I'm assuming that from scum!Grape's POV I would look a lot more villagery and untouchable than if he were town [who doesn't know my alignment], and therefore I believe him to be town, unless this is a very specifically engineered pocket attempt.
I should probably take a look at Jack. That's a few people strongly town reading him. His posts felt vaguely townish and similar to last game but not enough to really base a read on.
I'm still pretty happy with my vote it was mostly RVS but the reaction to it and the person in question posts so far. Give me little reason to change. I feel the vote on me is so reachy and truly lacks belief I'm scum.
A little bit concerned that this means I'm voting with ZDS, but I can afford to live in paranoia of the man treating Me like a puppet the entire game again. So just going to stick with my gut, for now and see where it takes me.
Working most of today so will not be posting a lot till tonight. Where I do a more full review of the game so far.
Yeah I'm not seeing it. This was the post that stuck out to me and it's ehhhhhh. I don't think it's particularly AI. Expressing fear of someone you just lost to is about as NAI as it gets.
Honestly, if there’s anything weird about Jack, I think it’s that he’s both acknowledging ZDS is hard to read but still happy to side with him when reading other players.
Like yeah, you can agree on reads, but the fact that it’s specifically ZDS is eh.
It's weird to make that post publicly doubting the wisdom of agreeing with ZDS but then turning around saying he agrees with ZDS more and more while quoting Umami. It's not scummy but it's odd. I guess I could see it being so self aware that it is townie, but Jack strikes me as the hyper self aware type as either alignment.
I'd put him in the town side of shrug for now but not any higher than that.
Basically what tom said. Being a slow starter isn't really AI. I makes sort by post count and win on D1 useless but slow starters tend to be slow starters regardless of alignment. And to get tone ready for a second calling him "chill" projects good feelings about M+ beyond just saying that an activity read doesn't apply.
I should probably take a look at Jack. That's a few people strongly town reading him. His posts felt vaguely townish and similar to last game but not enough to really base a read on.
This is a wise and fair choice imo nothing I have done this game should have me as a town read yet, since I have frankly being half arseing it for lack of a better term. Pretty sad if I can get town read by doing nothing but I guess it was similar last game.
On ZDS: It's not just that he changed his mind, the way he changed his mind felt geniune. He's also trying to move the thread forward, which can come from scum, but it's enough that I'd rather look elsewhere D1.
For reference, I was lightly following along Prison Break and he was my strongest scumread D2. Obviously that doesn't mean I can always read him perfectly or whatever, but he feels different this game.
His attack on me pings me a bit, but eh, my explanations aren't the greatest so I can see it. I'm having trouble getting myself back into mafia mode, interacting with people is hard.
~
I know I'm not the only one who feels this, but it feels like we're still in RVS. No wagon has gotten more than 4 votes... which is kinda absurd.
My vote on Shadow didn't go through, but I don't even care; he's not going to be back for another two days and pressuring him now seems pointless. Tubba's posts have been meh... but people bring up an okay point that he was moderately scummy in Prison Break making me hesitant to push it.
GJ said my posts were lazy... he's very right and very wrong at the same time. I spend a lot of time trying to figure stuff out, but trying to express myself in a productive way is exhausting and time consuming and I'm starting to doubt if I can even do it.
It seems like I'm right about LW and Umami, but their wagons were so lukewarm for two wagons on town that it's weird.
It's weird to make that post publicly doubting the wisdom of agreeing with ZDS but then turning around saying he agrees with ZDS more and more while quoting Umami. It's not scummy but it's odd. @Vaimes why did you say M+ was chill?
Yeah I get that looks weird like I said at the time just if I see the same things as him, I will follow them since they have merit. I can't just avoid my reads because of fear and paranoia of someone who could be town here having a similar view.
Jack, you were obvtown in Prison. This game, I don't have a good read on you. I don't know why that is.
How do you know I was obv town in prison? Not having a good read on me is because I have not really committed to this game to my normal degree just yet this should change tomorrow. Don't hold me to that though I have bursts of motivation when it comes to mafia lately. rereading atm though
As I said, I was just casually reading Prison. I don't have a solid read on Jack because his posts has been meh so far but A.) that's true of a lot of players here and B.) not much has happened yet. IIRC Jack's obvtown posts in Prison were later in D1 when stuff was already happening, and I also know that people, like, sometimes play differently in different games.
@Last: Do you still think Umami is being carefree?
@GJ: Is smart alleckness a tell for Axel?
@ITF: You say in 274 that ZDS is town for reevauluating his reads. Why doesn't scum!ZDS do that?
Not sure if asking Whisp is I'm being carefree is actual problem solving? That you ask the question suggests that you think it is meta AI and I've never played with Whisp before so they're one of the least qualified people to answer your question...
@ITF how much experience do you have in forum mafia and in person mafia? You obviously have a grasp on the concepts but your reply to GJ made me think you haven't actually played much online.
@Jack that makes sense. Gun to your head what are your three strongest reads right now?

