A Specialty Mafia Setup for 20 players, constructed and hosted by Osieorb18
Cohosted by ChadMD.

Little did most muggles know that the game of Mafia originated as a Wizarding game practiced furtively in pureblood get-togethers. One evening, Lord Voldemort called together many of his Death Eaters to play a round of Mafia. Welcome... To Voldemort's Throne Room.
Warning: This game includes some roles which are... unusual. Outside of when it is expected of me by the setup, I will do my best not to give you false information. I can promise that no role reveal will ever be false, and I will actively avoid falsely answering questions asked of the host to the best of my ability. (I'm very good at shrug emojis.)
Rules:
I usually post a long-winded set of rules which many people don't read. Instead, here is a slightly less long-winded set of rules.
I am the host, and I reserve the right to change and/or enact these rules as I see fit.
You are expected to read and understand ALL communication from the host. If you may not understand something, please ask.
Be the best you that you can be. Let's have fun!
Keep what belongs in the game thread, in the game thread, and what belongs outside of the game thread, outside of the game thread. This includes but is not limited to host communications, concerns of rule-breaking, ongoing games, IRL matters, editing posts without permission, thanking posts, and questions for the host.
Don't spam the thread.
Make your votes clear to anyone reading them. Accurate and regular votecounts are a privilege which is earned. I suggest bolding your vote and placing it on a separate line from all other content in your post.
Do not self-vote. This is considered intentional poor sportsmanship and will be handled as such.
Setup-Specific Notes:
The setup contains roles that present false information or interact in unusual ways. It still appears balanced and enjoyable to reviewers, but some information will not be reliable.
All roles have an upgrade mechanic which is known as a Dark Mark.
Scum team members may submit factional actions on the same Night as regular actions.
Roles may exist which change a player's target. A player will always learn if their target has been changed, but will not learn of their new target's identity unless they learn information about their target.
Don't post in the thread during the Night phase unless explicitly told that you are allowed to do so.
Elimination Deadlines will start at 264 hours (11 days), and may decrease later on in the game. Twilight phases will be 0-12 hours. Night Action Submission Deadlines will be 24 hours throughout the game. Night Action Handling Deadlines will be 24-36 hours throughout the game. Any of these numbers may change upon request or whim. Please make requests in private.
Elimination is by majority during the Day only.
Players are expected to make at least 2 posts per 24 hours. This will be checked less regularly than that, roughly every 48 hours. The final 24 hours will be checked separately.
Mafia will have nightchat and daychat. Mafia are expected to follow the same activity rule of posting in their nightchat at a rate of over 2 posts per 24 hours during the Night phase as well.
You will have 1 free prod over the course of the game. Once per game, if you are in the top 50% of posters at the end of a phase, you will gain another free prod. If all of your free prods have been used up, you will be replaced or modkilled at host discretion. If you use up your free prod(s), the host may impose a stricter content requirement on you at their discretion.
Modgaming, setupgaming, and flavourgaming will be particularly ineffective. Flavour is mostly random. The setup is unusual for me and unusual for MtGS. I'm probably going to laugh at you behind the scenes if you try this.

I generally expect posting under the minimum to last no longer than 72 consecutive hours, with a total of up to 96 hours per day phase. If you are still posting at a reasonable rate during V/LA, then some degree of leniency on those numbers may be acceptable, but communication is everything. I understand that extenuating circumstances come up. The more you communicate with me, the more lenient I am likely to be.
To me, V/LA means that I'm not going to hold you strictly to minimum posting standards, but (with length of day phase in mind) 0 posts in over 24 hours without warning of not posting is unacceptable. 0 posts in over 48 hours without warning is excessively unacceptable. It's a long phase game, so it's okay to miss 24 hours here and there. It's part of why my phase checks are every 48 hours instead of every 24. That said, missing multiple IRL days should involve communication with the host.
The game will start as soon as all players have confirmed their role PMs in the Discord. If a player does not confirm their role PM within 24 hours, they may be replaced without warning.
The misty fug his breath had left on the window sparkled in the orange glare of the streetlamp outside, and the artificial light drained his face of all color, so that he looked ghostly...
Something I want to ask and get out of the way as soon as possible so we don't drown in this topic later: should people with antitown roles/abilities come forward and clarify, whether it's through hints or outright, or should we all just keep quiet and work it out later? I'm considering making a partial claim.

A letter to our Mod., who said there were bastard-ish elements in this game, and was not kidding.
Notwithstanding the desire to have a wide variety of different types of roles in one's game, one should probably not include roles that actively disincentive the receiver of said role from playing. Games are more fun, in this way, not just for the Mod., but for all. Even otherwise very interesting and potentially enjoyable games are ruined by the feeling that one, from the very beginning, never actually had a chance.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.

11 seems relevant here.
lol took me forever to realize you meant rule 11. I was like "player 11? Is that code?" and the "11 to eliminate! What does it mean?!" "Wait she posted the 11th post."

Also set up gaming is setup gaming. Sometimes it does help but usually not when the mod says it doesn't help
Things that are good for town (+EV) and things that are bad for town (-EV), is how I understand it.
You're still not really getting it. I'm not talking about setup-gaming.

My partial claim: I strongly prefer not to be targeted by anybody for any reason; it will interfere with my role. This is your only warning, and I'm claiming this because it's important. Please take my words at face value if you're a villager. Mafia, I can't stop you from killing/blocking/redirecting/etc. me but I'm not that interesting, promise.

Are you claiming miller, yes or no.
Actually, back to this: What's the hurry of getting this out so quickly. Day is almost 2 weeks long and you started this as a discussion proposal.
Then you skipped the discussion and just tossed this in there without waiting for people to comment on it. I mean, 3/4s of the players haven't even posted yet.
