Yeah, Bweeb (can I call you that, cuz it sounds cool) was right about the casual thing. If that went to Regionals and won, I would die. Maybe we could send it to JMS and see what he does with it, lol.
Eh, pardon the character of my last post, It's been a strange weekend and my brain feels like it's been taken over by a goblin. Although I ould see that thing wreaking havoc in casual with my friends...they play big creatures that are very important to their combos. Can't use em if you don't have em!
Deck Guru Wuffles has some more results - this is from a matchup played between Rocker and I.
Fried dragonaut (see teh old thread, pg. 15 for my decklist) beat R/G beats 2/1. The game that I lost involved 15/23 lands being drawn, even with the nivix to filter for 5 turns.
Both Nivix and my draws were land.
Rocker's deck was a simple seeming r/g beats. The creatures I saw:
My guess at the deck:
4 Kird Ape
4 Birds of paradise
4 Dryad sophisticate
4 Tin Street hooligan
4 Scab-clan mauler
4 Burning Tree shaman
4 Rumbling Slum
4 Volcanic Hammer
4 Char
2 Moldervine cloak
22 land -
It was a scary deck. The gruul land is insanely playable I have found. As soon as gelectrode hit, though, he had to either kill it or lose the game. Gelectrode in play = gg. Slum, even with skarrg for backup, still died to gelly + char. Shaman died to shock or hammer. Kird ape died to any burn. All his other creatures died to gelectrode by themselves.
I like pie.
EDIT: U/R Tron got totally, absolutely OWNED by that deck. It didn't stand a chance. lost three games then changed to my deck of choice.
^The only problem I see with any type of Izzet deck seems to be the land *screw*. Mine also only loses to the excessive land draw. Drawing 3 land with Compulsive sucks when all you want is a Niv.

To avoid land screw I keep my base down to 22 lands. The problem is you need two lands in your oppening hand. Even If your drawing if you dan't have two lands you mulligan.

Well, I tested Fried dragonauts over the weekend and now all my friends are ex-grull (or orzhov) izzet converts. Unfortunatley, I can't write anymore because class is almost over.
to help land screw problem use signets, they really help. i played against a leyline hunted deck. they kick *butt*. play leyline 4 free, then drop a hunted horror. evil as hell. i also played against a nephilim deck, suprisingly it was quite good. i still won though. izzet combo deck is good, but i keep gettin screwed for mana. i always get two then keep drawing crap. I GET MY BOX ON FRIDAY!!!!!

the problem with U/R tron is that its not defensive enough
it runs, what, 8 counters? and pyroclasm...once that g/r deck drops a first turn kird ape...its pretty much game over, unless you can mise into a balze, or invoke or creature to race your opponent with
Where can i find a deck list for U/R tron? i would like to match my URg deck against in in some PT. i also must say that WeeDs are still riping everything apart for me.
Lol, i'm on my mom's old windows 2000 laptop also, and i tried downloading apprentice and mws, and they don't work, but i dunno, maybe your mom's windows 2000 laptop is different from mine.
Hey guys whats going on? I just set up a new hotmail acct for some playtesting: izzetchemistry@hotmail.com. I am new to MWS so right now I'm just learning it and putting in some of the bigger name deck lists. So feel free to add me if someone wants to try something out sometime.
Wasn't Canada Man going to post new rules or something?
And here it is:

The deck I am currently running seems to be hard to kill. In best of three I won 2-1 but I lost in the best of 5 2-3; playing against ghazi/glare sucks. Kodama + Hierarch + Watchwolf beat down my face; the land screw is what hurt me the most in two of the games i played.
What I dread is mirror matchup where they sideboard in Cerebral Vortex against my draw. Any sort of burn vs the draw hurts alot.

@speedy What is this gruul/pie incident of which you speak? I know not of such an incident! That is, unless, i just forgot.....
@Darkon Which deck are you playing now again? And also, if its the mirror, you can sidebaord in vortexes as well, and not to mention counter their vortex. The onyl time i'd expect them to use it is if it would finish you or come close to finishing you, and i cant see a situation where you'd be at low life and play a bunch of draw spells in one turn.
In other news, i went to an orientation thing tonight, since I'm going to Israel this February vacation. Should be interesting. Ta ta! Ok since when do i say "Ta ta!".....

i think it was last thread, but one of our members said there was too many i like pie outbursts in the gruul clan and one of the gruul members got PO'd. i dont kno how saying it after every post would fix anything...
and playing against cerebreal vortex or watever the heck its called WOULD suck
I've been playtesting palletric feedback... and well I just don't like it. Is it just good as a SB or can it be useful maindeck. I thought it was exciting but it's just not what I expected. Any thoughts?
