@Wisp why bother with the whole "I can't do that to my brother" and "Pretend my vote is still on Shin" things then? His being at L2 vs L3 doesn't really change the pile on dynamic. And if you were worried about the wagon dynamics why act like it was about feeling guilty about voting your brother? I know you're inconsistent but that isn't so much changing your mind as it is changing your reasoning when pushed. Which is a scum thing to do.
I did it because my vote was previously there, and I wanted to show how unlikely a mafia hit is put at L2, 9 days before EoD
Its a combination of both, it was even before I mentioned wagonomics (also this has nothing to do with, "I can't do this to my brother", and I don't know where that interpretation came from)
Who is pushing me? I can barely remember what I eat for breakfast, let alone the reason why I called someone town in post #900 vs post #950, it's just another means to the end, the path may have changed but the end goal is still the same. You are either towny for being inconsistent or you are not, there aren't levels to inconsistency, we aren't playing Doom...
If/when I get lynched or die in the night and flip town, what then?
(also I don't want to hear how this question is dumb, I just want answers.
I don't like letting my wagon happen that's the problem, I'd rather pull off all suspicion on me as early as possible
and I'd ask that question whether I was at L8 or L2...
Why would you scrutinize DV?
also, you cant say, "**** it", and say the decision that came after it was easy... that's not how any of this works
I seem to remember you like early wagons on you so you can analyse them? Wasn’t that what you did in Ghostbusters?
Okay then what is the other meaning? Because I'm drawing a blank.
And there hasn't been time to get complacent. This game is not even a week old and I only started scum reading you strongly in the last 8 hours.
the statement sounds like it's a biased reason, but the reasons are more tangible, and I was referring to not be complacenct with the thread and still actively pushing RE
I don't like letting my wagon happen that's the problem, I'd rather pull off all suspicion on me as early as possible

I would read DVs <whatever> with you being town in mind. Yknow... playing mafia
I'm not really sure what you're seeing with that vote but I don't care that much
there isn't much else to say at this point, I'm saying its scummy for the above reasons, you are always going to argue otherwise regardless of your alignment, and its not damning evidence, so lets move on, I'm not getting lynched today, and neither are you, and that's a fact
I'm literally not sure what those reasons are though
It certainly wasn't a hard vote for me, and there's no emotion involved...
Think it's unlikely w/w based on faction and if last is scum his shin read looks a bit TMI to me
Would pretty happily kill either. If we hit scum the others prolly town
What about if we hit town? Does that make the other scum?
no, but it makes it more likely by some amount.
Really I'm at "there's a pretty good chance that there's scum in that faction"
Like, if the % on 3 random names is ~75 by stats, those 2 plus kj is something like 85-90 just based on relatively even distribution of scum within factions and knowing im town.
Currently feeling a bit better about shin. I read some of his words in bed last night and while they dont do much for me they do <generally> sound like shin and I liked that's he's down with finding scum in our faction (assuming im vaguely on the right track)
But i dont think I'd ever be super comfortable with an individual behavioral read on him. We're too far apart in terms of how we think
Last I'm currently voting
Kj very much pending but townier than last
So let's go with that 90 and assign it at
Shin 25%
Kj 30%
Last 35%
Hello mafia game friends. I was in the ER yesterday after passing out due to severe dehydration. Apparently when you vomit all day if you try to stand up with no liquids in your body your blood pressure drops and your body will insist on falling back down. Doing OKish today, very drained and on a lot of medications for my other illness.
I apologize for the request for a "cut to the chase", but I hope you all will b understanding if I ask for a summation of events over the last day? Has Shin wow'd the world?

