If I'm scum and I have a partner in Kitty/Axel, I almost push to take a shot. This obviously doesn't mean a whole lot but last night is +town equity to both.
No lynching was absolutely the right move; ramming through a Lynch in 2 days and like a fourth of the actual town to do it is dumb. I plan on getting some deep rereading done in the near future.
Still think silver is just playing 3rd party to the thread, I mean his questions are fine, I just want him to take some stances
I'm probably reading Silver from a, "this is what I think he should be doing as town, rather than he is actually wolfy", but still I'm not used to it
@silver
Do you just read vaimes as not townie but not wolfy either? If u have reasons to believe he can be town, please let me know
Yeah, kind of. I was town reading his entrance but he's done ~nothing I think is very villagery since then. His claim is ~fine but hardly clearing.
I don't really think I'm acting like a third party but I'm definitely not the center of attention and not trying to be either lol
@tom: Do you think the janitored, private day kill isn't strong enough for all the claimed summer roles to be town? Or that it isn't a summer ability? Both?
id think scum have some amount more than the daykill in summer, even if its just the weak parts of roles that are good in other seasons
I think with vaimes, last, nacho, and masons were down to 12 people with seasonal abilities. So 3 of them having summer as most important with 8 unclaimed is statistically noteworthy
Not much to gain beyond that.
Gaming summer claims individually, daykill is scum so dkings role makes a ton of sense as town. If kcc is town busdriver it diesnt have that elegance.
Kcc/fonti/keldeo my preferred shots.
Also fine with grape/proph/vaimes
Vezok taking a shot immediately is dumb and would kill the utility of us no lynching yesterday. I have some time off in the near future so give me a little time to cobble some things together, holy crap

well for kcc, if shes scum AND truthful the roleblock is about as good as the busdrive
(i maintain my stance delayer is barely better than vanilla as either alignment)
So if you look at that as... about half a manipulative role. Daykill + some other random stuff (strongman in spring is my first thought, but doesnt have to be that themed) is a killing role. So they need an info role and something else.
Axel could be that info role but i think hes town.
Fonti as claimed isnt strong enough but. Well. Lol.
Vaimes, proph, nacho, maybe even last seem like decent candidates for the "something else" but theres still lots of unclaimed
Well, silly seems wrong. You can disagree, but really only if you're strongly scum-reading him. Otherwise Mason is kind of exactly what you would want in this spot.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Well, silly seems wrong. You can disagree, but really only if you're strongly scum-reading him. Otherwise Mason is kind of exactly what you would want in this spot.
id have given it to a mid poe person and made them choose from the cases given.
Not really seeing the point in giving it to vezok
But think it doesnt matter too much. i hope people actually talk about who they want shot unlike talking about who gets to make it. But so far its as boring an ability as it looked
If I'm scum and I have a partner in Kitty/Axel, I almost push to take a shot. This obviously doesn't mean a whole lot but last night is +town equity to both.

Quoting myself here but this reminds me of nothing more than the naivete that let wildfire kill like 3 people in Disinheritance or the faked naivete that scum used to try and cover for him.
Also iirc you vigged a partner as scum in the team game so why would anyone give you the kingship here with the intention of reading you? Seems like a bad value.
@Tom can you explain your fulcrum read to me? Is it just the end of day?
@Vaimes is the recipient of your offer made aware that you gain the ability they give up?
KCC (7) - dkings, kj, tom, Asta, asta, vezok, last
this probably is pretty important, and I've been really focusing on the rest.
IF kcc is town there ought to be some scum here.
Of course theres fonti/keldeo/nacho/axel, who pushed her and were on the wagon at some point but left. But unless theres multiple wolves there its hard to imagine all town in the ones that stayed.
Dkings, sure. Ive got a silly theory that if hes scum he is the actual dayvig. Grabbing the targeting language from his claim from that. Day use but not having a lockin point is weird for a night action. But overall still think role is town and hes ~fine.
Kj is towny enough to me hes dragging rhand above null by association but not towny enough id lock it in
Asta, twice. Its... well this is the role that i most think isnt aligned with dayvig rn. Scum get a daykill and an extra vote in summer could lead to some craziness.
Idk if thats a seasonal ability at all but idk asta in retrospect feels more noob town than he did live.
Vezoks a mason i guess.
Last seems like his town self.
Idk. Its possible but theres no one there that i think is more likely scum than kcc herself or some of the people that left the wagon.
Why arent people that actually think kcc is town doing this?
Well, silly seems wrong. You can disagree, but really only if you're strongly scum-reading him. Otherwise Mason is kind of exactly what you would want in this spot.
I want someone I trust as town + someone whose reads I trust. Do I trust vezok's process as town? No.

