One, I don't think the player base is straining, Chimes are just unpopular. Two, it's a simple matter to just continue to not fire Raging Levene's game while we wait for him to finish his current one.
Well, it's certainly not straining now but that's because we still have a mini, two basics and a speciality empty. When those games start signups I think they will have problems filling, probably more prominent in the last one. I agree with Levine's solution (as I proposed it in the first place) but neither you or I can decide for him.
But whatever, this has no impact onto me anyway, so I will not post anything about this issue anymore, you guys do whatever you want.
In my opinion, the player base isn't strained at all. This is the second or third game in a row that's gotten double it's sign-up amount easily. I don't think every game has to fill. Some games might not be wanted due to the host or the rules or the set-up or etc. I don't believe it's necessary to throttle supply until the demand is high enough to accept whatever is thrown at us.
You may be correct here, but I think we had a high demand now because we are behind on signups, loads of games finished at the same time and we haven't managed to put all their sucessors online so far.
Oh, but you should buddy, the fact that your game managed to run despite being an ugly baby means we love you very much.

The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
- Would you rather I run two versions of the game simultaneously in secret subforums, a la Cyan's Impossible Mafia, or would you rather I run only one version in the main forum?
No preference on the multiple versions. I didn't have any issues with CIM or Cyberspace being in a different sub-forum, so OK with either.
- If I run two versions of the game, would you rather I distribute players randomly between the two games, or would you rather I make one of the games an "invitational" version? (The way I envision the latter, I'd designate 8-9 players as "invitational" players, put them in one game, and distribute the rest randomly.)
If you do go the double-game route, I really enjoyed playing with the "old gang" over in the "invitational version", but again, good either way.
- What is your favorite game of mafia ever on this forum? (No points for sycophants.)
Elegant Mafia. I really enjoyed the flavor, the players, and the roles.
Disrupt Your Hymn...Things just got interesting. LETS BRING EVERYONE OUT OF RETIREMENT
I'm fairly certain my favorite mafia on this site was either...Douglas Adams or Sin City.

I feel loved.
You'll get truly loved after making an Eeveelution 2 with the new ones from Black and White 2!
(And making sure berry usage is limited in other ways besides XP, PLEASE.)
I'm working. I'm working.
Though right now I am working under the guise of using original eeveelutions that I created (and one that I stole, but it's a cool one) that aren't made yet. Plus no more healing berries.
Would you rather I run two versions of the game simultaneously in secret subforums, a la Cyan's Impossible Mafia, or would you rather I run only one version in the main forum?
No preference; I suppose it should be based on demand (how many you have signed up). Although, its worth taking into account activity spread across 2 games would be thinner than activity focused on 1 with a pool of replacements.

As the Host, you reserve the right to make an invitational game. That sounds fun.

I still have to say Asphodel Meadows. The truth serum was the coolest power I've ever had.
Esper Simperer; Even the court homonculi need someone to look down on.
Jund Fangirl; Few things can describe the bliss of the fangirl's cries fading to silence (broken by occasional munching sounds).
Grixis Emo; 'Why should I go out there? They're all uncaring zombies! *sniff* No one understands me...' Bant Wageslave; Behind every successful knight is a corporate drudge doing his taxwork.
Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.
I will sign up to /replace. Even you may need some of those.
Currently in 0 games. Not going to state preferences for invitational/split version.
And I'm not sure any game on here is going to take the place of Fiasco Corp for me. Great flavour, my first game here (thanks for recruiting me!), and I won as SK.
HAAAA!!!! I can't believe how little has changed in this community.
I wish I could play in this, but the Hobbit is on like page 4 and I'm already falling behind. What is spectating? I don't remember that from the good ol' days, can I do that?

Oh yeah, of course. Anyone who's in a game will get to join their game's QT. It's just that I don't want to have to keep nagging Rascals about permissions. So I'm adding outside spectators once and only once.

If you get him to set up a spectator usergroup like he did for Cyberspace, then users just have to apply to it from their user panel and you allow or deny access as you see fit. It's really easy, you get PM notification and everything.

Well, since I have two games running, I figured it was just easier to use two QTs to minimize information transfers (and save myself some paperwork).
EDIT: On that note, signups are closed. I've chosen the invitational players and have begun the balloting. Players who have gotten in will receive PMs beginning today with their role.
EDIT2: All PMs have gone out. To the two of you who didn't get in, sorry about that. But I'll keep you in mind for replacement.

I meant just for access to the game threads themselves. QTs for Spec chat makes sense, but you can use usergroups to make read/write access to the game threads really easy.

You know how long I've been playing - my join date is the same date as the beginning of my mafia career here.
Favourite game?... If it's the ones I've been in, I'd say Inheritance, followed by Hecatea, followed by original Amistaria.
Ones I haven't been in, I'd have to say Hats, followed by Cyberpunk.

I have a QuickTopic set up for each of the games where people can find out who's who, see the setup, and talk about it privately.
After both games have gone to Night 1 or something, I'll open it up, one time only, to outside spectators for both games.
