Awesome game to watch. I nailed Shadow and cantrip, but thought last was their partner instead of rhand :). Mostly because last was pushing to keep both him and rhand on missions, and dummy rhand. I'm not sure what you expected to glean from that. Especially later when you got the single fail, and it's like "*****, nothing here really settled that dichotomy".
Ironically, Cantrip's mission 4 was what won the game. Great job pushing that one through. Although saying he dummied shadow, I was like huh? I'd have loved to see you be like, "not telling muahahahaha",
I was cheering for you lggnr. Don't give up next time. I think your instincts to be reasonable did you a disservice. But well played for sure.
Shadow was great, Couple comments were a little greedy. Casting shade on lggnr at the end *probably* wasn't needed and I thought might tip someone off that you needed lggnr dummied to win.
I think the dummy mission is actually sided to whichever team got missions to run. When it was town-controlled it helped town, and when it was scum-controlled it was pretty impactful for scum (well, or *should* have been, had I played it better).
When my mission 4 was accepted I literally asked Grape for the full 24 hours to make my decision because I wanted to look at all the angles and see what options would play best. I briefly considered saying I dummied Shadow and he failed (in addition to the two fails that were recorded), but knew that would confirm me as scum to Wisp (because Rhand wasn't on the mission and there can't be four scum) and I didn't know if that would create enough town equity for Shadow to make that worth it. But then life interfered as it always does and I came back to people asking for my dummy choice and I just blurted out the level 1 response. Really really wish I had said I dummied a townie who passed. But I like Shadow and Mind's suggestion of trolling with "no telling". That would have been hilarious, too.
I wouldn't like playing this all the time, but it's an enjoyable variant, and I hope to someday play as town. I feel like that's really the harder alignment to play (especially since both games I've played the scum have won).

What went through your brain when I proposed that shadow was scum with rhand? With like, a sentence of analysis.

I am also called Riku. I tend to prefer being called riku.
I had so much fun modding this. At various points throughout the game I had each member of scum question what the others were doing.
Killjoy and LnGrrrR's roleplay was a delight and I was happy they felt inspired by the flavor. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep up the scenes. I'm not a skilled creative writer and I really struggled to get out what I did.
I found it incredibly stressful that the game came down to KJ effectively deciding in a LYLO after he'd had to do that in the last game.
When Wisp dummied Rhand on N2 I thought the game was over. I was so impressed by scum fighting back from that. Having to get three straight and two on one mission with a scum already 1 for 1'd is so hard but they managed it.
The Dummy mechanic really changed the game starting at mission 3. Normally the practice would be to cycle a lot of players out who weren't trusted but in the case keeping Rhand in to dummy and minimize unknowns put a ton of power in the hands of the mission leader and Shadow managing to be the leader swung the entire game.
And my absolute favorite thing this game was already mentioned but Cantrip voting for a mission that would lose him the game was an absolute baller move. Just ice cold and I'm so impressed he managed to call that vote count.
Ohhh that was the other thing! Like Mind said I kept expecting people to turn on Wisp after mission 3. I figured there would be a strong Wisp vs Rhand/Shadow dichotomy forming. The fact that he pushed so hard to keep both him and Rhand on the mission for 3 made me think people would turn on him after the fail but that just didn't happen. Credit goes to KJ, LnG, and Riku for reading him right, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have after that.
I had a lot of fun in the beginning trying to really comminicate with Shadow and Cantrip.
@Cantrip: did you miss the whole idea of going on mission with us 3? Or did you disagree on doing it?

Can't remember exactly, but probably the same feeling I got when LnG called the whole scum team and highlighted why it was likely: initial sinking sensation followed by "but can he make others believe it?"

I wanted no part of that. One of my biggest fears in this game as scum is going on an early mission with my buddies and no one failing because they think the other(s) will or everyone failing. And if multiple scum are on M1 and everyone passes, then it's only compounded M2...everyone passes and suddenly we're in danger of winning the game for town because no one knows who's going to fail.
@Cantrip: the idea was that you as leader would fail and both of us would pass.
I was trying to tell you that
When Lngr figured out the team, I was very much afraid of him finding those posts.

See...this is why I wanted no part of it. I'm horrible at reading between the lines, apparently.
And...to be honest, that sounds like a horrible M1. I'd have to say that I dummied one of you and you passed and then identify the other as scum. At which point, why wouldn't town just go "welp, that's a mess of uncertainty, why not try M2 with no one that was on M1"?
@Riku, you can just admit you were wrong you don't have to find a reason to blame me.
I did admit I was wrong. I also explained how I came to the conclusion. If you're taking it more seriously than that, that's because I naturally exude ******** airs.

So yeah, I knew it was risky, but it paid off in the long run.

I kept going over *****. You kept acting scummy in the final mission. What did you expect?

Leader fails, but mission one is an all pass then mission 2 is a leader Fail. Would have been excellent.
