Also, if I pegged the witches in that last post, can you please NK me? There's a shiny new specialty open and I want to be able to claim a moral victory and then go play in it. TIA!
Terraine - Tired. Probably playing poorly but seems more like she’s trying to not get stressed and pissy over a game for once than anything else
Umami- The whole exchange about claims while I still stand by saying is a bad idea seems genuine from her end….backs off instead of getting defensive when I point out that there are flaws in her proposition. I like this
Fulcrum - The exploring roles and game play strategy comes across as towny to me. Scum always seems to thrive in chaos imo and D1 is always prime for that so this method def. brings that percentage of that down. She’s reading people’s tone on top of their actual play. Not seeing particular scum tells here and if she is well seems we’re screwed.
Osie- Jesus christ big wall is big. Start was rough for me as it felt like there was a lot of pushing for reads without much content as to the WHY of them…until there was almost all the content. Still reading through a lot of the analysis but getting town vibes from it as I go.
Tubba - Feeling kinda neutrally as type this on page two. He’s answering questions but not really putting out an feelers of his own. Correct me if wrong but don’t think he actually asked a question for the game until #124. Even then its done in an odd hedging manner there’s no teeth to it.
Sloth-God he’s ******* annoying to play against. His fixation on my first few *****posts of the game being a scum tell is weird but not sure I see it as scummy as it could easily just be an over correction after he missed me being scum in the last game we played.
I’m not a fan of the fact he just keeps downplaying as dismissing me as not doing anything. I’ve definitely been MIA but I don’t think the whole claim talk qualifies as not trying to figure out the game…and it’s not like he somehow missed me in that cause he asks me directly to clarify my thoughts on something i said during it. After I post whether it be a question for a player like in #69 (hah) or answering and playing catch up in #242 he pops up to undermine it by saying “oh she’s not doing anything to solve the game”
I find the ***** with Az weird too….he insists on finding out why there was such a strong scum read…asks twice for it and just says ok pocket me! once Az drops the vote.
His drive on me feels forced and reminds me of the Wonk game on DLP where there was a lot of activity from him like there is here…but it alway kept coming back to trying to force a lynch on me.
Azrael - Like I’ve said…the odd level of certainty in the original sloth vote and then when pressed on it, not only does he give a cop out reason but just drops it and refuses to address it again.
Find 41# that he takes up on me pressing Osie for placing so much weight on wording but looks the other way for sloth doing the same thing in 35#.
In fact for all of Sloth’s complaints that I’m not contributing solving the game I wonder where that same drive is for Az. #249 is a long post but there’s no much meat to it. Most of it seems to be a defense of his own meta and whether certain things are NAI for him. There’s little drive or push….just a lot of text and a read wall with no support.
Okay... So Azrael is going up in my reads for extremely silly reasons having to do with a cold meta tell from years ago. I am not ashamed of myself one bit. (I'm incredibly ashamed of myself.)
Fulcrum looks a bit worse too, but I'm going with Ter/Tubba for the team, with Azrael and Fulcrum as potential backup choices who I need to reconsider if one of Ter/Tubba flips town.
Oh, and I should probably reread the setup again since I've sorta just been playing this as a 5/2 mountainous since it felt doable.

vote Azrael
Pretend that I'm voting you - not placing it solely to avoid accidental hammer. Hunh, wait a minute - you put me to three yourself, didn't you? Vote TerRaine.
There's a ton of problematic vote/read reasoning in this post. Strategy posting is not a solid rationale to clear someone. Weird != scummy, regarding Sloth or anyone else. That's the world's most traditional scum tell, calling something innocent weird in order to justify a lynch. Attacking a larger post that was never intended to be a sweeping case on anyone, and explicitly stated where additional reads would need to be focused, is a terrible look also. And sloth as a scum-leaning read? I feel like most people are seeing the glaringly obvious town tells in posting, he's basically painting a neon sign on himself that screams "I'm a townie!" at this point (slight exaggeration, but this is a pretty bad, superficial read on him). This reads like someone who is determining what their reads are going to be in advance, then retroactively coming up with plausible sounding rationales. It's not even original - it's just regurgitating points that other players had raised without critically thinking any of it through for validity. And then quickly pushing the vote to -1, to avoid a lynch against herself. Not to mention retaliation/self defensiveness, for having put you at the bottom of my list a couple posts ago. Funny how that immediately resulted in a vote against me. Really coherent scum mindset lying behind this post. Murder with fire, please.
Pretend that I'm voting you - not placing it solely to avoid accidental hammer. Hunh, wait a minute - you put me to three yourself, didn't you? Vote TerRaine.
I put you at two votes on you not three...but don't let that get in the way of making ***** up.
Me: Sloth's play feels weird in this game and reminds me of when Sloth was scum in another game.
Also Azrael: NOT LIKE THAT!
Pretty sure you're intelligent enough to know the difference between providing meta information, and using meta to make a bad case against a townish player.
I’m pretty sure you’re intelligent enough to know that the numbers 242, 246, and 247 come before 250.
Yet like the fake claim you made that I put you at 3 votes..ya paint my pressure and vote on you as a defensive knee jerk reaction of scumslotting that came out of no where
But Again....don’t let me stop you from making ***** up out of thin air.

