maybe survival of the fittest would be good with mortal combat and with anger and genesis. Then having mortal combat be an alternate win condition but just in case the main win condition does not always work but just an idea though. Mortal combat is a definate rogue style card.
Mortal Kombat 4BB Enchantment
If one of your creatures destroys all creatures on your opponent's side of the board, you win the game.
"Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! I am true master!"
[Gotta do that.]
And ... I beat the card store owner at my house with my amazing random deck. he was playing U/B mill that was entirely ravnica block, and, also, horribly built.
Chorus of the Conclave for the win!

my mouth is full of winsome lies -

it sees beyond my blindness and
forced failure makes a better guise,

it feels like life's a decent plan
ugh Chorus of the Conclave. Yeesh! I was drafting yesterday and I had the chance to draft it yesterday and yet again I decided against it. I just can't bring myself to think that a playable card. I mean for all intents and purpose it should be playable... but it's just... not.... I mean, am I missing something?
The deck started out with Cerulean Sphinx as my first pick. I figured that was okay since removal would just shuffle it back to my library. (seems like Flickerform, Voyager's Staff and Cerulean Sphinx are all in the same guild, WU) Maybe Leashling too?
Anyways the deck eventually went Green White Blue because I got 2 Guardian of Vitu Ghazi and Vitu Ghazi the City Tree.
I don't know what the entire deck looks like anymore, but I know there was sick synergy. Sick sick sick.
That's all I can remember at this time. I think I had a Vedalken Entrancer in there but I don't think I ever played him.
The deck ran really smoothly and I didn't lose a game.
Against my first round opponent it got crazy though. I had a Guardian of Vitu Gazi out and he played a Clinging Darkness on it. So I played Fist of the Ironwood on it and Mark of Eviction. I bounced all of it back to my hand and played the Guardian again and reattached Mark and Fist. (Yes that is very excessive as I could have put the enchantments on a token but I also had Halcyon Glaze in play and I needed to play a creature every turn.) Eventually it became 1WUG, Put a 4/7 Trample, Vigilance creature into play, 2 1/1 Saprolings, and a 4/4 Flying creature with Haste into play.
One of the two games he played a Hunted Troll and I cast Mark of Eviction. I WISH i had drafted Flickerform after that!!!
The second round opponent I played was actually one of my teammates on team ThunderCharge. He was playing White/Green too without the advantage of badass blue. The first game against him was goofy. I started out by playing a Carven Caryatid then enchanting it with Flight of Fancy.... and then Mark of Eviction. His creatures started coming down so I decided to start blocking so I played Drift of Phantasms and Carven Caryatid and Watchwolf and stalled the board. I won that game with Snapping Drake 3 turns in a row.
Second game I probably should have lost. I did get an early start though. Cerulean Sphinx came down turn 5 and was immediately dispatched with Devouring Light (so I shuffled it back in and never saw it again.) He eventually had dispatched an army with the Selesnya Evangels and swung in. I blocked because I had 2 Snapping Drake that would swing for game next turn (he was at 5). Oh my gah. Dogpile. Fortunately my not so useless Voyager Staff was there to make me go to 1 instead of -1. That was game because I bounced a token with Mark of Eviction and played Fists of the ironwood on one of my Drakes just in case he had a flying creature to block with.
I have new love for Mark of Eviction sirs and madams. Much love indeed. That card, while not as fast as flickerform (and I did have a chance to get flickerform but passed it for Faith's Fetters or something) is amazing. I comboed so much.
Halcyon Glaze + Mark of Eviction
Mark of Eviction + Flight of Fancy
Mark of Eviction + Faith's Fetters
Mark of Eviction + Fists of the Ironwood
Mark of Eviction + Tokens
Mark of Eviction + Opponent's Hunted creatures.
There were so many things that that deck did well. Reusing enchantments was among them though I wish the Drake had been in there to make it even sillier.
Thoughts on Mark of Eviction?
Don't know about possible applications outside of limited, but it could be fun to try I think.
Well we know how to win with Battle of Wits. And Mortal Combat. anyone wanna... take a stab at.... chance encounter.... I think that deck involves a lot of Krark's Thumb.
What about the Epic Struggle deck. Maybe with Genesis Chamber?
Yeah i agree it is a very nice card of mortal combat. I think it would be cool to come up with actual magic cards of raiden, scorpion, reptile and the other MK characters just for fun. On other matters I am pretty surprised that wotc is going to print another card set in ice age block but I think the set is going to be impressive.:)
I thank MTG Editor for the card frame and all the graphical details. Picture was plucked off Google Images. Fatality is that of Raidens from MK I. Good stuff.
so we haven't decided anything on the clan council name being changed. We want it to be open to the clan instead of just the council members so we need input with this. I like "Officials" but I also like, "Crimson Avatar the Seargant at arms" but that insinuates a hierarchy. let's see.... hmmm.... maybe the ARD House of Lords... or... the ARD Senate... or the Crazy 88.
Ninja? Elite? Officers? Board?
Let's decide soon. I'm setting a time limit on this. If we don't have a name by Sunday then I will get with the "council" members and we'll just create a name. Failing that I'll put letters into a had and randomly pull them out until I can spell a word with them (longer than 3 letters) and THAT will be the name of the "Council"
Yeah the whole "coldsnap" thing kind of caught me off guard too. And then it "FINISHED ME!" when they said it would be type 2 legal. O' Wizards...why must you use your fatalities on us?

I'm partial to the Crazy 88 too but we don't have 88 people sadly.
In light of that, how about the name Congregate? Sure its not a noun but no one ever said we couldn't make it one. The Senate or House of Lords is good stuff too... I don't care which one necessarily just as long as it has a good tone...
Here is a deck that i have been working on trying to make it fully optimal in the current legacy meta. This deck is called white stax and I got the basic idea of the deck from the legacy competitive forum on mtgs however i made the sideboard and changed around a few things in the deck to my liking. Anyways the deck does have a lot of trouble against control such as landstill and regular uw control and etc so i fixed up the mana base somewhat for plateaus and fetchlands then splash in the red elemental and pyroblasts in the sideboard which actually makes the matchup against control a decent match. The deck locks down your opponent and then wins by attacking with decree and/or angel. Now im not saying it is a true rogue deck but it does have some rogue in it since very few players play with it in legacy competitively and it is not well known unlike landstill, goblins, fish, wubs, burning tog, solidarity and etc.
No he said clan and it confused you. They're only changing the name of the council... I agree with Rev somehow here... The Fellowship of the Rogue... even though that oes sound like a lame off spin to Lord of the Rings... but however I Like it.
I'm glad somebody else said it... I'm not one for corny names personally... tho I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite cause of how I name threads (read: the Star Wars reference of the last thread and the Hex reference on this one...)...

Nice rev, i really like that title for our great clan.
Oh please god no. Blackball. Let's take out Crazy 88 too so we just don't have any references to movies or sci fi or anything.
what about the Executives. or ... why not just leave it as ARD Council? or Council of the Alliance of Rogue Deckers. We could be the CARD.

Yuck. Sorry but that just sounds to corny.
I guess everyone should like the new name so if everyone isn't happy with Fellowship of the Rogue then w/e.
I just thought it sounded pretty cool and the fact that it was a spinoff didn't matter too much. We could just be "The Fellowship of [ARD]"
