Hey Gaymers, just checking in. I havent had much to say lately.
Oh, but Mikey, Have you seen the new ads for showcase?! They're freakin awesome... the first one is of a bride and groom and the bride is thinking "I slept with the best man", then the groom is thinking "So did I", then they're both thinking "Than you Showcase". Best Ads ever :D. As you once said, showcase rocks my world.

I don't have cable, actully. When I moved, I decided to experiment with not having cable. So far I've saved $45 a month, plus I avoided the initial $69 connection fee.
Though I remember Showcase's old ads that were like that. Too funny. Showcase was totally my favorite channels.
Er, what is Showcase? I've never heard of it before - is it a Canadian tv show or something?
It's a Canadian cable channel, much like Showtime in the US. Indie flicks, shows you don't get on conventional networks, foreign shows/movies. That kind of thing. They specialize in rather risque programming. "Programming Without Borders"
It's not like I'll be completely screwed over and on my own, I'm going into this program where I'll live in this one house with a few other people, they'll help me find a job and stuff so I can pay rent. And I'll have the support of my godfather, so for the first two months that I'm one my own I'll be in this house with a few other people. Then I'll get an apartment with a roommate and hopefully I'll have tested out of Highschool and grabbed my GED and so I can work fulltime, and the rest of my time on my script. So... this will be my last post till next weekend catcha guys lata!

In other news, it's time for a hot guy.
This time? An actor and (actually quite good) singer. You may know him from such films as Requiem For A Dream, Fight Club, Panic Room and Alexander (where he cozied up to greaseball Colin Farrell). I first hubba-hubba'd him way back when he played Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life (which is quite sadly before your time for a lot of you). Now he's the lead singer in a surprisingly good alterna-rock band (considering it's an actor leading the band, ya know), 30 Seconds to Mars.

Allow me to rebut. I present, Conor Oberst, frontman and only permanent member of Bright Eyes, my new musical obsession:
Fine. uh. I've been hanging out with friends and reading instead of being online. My computer died but I fixed it the next day. Then my monitor died so I took it as a sign (I guess that's as good a way as any to say I'm cheap) to stop using the internet for a while. I'm on before and after work.... AT work so I'm not on that much.
I've not been sleeping well in the past few weeks. As soon as it's 11 I start trying to get some shut eye. At about 2 AM I'm still restless in my bed and my eyes will just pop open. I think it's the heat. I hate the heat. When it's cold I get to lay there snuggled with my covers and pillows. When it's hot I just can't stop thinking about how hot it is. And if there's one thing to stop me from sleeping it's thinking. So my frustration grows when it's compounded that I'm thinking about why I'm not sleeping. Eventually I get up and just start reading hoping that that will exercize my mind to the point at which I will become numb. Not so that I can finally sleep, more so that I just don't care anymore. 4 AM will roll around and finally I'll be asleep on the uncomfortable love seat in my living room. There's at least a ceiling fan in there. Maybe it's just me, maybe my fans suck, but does it sound like the ceiling fan is tap dancing? Perhaps that's just illusory brought on by constant sleep deprivation. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to wake up at 7 that morning. 3 Hours of sleep every day for 3 days straight does not a happy Micah make.
Beyond that I've been going to Starbucks a lot lately. I'm convinced that there is a gay following at Starbucks. Thus I'm also convinced that if I go to enough of them an appropriate amount of times I'll find that gay niche. Though I doubt I'll recognize it. Can you find something you don't recognize if that recognition is the very foundation of finding it? I guess not. I suppose my obliviousness could be dulled if I experience enough gaiety. So far my record is only 4 Starbucks in one day. It's my own fault really. I was captivated by that book at the first coffeeria and the second I met up with a friend and had a nice conversation. The third I got stuck at because this attractive guy, Trevor from Chicago with the nice butt, was working behind the counter. He was from Chicago. He had a nice behind. If you don't know, people from Chicago intrigue me, and some day I'm going to find out why.
Outside of that jumble o' jargon I'm pretty much working and living and getting kicked in the kneecap apparently.
Mikey: Yeah it's funny that the killer was who you said it was in our last conversation because you brought it up almost jokingly.
Cam: You need to get a phone that has an answering machine at least I was actually thinking about this. I don't think Lion's Gate would do a good job making this into a movie. I actually thought that this book wouldn't be done justice in just one movie either. I mean seriously how can you translate 1000+ pages of small printed material into a movie that's only 3 hours long? I figured that the best thing to do is make it into a TV Series. I mean when Dagny finally gets the Galt line going for the first time would make a great season finale. (If something happens on the first run don't tell me because I haven't actually finished the ride yet.)
I saw the DaVinci code this weekend. I liked it and that French actress they got is really attractive! I was upset that I had to discuss the movie with one of my friends though. I was content to have just watched it and moved on but then he and another friend got into an argument about nothing. I didn't want to have to defend the movie nor attack it. I tried to forget what I read in the book too so I could enjoy the movie separate from its literary counterpart. My friend says he like National Treasure better. I think a part of me died when he said that -_-.
Of course he also doesn't want to see Superman. He says it looks stupid. I guess I don't care because the guy they got to play Superman is f'gorgeous. I guess he would be considering the director hehe. Did I tell you guys that they had to digitally edit the "package" of this Superman because it was too big? Maybe that's just a myth or something but that's what I heard.
So I'm looking forward to X-Men this weekend. I hope to see it on Midnight on Thursday. Not cuz I'm an uber X-Men geek (which I totally am) but because what else is there to do at Midnight on Thursday besides try to fall asleep?
Is that enough of an update Mike? Can I have my kneecap back?
I've been hanging out with friends and reading instead of being online.

