@Tammy: Have you formed an opinion on GJ yet? You were kinda going back and forth trying to clarify what he was thinking... did that do anything for you?
Oh gosh no. Where I'm at right now is that I feel like there's something rotten in the whispers of a deposed monarch, and I'm not sure if it's one, both, or neither at this moment. I don't like the argument that it was wolfy that you didn't find anything to move the game forward with by page two. Think that's a silly thing to push for that early in the game. (As an aside, scumGJ kind of defended Axelrod on a similar attack where someone though Axel hadn't been memorable by page three and he kind of scoffed at that. Not sure what to do with that in relation to this though, maybe nothing.) I didn't like the frustration at Rhand's rp because it didn't feel real. Oh and I didn't like the comment where he complained that he was doing more solving than anyone; though I could see this coming from either alignment.
That's really flimsy though and it could really add up to nothing quite frankly. It's just that something feels wrong? And it might more be the interaction between him and whisper? Whisper feels kinda posturey about things, like he's grandstanding. This is both in relation to you and to Johnny. I think whisper missed Silver's point that you're unlikely to self resolve by day three because there might be higher priority nk targets because he kinda sidestepped that point to grandstand about how he can leave you until day three and he doesn't want to hear about Johnny's question stuff regarding you. I got a similar feeling about his comment about Johnny's lack of vote. If Johnny is telling the truth about him being a conservative voter and Whisper has played with him several times then how does that go unnoticed? I might be projecting here, but I'm a conservative voter myself and it gets brought up nearly every game I play, either by people teasing me about it or questioning it because they find it suspicious. So even if he did know that Johnny was a conservative voter, and still wanted to call him out for not voting at that moment, why was his response to Johnny saying he was a conservative voter, "Cool, I'm not". The response just felt super posturey and not really the response you'd have to a scum read? IDK it just felt off. So then I was like is there some distancing going on here?
So that's where I'm at, nothing concrete, something feels off, don't know if it means anything for sure but stay tuned for my next episode where I decide what flavor syrup to put on my waffles. It'll be riveting.
This is a bit off: if I was reading this without the context of the first sentence ("oh gosh no"), I would 100% say that this is your case for why you DO find GJ, at the very least, scummish.
What's pulling you back?
The oh gosh no is more in relation to the last question. Him wondering if my interaction did anything to clarify things for me.
I'm not exactly sure what feels off or what you're asking at the end there. Yes, I find GJ scummy and I wonder if there's some distancing going on with Last Whisper, but I'm nowhere near confident about this. The things I don't like about GJ could also be coming from town. Although I can add to this that I also don't like that he likes Chad's wall; his reason for liking it is a bit superficial and at least my memory of GJ is that his scum hunting is a more deeper than that.
Reads for me are a mental process, and this is part of my process more than it is a case. This is a snapshot of where I am in the process of getting this read, and I don't know how much merit it has right now.
(I just woke up from a nap so I'm not sure if I'm processing your question right, but if I didn't answer it, ask me again or clarify?)
What I meant is that a previous statement had you saying you were fencesitting on GJ; however the way you explain it makes it seem like you're not on the fence, you're at least scumleaning on him.
It's not hugely important, at least not from what I can see, more of a curious move that you are going out of your way to flat-out call him scummy until now, where nothing in particular has changed from the way he's playing.
Meh, please note that I am writing this with little sleep so if it sounds like random nonsense, we're even.
As for your stance, okay so maybe it's just me who got caught up in the math, but it doesn't change much. My vote on Sloth came after his response to my initial jab. As I've already stated, I read your responses as genuine whereas his read fake to me. So again, there's really no comparison.
You're framing this as though my vote is simply for that initial scattershot post, but it is not. It is for his response to the initial accusation. Sloth basically refusing to even have this conversation at this point just replying "no u" and scoffing the whole thing off pretty much solidifies it at this point.
Sigh. My sweet summer child, that is not what your takeaway should be.
Listen, I'm not engaging in a conversation with you about what you're saying because what you're saying is nonsense. This is not a jab, it's just objectively true. I'm not trying to point out how you're wrong because (1) you'd just dig your heels in, and (2) other players already have pointed out basic reasons why your responses and moves are based on faulty logic - which should be a clue btw: Either you're probably just wrong or no one else agrees with your obviously accurate assessment because...reasons.
I'm also not engaging because the more time that happens the more it seems to me that you're just stubborn townie with wounded pride that wants to be right. I feel scum would have probably backed off or not been quite so zealous?
Essentially, there's zero net benefit to me talking to you right now. If you do something I find objectively more scummy than just stubborn, I'll press on it but since that hasn't happened yet, go you.
my wincon is kill 3 of 5 people, via being on their train and/or my ability, my ability does very little too people who aren't my target, so u don't have to worry me killing literally anyone, and I don't kill, I just take vitality
I am not a serial killer, I would certainly not be able to achieve my win-con by claiming
anyways can I lol-cat now?
Ugh. I hate that train thing.
(1) Do you face any consequences if you hit someone who isn't your target with your ability? (2) Can you use it any time?
Why? You've answered this. I haven't played with Wisp as much as you, sure, but I don't remember there a claim as out-there as this one.
Btw, your ISO is barren, just commentary. Do you have anything to say?
On Wisp specifically, what is your read on him? Seems "scum" but want to confirm.
ya but like again this GJ/Me linkage was dumb pre-flip, and I didn't want that has some false reason to bully GJ, and I'd rather just be left alone to do my own thing, since I was already getting heat for reasons I consider dumb, especially given my meta
I'm reading this as "as some false reason" so correct me if wrong.
But I don't understand that this means, the only ones running a you-GJ narrative were Silver (who was more casual than active pursuant) and Rhand (who is more focused on you); everyone else's reads are independent of each other. If you flip and are 3rder then we would have confirmation not to bully GJ in relation to you, so...?
Also @all right off the bat, I'm advocating to reach majority as soon as it feels like a reasonably good bet, which will 100% be before a 2-week mark.
I understand the idea that we should make use of all the time available to make sure we're hitting scum.
On the other hand I cannot imagine a more boring hell than a 2-*******-week drag-along culminating in reaching a vote we knew we would reach several days ago.
My sweet spot is 5 days, btw. 7 for D1, and even that's like...ehhh.
”I think we should cut Day One in half for no reason!”
… No. No, we should not.
You can **** off, yes we should.
Kind of like the manic energy in the rest of your post, and we have some common ground to speak of, so neat.
You said you wanted to yeet Wisp second before the claim - what were your reasons? Your posts makes it look like "he's 3rder, kill it" as the only reason.
Maybe GJ isn't a wolf, and it's just highroller, since that post howlssss. Keeping my vote, I didn't shade anyone also
I take 1 vit from people I don't need to target and 3 from people I do, it still requires in worlds of 7 starting vit, 3 days phases to kill someone by myself. Actually 3 day phases to set up and a night phase to off them
Wait, you steal vitality?
That's like...in the post.
You mentioned only having time to skim right now, so fair, but you're actually replying to a post that had the information you're asking about and following up with no inference or investigation.
This is what I was talking about when I say you're kind of just looking for things to jump on and busywork - where were you going with this?
@Vaimes: Why did you only find my vote suspicious after Cuth voted me for it?
@Rhand: Huh, ok, that makes me feel a little better about you, I think. I was tinfoiling that you were RP'ing to pocket me (and maybe others). I LOVE roleplay (as long as it doesn't hinder communication, which yours wasn't for me), which is why games with Tom are almost always enjoyable for me. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out if you actually didn't know that/forgot it, or if my tinfoil just deepened a layer.
@Wisp: Holy carp I had forgotten that 0V equals death:
Vitality: Vitality is a player's life force. If a player reaches 0 Vitality (abbreviated as 0V) they will die. There are several abilities including the Night Kill that may cause vitality gains and losses. Vitality gains will be processed before losses if both abilities have the same priority. Vitality payments are an exception and are resolved at the highest priority.
That changes a lot for me, actually. I am re-evaluating my perspective on the mechanical aspects of the game now, and I'm sorta wondering why anyone would ever use the Skill ability. One-way chats can be nifty, but not if you have to suicide to establish them. :/
With that in mind, however, Wisp, how do you know it would take X activations to kill someone with your ability? It sounds like you started the game with 7V, but I didn't start with a number that high.
@Iso: Do you have Silver that low just because of his choo choo on a player who hadn't yet posted, or are there other elements that you either didn't mention or that I missed? Oh, you mentioned his 276. Anything else?
That has got to be the weirdest way I've heard of someone trying to pocket a player that posted once while alienating the rest of the playerbase.
Hm. Probably town>rand.