When in danger, deflect. It's the most classic scum tactic in the book, and you're demonstrating it beautifully. Carry on.
He's solidly seeming Town so far yes. If he's not, it'll become clear - the whimsy is very relaxed and Town from him though, compared to the tension before.
Also there's #30.
Osie, you place a lot of weight on exact wording? I think I recall that from DLP. What else do you look for?
One thing's for certain, there is a 3/8ths chance that scum have survivalist, meaning that they will never use their guess the role to get a double kill thing and that they know not to use that ability
I'm not great at math, but just to confirm: Given this and later posts you make, did you forget this is a 7-player game with only 2 scum?
Yeah, I'm about to bring up some old *****. What up
Also, I mean the following in the most non-aggressive way possible:

Isn't Ter like pretty experienced? Would she really resort to the 'most classic scum tactic in the book' under a little bit of pressure? I mean, the only reason she would conceivably do that is because she thought her rep is so good that people would automatically dismiss her doing that as not scum indicative because she wouldn't be that rookie, but no one besides me has brought up this possibility and I don't even know her. Which to me means that would be an uber risky tactic for no reason and that pretty much everyone has jumped on this wagon is at least a little alarming. It's actually especially funny since she had an out/had time to develop a response and chose that. That said, could be some hard core busing by Azrael

You say I put you at L1 to make me look scummy. You mention it twice in the same post
But that didn't happen. Tom posted a VC in #205. Fonti was vote 1. There's no other votes that I can see for anyone let alone Az until #252. I was vote 2.
Not to mention retaliation/self defensiveness, for having put you at the bottom of my list a couple posts ago. Funny how that immediately resulted in a vote against me.
It's not retaliation when I was the one prodding you before you even posted your list. In 242# I point out your cop out answer early in the game. in #246 I point out to Sloth I can't pressure someone who isn't present ie you. #247 I decide **** it ask Az maybe you'll get an answer. All of this before you plop down #250 where I'm at the bottom of your read. I was already suspecting you.
refute the points I'm making instead of slinging out mafia buzzwords.

Anyway, vote Azrael
Yes. Because frequently, it works for them. You're getting into WIFOM territory here, and it's probably not helping evaluate it clearly.
TerRaine's trying to argue that because she voiced preexisting suspicions various places throughout the thread, we should ignore that what triggered her to place a vote was being placed at the very bottom of my scum list and receiving pressure from multiple quarters. When you're scum under attack, if you are the only wagon, you're going to die. Plain and simple. Because she doesn't want to die, she has to respond to the pressure against her by presenting on alternative, and fooling some townies into joining it. Otherwise, the town takes her out by default, and with a coalition forming against her she had no choice but to act.
RE: TerRaine's latest, Osie calling her out out on being repeatedly disingenuous hits the nail on the head. I misread the vote count. But you then twist that error into a completely self-serving narrative that I was trying to "deceive" the town about publicly available information. This is one of the easiest ways to pin down scum. Because they don't evaluate evidence and behavior from an objective standpoint, they twist every piece of information to serve their agenda and take the least charitable interpretation of everything, even if it makes no sense whatsoever.
She's having similar issues reading and interpreting behavior from other players organically as well, such as Sloth. Her scum-hunting and behavior-reading is badly skewed, she's having to fake responses and act artificially, and it's tripping her up and leading to odd reads and nonsense rationales for her positions.
If it's just a "mistake" why not make the correction when I call you out on it? Town players fix misinformation they're spreading they don't just say "**** it" and hope no one notices.
Your argument seems to be"Oh well she's pushing for someone to be lynched other than herself so she HAS to be scum!" which yea scum would do....but so would a town mislynch. I could easily argue that you saw I doubted you and shoved me to the bottom of your list so you could make this push when I inevitably voted for you. I'm supposedly your scummiest read and yet you make no mention of me or my behaviors in all of 249.
You push back at Fonti with sarcasm for being wrong about you.
You bristle at Osie accusing you of asking others to do your work for you.
You accuse Tubba of "twisting [Osie's] analysis into a scum-tell."
And yet not a single mention of how you read your supposedly strongest scum suspect.

