So recently YouTube decided to make the boneheaded decision to delete one of the platforms most important features for searching past videos that have been archived by getting rid of the "Sort By Oldest" option which essentially allowed anyone to view older videos posted on someone's YouTube Channel. YouTube recently replied on Twitter with the following statement,

we’ve recently launched filters for content type on mobile (Shorts, Live, etc)
when adding these filtering options, we’ve run into issues bringing all the sorting preferences you’re used to. we know these features are important & we’re still exploring how to bring them back
It's been nearly two days and they still haven't fixed the issue yet. I've also noticed that YouTube's been fiddling around with their interface in terms of how videos are displayed while trying to upgrade the platform for other Social Media platforms with Tik Tok in particular. Some of the videos I've seen being uploaded in short segments less than 15 minutes was meant to be compatible with Tik Tok. I know rumble is already an alternative option to YouTube however searching for archived YouTube videos are going to be an even bigger pain now with just the Search History option.

I've mostly just resorted to searching and looking up YouTube videos through my personal Watch History anyway. Another reason why I think YouTube got rid of the "Sort By Oldest" function for searching archived videos on various channels is due to how the algorithm on YouTube works. Since the system is designed to "smash that like button" on videos to get viewers attention, having too many favorited videos on YouTube could potentially cause your PC to crash though I'm not sure If it's the same way on mobile devices. To remedy this problem YouTube was forced to delete older content regardless of how many views, likes, and subscribers these channels got and the technology they were trying to upgrade to compete with TikTok through YouTube Shorts made it difficult to keep all the archived data without deleting it.
This is why I also think the ASMR community on YouTube dwindled because most of their older content was getting deleted without notice and it actually had much better quality than most ASMR videos produced today which is unfortunate. It's also important to remember that YouTube has become more of a online business for content creators because back in the day it was less about the money and more about freely expressing yourself where as now it's gotten much harder to do so without YouTube cracking down on your channel. It also sort of paved the way for people who used to work In-Person now work Remotely without getting out of their homes no thanks to the pandemic which in turn directly competed against the manual labor market in which Local Game Stores (LGSs) make up a very small portion of.

I believe it. I searched for something at the bottom of my Liked playlist and it was chugging by the end, about 1,700 videos. "Shuffle" will only play from a chunk of the videos, as well.
Only on mobile youtube it seems? Desktop seems just fine, the oldest button remains
They added it back a few days ago.
They actually did add back the "Sort By Oldest" function recently except they made it almost impossible to find older content posted since the channels' inception which was more than likely taken down by YouTube themselves probably due to a lack of sufficient likes and views which is unfortunate. So If you've been a YouTube content creator for over 10+ years then there's a very good chance that most of the videos posted within the first few years since you first created your YouTube channel have probably already been taken down by YouTube themselves.
If you've been posting YouTube content for at least 2 years or so then you should be in the clear unless your channel is inactive either by not uploading new videos frequently or by not completely watching YouTube videos within a 6 month period with an active Google account. It also seems as though YouTube is trying to get rid of free music and podcasts on their platform due to not wanting to be entangled with copyright strikes while pressuring people to go to other social media platforms like SoundCloud and Substack to get most of that kind of content.
