Extending off of Tau, I mean you stated u didn't really believe it, you could've just held onto the info, or just outright stated what happened, while also saying you didn't necessarily believe he was scum, the way u went about it was dangerous
@tau
Answer my question, why did you discredit all your reads instead of evaluating it more naturally? And let's say we Lynch ERT and he flips mafia, what he claims means absolutely nothing despite what you believe, that's such a level-0 fancy play that creates more wine than anything, what were your plans if ETR flipped mafia? Despite the fact that again, they didn't align at all with the people you claimed it be scum and voted
I thought grapes response to it was super towny...
Both etr and Tau need to be evaluated, that's regardless of ETRs flip
That underlined part is spooky. If you're not town, you're a ton better at this game than I am.
Yeh I keep thinking about this and can’t wrap my head around this thought.
@Mind: do you really not realise that if EtR flips scum and is scum with tau, he won’t flip neighbour?
And that that means that if he does flip scum neighbour, tau is cleared?
Hmm didn't think about that, unless Tau wants to go into more details about his role, like can he neighborize someone new every night, if his first one was randomized, if not, why not just call them Mason's, unless Mason's are just called neighbors on this site
@EtR Can you go into more detail? What were your plans for this Night phase? What were you going to do this Night phase had we lynched a member of Mafia who wasn't in {Rhand/tomsloger/Lastwhisper}? What would have done had I played along for a couple more days? Or saved one of your "scumbuddies" in a very scummy way? Did you think my claim was a scumtell, nulltell, or towntell?
The plan at lease for the night phase (if we both made it) was to see where you were at and potentially feed more false info back to you. If one of my claimed scum flipped town it wouldn’t matter. You would know I was lying about them being scum but it wouldn’t prove anything. I could be scum lying about who’s on the team or town. If they did flip scum, I’m not sure. Didn’t think that part through.
My real plan was just to watch and see what you did with the info. If you started to defend people I named as scum I would out you. If you didn’t change your play I would continue to watch and wait.
I took the claim in the chat as null, in game as town leaning.
I thought grapes response to it was super towny...

It was spooky because it was part of my redacted reasoning, which nobody can prove really, so whatever. But I liked that thought also coming from Whisper, which reinforces my town read on him.

can't they both be scum? As neighbors I mean?
Yes, and that's a weird play as well. I mean maybe it clears Tau for a while but he'd be tainted for the rest of the game.
One thing that strikes me though, in the ETR response and also Tau's acceptance: Neither one seems to have questioned the number of mafia in the game. ETR just proclaimed the number of mafia at 4 (and it doesn't look like Tau questioned it). I haven't played in a while, but is there a pretty standard algorithm for balancing town VS scum? Or am I reading too much into that?
Thank you for bringing that up. My thought was that Tau should have questioned the number I provided if he is not scum. If he is town and I claimed 3 is that a reasonable number? My leaning was 4 total that's why I only named two others.
Alright so i already know etr didnt name 3 scum. Im town, and i believe last and rhand to be as well.
It is weird he named 3 others and just claimed to have intentionally only named 2, but im not unpacking that yet...
The part very likely to be true is they are neighbors. Assuming flips are some semblance of normal, theres little profit to lying about that so we can pretty much eliminate w/w.
V/v neighbors always a possibility mechanically, and i can see thst here too. Towntau making a gambit, townetr just going lol what is this guy doing and making those posts. Its viable.
Scumetr/towntau definitely a think. Obviously in that world he didnt fall for it and... i guess maybe named a buddy or whatever or just 3 town and idk. That part of the plan for scumetr im not sure on. But pointing to this is... no real sign he tried to use it to figure tau out, or considered he was just regular scum gambiting (thats prolly the most important point towards scumetr, looks like he only considered trueclaiming lost wolf or gambiting town), and specifically said his flip means nothing for tau...
Last world is townetr/scumtau... which feels pretty unlikely. Like, as a way to claim neighbor, its pretty provocative and moves the game and *****. Its too bold for scum that was already in fine position. Guess the exception there is his buddy was getting run up but eh, its still so early... amd he would have had to set it up even earlier. So not really buying that.
Only real thing that points to this is... like... lol does towntau really believe that would work?
He claims it worked once but... flipless multiball on fantasystrike is barely the same game as an mtgs normal.
Meh on that.
Gonna say aorn etrtau>etrtau>>>>>>>>>etrtau and only revisit etrtau if flips are ****y
4 scum in 16 is by far most likely, for the record.
And that being the part mindreaver wanted to comment on kinda screams scum that doesnt want to get involved in the actual argument
This is my tunnel tbh. Lngrr still needs pressure, etr should be and is going to be a wagon, grape still needs to flip eventually ( )
But this is most likely scum imo vote mindreaver
Question Time (starting page 5)
@TAU - what are your thoughts on Tubba and KA