Reading backwards I notice Tom wants me to read more Shin games. I have to be honest when I say I find Shin's posts hard to read and I am unsure if I will gain anything from previous Shin games unless I know exactly what I am looking for with precision. Like I get the gist that he goes on adventures and isn't a very technical player - trust me, I just got done defending Osi who was playing bad on purpose for like three weeks. I like to believe I have some credibility when it comes to being able to tell the difference between "not so technical town" and scum.
Also Tom I am all for games but for you in particular you have about a random chance of finding mafia (1/3) even if your theory is true, and while I think it is (hi Shin) I don't think basing an entire day of gameplay around it is particularly sound. So I am assuming your other faction involves you murdering one of the shin/wisp/kj faction and you are disguising it with this logic to benefit your goals.

i mean what you'd be looking for is "Oh god he's always like this" or something.
Idk im specifically remembering the team game i was in with him if youre interested
I'm not "basing a day" on it. Im basing part of my read on 3 people ok it, and 2 of those people are currently major topics.
I feel no desire to discuss my various win conditions. But i will not pretend to be playing solely to my town one at any point.
I believe last is most likely scum in the faction at current.
Busy weekend, working on catching up, but it may be a little bit because I'm still very busy. I did have one response I wanted to get out there in the meantime, though, because it really bugged me at the time, and I just got to where Grape responded.
Grape, regarding your response in 794, I'm specifically talking about the timeframe when Wisp came under suspicion, which I see as starting with his gif reaction to RE in 479. Tom naked votes Wisp in 480; DV adds his support, naming Wisp as his #2 suspect (but says he wants to keep voting you, Grape), 484 is Wisp with another reaction gif and another in 487, causing DV to vote him in 488. You make 489, but don't comment on Wisp (which is whatever, he only has two votes). Highroller says he's ok lynching Wisp (or LnG or Shin), and you respond to him with a comment about the mod editing the first post. That causes HR to reassess, and he votes Wisp in 495. Wisp makes 496/497, which feels to me like a serious attempt to address his wagon (could come from either town or scum, but it feels like a wake up moment). 500 you're still focused on LnG. 515 you respond to LnG and comment on Chris's hydra that Tom brought up. 530 is when RE votes Wisp. 541 is Wisp's defeatism, and he gets snarky in 542. I feel by this point, four votes, bristly emanating from Wisp all over the place, he's firmly at least one of the main focuses of the thread, probably replacing LnG as the main focus (he's certainly the leading wagon). 543 you respond to RE and LnG, with neither response pertaining to Wisp. 549 you again respond to RE, still without any comment on Wisp.
That's why I asked my question in 571, because the focus of the thread shifted significantly, and I didn't see anything from you that gave me a feel for where you stood on Wisp during him getting run up. It very much felt like you were avoiding commenting on it. The thread has gotten away from me, so...
Unvote
Until I catch up and determine whether my vote should still be on Shinichi.
Got back. Read through the last 6 or so pages that I missed.
First things first: unvote vote shinichi
1. Chris's "catch" is a reasonable start. It's not a solid scumlock by itself - town do indeed contradict themselves sometimes - but it's better than most other things we have at this point.
2. Good information potential on this kill; a scum flip tells us a lot about Chris, DV and Last. I think a town flip tells us somewhat less.
One other (possibly?) minor thing I noticed that I don't think anyone commented on. 1053nm came in with a post with fairly detailed-looking analysis... but commented as if DV's neutral claim was real. If 1053nm is doing analysis, it's surprising that they missed DV immediately retracting the neutral claim.

So working on catching up and haven't read the last few pages, but I did come across this and either after 6 times rereading the OP I am just blind at the mention of a 5 man scum team or Highroller slipped. Also somewhat strange that he says if scum have daychat when it's in the OP and despite my limited amount of focus on this game pretty sure I remember it being brought up in thread. Sorta smells like trying to be extra coy and the whole, "guys, lets avoid mafia on the throne OK!" just feels forced.
Can someone please explain to me why Grapefruit is the leading wagon?
Can you explain why he shouldn't be?
What an incredibly unhelpful post!
No, seriously, what is the reason for the Grapefruit wagon? You, for example, jumped on it with no explanation.
Regarding the Iron Throne: If the mafia have daychat, that means one of them is likely to start out with 4 votes just right off the bat. Even without daychat, we are still very likely to be at a disadvantage from the get-go. A mafia on the throne would be bad news for any town. We should work to avoid that.
Personally, I think the vote would best go to either Vaimes or myself. Vaimes because I agree that we're dealing with TownVaimes, and myself because I think pretty much everyone who's played with me in a previous game has said, "Yeah, Highroller's in keeping with his past behavior."
Vote: Highroller
Also, lets put me on the throne. It's my birthright.

