Im still here obviously, I just came to the realization that talking for the sake of talking doesnt make sense to me anymore. If a topic comes up that interests me, I will talk.
Lol. Well, yeah. Thus, my desperate attempt at to bring up discussion on Bitterblossom's return to mode. I'm sure there's a thread for it, but I would rather talk to you guys.

I am having the absolute worst valentine's day ever. I may end up breaking it off with the teacher if she doesn't find time to hang out with me when she has time to hang out with her friends all day.
Someone jump online and shoot the ***** with me please. I'm really upset and can't even do anything about it because as always, I have my kids.

I have had tons of crap happen to me lately. Most recently having to sell all my shocklands, snapcasters, and other staples (that makes me wanna cry thinking about it) in order to round up the funds to visit my grandpa who is having heart difficulties and having surgery soon, so I will be revisiting again AND my great aunt who I was pretty close to, passed away from heart complications and went to that calling/funeral (4 and 7 hours away from my house, respectively). My fire for anything magic has been shot down the toilet (otherwise I'd be all over the Bitterblossom topic, and I LOVE that I called that Nacatl unban), I wanna play but I really don't have much of anything left. I am contemplating quitting all together if I am honest. This is all on top of my weather anxiety issues I am working through (last week and a half, had a foot of snow, ice storm, and as I type this a severe weather, tornado event just passed through).
As far as the site. I am trying my very best to get used to it, and I am not trying to complain, but it is super laggy for my computer, where the old site wasn't in the slightest, and it's harder to navigate. I just don't think I will adapt, but I am trying my best.
In another library (university), sparring with organic chemistry. My semester is filled with two things: group work and interesting ways to mutilate cellulose.

Lucas tried to introduce midichlorians as a explination of the force, which was just ridiculous and that is the one thing I wanna slap him for. However, it was never even implied as any type of "magical" ability, and without MCs, anyone could learn to use the force. I always thought of it, even as a kid, that it was cooperative communication at an atomic and/or sub-atomic level.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, but try not to be upset about losing your stuff to finance the visit/s. Snapcasters and Shocklands aren't going anywhere. You only get so much time with your grandpa, heart problems or not. If you need someone to talk to, I'm nearly always available, and I know what you're going through. My own Papaw just went in for a triple bypass last year, got in there and they had to do all 4 valves. He's almost 75, and has survived cancer like 3 times now, has horrible arthritis in his ankles(size of grapefruits), and Type 2 diabetes. So, any visit I have could be the last. If you need to take a sabbatical from mtg, then by all means, but this clan isn't just mtg. We're here for each other.
BTW, budget decks can win, and Icy Hot Hottie is pretty cheap, even in modern.

I thought the explanation of midichlorians was actually a step in the right direction. But when I see people waving their hand and making other people do their bidding, when I see someone wave their hand and lift up something without touching... I think of magic. And I prefer my magic with dragons, enchanted armour, and mind flaying wizards. While fantasy-science fiction can be combined to great effects, (see the Matrix franchise), I do not feel Star Wars is one of these things that does it well. Not for me, anyway. The force, to me, is magic. I just can't get down with that. Andromeda, Stargate... these are also things traditionally saw as science fiction with fantasy elements, and I love them. Maybe it's just the huge stigma of arguing with Star Wars fans my whole life, but I will just never, ever see star wars as science fiction. I see it as a space fantasy, (which is what Lucas calls it himself)..

Is there a video you have on hand of this? Jericho was my favorite wrestler when I was watching it. In fact, on my fifteenth birthday my mother arranged a meeting with him for me. We went and saw the Penguins play the Maple Leafs with my uncle. She still has pictures undoubtedly. I will see if she can dig them out when I speak to her later.

So, with one single, and debatable, element in question, the rest of the entire series is now disqualified? That seriously sounds like prejudicial stigma to me. I know by using the term "single element", I'm downplaying the significance of the element. But, still. The entire series could have worked without the Force entirely. You still have the power struggles, the rise of the Empire and rebellion. They Made millions of Clones to fight the war for christ's sakes! That had nothing to do with the force, and Episodes I - III were mainly fights between Robots and Clones...
I see it as a space fantasy, (which is what Lucas calls it himself)..
Part of being a Star Wars fan is to disagree with every decision Lucas makes with the franchise. Titles and all.

I read the bolded like..."Seriously? :eyebrow:", then you cleared it up with the gray. The entire series could have been made without the Force. I would have enjoyed it much more, and likely, would still be enjoying it today if that were the case. The Force is what makes Star Wars Star Wars though, am I right? There are some things that I really enjoy where the Force is actually the main focus of everything going on. Specifically, the Drew Karpyshyn novels and headed games. The movies just don't do it for me. And I will admit a large part of this undoubtedly comes from endless arguments on the validity of something being called "science fiction", which franchise is better or which is bigger, or what elements outside their original mediums.
Anyway, since George Lucas himself does not like it when folk call his baby "science fiction" and declares it not science fiction for the reasons I have mentioned, I'm going to have to agree with him on it. And while lots of science fiction dips into fantasy and a lot of fantasy dips into science fiction, (though less of that... unless one wants to get philosophical about it), I think, for the most part, there are lines separating the two genres, and Star Wars is def over those lines in ways that don't make sense to me.
FTR: I enjoyed the new or prequel trilogy way more than the classic or original trilogy.
Maybe it's just because I'm a die hard Trekker and get a bit upset when important Star Trek stuff is going on and all anyone wants to discuss outside SFI is Star Wars. Maybe I'm just a hater. I am, but I was a Trekker long before I was anything else that I still am. I hear a lot of Star Wars "diehards" not even giving Star Trek a chance, that also kind of puts me off Star Wars, however it works out in my head.

