Extra lives save you from death by kill or lynch
At the start of the game the Witches learn the unassigned role. A single Witch may trade their own role with that role, allowing the Witches a limited amount of optimization of their role assignments.
Role Kill: When the Witches choose their kill target, they may also name a role. If that player has this role, they are killed two times. If they are not that role, they will instead survive the kill attempt.
Roles: Gravedigger - At the start of each odd numbered night, you learn the flip of anyone who died during that day.
Undertaker - At the start of each even numbered night, you learn the flip of anyone who died during that day.
Judge - At the end of any day the players fail to select a player to hang, you may privately decide yourself, ignoring any extra lives that player may have.
Assassin - Once per game during the day, guess the role of a player other than yourself. If correct, they are killed.
Hunter - The first time a player survives being killed, you may kill a player other than yourself the following night.
Dirty Old Bastard - Once per game when your death is announced, you may kill a player.
Benevolent Old Dame - Once per game when your death is announced, you may give a player an extra life.
Survivalist - You start the game with an extra life.
Angels/demons: Dead players remain in the game to help their teams.
All dead players may communicate in a chat.
Dead villagers become angels. They vote who to visit each night. That player is protected from a kill.
Dead witches become demons. They may haunt a player each night. If that player is visited by angels, the protection fizzles and the demon loses this ability.
(If youre familiar with big witchhunt, this is one of the simplifications. Dead players dont learn information, haunting is single target and works more concretely. Etc)
Quote from Slothful »So I have some question/statements about the set up, let me know if I'm not understanding
-The only way to get an extra life is through BOD or being a Survivalist, correct?
-Everyone gets 1 role
-The 8th role left is the one one of the witches can choose to switch for her own ability
-Does being successfully Role Killed keep you from becoming an Angel/Demon?
-The angels know who the other dead townies are
-Role assignment is completely random; both the DOB and the DOB could be scum, same for gravedigger and undertaker, there are no dichotomies or town/scum-sided roles since everything is up to chance?
Quote from tomsloger »-no, they are in a chat with all dead players. They dont learn flips
Quote from Killjoy »KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