You're right, I didn't address your more recent posts in that particular post. That's because unlike you, I respond to material as it jumps out at me. Naturally, not warped around a set agenda. If you don't post something I see as problematic, you stay off my radar. When you do, I will call you out, which is exactly what I did in my next post.
But feel free to continue trying to make a capital case out of the fact that I didn't mention you in one of my posts. It makes it a hell of a lot easier for people to see you for what you are: desperate, deflecting, caught scum who will stop at nothing to wriggle out of a D1 lynch.
But that is what doesn't make sense Az. What made me seem simultaneously so scummy and yet not "problematic" that it both landed me in the last spot of the list but didn't jump out at you enough to warrant building any sort of case against me until I voted for you?
All three people above me had reasons before 249 to be on your list. Cept the supposed worst one.
How can I be both the scummiest player in the game but not "naturally" give you anything to address?
I'm far from desperate. I'm just asking you to explain your reads as of 250 to the rest of Town.
So...what do you guys think the 2 most likely roles are that scum would choose to discard? (I know they can only discard 1, but don't have their choice of the 8 so settling on 2 to account for chance of getting role)
So...what do you guys think the 2 most likely roles are that scum would choose to discard? (I know they can only discard 1, but don't have their choice of the 8 so settling on 2 to account for chance of getting role)
Depends on the team. Potentially Undertaker or Gravedigger if they don't value the rolekill. Maybe DoB if they know the DoB meta. Maybe Judge. I don't think there's a lot of value to be had in speculating on this.

I'd say Assassin and Hunter. Both are "kill" roles yes but they're crazy conditional.
Assassin you either need people to claim, be pretty lucky, or have also nabbed one of the info roles on your scum team to be of any use. And even if you nabbed an info role the info you get is a slow roll to gather when they already have the skill itself via their role kill night ability.
Hunter again depends too much on everyone else...its only useful IF a player survives a kill and there's no guarantee the cards will all fall into place for that to happen. Not only that you need that player to survive a kill but also that scum who has it to survive to the next night to use it.
Judge while also conditional has the additional OP boost to ignore extra lives so it's def. a step above those two.

Do we know who the BOD gives an extra life to? Or is it just the person they select that knows?

It's usually announced in the same post as the BOD's death.

So that's also not great then because either you have to misdirect to town which even if it causes confusion still gives town strength or pinpoint your partner.

Never played a game with that role in it. I'd direct that at the mod for confirmation. Worst thing that can happen is Tom says he can't answer that
So font, was sloth's thing an innocent townie mistake or intentional town credit?
No idea. I'm not weighing it in my read on him.
The thing about the dropped role is it's super situational. Let's say the scum team has survivalist, judge and bod. They probably drop judge there, and keep the survivalist alive so they can coast to an easy victory later. There are some roles I think they almost never drop, like hunter, because unless scum get wiped really fast, there will probably be a bounced kill in the game.
So font, was sloth's thing an innocent townie mistake or intentional town credit?
Same question to you Ter
I'm not sure....Like I said in my wall I'm having trouble figuring whether this is the same tunnel sloth from Wonka or extra cautious after prison sloth. He's usually not one for fake dumbtells to appears townie when he's scum that I've seen when playing with him
It's incredibly helpful, and Sloth was absolutely being a team player helping me out there. Definitely helps to have that baseline.
Sloth, I missed responding to your question earlier. Osie's the only person who I'm familiar with here and played with before, so any assessments you can provide regarding levels of experience, interesting NAI quirks, typical tells, would be invaluable.
Tap tap. Hm.
Would you really say you got a lot out of #43? From my perspective all I said was "I don't know what a scum Umami looks like" and "Don't listen to me about Ter, she fooled me."
As for the rest...
Tubba: Went over him on #75 and #208 and why I think he's probably town this game. His lack of content is annoying, but NAI given that no one's pressing him. But yes, I want him back already.
Fulcrum: That is not her name.
She's almost definitely town based off of #240.
I meant everything I said on #235 about how she's playing this game, but the thing about that is that that's all well within her range as town, so it's ultimately largely NAI with a smidgen of possible scum manipulation rather than just manipulation. Therefore what I was doing in #235 is taking what I had noticed and over-amplify my feelings of it as a reaction test to see if it gave something away.
I was assuming font would reply with some combination of amusement, smackdown, 1v1ing and trying to figure out why I'm doing what I'm doing; where the "percentage" amount of each reaction would give me insight to her intent and therefore alignment.
#240 was probably the reaction I least expected, where she got annoyed and needed to leave to cool off. I don't believe fonti as scum would react like that, even if she was annoyed she'd try to pretend not to be and address it. Thus, she's town
If I'm wrong on that and she turns out to be scum here, well that means I have to change how I approach font as a player in general, but that doesn't help until a future game.
(@Fonti, so like I said earlier, I was trying to get a reaction, not this reaction.)
No you’re good, this is impressive and even more so if scum. I answered your question regarding my Osie question in a response to... someone else. Basically, wanted to grab Osie’s attention with one hand and make funny distracting hand motions with the other and see how they responded.
Well, that's like the most back-handed way of complimenting Osie and twisting his analysis into a scum-tell I've ever seen. I mean, Osie's good enough and it's within his meta enough that I can't put as much reliance on it as a town tell as I'm tempted to, but way to try to subtly plant that Osie's super dangerous scum in everyone's minds to undermine him.
That is a...very uncharitable interpretation of one sentence. How much stock are you putting here?
*level look* Hasn't there been some game or other lately that proved to you that the new, time-starved, economy-version Az is a real thing? I know ya'all want me to post so you can get reads on me. You don't have to harass me over it every game - or use it as a means to attack me even though you should be aware by now it's heavily NAI. *crosses arms*
Ah, finally an appropriate time to use my favorite emoji on this or any site:
Do you even lift, bro?
Also, looking back on some of the old tropes I used to engage in, I don't think I ever realized before how much I intentionally lied and exaggerated in my townie playstyle before. Like, an integral part of my old-school townie doctrine was to be really fake-aggressive to solicit information, going back like...fifteen years of my games.
Meaning that's not what you were doing during that early vote/aggro on me?
How would you describe your town meta now, then?
Also, if I pegged the witches in that last post, can you please NK me? There's a shiny new specialty open and I want to be able to claim a moral victory and then go play in it. TIA!
You remember there are Angels and Demons this game right?
@Terraine
What do you think Sloth is doing regarding you? Specifically, starting way back at #7 and what he and I discussed involving number #10? I would quote them but I’m on mobile and I keep forgetting how to do it. (I’m even older than Sloth, I think)
@Azrael
I try very hard not to take an egocentric view of the game, with varying degrees of success. I needed to vent about that game, wouldn’t read to much into it.
Are you scum reading me? Why didn’t you vote me instead of Terraine and how likely do you think Terraine and I are partners?