I'm a Star Wars fan, but that's because my first love was Fantasy, not Sci-Fi. And Digi was right on the money: the Drew Karpyshyn novels, especially about Darth Bane, were the best Star Wars stories.
This also makes sense. I'm not that big on fantasy. MtG and rpgs are about as far as I go with it. Still, some things I like. The Darth Bane trilogy was a really great read that I looked forward to wrapping up once I started the first one. I have not read Annihilation but Revan was pretty good. His work on the KoToR and KoToR2 are among the best writing I've ever encountered in a game outside Mass Effect. Speaking of Mass Effect, he has done like 90% of the source writing, (the novels, comics and games), and ME is the best military science fiction outside of Star Trek I've ever ran into. So maybe it's just Karpashyn.
I should probably read Revan soon... I just keep rereading stuff.

To be completely honest, I'm fine with it as Space Fantasy. I like Fantasy. Most often, it's better than real life. The sudden defense of Star Wars as Sci Fi, was really just razzing that I forgot was razzing. I, like most fans, don't really like a lot of what Lucas says and does, but it's not really science fiction. I will go on the record and say that I liked Jar Jar, didn't think Gungans were any type of racist, and thought they brought some comic relief to an otherwise overly serious saga. Gungans were for the kids, and I understand that sort of stuff to a fault. I ike Jar Jar Binks. I would like to point out, though, that I HAVE given Star Trek a serious try. DS9 has interested me, and I will eventually finish whatever seasons I have on Netflix. Picard is the effin' dude, and I really like Captain Sisko. Btw, I think Klingons, as a race, should be found to be real, and I would gladly have them over take the Universe, if not at least our Galaxy. As far as entertainment value, though, it has been at a premium. I guess in the long run, I'm just not really into Science Fiction. When I think about it, I really can't get into any of it. I liked the first Starship Troopers movie, both of the last two Star Trek movies, and thats about it.
You know what, I'm gonna go watch an episode now, before I go to sleep. I can Play FF XIII later. lol

Ohhhhhh. I didn't realize we you were just razzing me. I have Quark's Bar coasters somewhere in my mess. I love Deep Space Nine. It is my third favorite series of all time. Sisco is the *****. Worf made DS9 for me though, and subsequently, I'm not as a big fan of the first seasons as I am the later ones.

What type of mutations? I would like to point out that my first favorite moster movie was 'The Blob'.

Mutilation, not mutation. I'll drag those poor little innocent sugar molecules to my secret lab, gleefully rip off their hydroxyl groups and revel in their suffering ... BWAHAHAH!
...
This actually sounds a lot more entertaining that it will be.

You didn't even see me side. Dark fish, muahahahahaha!
I am honestly more excited to see Wild Nactl. This certainly makes naya a thing again.
Very sorry to hear about your grandfather and aunt. I hope they pull through. Also, selling your collection totally blows. I've only had to do it once and I never want to relive selling it or putting it back together.
I am not adjusting at all:( Phone posting is basically impossible.

You earned it:)
It was pretty damn lame, that's for sure. I have grown a great deal disinterested with her since. She has noticed and hopefully she tried to make up for it soon before I grow completely disinterested.

Lol, score one for misreading. This still, however, made me chuckle.
:ChrisFarleyvoice: Well, Lah dee FRICKIN' DAAAAH!!
I can phone post........barely. And not with quotes at all, at that.
I would like thing to work out in the right direction. If not, oh well, her loss. And we can just default on my last two words.

That sounds awesome. Are you going to make them reveal their secrets?
: P ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It will be. I am awesome.

Well they cancel.... .... but rescheduled for the next day.....
So since we got a lot of snow, we got a lot of melt. After said thing was done, I decided to do the gentleman thing and accompany her home. I take a step onto wet mulch and essentially I slid and fell. Halfway through, I decided that rolling was the best option to recover and I executed it flawlessly...
Except when I awoke the next day and found out I had to limp around....
540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyTo be completely honest, I'm fine with it as Space Fantasy. I like Avery Brooks in general(especially in American History X, one of my all time favorite movies), and the 90's was my sh..... I liked the Ferengi as a race, while I think Quark is a bastard, I still liked the interactions to the dynamic. I thought it was a little borrowed from Klingon, but I still liked it.
I can Play FF XIII later. lol
Good deal.
I still have yet to read. I REALLY need to revisit my local library. It's been months....
Dude, that sucks. Kudos for being a gent. Sometimes thats the price you have to pay, but it pays off in the end. Don't know all the details, but I would imagine that she was worth the limp. Hope she appreciates what you did, and that the limp goes away quickly.

She also initiated doing something this upcoming week, which isnt something I'v ever had happen before. I dont want to read into it too much, but its uncharted waters for me.
540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyI hear ya, my knee hates me sometimes(at home accident that dislocated my knee like a sideways L). As for the girl, Could be interest, could be appreciation, either way, I'd just go with it.

Ohhhhhh. I didn't realize we you were just razzing me. Here I am digging deeply in my conscious and trying to maybe see on some subconscious level as to why I don't think Star Wars isn't Fiction by trying to look outward on my obvious dislike and therefor negative bias of the franchise. You rascal:P
I have Quark's Bar coasters somewhere in my mess. I love Deep Space Nine. It is my third favorite series of all time. Sisco is the *****. Worf made DS9 for me though, and subsequently, I'm not as a big fan of the first seasons as I am the later ones.
When I first read this, I was like, "OMG, I hope she doesn't think he is a fumblenuts." Then I thought, "Does that make me an ******** I was more worried about the date's reaction to this than his actual safety?".
Anyway, apparently the date didn't mind as your next post sys. I hope you didn't mess up your leg too bad.
