I welcomed them before it was cool.
Now I want to make custom cards. Huzzah!
@Mirror, to be honest, it seems like the more work that actually has to go into it, the less likely it is that other clans will be interested. I think you may have better luck with a small clans card creation contest of some sort. Jmo, though.
I believe I will be hosting the first Clans Contest of the year. It is a create-a-mascot contest, and I really hope to see you all participating.

I don't think anybody is suggesting we limit games to one month long periods, or that we have to start a new one on the first of each month. It's more that a month is a reasonable time for a self-contained game to run for - long enough to be interesting, short enough not to drag on.
Having said that, if we run something (the Labyrinth, for instance) and it's a resounding success, there's no reason why we have to stop.

This is more accurate. No game can be 100% contained to a one-month period. Having a new game start each month wouldn't be bad though, since the end of a game is never as busy as the beginning and I don't think anybody would be overwhelmed.

Can we have Megiddo removed from the forum forever please?
i'm pretty sure i can find your ***** online within 3 minutes
Anyways, i'd like to request friendship with your noble clan. Flamingoes are the supreme lawn ornament, may garden gnomes forever tremble in your presence.
Thanks for the welcome anyway. Drop by Card Creation sometime and check out the fruit of our labors
Okay, this seems to be the current state of our projects:
- void, GM, Piar and Megiddo are finishing off the last YMTC. With any luck, we can make this a regular thing again.
- Battle Factory is up and running. It's looking really popular at the moment, so odds are we'll be doing more seasons of it in the future.
- The Club Flamingo Invitational will be held at the end of the year and is open for everyone who won a major contest this year. This will be the pinnacle of card creation contests, and will cover challenges in the style of all major contests (CCL, MCC, DCC, MecCC).
- We're looking at hosting a new game for March. Currently our choices are the Labyrinth Adventure and Magic Wars; MW is more developed, but Megiddo doesn't want to proceed until we have NotoriousLynx on board. That means that unless something else crops up in the meantime, we can start developing Labyrinth Adventure.
CrustaceanCrusader, do you think you could post up a summary of that tech tree game you were talking about last night?
Speaking of something cropping up... here's an idea:
CCC&G: Who's Got Talent?
In this game, people are allotted 6 talent points to spend in any of the five talent trees (one for each color, developed by the Clan. I have a rough outline of what I mean in an online spreadsheet). These function as people's restrictions for each round, but there will also be a generic goal/restriction for each round. Each week, players construct cards that conform to their talent specializations and post them in the Submissions thread by the submission deadline. Then a multiple choice poll is posted containing everyone's cards. Players vote using the same voting system as the Mecanic Creator Contest. Once voting is over, all votes that a player received are converted into talent points, which they then place into their talent trees. Players receive an additional point if they post reviews of other people's cards. When the next round is posted, players are then bound by their new talent tree's restrictions and the new goal/restriction. Once a player has accumulated 50 or more talent points/votes, the game is over - with ties being broken by score. If two or more players have the same winning score at this point, there will be an additional sudden death round, and a vote will be held for those player's submissions.
It isn't perfect yet, but that's what ironing things out in Chat is for!

Piar clinched the victory with his incredibly aggressive BG deck in a close match against my RG deck in the finals!
Thanks to the other participants, Oculus, avatarz, Stapler, summon_legend, and Doom Lich for making the draft a success!
Let's do it again sometime!
Man, I might really need to sign up for MTGO..

Announce whenever you're going to do a draft?
The chat gets pretty active when the aussies*, americans/canadians/mexican, and italianz all feel like being awake at the same time.
