I saw you put the book thing in the first post so I decided to bring it up...but I never thought you could type so much about what youve read. I still want to read a little over half of what you said and reread the rest.
Speaker was a little hard to read up to about chapter 6 or 7 (til ender reviels himself to the reader officially) otherwise I thought it was going nowhere...now I need to track down book 3 (though Id rather start reading the shadow ones too)
EDIT
Id make the book shelf, but it would collapse under the weight of our books
(and I need to reDL MSE)
You can all call me Erick if you want...IDK why my screan name is Grappler12...I made it sooooooo long ago and Ive used it ever sence...
*Erick makes himself a hotpocket in the real world*
all this talk of books makes me want to go and get Book three even more!

And your wish is granted.... And don't worry about the collapsing thing... We can always pile them on the floor if they're getting too heavy for the bookshelf, or summon a new one!
EDIT: Welcome Erick! I'm Danica! Hotpockets are great... Ham & Cheese Croissant ones especially! Oooh that reminds me.... Croissants going on the menu!
No one got me my blak? That's it i'm comin over. Grabs/chugs coca-cola. Ha ha no one can stop my counter hopping skills! I am the black coffee that hides behind all of that cream and suger. And, Grappler, I think she is going to be a librarian, so she should have read a ton of books.(is that right omna?) But recently I read the Kamigawa books and all 4 books of the Lord of the Rings saga. Anyone else here love fantasy?
And Alcar- I am available for a draft tomorrow at 4:00 here in Illinois. Not sure about other timezones though.
Speaker for the Dead!! Enders Game!!!!! :D:D:D:D I looove those books! Have you read the Shadow ones?? Those are incredible.... Did you find Speaker hard to read? I remember I got through Speaker okay but Xenocide, I stopped halfway through I still need to pick up that series again... I'll probably read Enders' Game again, just to compare "Ender's Shadow" and the following "Shadow" books.. I still need to read "Shadow of the Giant"... That bastard Achilles..
I love the ender's game books! I've read ender's game and Xenocide, but i haven't gotten to any of the other ones. Xenocide, I agree, is a little hard to get through since it moves a bit slowly at times, but it really is great.
* BweeBwee summons a Book shelf filled with books (including the Ender's game series, of course)

I swear, I was JUST about to serve it to you! But you got it.... Enjoy:D
And yes, Shinobi, I'm impressed that you remembered that little tidbit!! I LOVE fantasy books!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can probably do that, tomorrow... Arguas will be disappointed that he can't make it... he's got a meeting from 4-6, but we'll see how it goes... I'm gonna see if i can do it now with Alacar, at least try:p (never done this before lol)
@ Bel SUmmon one up and have a seat
Eladrayius looks at his Book list...looks at Shinobi...looks at the list again...Yes I do read Fantasy books as a matter of fact...they be my favs! OH MY I FORGOT ABOUT ERAGON! I loved that book...oh and Eldest...I read that too
@Danica hmmm maybe I should just bring my library to the Coffeeshop
a town near us has a coffeehouse/library and I go in there sometimes. A friend of mine works there...its a good place. though not nearly as busy as this fine establishment
What do you mean "Friends type" group?? Fine, go be all exclusive
And BweeBwee, thanks for the bookshelf!! *Gets myself a Coca-Cola Blak* I'm curious about this thing....
Alacar, lets go!! *pulls coffee table between sofa and armchair, careful not to spill*
We need more books! Oooh.. does anybody play chess!?
EDIT: Erick, where do you live, if you don't mind me asking.. I'm searching for a library job this summer, and that sounds heavenly
Yes, i play chess, I'm reasonably good, but not super-crazy-awesome-grandmaster-hotpocket man.
I've read both Eragon and Eldest, although the ending in Eldest was kinda lame. I'll spoiler it for those of you who want to read it but haven't already:
Don't you think the ending is really predictable and lame? I mean, obviously its Murtagh, and the whole dialogue of their fight scene seems like it comes from dragonball z!
EDIT: Also, am I the onyl oen who thinks the name of this clan should just be [Coffeehouse], or [The Coffeehouse]? [magic Coffeehouse] is a little less smooth, you know?
I agree with you about the ending...but I still thought it was good
Be right back