Meh, please note that I am writing this with little sleep so if it sounds like random nonsense, we're even.
(I’m working on very little sleep and grading Jon stop papers, so right there with you.)
The inner workings of my brain is a very chaotic space. Yes from what I’ve said it should seem like I’m at least scum leaning him, and a part of me is, BUT there’s another part of my brain that goes, “you know Tammy, you might just be being a little nitpivky here. He could also easily be town here and you’re just not liking what he’s put down but that doesn’t make him scum, you need more data here to make sure you’re not just being dumb.”
I think the issue here is that you want the proper shape that fits in the hole, and I don’t have one and we’re not speaking the same reads language because I’m a slow chewer.
That has got to be the weirdest way I've heard of someone trying to pocket a player that posted once while alienating the rest of the playerbase.
Hm. Probably town>rand.
I can’t find the cantrip thing I was going to respond to, but it’s not a big deal. I didn’t think his first list was scum; I figured it was a serious vote since he also included an fos, who I figure he would have voted if the vote for me wasn’t serious. I figured it was for an awkward opening or something, which I get sometimes, and that his serious or not serious was kinda akin to wondering if anyone saw what he saw kind of thing. I was a bit surprised to see a couple people think that comment was scummy. It didn’t feel like cagey scum testing the waters or like scum jumping on something they think will be an easy early push, like I do get here sometimes.
I don’t think that highroller’s push on wisp has to come from scum. I do think that mafia are more likely to want to push the claimed third party because it’s easy and is possibly detrimental to the scum team, BUT there are people out there that legitimately think you should never suffer a nontown to live no matter what. I don’t know high roller, so I do not know if that’s his theory. I wasn’t totally ensnared with his GJ push even though it has some of the same reasoning as me for finding him scummy. I guess he felt a little too dramatic about it.
I’m okay leaving wisp alone for a day or two. If he’s telling the truth about his role, I guess he could be as dangerous to town as scum, but he’s already claimed he’ll go for the top wagon which means we need to be careful about getting people to l-1. I think you guys are pretty cautious about that anyway though.
Okay I'm back. I read the Chad thing and I agree that his vote feels out of place because he absolutely did not talk about Cantrip up to that point and spent the entire post before that talking about things other than Cantrip. Consider him bumped down on my list.

