returned this winter. Hmmmm... (Right now the plan is to split my work hours between them, haha.)
Well, considering the topic of Halloween was just BARELY brought up, I doubt you'll have much of a problem.
I like cooking, but I can't say that I am all that good, really. I made a really killer almond-parmesan chicken the other, week, though.
@Bully: First: Canis Canem Edit? Who the **** thinks of these alternate titles for different demographics? Second: I'm not gonna bother with buying that one. When one is used to the GTA, toning it down a notch on the violence level just makes it more boring. Besides, half the fun of GTA, for me anyway, was just driving around and doing random stunts/drive-bys. Oh and trying to steal the tanks. That's always fun. I'll probably give it a rent next month tho just to say I tried it.
@hot shower: I can't survive without one... Hot water is awesome.

Edit: Cooking? I'm ok. I can cook up some desserts if I know what ingredients I need ahead of time. The problem is remembering everything. Note cards and recipes are my friend. Tho anyone could really follow a recipe gotten from someone else.

The love thing: OK, so on Saturday, I got kicked out of a frat party for pretty much no reason. I went to my friend's room and met with a couple of friends. I talked to one of the girls and she said she'd talk to one of the frat guys about kicking me out. When she was about to leave, she said "I love you." Now that got me thinking: how much weight do you think that has under these circumstances, and should I follow up on it?
