Pardon my ignorance but do cops roles typically have pre day or day actions? I thought cops were typically limited to night action (according to mafia wiki)
I thought it was obvious given her avatar and matching sig with me.
Although, is there another YWFMLF that you may be confusing her for? this is her first game on this site with that handle.

Generally, but this game DID have a pre-game phase before game start proper.
Cops in MU (and i think POG before, but not sure) turbos have n0 checks on a random vanilla town. The meta grew so that everyone would say fake n0 checks (and subsequent checks) to provide cover. And youd maintain townreading that person so mafia couldnt eliminate you from being the cop.
As mafia, a strategy was to maintain that cop cover on your buddy so you had a low accountability way to powerwolf.
Ive also seen/used it used as shorthand for "this is a townread im not explaining but sticking to anyway"
Now, at some point people started replicating the turbo mafia strategy outside of metas with n0s/cop cover. Which... defeats the original purpose but introduces quite a lot of wifom.
Notably, last just did this as mafia with a partner.
Iirc, it worked for awhile as distancing after he got lynched but didnt get him a win

Something is clearly pinging you with LW and has been since this
Doubling down now, I see. Anyone else wanna see where this goes? Vote Lastwhisper
hi
I know you, i know last, i know what youre seeing.
Not gonna call him town or anything but let him be for a bit
It's not really letting him be for a bit if you throw a big ol'bucket of shade over him. So what was it that made you not want to vote but ok with introducing this?
I've seen worse from Tom, like he said, that really isn't shade, it's just facts, and he seems to be threading carefully with his read on me? Which is probably more Rand town then anything
I have a weird feeling about today though, feels like a lot of ***** got said but that none of it really matters. Not sure if bad townplay or just scumplay - leaning the latter. I should reread later tonight when can take a clearer look to figure out who, if anyone, to pin that on.
what exactly is there to reread? I am confused as to what this post accomplishes?
but sure reread and tell me what peaks your interests
why of all the posts today is thisthe one where you're not sure what it accomplishes? I thought it was pretty clear but I suppose I can go into detail.
First off, I'm simply updating the thread as to where my head is at. Second off, I'm getting a scum ping from how much text has been posted (sizable amount) vs how much we've gotten moved forward from it (mot much). Even if that ping is not in a specific, refined state yet where I can say "________ is scummy for post #XYZ" talking about what I find scummy is generally beneficial, for reasons I assume are obvious. The reread (hopefully) accomplishes that refinement.
It's late AF though so it's not happening tonight.
I mean if people are being fluffy maybe they are being fluffy? Why does it have to mean anything? And what does this scum ping mean? That's my problem, it's just a general, "I have a bad feeling."
It doesn't say anything
It's not the fluffiness though, at least from my first read. I remember seeing lots of questions/talk that seemed to have a point that nobody ever did anything meaningful with. Like, if it was just dog pictures I'd go "yeah that seems fluffy" but it's the like, firehose of uncapitalized game-related discussion that makes me feel like it's Scum trying to seem useful.
I guess it's true that just saying what I did also doesn't accomplish much, but that's why I promised the re-read. If I don't do anything with it, sure, shadecast me then, but I didn't have the time to parse the thread and reread when I made the post. Would you rather I posted nothing? That seems to accomplish absolutely nothing instead of "not much".
but speaking of posts accomplishing nothing, what's your point in calling it out? Am I Scum for it?
no idea, but it accomplishes getting a response from you, wanting to know what the point of that paranoia was
I still don't get what exactly is a wolfy?
you came straight out of the gate with this attitude, which that isn't very nice
maybe less likely to come from a wolf? but nothing conclusive or anything I would push over the content you will continue to probably write
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
I am also not a fan of people telling me they know me, when I dont know them, voting me off RVS, unvoting, and then doubling down as if somehow you can actually say anything I've done is wolfy, and revoting me
Ok, on re-read I think the ones that are responsible for the feeling are KJ and Zion.
KJ does seem genuinely excited and hyper so it might be NAI. To the thread, is KJ usually more directly productive, or is this kind of play typical of them?
Zion... less so. He complains about wanting stuff to do and betting there's Scum in the inactives, but he doesn't do anything other than kind of idly complain they're not here. Why not hunt in the actives? Surely he can't townread every active player. Strikes me more as Scum unwilling to start a wagon of their own and trying to shadecast "the inactives" so that they have broad options to move later.