Don't understand the comparison you're trying to draw with Disinheritance; how is my thought process similar to what ****ed that game?
I never said that anyone should give the kingship to read me, that would be dumb, so why are you acting like I did in the first place?
There was no utility nacho.
Never was.
You wanted to delay every other role in the game for a watch and busdrive and nothing happened
What are we waiting for now?
For a watch and a busdrive and an actual Lynch that took into account the large pile of things that happened out of and also an actual Lynch from the whole playerlist instead of like three people that may or may not be scum.
@Tom can you explain your fulcrum read to me? Is it just the end of day?
she felt kinda off to me all game really?
Little things like some interactions with gemma where it felt like fonti was steering her, her vs mechanics not quite making sense (questioning kcc/cc ing axel), and a bit that eod.

I don't know what language DV uses when presenting my target with the offer, but I assume they know that I get the ability. I'm a dealmaker - there's no real deal if I get nothing. I'm not over here handing ***** out for free like halloween candy.

both me and last were there because we wanted a lynch. Kcc was neither of our first or second choices as far as i remember.
Is there someone in the actual push before she was forced to claim>CCed>rescinded?
Like if you think kcc is town theres gotta be a better answer to that than the two people youre just refusing to read anyway
I think I construed these posts together. As in the first was saying it was silly and the second was what you would have done. Realizing that's not what you were getting at though. My bad.

@Vaimes see this entire claim feels like a scum role to me. If I were town I'd be very curious as to what the other person knew about the offer and would have asked multiple questions about it. In my eyes it's a soft disruption role that can appear townie similar to something like my swab the deck ability from Pirates. If the person isn't notified that the merchant gets the role it looks even scummier to me. Also is your role completely unrelated to the Blue Orb Vez was talking about?
@Tom how confident are you in LW being town here? I was very confident but a specific thing he's doing is eroding my confidence rapidly. Can you point me to some of the examples you're seeing of him not being frozen?

It really isn't. The person is not obligated to buy an item, and it doesn't disrupt them because I pick my target at Night, and (as far as I know) they have the whole Day phase to decide on an ability to exchange.
If you want the details of what my target knows about the transaction, whether or not they know I get the item, you should be asking vezok.

its like an overall feel vs how hard i had to push him in scumchat to actually do things in modern mafia.
Hes... not doing <that> much. And hes defaulting to the players he naturally like to push. But it doesnt feel super forced
Like. Idk 90% town thats my top tier rn (him, silver, maybe axel)
Also, why would I slash any villager care about what the other person knows? I assume my targets know what I know (that they get presented with items, they can have one, and I get one in return), minus the redacted thing I can't talk about. I asked a lot of questions, but I'm not gonna lay out every single thing I asked DV in the thread.
Honestly, Axel's Iso of me feels like someone who is not informed, its comes off as very natural, and hes not calling me super obvious town, or like super obvious wolf
Tom/Killjoy are both my towncore
Axel is less but almost there
I trust Tom, but I dont trust his read on Silver, but given his post count, and his consistent thoughts and questions, I guess he is fine, but like I really want Silver to push something with conviction, with real thoughts, that will solidify a town read on him for me
the same pretty much goes for Vaimes, more so that I want to see some conviction from him, but he is definitely not consistent compared to Silver or pretty much at all

shadow/Proph gave vezok the blue orb. Unrelated.
Just making sure. Vez initially seemed to believe they were related so I just wanted to make sure they weren't. As for asking Vez good point.
@Vez can you clarify if you were aware the merchant would get the ability you gave up if you'd had one to give up?
Anyway my thought process is that if it isn't notified to the recipient it's clearly a scum role and Vaimes messed up claiming it.
@Tom I'm asking because I'm getting a "I've learned!" vibe from LW. His complete tunnel on Vaimes feels like him trying to apply the lessons from Modern here as scum. He seems almost completely unwilling to really push anything else and has that stuck vibe whenever he is pushed to take a stand on anything else. The role is probably town though. I we have to wait and see but that sort of role usually is town. The king maker is pretty neutral though.
What does fonti as scum gain from CC'ing Axel? Do you think it was a play for towncred, do you think she thought that she could get him lynched?
see i dont have an answer for that but it still seems less mystifying than why townfonti would CC axel so im
My last game on here, a few years ago, was a role heavy game where I did not cc scum for a Day or two, and got lynched for it primarily because I claimed later. Iirc, I did not counterclaim because I thought the roles could have conceivably both been in the game. Also iirc, this was a major reason the game was lost. That, combined with the fake that ability name learning part of Axel's claimed role is incredibly similar to mine, is why I claimed.
I think I construed these posts together. As in the first was saying it was silly and the second was what you would have done. Realizing that's not what you were getting at though. My bad.