Hello everyone, thought I'd stop by. * Yamaneko orders a coke. Mm... Coca-Cola.
Heh, I loved the Ender Saga, just can't wait for shadows in flight to come out.
Omna, if you've read up to just before Shadow of the Giant, why would you be ripping on Achilles?
He's kinda dead.
Anyways, Shadow of the Giant is a great book, and leaves much room for sequels.
Hey BweeBwee. I like magic coffeehouse. It shows that we could actually talk about magic related topics. Anyone else got netdraft? I need some experience before I go to FNM tomorrow.
Wow, this thread took off. It's not like I'm surprised though. I have a lot to catch up on now I'm back from work.
I might as well add myself into all this -
Relationships: I'm actually very inexperienced when it comes to romantic relationships. For the most part, they have been difficult for me, for a number of reasons. I've been with a few people that ended up only liking me for what I did for them, and not for me. That never ends well. I just got out of one such messy relationship this past year that I'm still recovering from. Relationships in general - friendships, family, even rivalries - are what I believe make the world go 'round, and I feel they are the most important things in life. Anything that interferes with harmonious relationships and their maturation, I am against.
Magic: I started playing a few years ago, and I've come to really, really like it. A lot. I'm surprised with how much I've been able to enjoy it. I often will get into a game or some other form of entertainment, but seldomly will I stick with it with the frequency I have with Magic. It doesn't really affect my social life that much. I really like weird combo decks, and I mostly play for fun, I'd say.
Gender bias: Okay. First, everyone here needs to realize that I understand gender better than anyone. ANYONE!! Okay, kidding. Seriously, though, gender bias is something I see all the time, and it's a pretty big issue for me. People are extremely, extremely sensitive about gender (to say nothing of sexuality). They have very strong feelings about it. Girls are meant to be a certain way, to fit into a certain stricture, and so are boys. To violate those strictures is a grave, grave sin in the eyes of the social monitor. In generaly, people don't care what is a normal way for an individual to act or feel, they care about the unwritten laws and their own level of comfort with another person's existence. This sounds negative (and it is) but remember how sensitive people are about gender. In terms of imagery, identity, perception, and social interaction, it is a very deep thing. It is hard to not have feelings about it.
Anyway, I'm not going to go on much longer, unless I want to write an essay or something, which I'm not planning on doing here.
I feel gender is beautiful, but it's ugly and dehumanizing to use it as a way to restrict or define people. Because then, your gender is who and what you are - you are nothing more, nothing less.
Omnas's awesomeness: I'd say her awesomeness doesn't come from being a girl so much as just being herself. The same can be said for everyone who is awesome, I think.
Spreading the Coffeehouse: Should we make some kind of mini-banner? I imagine it will spread itself eventually . . .
Jobs: Don't ask. Just don't.
School: I haven't been able to get into school yet. Partially for lack of money, partially for personal reasons (I use that explanation a lot, don't I?). But I will soon. I'm not sure what to study, there are just so many options . . .
Tea: I prefer green, but black and oolong are good too, to say nothing of red tea. Actually, I've found I love white tea. Green or white tea with jasmine or some other floral elements are ones I gravitate towards. I had a good Valentine's day tea that was chocolate black with rose petals - that was nice.