Do you want scum reads or town?
I will do a mix for now I feel my strongest town read this game is Vaimes, imo he has a different air about him this game in prison I had issues with some of his early stuff like something off. His tone this time seems a bit more solve like and town motivated. My strongest scum read is still Umani nothing much changed there chance I'm in tunnel mode but has not stopped me before. I will do a deep dive on why I think this so strongly at some point. My other strongest town read is ITF his tone and approuch just feels super towny and pure.
Not a strong read but more a observation I want more from shadow since I forget he was even in this. TMy lack of scumreads are partly coming from a couple of people being so low posting.
@Last: Do you still think Umami is being carefree?

how does the question relate at all to meta...
I'm getting the vibe that based on our prior game Grape thinks being carefree is AI for me specifically and not for everyone in general. I also think that reading my play based on a prior game and what is "carefree" for me is somewhat dependent on having played with me before. So like, if he was asking Tom, Vaimes, or Rhand it would make more sense to me. Specifically asking you seems like trying to get points for engaging more than trying to get help reading me
ITF his tone and approach just feels super towny and pure.
I am glad you caught that too
@Umami
did I miss something? How did this switch from Killjoy to Grape?
and I still don't think meta means anything here at least for me
so do you think Grape/Killjoy is being disingenuous?
I put both cause idk who what happened in your post
Djan Seriy Anaplian let her head down for a moment, and cursed quickly in a selection of languages, at least one of which had its home many thousands of light years away, then turned back to the child. It was a boy. His eyes were wide and his dirty face was streaked with tears.
She lifted the boy by both armpits. He didn’t struggle, though he tried to keep his legs up and his arms round his knees, retaining the ball shape she’d first seen him in. ... She turned him round and held him to her chest as she stepped into the seatrider. It closed around her again, offering the control grip as its sliding, clicking components fastened her and it together.
A soldier wielding a crossbow arrived clattering at the top of the steps. She took the gun out and pointed it at him as he took aim at her, but then shook her head, breathed, "Oh, just **** off,” flicked the controls and zoomed into the air, still holding the child. The bolt made a thunking noise as it skittered off the machine’s lower field enclosure.
ITF his tone and approach just feels super towny and pure.
I am glad you caught that too

Oh, I'm getting games confused and I conflated. Grape had a meta read post out there somewhere. I haven't actually had a mafia game with Killjoy so his thing is less weird I guess
Axelrod seems more focused on looking like a slow starter than in actually starting slow (key word starting). There are many players who are struggling to get good reads but at least you see them try, and you don't see them putting most of their energy into telling us what slow starters they are.
Axel, I don't remember you being intentionally obtuse. What about any of the wagons you skipped (Whispy, Umami, Tubba, to a lesser extent me, Shadow)? Is none of that interesting enough to warrant a comment or two? Yet your 2/5 who-cares tier Grape vote is?
Furthermore, you seem well able to post more when it's entirely for self-serving purposes.
ITF town read on me rings like he knows my alignment and is putting the cart before the horse. There is no reason to single me out for changing my mind, other players have done it too and I only did it once so far.
The meta argument is a little better, but easy to fake especially since all he has to do is parrot Rhand while pretending it was his own idea all along. Speaking of which, "I like that ZDS is scumhunting" (270) is not the same as "I think ZDS is town because he is reevaluating his reads" (274 and on), and NEITHER of these hint at an underlying meta read. Ergo I'm calling bull*****.
Umami's last couple posting grapes have been NAI.
@Johnny: The mix of calling out Rhand on his undue confidence then immediately after pointing out how much he doesn't get the Whispy wagon. I interpreted that as "what do you find wrong about this player I know is town?". Not the world's biggest tell but it was good enough for me.

