I didn't call my vote random. From the perspective another person though, I can see why they'd think it's random because I didn't offer reasoning at first.

From what I saw and a little guess work of my own - Killmatronix's labeling of my vote as bad scum was somewhat an unwarranted attack. However, if I am scum, he's unlikely to be scum.
Why am I scum here?
Why should I unvote? My vote on Kami accomplishes nothing as would me not voting at all. I didn't see it as worth it, and I don't really like unvoting either unless I have to prevent an early hammer.
KA trying to start the game is NAI. I read the posts as forced - because it seemed to me what he was questioning was fluff, which I initially associated with scum, but I can also see town asking those questions. Now why would you omit my actual reasoning for voting him in your "original thought"?
Also, your reaction was not so much a reaction as a question. Not interesting. Your vote on me is another thing entirely, and I look forward to what you'll do next ^^

It's a thing people do on ToS, seeing how there's a timer, and folk need to push for a hanging before the night. So people just vote for unproven people, shifty strats. Reckon that what scum would want, but now that I've seen Re's reasoning, I'm more at ease. No reasoning gave me a bad vibe is all.
Probably difference in style then...?
Like what did you make of everyone else's votes with reasoning unrelated to the game? Obviously my vote was a bit late for RVS but you seem to go after it because it was random - and RVS is literally random voting stage.
We have a while to sort this. It's unlikely my first vote would be my last. Not including reasoning to a read is a bit more fun than including it right off the bat. We get reactions like yours and vez's.
Which reminds me - @vez. Why do you think it's bad?
A vote without a reason even in RVS looks like scum trying to blend in.

Hmm, I'm not sure how this logic would apply to my post. I was the first one to vote Kami, and we have a long time before the deadline. I understand finding lack of a reason suspicious, but not so much thinking I was trying to lynch someone.

What does this sentence mean?
I'm not sure how to explain it any more, but I'm saying that Tom's reaction to Killmatronix's comment on my vote was reasonable, as was his vote on Kill. It was clear to me why Tom labeled me and Kill as W/V, but not why Dan did so.

As he drove along the peaceful highway, he soon fell to daydreaming and paid less and less attention to where he was going. In a short time, he wasn't paying any attention at all, and that is why, at a fork in the road, when a sign pointed to the left, Milo went to the right, along a route which looked suspiciously like the wrong way.

My reaction was very clearly implying that something was unusual about your vote. You didn't see me running around naked quoting other people's votes. Shouldn't something about that have stood out to you?
And to say why I think Killma is town, but you are scum has not been explained is admitting to have not read 101. Literally my first line explains a townlean on Killma. @Vez Nothing else to say?
@Tom Mikey doesn't seem to have defensible thoughts on anything at this point. Why do you think that I'm likely scum if I'm wrong about a page 3 read? Doesn't strike you as a bit lynch-chainy? Either attack my logic or agree with it, don't drive-by shade me.
@RE It's not your lack of reasoning that bothered me. It's that you needed to be pushed repeatedly before you provided motivation for the vote, as though you were trying to hide your cards somehow:
"Repeatedly" is an exaggeration. There were two people and two posts. My first post after my vote was an explanation for it. I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Not so much hiding my cards as wanting to see how people would react to it.
*snip*Obviously my vote was a bit late for RVS but you seem to go after it because it was random - and RVS is literally random voting stage.

