And so begins our epic tale
Of knights of shield and sword
A tale told way too many times
You may have gotten bored
But fret ye not, ye gentle lot
For twas a strange affair
When came a jester to the town
His fine song in the air
He sang it proud and merry
To kings and queens and squires
Until they tired of his fair tune
And threw him in the fire
And as his body burned that day
The castle set alight
And as the king's fair knights did flee
It burned all through the night
They stood and watched it burn and burn
The brave and courtly men
And said, "Why do we jesters burn
When what they are are friends?"
Said Merlin, wizened as he was
"Tis true, but as you know
Those who jest do jest because
Their songs do often blow
Only by singing quite so badly
Can they be recognized
As tragic artists, misunderstood
By those they patronize."
The knights conversed, and then remarked
"That's a really stupid thought."
And then a serial killer came
And murdered the whole lot.
The moral of this story be:
Turn not away a minstrel
For he may have the final laugh
When you're all turned to... schnitzel.
This is Experiment #5 - Courtly Intrigue Mafia, a game for 5 players.
This setup contains 3 Townies, 1 Serial Killer, and 1 Jester, who wins alone if he is ever lynched. Day start.
The setup uses modified kingmaker rules. Each day, players may elect a king by posting with the syntax Elect: Xyre. A player who receives a majority of these votes becomes king for the day, and is the sole determiner of the lynch. Kings may not lynch themselves, nor may they no-lynch.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
