It has come to my attention in the recent weeks and months that people often find it hard to be a member of more than one clan... It's not because of the posting requirements, but because of the rules... So, I'm asking for a general consensus on what the Clan posters think.

Should we allow users to be members of more than one clan, or keep it restricted?

What about when we rumble? Who you gonna side with, East or West?

edit - now I feel the need to elaborate. I think it takes away the uniqueness of being in a clan if you can be in several. I also don't think it works for clan contests. Which was what I meant by my West Side Story rumble comment. You just can't be a greaser AND a soc, right Cherry?

I don't see a reason not to allow people to be in as many clans as they want.

To me it seems to defeat the purpose of clans if people are joining more than one.

I too, think that it only make sence to be in one. I can see 2 maybe, but other than that...just ask to be a "friend of the Clan".

People should just be allowed to do whatever they want clan-wise, we shouldn't even have a poll on this. If there's a limit then lead the leader(s) of that clan decide. It's their clan so they should ultimately get to decide whether or not people can be more than one member of a clan.

Much as I'd like to, I have to agree that it defeats the purpose of a clan. If clans were like factions, with everyone having affiliations with different ones then maybe...

Because, often times members usually are a member of one clan and a "friend" of another... At both threads, they post at about the same consistency and they usually are treated exactly like a member, just with the title of "friend".

2 is fine, but 3 is too many.

Well, I think it should be up to the actual clans in question. Most I've seen require you to be a member of only one clan (theirs) but allow you to be a friend if you are already part of a clan. If, however, you find a few clans which don't mind you being in more than one clan, you should be fully able to join them.

Why? First, clans are a place to talk about anything and everything with your friends.

Secondly, most members stick to haunting about 2 to 3 clan threads, not everyone in the forum...

Like I said, 'member' and 'friend' have the same status, just a different name... So why differentiate?

I'm a strict proponent of just one clan, and its because of the aforementioned reasons from those who agree with me. It doesn't makes sense, especially with clan contests. The purpose of clans is to be a part of a clan. Plus if the clans are unlimited, soon every member could srike off and make their own clan, or there could be variations of some clans with the same people...I just find it self-defeating.

+ the effect on Clan Contests hasn't been discussed. Clan Friends don't participate in those, do they? Or vote on important clan issues. It's not just a meaningless title, being a member, or at least, I don't take it to be. Haven't seen a solid argument For, yet. Still vote 1.

I actually don't care much about what ends up happening, I think that the leaders of a clan should decide according to what they belive it's best for the clan. However I am more inclined for actually being in one is enough, but people should do as they please (like in the case of school clubs).

Well, we know what the decision is, so, we'll keep it to 1 clan-per-person...

However, if a person desires to be a member of more than one clan, they can PM sneaky or I to discuss it.