On cantrip, I mean.
I was pretty bummed to see how much hate Rhand was getting for it. I can't be the only player who enjoys a good roleplay... And yeah, my paranoia knows few bounds.
wrt cant vote i don't think there's a ton more i have to say about it
i thought the reasoning was ok and there's definitely a sort of player who likes dropping shiny coins all over the thread and looking at how people react
it's a very meh reaction test but i think it makes a bit more sense if they're a villager who genuinely wants to clarify that rather than a wolf who feels like they need to come up with a good justification for saying that
I also want to hear from those with experience with Iso and their immediate takeaways from his catch-up posts.
He hasn’t played for ages, so a grain of salt is appropriate.
I think this is town!Iso solving the game.
There’s an easy Iso catch if he’s mafia, but ask me about that in a few Days or I ruin it.

@tammy
I am not going to randomly hammer people, but I would like to be on the wagon once we have a consensus, since randomly hammering is a good way for me to get yeeted even faster

THERE ARE MANY LEGENDS about Taker, the first Outislander to claim Buckkeep as the First Duchy and the founder of the royal line. One is that the raiding voyage he was on was his first and only foray out from whatever cold harsh island bore him. It is said that upon seeing the timbered fortifications of Buckkeep, he had announced, “If there’s a fire and a meal there, I shan’t be leaving again.” And there was, and he didn’t.

Hm. Noted.
Something about his posts was putting me on edge - I think it was the occasional touches of whimsy he'd add like "I was like 'facesitting whattttt?' lol hashtag relatable!" intermixed with real analysis.
I realize that's almost 100% a subjective take, but I did get this impression that I was being endeared to/pocketed - didn't help that I am unnerved by being someone's strongest townread, hah.
Meh, whatev. I like the content and I want to bounce thoughts off of him.
Now I feel bad fer nah votin' cropcircles when I unvoted Wisp but I was too lazy t' look back t' see if that scumread still held up 'n Iso beat me t' it 'n now he be gettin' all th' credit fer findin' scum.

