Is there any word on whether Mewtwo is coming back? (I haven't been following closely; I know she isn't in any of the trailers I've seen, though.) I have vaguely minor problems with characters that are the same person as another character. (I don't mean 'clone' characters; I mean Mario, Link, and - in SSBB - Samus, who have two different characters each.)
Anyway, back to RPGs (you remember those, right? The things the clan is supposedly about? ;)):
The game I would really recommend to everyone is the Star Ocean franchise. It's a series with a lot of open-endedness and freedom of choice, but also has the strong story and appeal of a more linear RPG. Combine it with an addictive real-time battle system and amazingly complex systems of micromanagement, they really are worth playing.
Honorable mentions: The Shadow Hearts series, Romancing SaGa
Anyway, it's Friday, and we're at 481 posts. Tomorrow the new thread goes up, but it's also possible that we might hit 500 posts before then... so I wonder, which is it gonna be?

@SSBM: Best character: Link. Second best: Jigglypuff. With Link, I am a god.
@ an RPG to recommend: Crystalys, for the NES. It just has that old-school feel of blue menu screens, using an item called Tent instead of going to an inn, and a good storyline.
I know I just have been talking about it, but I suggest Okami. If you can get over the fact that you don't need a party for it to be a rpg, you will love it. It's one of the richest and enchanting games I have played.
Off topic: I just opened my first Timespiral. I got a Jaya balard, Foil Ith, Foil Stormbind, stormbind, mystic snake, several cancle, Mystic Snake, Bogardan Hellkite, Fortune Thief, Dralnu lich lord, knight of the Holy nimbus and a slew of other good cards. Great packs all.
Edit: Somehow managed to get a playset of Spiketail Drakelings and one of them is foil. Lots of foils! I didn't get a massive ammount of cards either.

I've heard a lot of good things about Okami, and I want to pick it up once I have money again.
Meanwhile, Josh is playing SMT: Nocturne, and he has the Harlot on his party. Man, is that chick unsettling. (Pictured here- she's the skull-faced woman in period attire with the chalice at the top right)
I usually don't like most skull faced women.
Me suggesting an rpg to you guys is like a frog suggesting a hopping style to a Kangaroo.
more like a snake, not a frog.
For the rav block I bought a box for each expansion.
for coldsnap I went to the pre-release and a release touny, thats it.
For time spiral, I want to draft draft draft to get the cards I want. Ain't going to happen, but I can dream. Like my dream of finishing ffx-2 before new years, just to cross it off the list.

You really can't get away.
I've tried.
Whats SMT: Nocturne? (Damn abbreviations!) I swear, I would play more rpg's if every message board frequented didn't abbreviate everything to the point that it all sounds the same
But yeah, SMT (or smurf mutant turtlenecks, as far as I know) has some interesting visuals. I'll check into smurf mutant turtlenecks
And yes, that woman is a little unsettling. For me, it's the combination of a sexual and attractive body with a completly dead face. Tug of war with the ole sensabilities.

Shin Megami Tensei. Usually, I wouldn't abbreviate it, but I've been talking about it pretty frequently since the beginning of the clan, so I figured by now it might be safe to start doing so- apparently not.
And yes, her body is disturbing, but I find it more disturbing that she is quite literally the Whore of Babylon.
SMT is a great series to check into, though. It's gritty, esoteric, quite strategic (boss battles are literally won or lost wholly on how you set up before you go into them in most cases), but also a lot of fun.

Oh? I just met a skull-faced woman the other day, and we ended up having lunch together in this nice little downtown cafe...
Time for me to go shopping tomorrow, and find out if I can pick up a copy of Tales of Symphonia cheap. I'm really biding my time until I can pick up a Wii. Anybody know of any good RPGs slated for the Wii?
I know I just have been talking about it, but I suggest Okami. If you can get over the fact that you don't need a party for it to be a rpg, you will love it.
Ive played a non party rpg before and that was secret of evermore an story of a boy and his dog adventuring through various fantasy worlds. I actually liked that game alot because it was a creative game going through a prehistoric world, aztec type of world, medival world, and finally a futuristic world.
Now for the rpgs I would recommend. I will recommend dragon quest and wild arms series since im a big fan of both series.
Something about secret of evermore didn't click with me. I think it had to be a few of the choices the made in that game. Having the dog change breeds throughout the game was just too wierd. The alchemy was complicated but interesting, but I never felt like I had enough ingredients to use the spells.
And I'd contest the notion that a boy and his dog doesn't constitute a party. Even if the dog can't decide if its a retriever or a poodle...
I thought Secret of Evermore's alchemy system was really cool in concept, but it wasn't really that fun to use; I guess it was a nice change from the normal MP system, (or somewhat rarer (in console RPGs) spells-per-day and draw-magic systems), and there was a nice element of resource management involved.

I thought alchemy magic system was pretty cool too and yea it wasnt fun to use because you couldnt really buy all of the ingredients to cast certain alchemy spells. Like alot of the ingredients would have rarity ratios over other ingredients. Ive actually finished the game a couple of times Ive always liked to conserve all of the ingredients unless it was absolute necassary to use certain alchemy. That's how i played all of the dragon quest games as well I conserve all of the MP and use them all on bosses. I also just buy a whole bunch of herbs to heal when needed.

Thanks for noticing! I actually stopped posting for a while because I saw that! It's gone now though!
I love Tekken Mmmm I'm going to go play some Xaio and Feng
Cheeky edit: Is it possible to play games these days without an army of abbreviations and acronyms?