Unvote Vote: ITF
I'm giving some breathing room to Umami in case he keeps improving, and to Axelrod in case he makes some amazing catch-up post. I'm still not impressed with Killjoy but I'm fine voting with him. I disagree to varying extents with all other wagons (if you can even call them that).
Kj #122
Vaimes #146 and #181
Last #189
Gj playing dad
I don’t want to talk about KJ. I think he might have finally rolled mafia, and I would feel terrible lynching him early because he needs the experience of being mafia to grow.
Vaimes doesn’t really give a read on Umami. He just agrees the tone shift exists. NAI I think?
Last also leaves his read in the middle.
None of them are trying to get him lynched, so I have no idea why you’re sending me to all those posts?
And apparently you don’t see those interactions as important either?
this is silly, nothing meaningful has happened
just like the votes on me
they mean nothing
anyways back to ff7
nice to meet you btw
I’m playing that now, hince why I am late to the game.z forgot all about it. Jfc if they make me like aerith this gjame imma flip a table... oh wait they have. GIVE ME A TABLE.
I like this wagon. I do pity Whispy who seems genuinely confused and annoyed by the growing stack of unexplained votes, so here I go:
— Whispy, why did you assume Axel was calling out lurkers seriously, rather than facetiously?
— Generally speaking, why do you have no sense of humour?
— Do you enjoy playing as scum?
— Do you have an opinion on Axelrod?
— Do you have opinions on the players voting you?
I didn't think he was calling out lurkers?
Regardless of what his intentions with that post, I didnt like it
and his next post felt like an appeal
I have a sense of humor, I don't like RVS
I will say that jokes and sarcasm tend to go over my head a lot of the time
I like being a wolf, because I don't have to question if posts are just stupid or malicious
I still have a problem with TMI, and actually pushing towns though when I do roll wolf though
vote: Axelrod
thats my opinion on Axelrod right now
Tom's vote is NAI
Vaimes is being Vaimes, and I don't want to butt heads with him like I did in previous games
Rhand's vote also doesnt really say much, I would like him to tell me why though
ZDS' vote doesnt feel like he actually thinks I am a wolf, questions are ok I guess
Semi worries a bit how I relate to the Rvs and jokes part of this so much.
I'm personally going to take my time with ZDS this game I'm annoyed with how hard pocketed I got, so do not want to make that mistake again.
I don’t plan on having a committed, defensible read on ZDS until some flips start happening. I don’t think he’s someone I can sort right now.
concidering your history playing in this site I.e: how long you’ve played, I am wondering how you cleared Tom so fast when my history leads me to believe you can’t read him for at least half the game.
Anyway @Wisp Umami feels very town to me based on meta but I can't say more than that for the time being. Vaimes has that town!Vaimes sass combined with a relaxed bouncing around feel.
Rhand and ZDS both had posts I liked when Umami was flailing a bit I don't remember much else they have done.
Feels like a tasty mislynch for scum too. Any feels towards that?
ZDS wouldn’t go for LHF as scum I think.
I don’t know Jackrito well so
I think it's pretty clear in town Umani world, that guy is wolf bait.
But honestly, my issue is that I am having a hard time finding wolves. I don't want to just champs rule it up here in this *****, but there is probably at least one wolf in Rodemy/M plus 7/ITF.
My HOT take is that tom might be a wolf.
why me? I don’t lurk as scum. I don’t lurk ever. I legit forgot about the game.
Gotcha is a mindset, you are either obnoxiously thick headed about some catch that may or may not exist, and handle it in a trolly or annoying fashion, which tends to irritate the opposing party
I haven't played much like that since the good ole days where Rodemy used to roll scum every game
dear god, 5 GAMES IN A ROW. Uggghhhh.
I don’t like ITF’s obvtown read of jack. Nobody was obv town that game.
okay I caught up

Thank you for choosing
Rodemy Pizza
It’s not the best choice, but it’s a choice nonetheless
I'm not arguing that I wasn't but I want axel to point to why. I basically hadn't read anything till yesterday and I don't know why I stuck out to Axel compared other low impact people (like Shadow for instance).
So, first you did the thing where you pop in and make some kind of exclamation about the thread, and then leave with promises to post later. I tend to dislike those kinds of posts. I consider them scum+ because it's just what some scum like to do - not say anything and promise to post later. This is not a big tell, just a thing I notice.
Then, however, you didn't do what you said you were going to do - which was post in the morning. So, that could be you (1) forgot, (2) got busy, or (3) were avoiding the thread. That is maybe 1 out of 3 scum+. So, I felt like voting and making a funny, which may not have been very funny, but there it was.
I was, in fact, going to pay attention to what you said when you did post, just to see if it felt natural or not. The joke about Shadow's wife missed for me, and then you seemed conflicted about my vote, like you wanted to take it serious and attack me for it, but you weren't sure it was actually serious or not, so you held off. And, eh, that didn't move the dial very much for me one way or the other, but not enough to make me feel like moving the vote. It's still there now because I haven't taken the time to decide if there's a better place. That might or might not happen today. I think I'm going to start from the bottom up of posters and see if anything sticks out to me.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Me next
ZDS is probably town because he's already post more wolf reads then he did in Prisoners /s
No need for sarcasm, that's actually a very astute observation. I hadn't noticed it myself, but you are completely right that I'm a lot more liberal with my scum reads than I was last game.

Current Jackrito reminds me of how he was in the lategame of Prison Block 2, when he was struggling to make his own mind and relying on me and Rodemy to feed him reads (and then it turned out they were both under my spell all along). My bet is he's in a slump.
Speaking of Rodemy, it's weird to see him relatively tame and sane. I liked crazy Rodemy.
I hate this read

ITF stands for "Is Terribly Fake", vote him.
ZDS is probably town because he's already post more wolf reads then he did in Prisoners /s
You say that jokingly, but I was ready to ride or die ZDS until a kill made zero sense unless he was exactly wolves with someone else.

I don't hate ZDS's vote.
Kind of don't like Jack right now either.

It bothers me that I don't have any strong mafia reads. A few decent town reads is all I've got.
I'll add my vote to the ITF wagon for now, it's pretty useless on VL/A Shadow.