Someone on Ter unvote. No hammers.

Deadline is noon PST may 30th (3 days from this post)
I put you at two votes on you not three...but don't let that get in the way of making ***** up.
Me: Sloth's play feels weird in this game and reminds me of when Sloth was scum in another game.
Also Azrael: NOT LIKE THAT!
Pretty sure you're intelligent enough to know the difference between providing meta information, and using meta to make a bad case against a townish player.
Carry on.
"Pressing Osie": A Comparison Piece.
Zero pressure here.
Mild pressure here.
Yeah, I'm about to bring up some old *****. What up
Also, I mean the following in the most non-aggressive way possible:
Sloth, you're an accountant, right?
Fonti, how bad is Sloth at mechanics?
Full disclosure, I am bad at mechanics
Anyway, vote Azrael
The **** are you on about? It's not deflecting to point out that you are flat out lying.
You say I put you at L1 to make me look scummy. You mention it twice in the same post
But that didn't happen. Tom posted a VC in #205. Fonti was vote 1. There's no other votes that I can see for anyone let alone Az until #252. I was vote 2.
Then...
Actually I'm the accountant
It's not even that she's defensive. It's that she's disingenuous...
All three people above me had reasons before 249 to be on your list. Cept the supposed worst one.
How can I be both the scummiest player in the game but not "naturally" give you anything to address?
I'm far from desperate. I'm just asking you to explain your reads as of 250 to the rest of Town.
Az could be town. Could also be two scum fighting.
Sloth, were you trying to get an emotional reaction from me earlier?
Will explain when home.

Worst thing that can happen is Tom says he can't answer that
Same question to you Ter
I'm not sure....Like I said in my wall I'm having trouble figuring whether this is the same tunnel sloth from Wonka or extra cautious after prison sloth. He's usually not one for fake dumbtells to appears townie when he's scum that I've seen when playing with him
Would you really say you got a lot out of #43?
Think that's everyone right? Let me know.
That is a...very uncharitable interpretation of one sentence. How much stock are you putting here?
Ah, finally an appropriate time to use my favorite emoji on this or any site:
Do you even lift, bro?
Meaning that's not what you were doing during that early vote/aggro on me?
How would you describe your town meta now, then?
You remember there are Angels and Demons this game right?
What do you think Sloth is doing regarding you? Specifically, starting way back at #7 and what he and I discussed involving number #10? I would quote them but I’m on mobile and I keep forgetting how to do it. (I’m even older than Sloth, I think)
@Azrael
I try very hard not to take an egocentric view of the game, with varying degrees of success. I needed to vent about that game, wouldn’t read to much into it.
Are you scum reading me? Why didn’t you vote me instead of Terraine and how likely do you think Terraine and I are partners?
You're back! Did you hear my siren's call
