KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
Betcha there isn’t a cell with two scum in it. How about we pick a cell to endgame and kill everyone?
I volunteer for my cell to live!
The more I think about this post the more I struggle with it, even if it is a mostly joke-y post.
TownVaimes doesn't just have to worry about a cell with two Scum in it if we endgame our cell, they have to worry that either Rhand or I are Scum. I don't see how TownVaimes gets in the mindset to post this.
ScumVaimes also gets benefit out of posting this, because we'll look back and WIFOM the ***** out of ourselves about number of Scum per cell if we ever lynch them.
What's everyone else's thoughts on this? Mine are vote: vaimes

That could be a thing. I'm not gonna vote it because I don't feel it's super strong, but I do like where your head is at with it. I like the vote as it relates to you.

I don't understand the contrast you're trying to make. I have to worry about a cell with two scum in it and I also have to worry that one of my cellmates is scum? Proposing killing every other cell neutralizes the first two mafia, yes? Or are you framing the potential issue of both you and Rhand being scum?
My thinking was that there is, at most, one scum in a cell. Which means some of the cells are going to be all town. And if there's only one scum with me in my cell, then our cell endgaming doesn't lose town the game.
(This is all hypothetical, I know the cells were randomized.)
I don't really like that post. It's pretty empty analysis, given I jokingly suggested killing everyone except me, basically. I'm not gonna volunteer to endgame and then die.

Ah, I see the point there. I usually think of "endgaming" as literally the state that ends the game (which is a loss if someone in our block is Scum).
I didn't interpret it they way you meant it, which is just bringing us to LyLo if one of us is Scum.
I actually think this is probably a Town post then.

Nothing. I can reasonably guess that you have decent experience playing from post count, which is why I didn't put setting up WIFOM behind you.
I also generally view "haha, i'm making a joke" posts as a minor scumtell - they don't actually achieve anything and are a useful tool to generate thread presence and display a lighthearted/jovial tone to come across as Town tonally, so I feel like Scum actually jokepost slightly more often.

It was mostly RVS, but not entirely.
Given that LW is the only person here I've seen play, I can (hopefully) read them marginally better than the rest of you, so if any RVS wagon took off I'd want it to be them, plus I knew they were in thread.
It became a serious vote when they started the flavor claim thing, but I wanted to see more people talk about it before I acknowledged the vote as serious.

Interesting that Lastwhisper isn't mentioned in regards to "joke" posts, @FlargBlarg. Especially since you did mention a run-away vote train on LW is beneficial to you for reads. Why does LW get a pass?

Idk what he even means by "doubling down"
I am just trying to have fun and not top post
I can't afford to get stressed anymore due to real-life circumstances anyways

Two votes stresses you out? I'm not going to respond to meta reasons to change my play. I do feel for you but you gotta see how it looks.

ohh thats what you mean
I am going to get stressed out by votes as either alignment, and probably care a little more if I was town, than if I was a wolf
but thats just self-meta so you can do w/e with that info
I don't care about these votes on me, because they will most likely lead to nowhere, and/or randomly die off

Even if it doesn't matter at all, I still don't like it. Much like jokeposts, flavor talk is a good way to stay thread-present as Scum.
I think every site I've ever played on has. I see Scum do it slightly more often though, imo.