Quote from Omna15 »
. . . mamelon and Kristina, you two need to get back here and make some more cookies, Mr. Leprechaun took 'em all!
Well, here I am.
Now, the ones near the left are plain chocolate chip, then white chocolate macademia nut, then peanut butter, then cinnamon mocha (my special invention), then dark chocolate chunk cookies.
Any other preferences to add soon?
Quote from Arguas2617 »
On the topic of the cookies, yes you should, and you should mix in your general kindness and for conversations, add maybe a touch of gender insecurity
My cookies are always full of love and kindness. It alters the flavor. It's more powerful than vanilla (though I never abandon the vanilla - mmm, vanilla).
Me? Insecure? Heh, well . . . maybe in a way. A little gender insecurity a good thing, I feel.
Seriously, I'm really making cookies tonight. I'm so hungry for them now . . . agghh! I'm so glad I know how to bake :).
Quote from Photon Eater »
I'm not really sure what you are saying... do you feel that homosexual feelings are just misplaced heterosexual feelings? I don't agree with that theory, personally.
Neither do I, but it's natural to try and figure out and explain something if you yourself don't understand it, or you've never been there personally - just as it's natural to be uncomfortable with something you yourself don't feel. True, theories tend to be messy affairs - theories (at least in the way I'm using the word) themselves are always abstract, and so can become detached from reality quickly. Something I feel is a moment of great maturation is when a person must come to reconcile theories and beliefs (which aren't the same as theories, but are sometimes very abstract as well) with feelings and decision in life that seem to conflict with them.
That's why I'm always way more interested in how someone feels than with what someone thinks.
Anyway, I'd also like to go on about my latest deck, but that will have to wait for another post, I imagine.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.

so sorry I cant help you shinobi...though I would be up to it
Thanks for trying anyway! Any other takers? Well, to spark a conversation, which guild(if you like any) do you like from Ravnica block? I'm ALL SIMIC.
edit: Wohoo, I'm an experienced mage! Cookies for all!
Hmm you made a very long post...longest Ive seen in a while other then clan front pages...But I did read it all Relationships
if you concider having lots of close friends a relationship then I guess im doing well. THough I havent ever dated...havent ever needed to...But I should assume that that will change within the next year...but you never know magic
Whenever I play its for fun or IM drafting and its a blast. This is the only thing I've continued playing for the last 6 years or so other then the tuba Gender
I rarely concider a person's gender when talking to them. I think it dehumanizes them. I don't think its a "big deal" for me, though I know lots of people who have problems when dealing with opposite sex (im talking about boys and girls here, not just Guys *though that seems to be the major case*) my life as of now
Is centered around this cursed play...darn, long, hard to memorize, boring, ect...
It seems I need to catch up on my reading. I've never read much in the way of fiction except for a very small number of series mainly because I haven't had much interest but I also tend to lose my attention when reading VERY fast. It's like mini-ADD (without actually being ADD). But I'll probably give Card's stuff a try... once I figure out the chronology of the books that is.
And Omna, the MTG novels aren't that bad from what I understand. Of course I just started with the Ravnica stuff and I have to say they are pretty interesting but not in-depth (but what can one really expect from a 300-page paperback book?)
Otherwise, lately, I've just been playin with old PS1 RPG's that I wanted to try but never really got the chance, either due to availability or time problems back then. College made me miss A LOT of things.
Quick Edit: Cardwise, I have to say I look forward to be playing a Borzhovdos deck. AKA :symw::symb::symr:. Rakdos tends to fit in the aggro strategies of both Boros and Orzhov so it should fit in perfectly somewhere. Plus having access to both sides of Hide/Seek is not a bad thing to have...
Ill sing, but I dont know to many tunes.
I lettered in choir and have sung in concerts and such... oh and in Jazz band
And I can play the Tuba...maybe we can start a band

I'm a HUGE RPG fan. I have a psp(playstation portable) nowadays and I have probably the best RPG ever. It's called PoPoloCrois where all of the people look really small. And has anyone seen the ads for megaman powered up. When I saw one I said to myself:"OMG! It's a mini megaman!". Grappler-I play the sax!
The Magic books are mostly good, oh, and Prophecy doesn't exist.
Crimson Avatar: Ender's Game is the first, and incredible. Though, technically, First Meetings is the first, but it makes more sense once you read the others.
