Quote from HighrollerUseful information:
1. What kind of store?
2. What are you selling specifically? What kind of games? Are there comics? Are there arcade games? Warhammer or other miniatures? What about tournaments?
You already said you're selling Yugioh and such, so cards are definitely in. What else?
3. What's your gimmick?
4. What specific customer base do you wish to attract?
5. Any noteworthy or interesting trivia about the area you're opening in?
House of Cards is a fantastic name. Good work.

Quote from MattYou won't be able to use actual card names. Power 9 is fine though.
Quote from Timothy, MimeslayerHow about calling it "Local Gaming Store" or LGS for short?
Quote from MisclickIsn't there a very successful website company with that name? Or did they go out of business?
Quote from the humanitywhat about Gamer's Games?
stupid enough to be remembered as a funny name, and should attract fun people in.

Quote from dcartistWhen you get down to your short list, you might want to go someplace where they have Yu-gi-oh moms (or a message board for Yu-gi-oh parents) and ask them what store name would most appeal to them to take their kid to.
I think the Magic players in general, will find you, and don't really care what the name is, but a HUGE cash source is Yu-gi-oh, and for that, you need the parents to be interested in taking their kids there.
At my friend's store, Magic and teen/college level gaming was what he loved, but Yu-gi-oh parents really helped to pay the bills.
if you have a short nime, or there is an abreviation,
something like "mike´s game and cardstore".
Its just a terrible name.
Parents, grandparents, and basically everybody not into fantasy, won´t understand that it´s a Game store.
Also, tu use "dump" in a name, no way man, that word has too many negative things attached to it.
Quote from XanthThe House of Cards sounds like an A+ choice to me. Good luck, TapSnap. I own a hobby shop in Springfield, VA, so I may indeed hear about your store every now and then
I have a few tips for you: there are thousands of players who are familiar with going to the Baltimore Convention Center for big MtG events. If you find a location near there, you may increase your business during such events, and I would wholeheartedly recommend looking into renting a spot in the convention center to run your own large-scale tournaments there at some point. YuGiOh is hit-or-miss here in Virginia, but I often hear that it is much more popular in Maryland, so you may want to make sure you have enough of the YuGiOh product line available and that you get in contact with Konami to run official YuGiOh tournaments.
Again, good luck! Feel free to PM me with questions.