I don't know why you would think that implies my vote is random. I'm only suggesting it would be unlikely that I would be sticking to my first read/vote (in defense to Kill's suggestion that I was attempting to random lynch). It's purely based on past experiences, and logically without more evidence, early reads (this early, at least) have a tendency to be inaccurate.
My reaction was very clearly implying that something was unusual about your vote. You didn't see me running around naked quoting other people's votes. Shouldn't something about that have stood out to you?
No, it seemed to me you were curious about it. If anything, it seemed that you thought I may have been onto something. What interests me is how it affects people's reads of me, not them asking why (sometimes them asking why, not in this case though). Your attack of me is hands down malicious. You're misunderstanding a couple things I've said and using your misinterpretations to paint me as scum. You seem extremely dedicated to labeling me as scum by stating what I did but failing to explain how it actually makes me scum. Unusual =/= scum. And neither does malicious, not all the time.
And to say why I think Killma is town, but you are scum has not been explained is admitting to have not read 101. Literally my first line explains a townlean on Killma. I don't think that my post implied a dichotomy, although I can see why one would interpret it that way. Considering you barn'd Tom's read which was a dichotomy, I think it is the expected interpretation. Personally, I have seen a number of new scum pull off innocence. It doesn't do anything for me. What do you make of this:
Couldn't we try and find more solid clues than just post posts voting for folk?
To me, that's exactly what went down page 1. That's exactly what the RVS votes were - random votes accompanied by silly reasoning. When only taking into account the game-related reasons ("solid clues") - my vote was the equivalent of Cantrip's, vez's, yours, and his own. Why is my vote random lynching, but not theirs?
(Also Sentenza is in a league of her own.)

On one hand, what RE did is scummy, but his follow-up is not. His reaction makes much more sense as town being mad than scum getting over-defensive. Of course this is an early read that is subject to change.

You asked me what I'd qualify as my vote and I responded. That said, it's all in the same vein of seeing as banter, while yours was empty, which seemed at least somewhat serious, if for nothing else than to prod. I jumped because I was new to the format, but I now see that it was all mostly hitting in the dark there. Also, I have no idea who Sentenza is.

That's acceptable. I did also ask you questions prior which you didn't answer and contextually I felt what I was asking for was clear, but maybe not. Given that we have a long way before end of day, and I was the first one to vote Kami (meaning if I truly wanted to lynch someone, I should have gone after a player with a vote on them already), I don't know how you came to conclusion that I intended to lynch someone. But I don't know if it's worth pressing this, because even if I find it an off jump, there's always the counterargument that you're in unfamiliar territory.

RE said this, too, but a naked vote in RVS sticks out to me like a sore thumb. I generally tend to see it as a "serious" vote (since if it wasn't, it would have some sort of RVS randomness attached). And RE confirmed that it was a somewhat serious vote.

I'm confused, Dan. The first time someone questioned his vote was you in 51, then Killma in 52...and then RE explained it in 53. I felt like his explanation made a lot of sense. I didn't think he was saying it was random; I thought he was saying you were attacking him because you thought it was random. Your attack here feels off.

I do think it's unlikely to be a S/S relationship based off those interactions, and I think Killma is town, therefore T/S.
I also interpreted your 101 reference as a dichotomy, and it felt like you were intentionally subverting Tom's thoughts (he thought Killma was scum and RE town, while you voted RE) while saying you agreed with Tom. Why are you resorting to misdirection in your rhetoric?
I really don't like Worst's 71, 77, 79, and 80. He awards RE town points for answering a question directed at someone else, then sides with RE and votes the player he and RE have in common in scumspects (Mikey), even though RE had already clarified in 70 that he (RE) wasn't actually answering the question asked to Mikey. 71 has an identical time stamp to 70, so that one might just be Worst missing it, but 77, 79, and 80 smack of someone who's not really invested in the game enough to read.
@Vezok: Your 127 seemed fine up until the last line, which sounded like you were saying "how does Mikey know I'm scum?". Like, I don't hear any town indignation there, nor any town laissez-faire. Why no confidence in your towniness?
@Manasi: I accept that as a valid plan of attack.
Right now Mikey and RE are feeling town, and I like that Kami is pushing for responses.
On the other end of the spectrum, Dan is making...odd choices and The Worst feels disconnected in a devil-may-care kind of way. And I want to hear more from Vezok.

D1: 15s, since it goes directly to night
Night: 30s

Discussion: 45s
Voting: 30s
(From this point onward, only applies if there's lynching from the Voting stage)
Defense: 20s

I do think it's unlikely to be a S/S relationship based off those interactions, and I think Killma is town, therefore T/S.

