Liliana is a perfectly normal name. So is Elspeth (if not a little old school), Gideon and Nicholas or Nicole. At least with these kind of names it's not so painfully obvious that you're a tool.
But when I see little kids running around being called Garruk, Chandra, Ajani, Sorin, Sarkhon, Venser and Koth, I might have to choke a *****.
I have a niece or nephew named Sorin, I can't remember which though as it's a part of the family I don't know too well. I just know that they have a kid named Sorin.

Jace is a perfectly normal name (for a boy) and most people will have no idea where it came from.
My first son is named Clark (totally after Superman). My father in law's first name is even Kent so I tried for the middle name but the wife nixed that (probably best). I then tried to name my 3rd son Bruce but he is now Brent with the middle name Wayne (which is my dad's first name).
Clark is only 5 now with no problems but we will see in the future. I have talked to older Clarks and they had few problems and liked their name.
Basically, if there aren't too many issues with Clark then there shouldn't be too many issues with Jace as FAR fewer people will know who Jace Beleren is as compared to Superman.
Comments about meeting another Jace and 13 loyalty counters were HILARIOUS.
He is so man, he is mario, and I will tell my opponents such. As and when I bounce their permanent I will exclaim "MARIO" as though he were stomped on by our mighty Jace. Every time someone kill him I will give them 99 USD (not AUS!!!) because their lightning bolt should cost 100 DOLLARS...
Jace even made it into the Teenage Super Hero Mutant Ninja Hero Turtles.
My nephew's name is Jayce, obv not after Jace, but we've gotten great comments on that choice of name. You will have to accept that some people may call him Jacey, just because it's cute.
Well, I suppose you won't have to accept it, just be prepared for it.
I don't see what would be wrong with Garruk, Chandra, or Sorin all sound pretty normal, but if I ever meet a Koth, Venser, Ajani I'd probably have to shake their hand.
P.S. Dakkon is such an awesome name.

if you feel its a good idea to name your son after a card game character, maybe your not mature enough to have a baby yet
There's everything wrong with this.
You could say naming your son Jesus is naming your kid after a character in a novel, depending on what your beliefs are.
The only thing that should matter is whether or not you like the name. How many kids do you think were named Luke after Luke Skywalker? I guarantee you it's far more than one.
Also, in what universe is Jace a feminine name? I think you'll find yourself in the opinionated minority there, but femininity is part opinion anyway.

Seeing this made me smile. My last name is walker. So thinking about the name made me "L-O-L"
But for the sake of relevance-I see nothing wrong with the name. I don't think it's a ridiculous name. or a common name. So go for it
Also, this thread is the most win I've come across for a thread not completely related to the actual trading card aspect of this forum. So many lulz.
Why? I know a Jace, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know MTG exists.
One: This is neither here nor there, but IMO, it's just not a cool name. It sounds made up (and according to various name databases, it is despite there being more than a few people named that these days, unfortunately). I know a Jace and it doesn't help that he's an idiot.
Two: When that kid grows up, do you think he's gonna think it's cool that he's named after a Magic card? That he'll enjoy admitting that to people? That he'll thank his dad for it? That as a result, he too will love Magic the Gathering?
The answer to all these questions is invariably "no."

Right, but a name doesn't pre-determine whether you'll be an idiot or a genius. It's just a name.

No one said the kid had to tell the truth. He can even just say that his parents came up with it because they're losers. Or, he can grow up to be a fantastic magic player and just happen to have the same name as a lot of people's favorite card.
If the guy wants to name his kid Jace, I really see no problem with it. It's not a name that will be made fun of easily, and it's not a common name, which generally results in classmates really liking that name.

Let's just hope his chances aren't so limited and he is able to grow in a supportive family, both core and extended.
That way he will be able to build a legacy to be proud of.
Edit: OP are you Scottish in any way?

The thing is, regular names just don't have that epic feel to them.