That is...very potentially a slip.
I don't see a mention of scumteam size in the OP. Could be 4 or 5 depending on if there's a neutral?
@Cantrip, to be fair, I wouldn't hold it against anyone for not reading Shin/LW because frankly, their posts can be hard to follow (Shin's specifically).
@Highroller, let's make this easy. Do you think that GF is, overall, town, scum, or neutral?
@Chris, I voted for you! *thumbs up*
But I'm willing to vote Vaimes. He feels pretty towny too. Can we get a count going of who is up for Iron Throne? Just add it to the bottom of your posts.
@Kami, while DV retracted that statement, it felt weird to me which is why I asked for clarification. I don't think it's alignment indicative, especially for someone who doesn't play often.
I am kinda fine with voting HR... but mostly because I seemingly can't help but scumread. That's... not really a good reason to vote him, and I know that. But... he and I will probably clash all game unless one of us is mechanically cleared.
@everyone, if you had a vig shot that would kill you if you missed (desperado, right?), who would you aim for?
@SirChris Hi! The main difference between Osie in the last game is that was intentional bad play. Shin just plays like this. Also you're case is kind of bad. The logic is garbled but it seems clear to me that the focus of that excerpt is his read on Wisp not his read on Rod.

I guess I didn't feel like his bristly and gif'y posts were worth commenting on. Given that otherwise I hadn't ignored him before that window or after it what do you gather from my ignoring him for 150ish posts?
Got back. Read through the last 6 or so pages that I missed.

What does a Shin scum flip tell you about Wisp?
Also given that multiple have missed DV's retraction what does it tell you about 1053nm missing it?
@Vaimes what changed from yesterday? You seemed to be largely at confusion, do you have no scum reads stronger than that?
@Tom, I think we should put the best players on the Throne and force them to be townie. Plus, last game I saw Chris scum, I don't think he was as boastful as he is here, which gives me a good gut feeling.
I don't mind voting Vaimes as he is likely town too, but I think Chris will challenge more which should make his alignment easier to determine.
Got back. Read through the last 6 or so pages that I missed.

I'm confused--where do I say he's neutral? I thought in that post I said I thought it would be interesting to have a mafia iron bank? B/c I think that "Iron bank" in general is something that people view as a tool/a resource that can be used--like Switzerland. He immediately tells us how he can help everyone with his abilities--abilities that don't appear to directly benefit him, so people might not naturally think of him as a threat.

Hunger pointed it out a couple posts earlier on this page.
I just spent 15 minutes trying to put vaimes avatar on Sean beans body on a phone am i not capable of that as scum?
Currently voting SIR CHRIS for the Iron Throne
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Vaimes is king of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the first men. Lord of the 7 kingdoms, and protector of the realm
I guess I didn't feel like his bristly and gif'y posts were worth commenting on. Given that otherwise I hadn't ignored him before that window or after it what do you gather from my ignoring him for 150ish posts?
What does a Shin scum flip tell you about Wisp?
Also given that multiple have missed DV's retraction what does it tell you about 1053nm missing it?
@Vaimes what changed from yesterday? You seemed to be largely at confusion, do you have no scum reads stronger than that?
I don't mind voting Vaimes as he is likely town too, but I think Chris will challenge more which should make his alignment easier to determine.

I clearly believe in a 4-man mafia team. 5 man would only be balanced if we had at least 20 players total and weren't set up to be uncooperative with one another.