lack of tone in text makes it come across snarkier than I meant it, sorry
I'm trying to sort out what your motivation is in poking me. Like Sloth's 229# seems pretty genuine and I can get where he's coming from, but I wasn't sure with this. Like, I could see a world where a Scum player wants to shadecast me to get my vote off them, but I don't think that's the case here if you're going to say it's NAI/maybe slightly town
I am also not a fan of people telling me they know me, when I dont know them, voting me off RVS, unvoting, and then doubling down as if somehow you can actually say anything I've done is wolfy, and revoting me
if you wanna tango, we can tango
Oh **** do you not know who I am? I suppose you wouldn't... it's Doop. I said I know you (but only a bit) because you just finished playing in my game.
i'm absolutely not interested in 1v1ing you because I have a weak scumread early D1 lol. I think you think I'm more fervent about this than I am.
Generally, but this game DID have a pre-game phase before game start proper.
It's still probably fake. This game is unlikely to have a straight alignment check, especially a N0, especially especially one that just happened to land on Last
sorry m8, I use this avatar on every forum EXCEPT for SWF because my novelty Doop account ended up becoming my main there, so it never occurred to me that someone might not know who I was (although its obvious when I think about it)
Goddamnit, I ******* hate it when people use this term, for some reason it's hard for me to understand it.
This means you think the probability of them being town is higher than them being scum, right?
It means that I think he's marginally more likely to be town than a random slot I have no read on.
for anyone who knows LW better, is he more or less likely to get this frustrated at me as Scum or Town?
regardless this isn't progressing anywhere atm - I might revisit it later but for now the lw vote isn't doing anything and has no legs vote: zion
LW is likely to get frustrated as both alignments. There is probably a difference between the two but I wouldn't call it alignment indicative in general.
anyone that says I am more likely to get annoyed as one alignment over the other, is lying to you and themselves
I didnt even really get angry?
I think the post was still pointless lol, and I don't see why my alignment would affect how I read that post
your response later in terms of Killjoy/Zion is fine?
but I still don't really understand what that has to do with your original statement
I don't think it's really any one person's fault that the gamestate is the way it is. Nothing latch-worthy has really happened, and I suck at being proactive.
Let's try something.
Grape's townreads were something like me/tom/Wisp/KJ/Zionite? I'll throw Grape in there too for fun. And Sloth, to make Last happy. Leaves:

also in regards to Seasons, I want to focus on the low posters, rather than the top posters, at least currently
which is why I wanted to get KCC to talk, but it seems like she isn't going to do more based on my merits
Not used to being in the ppotential lynch pool on day one, I'm fine with it tbh. Not really sure what KCC and Tubba did to not be in it though,i assume that this is because of meta knowledge or some nonsense since both have being underwhelming to the extreme.
On the other two I really don't rememeber anything YWFM has done this game so guess I should look at them, Flarg is a good lynch for info gathering since they have being the centre of attention so far, like I said eariler I see them as a slight town read but that has fell a bit recently. I want to relook at them as a whole to be sure.
Ok after reviewing YWFM which did not take long, thier only real takes involve Wisp and Sloth. Most of those interaction being mechanics talk about why Wisp thinks sloth is town and the mechanics around it. The lack of interactions with other players apart from one to Tom regarding Wisp is bothering me. I could see this slot as scum but not really a lot to go off

Zion is someone I still have issues with also
I mean, it's not a done deal. I kinda threw it together on the fly to get some discussion going.
It is meta-related, yes.
Do you find that center-of-attention slots flip scum or town more often?
cop check before the game started
Pardon my ignorance but do cops roles typically have pre day or day actions? I thought cops were typically limited to night action (according to mafia wiki)
The infinite possibilities.

You are welcome

Presumably hes doing it here <because> he just did it as scum, for reasons of his own.
I have 5-10 incorrect guesses for what those reasons might be
Sloth, your avatars do not look alike and I have sigs turned off.
Guessing he means I use the same avatar here as I do on DLP

I have two objectives
1. Help my alignment win
2. Not blow up this game regardless of my alignment
I don't parse this. Clarify/rephrase?
lack of tone in text makes it come across snarkier than I meant it, sorry