I did talk about why earlier: I haven't really seen anything that I wouldn't attribute to stubborn town, possibly more towards that. What's tipped the balance for you?
I don't mind the wagon, all in all - it really depends on <redacted>.
[honestly I'm making up this statistic but I personally believe it tends to come from Mafia more than town, and I don't particularly have a read on rhand yet, and I refuse to place him out of respect for his wolf game
I went back to check if Chad ever replied to my questions too, but he actually hasn't posted since yesterday. Poor timing. Come back, Chad.
Also bouncing around Cuth thoughts in my head, and I find myself in the peculiar position that I'm not a fan of the way he's putting as little effort into things as possible, which flies in the face of the brief but content-heavy posts I've come to expect from him. However, in all the games that I remember with him, he was actually scum, so the deviation here is...good...?
Someone speak on this with me.
Cuth, if I'm reading this correct this means that you have, at a minimum, just lost 1V.
I don't know how else to word this so: Why don't you care?
to ur previous post about unanswered questions, what post number, I'll get it once I get home, and best world for me, he loses 3vit and I will know, I will know whether to switch off or stay on him tonight. Its better for me to sting and bleed instead of waiting since if I have many targets and I bleed them, if one loses 3v I won't know which one it was
I think one question was about my abilities
I sting once per day
And I bleed them once per night
I bleed everyone that I have stung, and then they lose the charm, and take appropriate damage based on if they have wit or not.
And to Iso, I really hope all my targets aren't town, that would be lame, I personally don't like faction less 3ps, I like that I work around the mechanic, but I still thing they are relatively unfun to play, with the worst probably being the angel
honestly I'm making up this statistic but I personally believe it tends to come from Mafia more than town, and I don't particularly have a read on rhand yet, and I refuse to place him out of respect for his wolf game
I think you're making that statistic up because I'm fairly certain that it tends to come from certain players, regardless of alignment.
@Grape: The last votecount is wrong; I unvoted Tammy.

What was your meme in 372 intended to communicate?
I was pretty bummed to see how much hate Rhand was getting for it. I can't be the only player who enjoys a good roleplay... And yeah, my paranoia knows few bounds.
vote: CropCircles
@Cantrip: I had no idea. If I find more energy, I’ll go back to pirating. Or at least part of my posts.
Why is Highroller above your nulls?
I also want to hear from those with experience with Iso and their immediate takeaways from his catch-up posts.
why you not trust me
wrt cant vote i don't think there's a ton more i have to say about it
i thought the reasoning was ok and there's definitely a sort of player who likes dropping shiny coins all over the thread and looking at how people react
it's a very meh reaction test but i think it makes a bit more sense if they're a villager who genuinely wants to clarify that rather than a wolf who feels like they need to come up with a good justification for saying that
He hasn’t played for ages, so a grain of salt is appropriate.
I think this is town!Iso solving the game.
There’s an easy Iso catch if he’s mafia, but ask me about that in a few Days or I ruin it.
Anyways, @everyone, iso Cropcircles 'n tell me why ye be nah votin' 'im when ye read it. Or jus' vote 'im.
I was assuming a base number based off mine, sucks to suck I guess lol
I think he is wrong about Sloth, and that doesn't make him worse, but it makes me not like him
I am not going to randomly hammer people, but I would like to be on the wagon once we have a consensus, since randomly hammering is a good way for me to get yeeted even faster
All of my feelings and thoughts regarding GJ that I have felt like sharing can be located in my catch-up posts.
I liked his early approach. Also, all of my thoughts and feelings that I wish to share regarding Highroller can be found in my catch-up posts.

Amused that Rhand is deploying Silver Rage. Is that still a tell?
Do give it a look.

I am seeking replacement for Az. Please do not discuss this in game.
If using abbreviations and nicknames in the vote counts is a problem for anyone please let me know.
I did talk about why earlier: I haven't really seen anything that I wouldn't attribute to stubborn town, possibly more towards that. What's tipped the balance for you?
I don't mind the wagon, all in all - it really depends on <redacted>.
I don't know how else to word this so: Why don't you care?
(CropCircles and Chad slot probably feel worst about atm.)
I think one question was about my abilities
I sting once per day
And I bleed them once per night
I bleed everyone that I have stung, and then they lose the charm, and take appropriate damage based on if they have wit or not.
I suspect we'll find that very few players started with as much as you did, but that's what I would expect from a 3rd party role.
I think you're making that statistic up because I'm fairly certain that it tends to come from certain players, regardless of alignment.
@Grape: The last votecount is wrong; I unvoted Tammy.
