Compared to other MTGSers? I don't know. One thing I've learned is raw intelligence doesn't count for much if you don't know how to use it.
As far as my capabilities in real life, I'd say I'm in the top 5%. In real life I frequently work and am respected by people with decades more experience than I have. I've always scored off the charts on aptitude tests (which was SO helpful choosing a career field), and my IQ leaves me in the top 5% of Americans. I try to work on my narcissism
As far as my nerd cred, pretty high.
As far as my magic playing ability? Medium to fair. I'm not going to be a braggart here. I'm probably at the top of my playgroup, but it's a small pond and I frequently get trounced outside of the group. Although in sealed tournaments I usually do respectably considering the amount of practice I get.
I've always been a very bright guy, but the older I get, the more I realize there are way WAAAAY smarter folks out there. Many of them. This has been quite sobering, and honestly, it's been a good thing.
I'm definitely at the bottom of the barrel. I scared the crap out of myself the other day when I was at a friends house and could not for the life of me remember how to write a lower case "g".
I said "Oh God, I've spent so much time on the internet I've become dumb in the real world!".
It eventually came back to me. But still, you have to be a very special kind of stupid to forget even for a moment how to write basic English. Not even English, basic alphabet!
I love how so far I'm the only one that's even close to average. If we're even a slight approximation to a bell curve, that leads me to believe you're basically all wrong.
I wonder if that implies I should have voted higher...
While I would imagine most MTGS users are pretty smart, I think what this poll reveals has less to do with how smart MTGSers are, but how full of themselves they are. As of this post, 36% believe themselves to be in the top 2%?

To be fair, people in general are like that. It might be a little more skewed on here but if you expected anything resembling a normal bell curve for something like this on any sample, hah.

I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
I went with top 2%.
I scored in the 100 percentile on a CA state math test once. My dad bought me ice cream for it. Looking back on it, my dad sucks butthole.
Top 2-5% or thereabouts I suppose. FWIW the IQ test I did for my current job gave me a score of 130; not sure how that compares relative to the super-egos of MTGS

I beat you by 1, hahahahaha. You're so dumb.
Is that what you wanted?
Ha, mods, don't kill me. It was all in good fun.
Also, I think you and I should play MtG in cage, then brawl afterward. Even though I'm definitely no where close to your weight class.

I had a formally-administered aptitude test once. The results weren't given in terms of IQ, though I was told that my IQ would be around 145 (i.e. around three standard deviations from the norm). Which would put me in the highest percentile as far as intelligence goes. It was something like 99th percentile for math, over 99th percentile for linguistic ability, I forget the others offhand.
I don't put too much stock in it, though. It's basically just interesting trivia to me.

Depends on the test, as low as 125 and high as 140, normally around the mid 130 range. My SAT scores hover around 2200 as another metric. (never studied)

I did the same as glimyr is why i put top 2. I took 3 tests, got 99th percentile twice and the last one got at leat 98th but they didnt go higher than that. Cause you only need 98th percentile to get in.
Teai, Glimoyr, me and weebo are the 4 i know who got similar scores on tests now.
I went with between 20% and 30%. When I was younger I probably would have gone with top 2% as well, but between what I perceive as degradation, and knowing personally someone on the site that outclasses me by a wide margin, I can't realistically consider that anymore without wondering if it's just my ego rearing its head.
I haven't taken any kind of formal test in years, since I was a child. My scores then were more than exemplary, but like I said, degradation and all that rot.
I picked 60%-70%... I have never taken any such tests for this type of thing before, but after knowing that lots of people on here are in 99th percentile, I figured that I wouldn't rank that highly around here. For all I know, maybe everyone else on here is in the "99th percentile" range, which could put me on the bottom.

I'm about the same - although I took the old SAT with the 1600 limit (1340 without studying - a bad score but I attribute some of that to showing up at the wrong testing facility and being freaked out).
My intelligence is far more in quick-thinking and creative solutions than anything else. I learn a skill ridiculously quickly, but I lose it just as quickly too. It sucks for fighting games, because I'm frequently one of the best out of my friends, but if we take more than a few weeks between games I have to start all over, essentially.
Essentially, you are comparing your intelligence with the intelligence of other MTGS users.
Should I have let people see who voted what on the poll?
I went with being smarter than 2/3rds of you.
