It was a creature in Magi Nation. It's a little mushroom that you can get very early that eventually learns one of the most powerful attacks in the game. I liked the game a lot when I was younger and used it for an early forum screenname (plus some numbers, which I dropped when I made this account because I was no longer 12). I've just kept using it when it's available.
It has no relation to and predates weeaboo, despite the similarities.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
When I originally started playing World of Warcraft, I started an Alliance character before finding out that most of my friends played Horde. When I made the switch, I had deleted my first character before naming the second, and forgot to write down the name I'd originally come up with. I could only remember that it started with Airi, so I just mashed the thne on the back because it sounded elfy, and I was rolling a Blood Elf.
It just kind of grew on me, so it's somewhat become my internet handle over the last several years, despite the fact that it's extremely difficult to spell or pronounce for most people at a glance.
Ooooh, oooh, so there is this card called Elvish Piper and when I was a teenager I thought that, heh ehheh eheh, that, heheh, that it should be Elvish CRACK Piper, hahaha. You know... uhh, because drugs are funy?Y?YY?
So in my twenties I would basically chase anything with two legs in a skirt(as I was told by disapproving friends). In my hometown we'd refer to male ****s as "dogs". One night, when I was on the receiving end of a good ribbing, I was told that "not only was I a dog, but that I was the cheesiest dog around". From that point forward I was then called "Cheese Dog". Which then eventually got translated into Spanish, seemed much more funny that way. Hence the Perro de Queso. Years ago when made my first online account somewhere I mistyped "perro", so now because of muscle memory I keep it that way.
@ Elvish Crack Piper: drugs are not funny, but they sure are fun!
Actor's name, great Tom Courtenay. Known for his work in the 60's especially in David Lean's Doctor Zhivago. Also form Yo La Tengo's song Tom Courtenay off theire 1995 album.
I have had this name since before 2000.
Yeah.
I feel old.
I got the name Rai from playing a Starcraft game. There was a character in User Map Settings game, and I liked the name Rai more than my current which was Kuraino Tsukai. I took Rai as my name. Kerensky was from a RPG game of Batteltech where I won the bloodname Kerensky with a lucky die roll and I kept decided to pair it with Rai to create the name Rai Kerensky as my nickname in my group. It stuck throughout the years and used it online. It has been my main name despite my many accounts on another site.
It's one of the most badass swords of all time, and I just love the name "Glamdring."

Mine comes from the show Legends of the Hidden Temple that was on Nickelodeon back in the day. I am a huge Tennessee Vols fan and so Orange is one of my favorite colors. The Orange Iguanas were the team that used orange for their team color so I always found myself rooting for them to win. I always told myself back then that if I ever got the chance to go on the show I would be an Orange Iguana. I never got that chance and now 20 years later I figure why not self appoint myself an honorary Orange Iguana. So I did.

I used to love the candy Nerds, but I stopped eating them when I realized that for me, it was basically cannibalism. -- Rob O'Reilly
I remember I've been using the same username since I started playing World of Warcraft back in 2008. Couldn't really think of something creative so I just started thinking of bands I liked a lot back then
Motley being From Motley Crue the Slayer fropm Slayer of course
TBH I haven't really enjoyed my username in a few years. I guess that's what happens when you make a name involving bands you used to like a lot but don't enjoy as much anymore (Motley Crue being that band)
When I joined my first ever forum years ago (can't remember what it was), I just couldn't think of a cool username idea. Eventually, I gave up and thought of the most generic username I could think of; 'yo' (pretty common greeting), 'dude' (common slang term), and 4 since it's my favorite number. I've used it everywhere I go since that day.
Before MTG, I was (and still) am a huge fan of fighting games.
Tongue of the Fatman was one of the first, Mondu_the_Fat (complete with underscore, was the final boss of that game. When alt.games.sf2 was made, I joined up with that username,
It stuck when I joined MTGNews, then since I wanted to keep the same persona grom News to Salvation, I used that username as well.

I introduced my play group to magic. I was the U loving blue player I am now. I drove them away from the color blue towards the colors green and red because of more controlling tempo strategies. I still play with them now and always joke around with them whenever they ask me why all my decks contain blue, bluemasterrace man... can't beat it.