like
I can see it
Basically hes retreating into NAI pushes instead of doing real things
Its definitely the 10% or whatever that keeps it from a lock.
But he was also on every single one of those peak wagons i just colored which seems a good sign for him
I do not have the ability to target. During three different seasons, I see someone who took an action, I see the name of an action that was taken, and I see two abilities that could have been taken during that abilities' season.
like, other than both being info about night actions...
I guess one of his and two of hers give rolenames but 3 different ways?
@Grapes
I mean this game is hard, I am way more confident in my town reads this game, and given that we no lynched, and given that my ability probably stopped the night kill, there is no additional information to work with me
Ask yourself this, does it look like I am trying to look town, or does it feel like I am trying to hunt wolves?
also think about things that are hard to mimic as a wolf, having the balls to just vote anyone at any time, and being on most if not all the top trains?
Learning and implicating are two very different things, it's like practicing on bots and expecting a smooth transition onto real players
Welp, there’s no way I’m getting caught up anywhere close to soon. I’m in disaster recovering mode at work since Friday, and on call perpetually, so I’m not even gonna try, since it’s either get sleep or backread 250 posts; someone give me the quick and dirty or what’s gone down since around post 100, with some color commentary. Most entertaining/useful answer gets something special
It's day 1. You missed almost nothing. KCC claimed a scummy role and nacho tried some rolefishing to get to claim. KCC refused.
Otherwise it's just people bickering about unimportant stuff.
So I have this conundrum, I’m working extra long, hyper busy shifts, and am frankly mentally checked out when I get home, but I love my role too much to replace out (and it should get better soon...I hope...).
Anyway, Vez, I did enjoy your answer to me about summing up the thread, so thanks for that.
I’m just gonna grab things as I see them I think.
@sIlver: not that I’m one to talk, but you’ve actually been present in the thread, how do you only have 2 town reads?
@gemma: who are you specifically not town reading?
(The temptation to just ignore Last after that chagrin post about being ignored is rather high, would be funny)
@Nacho: what is your first impression on KJ not reacting to a vote on him, think he should have?
Oh, I apparently am still voting silver, heh Unvote
Guess RVS is sort of over.
Someone give me the quick and easy on DK.
I’m actually agreeing with Vaimes, if a single 4 wagon is the biggest so far, then this game is significantly slower in votes compared to the past few large games.
~~~~~
That’s a good start I think. If you want my specific thoughts on something, hit me up with a quote and a question.
Kcc/fonti/keldeo my preferred shots.
Also fine with grape/proph/vaimes
that seems silly
dkings (7): Silver, Asta, kcc, Grape, Nacho, last, vaimes
Axelrod (6): Kj, Keldeo, vezok, Rhand, fulcrum, gemma
Mind and kcc got voted by town.
Just making sure. Vez initially seemed to believe they were related so I just wanted to make sure they weren't. As for asking Vez good point.
@Vez can you clarify if you were aware the merchant would get the ability you gave up if you'd had one to give up?
Anyway my thought process is that if it isn't notified to the recipient it's clearly a scum role and Vaimes messed up claiming it.
@Tom I'm asking because I'm getting a "I've learned!" vibe from LW. His complete tunnel on Vaimes feels like him trying to apply the lessons from Modern here as scum. He seems almost completely unwilling to really push anything else and has that stuck vibe whenever he is pushed to take a stand on anything else. The role is probably town though. I we have to wait and see but that sort of role usually is town. The king maker is pretty neutral though.
My last game on here, a few years ago, was a role heavy game where I did not cc scum for a Day or two, and got lynched for it primarily because I claimed later. Iirc, I did not counterclaim because I thought the roles could have conceivably both been in the game. Also iirc, this was a major reason the game was lost. That, combined with the fake that ability name learning part of Axel's claimed role is incredibly similar to mine, is why I claimed.
Just ask @Vez if it said those things.
I can see it
Basically hes retreating into NAI pushes instead of doing real things
Its definitely the 10% or whatever that keeps it from a lock.
But he was also on every single one of those peak wagons i just colored which seems a good sign for him
I guess one of his and two of hers give rolenames but 3 different ways?
Not that similar.
I mean this game is hard, I am way more confident in my town reads this game, and given that we no lynched, and given that my ability probably stopped the night kill, there is no additional information to work with me
Ask yourself this, does it look like I am trying to look town, or does it feel like I am trying to hunt wolves?
also think about things that are hard to mimic as a wolf, having the balls to just vote anyone at any time, and being on most if not all the top trains?
Learning and implicating are two very different things, it's like practicing on bots and expecting a smooth transition onto real players
also, is my tunnel even bad? like is Vaimes even townie to you? I am all ears as to why Vaimes is possibly town?
I guess the exact timing doesn't really matter to me not knowing what the orb is, but just to clear it up.
I don't really get why it made you think they were town when even you don't know what the orb is for, but. Okay.
because his mason buddy hasn't claimed
He honestly should've claimed when Vezok claimed
