The year is 2236, and through much trial and error, we have succeeded in one of the first attempts to bring back famous men and women from the past, to the present time. Choosing 19 different people, our hopes will be to help guide our chaotic world, back to a more peaceful time. Some of these people might be famous generals, leaders, or influential men with the power to help change this world back to the golden days, before the 22nd century.
From all time period and all around the world have been brought back to our time for an unknown purpose. Some may want to improve the well-being of the world, while others want a second chance at life. However, some of these men and women have a more sinister agenda. Much of the lives of these individuals is shrouded in mystery. Some of the characters we look towards as our greatest heroes, may in fact be our greatest enemies. As all 19 of you come together to meet about changing the world, you must figure out who will help you succeed, and who will hinder your passage. There is no time like the present, so get cracking!
Each character in FHF is based on a real person. The alignments to what they stand for are unknown, so I would caution those who think they have pinned evil.
IMPORTANT RULES TO KNOW before SIGNING-UP.
If any of you remember my basic, you know I am a tad stricter when it comes to waiting between posts. You are expected to post at least once every 48 hours.
If real life prevents the above from happening, simply let me know. I am a very understanding man, and can grasp that Real Life > Mafia Game.
If you achieve three unexcused prods in a single game day, I may decide to replace your role. If any role is replaced more than once, barring extreme circumstance, that role will be mod killed regardless of alignment or game state.
Finally, anyone can sign-up with higher priority being with those who have less games. So when signing up, list two things: #1: The total number of games you are in. And #2: Who your favorite famous (preferably deceased) figure from history is (could be a sports person, president, and is not restricted to the United States).
Have fun, and maybe you will learn some interesting facts along the way!

The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
Sounds pretty great. I'm a history fan, so I'll /in
1. I'm in 2 games at the moment (I'm counting RagingLevine's Basic that hasn't officially started yet, but I'm in)
2. Wow - There are so many to choose from. Lincoln is a top 3 for everything that he did for the country. General Douglas McArthur for what he was able to do in the Philippines. DaVinci for his incredible mind.
I may change to /in, but I couldn't handle another game until after New Years' at least.
1. In two games currently.
2. Wow, that's tough. It's probably a draw between Benedict Arnold and James Polk for US history.
Arnold saved the Continental Army from eventual defeat by stalling the British Navy at Valcour Bay, with a navy that he oversaw the construction of at a fort he had captured himself. He also led the final charge on the British defenses at Bemis Heights (while drunk and injured), securing a victory at Saratoga and consequently an alliance with the French. That whole turncoat business is overblown.
Polk, meanwhile, added more land to the US than any President to date (and he did it all legally; thank you very much Thomas Jefferson) -- after being elected he worked with then-President Tyler to annex Texas, and after formally taking office he acquired the Oregon territory through peaceful compromise and the Mexican Cession after winning the Mexican-American War. He also reduced tariffs and reestablished the Independent Treasury System (it had problems, but at the time it was a hell of a lot better than using private institutions). Greatest President the country has seen.
For world history I'd say Subutai. If you're going to praise Genghis Khan do it for his politics and diplomacy, because Subutai was the real driving force of the Mongol war machine and the greatest general to walk the Earth.

I will /in for this. I would also like to announce publicly that I am going to try to adjust my style for this game, whether town or scum. I am currently in 0 games.
Favourite historical figure: I'll go with Trajan, emperor of Rome. Under him, the Roman empire reached its peak expansion, and he was universally regarded as being just and wise.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

In 0 games on any site. But, I'm telling you all now that, due to RL, I will not have a ton of time to post in this game. Likely one post every couple of days (which I do see is the listed posting requirement in the rules, Xander.) They will be long posts, full of content, but they will be sparse. Because I know that this will be the case, and this is a large game with many people, I'm also going to attempt this achievement:
Because there are so many people in this game, this should affect the game itself too terribly much. There will be plenty to do while you are waiting for me, I'm sure.
This is an entirely personal goal and will have no bearing on my alignment, you know, since I don't have one yet. You are forewarned.
Favorite person in history is Jane Goodall. Her work with primates was unparalleled.

I don't know Seppel, so he shouldn't know me... unless he's been spying on me...
/in/replace, 0, Rousseau for his work on the Social Contract. Plato is also up there, as are Sun Tzu & Genghis Khan+Subutai.I generally dislike history outside of war & philosophy, for full disclosure.
You don't know Seppel. This could be highly probable.
Of course, he could just be showcasing the highly likely chance that you are a gimmick.
