Thanks for the excelent review Ethersphere! I haven't played Shadow Hearts, but it's on my list of games to buy. I had no idea there was a game before it. Often, the old ps1 games are imposible to find around here, but mabey it'll be one that I can buy for a low price online.
It's cool to see that you guys will be getting a subforum in the Colloseum. Congratualtions! I know so little about the colloseum, so I have to ask if other groups will be able to run their own campaigns there.

It's not just for us, we'll just be the ones sort of breaking the ground. We'll probably need a couple of DMs, all around. Are you interested?

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
Yes, so far we are understaffed with DMs. Photon, myself, and maybe ether and Mamelon. Maybe. We need DMs! Anyone willing to give it a go?
Granted, you don't have to DM right when the gate opens. Our test game(s) will be run by one or two of us.
I thought of a neat name for the 'newbie' forum: 'd20 Academy'. Or 'd20 University.' or 'd20 School of Hard Knocks'.
You and your magical academies. Do I need to call up J.K. Rowling and have her personally tell you to knock it off, or can you take care of that on your own, Daisy?
But seriously, we will need people who will want to DM, and to help design one-shot adventures.
(Actually, d20 University isn't all that bad)

Actually, we're already getting ready to go to court on the matter. I think she doesn't stand a chance. I'll just prove to the court beyond a reasonable doubt that Jukar would chew Harry Potter up and spit him out.
And yeah, d20 University sounds good.
As for one-shots, I've got a messload of .pdf modules to use for any generic D&D setting. But homebrews are more fun.
I think that for the newbie one-shots, you're best running a published module, either a store-bought one, or one of the many Wizards has on their site.

Well, some of them, anyway. It really depends on the power curve the DM wants to use, and some DMs are better at designing one-shots for different groups, too.

PMed Sneaky, asked for a name of the main subforum to be either "The Pen and Paper Inn", the "d20 Pen and Paper Forum", or something along those lines. I know, I suck at making names. I also asked him to name the newbie forum either the "d20 Academy" (my favorite) or the "d20 University", which was your guyses favorites.
To answer Wamyc, this sub-forum will be for EVERYONE to use. I'm appointing the Natural 20 clan the runners for the forum because they have experience and they know what they're doing. In the end, there will probably be more moderators appointed. This idea might eventually gain its own forum, like mafia before it, and need official moderators, in which case I'd recommend the Natural 20 staff. But they're just the 'staff' of the place, everyone can take part as players and, if myself, Xyre, and the Natural 20 crew agree, as DMs as well.
Nan has accepted my apology. I'm not sure exactly what he was saying about the idea, but I think all he was trying to do was show me a few flaws in my idea that could be fixed. He wasn't insulting you guys, or myself, and he wasn't trying to steal the idea. My bad-drug (Vicodin is an allergy, apparently) induced haze apparently screwed up my ability to reason. We now have no issues, and things will go full speed ahead tomorrow.
Awesome news, Nai. Looks like we're solid. Who knows, I might get me a bolded name, or a tag I need to write one more article so I can get 'MTGS Writer' on there too...
Once the forum is set up, we can really get focused on how we're going to handle this, and Photon, myself, and anyone who wants to contribute can formulate how we want to present the OGL d20 material.

I believe it's verbatim, nearly. The site has the Unearthed Arcana stuff and some extra goodies, but the main rules and stuff are probably verbatim. I don't care to check as it's not really a big deal.

Well, ultimately, we're going to need to know our limits, I think before anything that isn't coming direct from the SRD is allowed. I know many sites allow all varieties of supplements, but those sites are typically a good deal smaller.
So in the beginning, I think it will be in our best interest to play it safe, and stick as closely to the SRD as we can- also, it will be better to keep it simple until we iron out the bugs, and will make it easier for new players to learn. It's always best to start with Core or as close to Core as you can, in my experience, and then branch out from there.
We'll get it all figured out, though.

You and your tag love.
P.S. Five more posts until 500, and then the new thread starts.
Also, since it came out in 99, it was probably overshadowed more by FFVIII than IX. Just a minor nitpick.
I think i still have the game Koudelka wait probably not oh yeah i rented the game long ago and i finished it in a couple of nights it was really fun and challenging game though. Well i am currently 26 hours into final fantasy 12 and i am on my way to the still shrine fun times.:p
Also happy early thanksgiving everyone and enjoy your turkey dinners.;)
Looks to Joyd as if they've set up the forum for you guys in the Colo. Maybe Photon, Ala, or one of the others could make a brief placeholder 'what this is' post? (Though I don't know what communications have been going on behind the scenes; for all I know, you're already on this.)
Joyd...you got into the sugar lumps, didn't you? The avatar and custom, and now the third-person talking. Is there a Qu using you as a puppet or something? =)
Whee, thread's up! And n20 is headed for a new thread, too. I highly recommend you people read the Koudelka entry because I said so.
Next week I'll be covering a Japan-only title that I think we Americans were robbed of. Yes.
Perhaps at the beginning of each thread we could maintain links to Ether's reviews?
...I've reactivated my World of Warcraft account. Now, I have the ability to play that game without it eating my entire life, as is common, but I still feel so dirty for doing it.
Finally caught up on Rise posts I had neglected during finals. I missed quite a bit. (By the way, done with finals here! Woot!) Now I need to get my head back into it.

What's wrong with linking to the System Reference Document? For D&D, my favorite online SRD is http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/home.html