I was actually thinking about this.
Well, you have to consider a few things. (I won't give anything away, I swear.) First, if you recall the first few pages of the book, starting with Eddie giving a dime to the bum and ending with his encounter with Jim, there is a lot of writing between them, but little actual narrative. She's describing his thoughts, the environment, etc, but his actions are secondary. It would be different in the film. Second, you'll soon discover that many characters are...long winded. They'll cut some of that.
Plus, I trust Lion's Gate to do well...they legally have to. The reason it's taken this long to make the film is because Ayn Rand (and her institute, which holds the copyrights after her death) had some very strict rules about filming Atlas:
1) No changes to action. The screenwriter may subtract, but he may not add or change. None.
2) No changes to dialogue. Subtraction, sure, but no add/change.
3) Must include at least a shortened version of [pinnacle event which you have yet to reach].
Wow. Big lump of information all at once.
I had no idea there was going to be an Atlas Shrugged movie. I want to find that book...I read a collection of Rand's essays, and I found them quite interesting.
French actress in DVC(which I plan to see eventually)...she's...umm...Audrey Tautoune, right? I believe she's in Amélie as the title role, if I remember correctly.
gerg: If you're looking for good international cinema, check out La Strada. If you're looking for good movies in general, see any Woody Allen film. I personally reccomend Annie Hall, Bullets Over Broadway, Manhattan, or Deconstructing Harry.
've seen Kal Ho Naa Ho, just wondering who else has.
I know. I was more responding to the bit about "world cinema ftw!"
In any event, I haven't seen Kal Ho Naa Ho, but I shall surely check it out as soon as possible...which may or not be any time soon, due to the criminally understocked video stores in New Hampshire.
(Also, good luck with the progressive Rabii, and later (I would assume), your parents.)
Well if Brad Pitt has signed up do you suppose he'd be Hank Rearden? I was actually trying to think of actors to play these parts. In my mind they all looked alike but just different shades and different ages. I'm especially interested to see who would play Frisco cuz he seems gorgeous. And for some reason every time I thought of Dagny I thought of Helen Hunt. But less evil and less old.
Run, Lola, Run was a pretty good movie. We watched it in German class. I think it would've been a much better movie if we hadn't been forced to write journals about it...but that's how most stuff like that is. * Leilani shrugs
Mikey wasn't at school this morning, which I found a bit worrysome. I mean, sometimes he'll skip first hour to sleep in, if he hadn't slept well the night before...but he wasn't at school until halfway through fourth hour [around 11:45, school starts at 7:20]....I asked why he was late, and turns out he randomly blacked out and fell down the stairs.
The kid has quite the medical history, and him randomly blacking out concerns me...though I wouldn't let him see that. I've kept my eye on him all day, and he seems fine, just a bit tired. We'll see how he is tomorrow.
So...as I'm posting, I'm drinking Monster and eating a bag of Tropical Skittles. let's just say consuming both at the same time isn't the tastiest thing ever. And I prefer Lo-Carb Monster much more to the regular one. I don't know why, I just do. O_o;
Yup. 7 days of school left. The last day is graduation rehearsal...
God, that makes me want to cry. As much as I hate getting up early, and seeing people I hate all day....I'm going to miss it. Miss the routine, seeing the people I actually like, and the crazy conversations.

Alright, back to my can of Monster.

I think school has finally gotten to me - although I am still yet to properly receive name-calling and such, the people at school have been making me feel depressed, especially the boy I fancy. Before the coach left for home today such a boy through my bag off twice, and wouldn't let me back to my seat for a while. I don't really want to go to a teacher because I think it would end in me having to out myself...
I'm also getting worked up again over the fact that I can't have him, and I think that may be spurred by what he's been saying.
Right now I just want to put on drag and some makeup - I think I'll feel more comfortable then.
You're worried about being outed when the reaosn people are treating you poorly is, at least as far as you've posted, because you're gay? It seems like you're already a bit outed. Besides, you can always tell a teacher to get someone to knock something of without saying, "Tell these people to knock it off because they're only doing it because I'm gay." Or confused, or whatever your case may be.
Greg, you do realize this is high school. a.) If your entire class knows, then the rest of the school either knows or will know shortly. b.) For the majority of people, high school sucks/sucked. Get through it, don't give a damn what anyone thinks and don't let anyone other than you decide who you are or what you will do because in a year or two you'll never have to see or deal with these people again.
As long as you don't feel like your safety is threatened, then whatever crap you have to put up with is - honestly - your burden to bear. There's no way around it. But no matter how lousy you feel, it's temporary. You will get over it.

High school is very irritating fo me, just because it's so maddeningly mundane.
I don't have quite your problem, fortunately, as my school's very tolerant, but I can sympathize.
My school is pretty divided on the issue. I'd say that the break down is 60% think it's okay, 40% don't think homosexuality is okay. Even with such a comparatively accepting atmosphere, I fear others much of the time.
I can only imagine how hard, then, it must be for you. I'm sorry. I hope we can provide comfort.
Help has come in the form of a bit of basic algebra. I feel that it'll shed some light on your problem here.
Basically:
S + T = W
...S in this case stands for 'spam' and the T stands for 'light trolling'. And the W? That stands for 'Warning'. I love math. -- {mikeyG}
Well, where I come from is sorta like the Redneck Canada, so we aren't really accepting of the gay community in general. So, at school, everyone is pretty homophobic. Even if I show some of my feminine qualities/tendancies, I almost always get flamed out. But, ya, I'm pretty comfortable with myself, so people dont usually bug me, but If I was anybody else and was genuinely gay, I'd probably have a hard time coming out.

I'm kind of going nuts studying for finals, so I won't be on very much in the next week or two. I suppose I'll see you all later...
That, wearing on your breast,
You, unsuspecting, wear me too -
And angels know the rest.
Haha, no, no change status. He's still my boyfriend, now at almost 4.5 months.