@Wisp - Top Town Read?
@Tom - Top Town Read?
So:
The scumteam is EtR, Rhand, Lastwhisper, and tomsloger.
Vote: EtR

So turns out I messed up the signal anyway. KA and Tubba were the ones I meant to signal. Hence the 2 not 3.

oh cool.
You/tubba/kami sounds way more like a real scumteam (or 3/4s of it)
This is the only correct course of action now. The reactions - particularly from EtR, to a lesser extent from Tom and Wisp - make me believe Tau hit the jackpot. Tom and Wisp are just tone reads. EtR has an implausible explanation: going along with a claimed scum neighbor, then sending a signal - which they "messed up", but which also just so happens to also actually match the real requested signal.
I'm 80-90% on this being a successful Tau play, in which case I am certain it's the most powerful Mafia play I've ever seen.

you can actually shove this post, and how you can even think this argument would give anything other than wine...
This is the most obtuse, and tonally scummy response
This is a piss poor evaluation of that Gambit, by far out of everyone in this game that commented on it

Can you point to specifically the reactions from Tom and Wisp that make you think that? Or me for that matter? You've made the most boring blanket statement possible here.
Actually if anything, I would agree with Tom, that a long side this post, you could easily just be a partner bussing ETR if he was indeed mafia
I absolutely loathe how you just jumped on me and tom with weak reasons such as tone, fine argue that ETR is scum here, I agree, but anything after his flip is not that ******* simple

Look, I would also be frustrated if I was scum and my scumbuddy outed the whole team D1, but you don't need to take it out on other players.
Taking out EtR is the only reasonable action for any townie. An EtR scum flip solves the entire game. That's something that rarely happens, and never happens D1. On the off chance that you're town as a "marked target", even then it would make sense to resolve this now rather than waiting while under a cloud of suspicion.
I'm gonna walk away before I say these I regret, because you don't understand how the game of mafia works, I'm asking you to literally Lynch me, just to prove to how nonsense that line of thinking is
Lynch ETR and then Lynch me, because honestly if I'm gonna have to spend the rest of the game being belittled by someone because of some stupid Gambit, just to flip town, who let me remind you, already claimed to be a PR
You can never argue any bit of ******* confidence that if ETR flips scum, that any of the people he listed are scum, ever, from that claim alone...
Bull***** an ETR scumflip solves the entire game.
It gives good wagon info sure. But the only thing it should lock for anyone is towntau and the scumteam is never exactly etr/me/rhand/last, because no ******* way lol.
Are you actually suggesting scum ETR believes tau, outs his whole team, and just kept his fingers crossed?
And no, regardless of if ETR flips red, this is not auto, because I heavily doubt that Tom and Rhand flip red compared to you, or Grr, or even Mind, and I'm town...

@etr
Even before I knew about Tau's Gambit, I hated how you evaluated the game during your catchup, lots of shade and I did not like how you discredited people's reads of me especially before even knowing why
How you handled the situation was honestly poor imo, and 99% time you have to die, regardless of your alignment
