Hm.. tough call. But I gotta say my favorite American band has to be Queen. I love their music.
My favorite artist in music has to be Nobuo Uematsu, obviously. Only a fan would want to download 6+GB of his music
Yes, please change the topic. We all know depression sucks, and that it is a serious problem. But depression has a way of spreading. So lets not spread it over the internet.
there's a difference between feeling depressed and having clinical depression. i would *hope* that you don't develop clinical depression by reading stories on internet forums, that would be rather sad.
favorite band? yowza, i don't know...i like a lot of bands, but my three favorites have to be bad religion, linkin park and shinedown. yes, i have interesting taste in music...
ok... who's your favorite musical group/performer and why? Name some of the best "inspirational" songs they've recorded and why they are inspirational to you.
The Beatles have changed the way I listen to music. I've listened to them in the past and never thought anything of them. But as of a few months ago, when I listened to The White Album, I have to believe that they were the greatest musical group of the 20th century, if not of all time. Their lyrics and the heart and soul they put into their music is just astonishing. I'd recommend anything on that album.
My favorite musician... hmmm. I adore JA Seazer, and I always will. I don't really have a favorite band, but I really like a lot of different Jpop and jrock groups. One of my all-time favorites is JA Seazer's Utinam Reviviscat Medium Aevum, and Malice Mizer's Bara no Seidou.
I also have a soft spot for jpop artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki, and Masami Okui.
Edit: If anyone else even knows who JA Seazer is, I'll make them all the waffles they want.
I don't have one favorite musician, but a few are:
-The Beatles
-Eminem (so shoot me)
-Varios Rap Artists but I only like one song from each of them so the songs will be listed (Get Low, Ms. New Booty, Tell me when to go, etc...)
Basically I listen to rap and the beatles...an odd combination
Well, Shinobi, i have school until the 20th. But for music, i would have to agree with Alacar and say Queen...theres just so much that they inspired and changed, and i love it
Gosh I feel like some poser/getto outcast...hanging with all you rockers.
no, you're not.... and by a large margin.
i also listen to:
Three-6 Mafia
50 Cent
Crime Mob
Luda
Gorillaz
Deltron 3030/Del Tha Funky Homosapien
First North Posse (a rap group a bunch of friends and i created with a voice modulator)
Field Mob
Ciara
Petey Pablo
Kool Keith/Dr.Octagon
Nelly
R.Kelly
Mike Jones
Oh man. Music. The one thing that literally puts me in so many groups. I have a little of everything in my list and collection. Favorite band tho? I can't really say I have one. When I like an artist I just buy EVERYTHING by them or in the case of more recent discoveries of "older" artists I just try to get the last 3 CD's. This makes for A LOT of music. I have 4 gigs alone sitting on my computer and another 35-40 CD's. I don't like a lot of artists as you might be able to tell... but the ones I do I get absorbed by.
This week, our regular is Alacar Leoricar, or as I like to call him Alakar Leonincarl (but you can call him Chris). Alacar owes his particularly troublesome name to his first D&D character.
He came to MTGS last September, wanting to join in on all the spoiler-related goodness. He primarily hangs out in the Coffeehouse and in [R&D], but occasionally haunts the Artwork forums to snag up artwork for his many card creations.
Alacar's love of pingers is hardly an unknown, and it is no great surprise that his favorite card is Prodigal Sorcerer. After all, when a card can be a Monty Python reference AND a source of spot removal all in one, it's hard not to like it.
Alacar claims his favorite deck archetype is classic White Weenie, because of it's solid efficiency. He even has his own classic WW deck, which is complete aside from two rare components, Mox Pearl and Black Lotus- but then, who among us has those floating around (Quiet, SapphireTri!)
As I am sure most of you know, Alacar spends a lot of his free time working on his own block, Academy, which the Coffeehouse has been used as a previewing ground for on many occasion. He also enjoys D&D, and the d20 System in general, and DMs his own conversion of Half-Life in d20 Modern format. He also enjoys video games (although we have yet to see eye to eye on our tastes in such), and likes what he terms "geeky" music- which he shares weekly in the House.
He says he loves the Coffeehouse for the sense of community that comes along with it, and he really enjoys the chocolate milk and popcorn, claiming it is one of his favorite comfort foods.
Alacar suffers from mild cerebral palsy, which effects his motor skills, asthma, and other things. He also says (though this is hardly obscure knowledge) that he is a "pasty white geek".
His hopes, outside of finishing his block, are to be united (in what I can only assume is some sort of voodoo gestalting ceremony) with his girlfriend Heather.
His favorite people in the Coffeehouse, he says, are Omna, Arguas, and myself- although that last bit probably has a lot to do with the fact that I am, at this moment, holding him at spear point.
Anyway, that is it for the Regular of the Week. Everyone give him a hand, and stay tuned next week. It could be any of you. Well, except Alacar. And Crimson Avatar, since he already had his moment. But you get my point.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
A: Yes, I do, but if I released the secret documents your awesomeness could be cloned and we'd have an epidemic of pure supremity on our hands.
Another thing most people don't know about me is that my family is more open about sexuality than people think; my grandmother was a lesbian Baptist minister! (talk about a paradoxical oxymoron)
She died of cancer in '99. My mom was crushed. But she was a strong woman who'd survived it at least three times before.
Surprised she wasn't stoned. Do you live in the South or something?
*Alacar pings Mortal Wombat for speaking ill of the deceased She wasn't stoned!! She lived in Washington State! Geeze! I live in the South, but I was raised primarily in upstate NY. I'm an Army brat. That's terrible to say, Wombat!
My favorite artist in music has to be Nobuo Uematsu, obviously. Only a fan would want to download 6+GB of his music

Oh - and PARTY IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Q: Alacar, do you know why I am so awesome?
Speaking of rock and gamers, why do so many gamers (video gamers, dice chuckers, and CCG players) like rock? It's odd. *Sips tea*
So I'm in New York now. I took a train to get there from South Orange with my sister. I'm going to be looking for a job tomorrow, so wish me luck!