@Vez Nothing else to say?
(Also Sentenza is in a league of her own.)
Ganderin has a similar playstyle as town or scum and I need more before I can make a definite decision, but for now he looks townish.
I kinda want to hear more from other people regarding RE's argument.
Also wouldn't mind hearing why mikey considers me scum/

That is the exact opposite of my reaction. Why do you think this is town?
Again, why?
Do you have an opinion on what I'm arguing with regards to Kill?
You asked me what I'd qualify as my vote and I responded. That said, it's all in the same vein of seeing as banter, while yours was empty, which seemed at least somewhat serious, if for nothing else than to prod. I jumped because I was new to the format, but I now see that it was all mostly hitting in the dark there. Also, I have no idea who Sentenza is.
unvote
LESS MISLYNCHES IF WE START AT THE OTHER END OF THE CHAIN.
VOTE: DAN
Vote: vezok
I can't freaking do this on phone sorry guys
I'm perceiving a bunch of self restraint from his posts
And stuff
If this was meant for me (see above), I'm blushing from all the fawning attention I'm getting from everyone. I'm flattered that everyone wants to be my date toNight, but I've got games of my own to play, too, so...yes? I guess? But I also sorta said I'd go to the ball with Mikey, and then Dan asked me to play a game with him, so I'm feeling kinda like Archie to your Veronica and Mikey's Betty and Dan's...Cheryl Blossom? If there's gonna be a fight over me, I'd rather just chill with Jughead, ya know?
Thanks.
No.
Mikey is near the top of my town list right now (and was already up there when you posted this), so I gotta ask: what are you seeing there?
...what's your mafia experience, Kill? (Small aside, I shall not be getting naked with you.)
Oh, you were asked that. But you didn't really answer. How many games have you played? Do you consider yourself experienced?
What's the standard day/night phase length on ToS?
RE said this, too, but a naked vote in RVS sticks out to me like a sore thumb. I generally tend to see it as a "serious" vote (since if it wasn't, it would have some sort of RVS randomness attached). And RE confirmed that it was a somewhat serious vote.
I'm confused, Dan. The first time someone questioned his vote was you in 51, then Killma in 52...and then RE explained it in 53. I felt like his explanation made a lot of sense. I didn't think he was saying it was random; I thought he was saying you were attacking him because you thought it was random. Your attack here feels off.
For now, I'm going to Unvote.
I thought so. It's a somewhat different format. I'd recommend a game or two. Consider it a date.
D1: 15s, since it goes directly to night
Night: 30s
(Everything else is Day)
Discussion: 45s
Voting: 30s
(From this point onward, only applies if there's lynching from the Voting stage)
Defense: 20s
Judgement: 20s
Last words: 5s
And then it repeats from the Night. You can imagine it's much more fast-paced.
WHY NO DAN VOTES?
ok but why loudly declare it as scum
I'm getting the vibe it's not abnormal for Tom to be pretty outlandish in his posting by reactions here? Let me know if this is an unfair call but it's s pretty easy wolf gimmick for a wolf to try to do something that would make people go "l0l0l why would a wolf be so weird l0l"
and I kinda feel like its pretty natural for that to occur to someone when they're trying to read a player hard gimmicking
so town!Tom why exactly?
this is either towny or s/s with dan
I haven't decided yet
RE read is :ok_hand:
Why us 3?
got bored reading cantrip's post, can someone check for me if it's total shameless busywork or if there's a grain of shiny shiny nuance I'm missing?
I like my vote where it is for nowwww
The only reason this is not a vote on you is because I'm already voting for you.
You can't wish-wash a read by saying I'm "reserved". Is that in relation to my meta? Is that just game specific? Elaborate on your read because right now I just think you are scum.

Maybe later.
...your first and last sentences don't seem to jive. Clarify, pls.
Get used to it, buster. This is how I play mafia. You want to figure me out? Gonna have to do some reading.
@Kill: You didn't really answer my first question. How many games have you played?
And is the "s" abbreviation for "seconds"? Have you played any games with longer deadlines (like 72 hour days/24 hour nights)?
@Vezok: Why you no respond to my question?

No, Im just an ordinary user, nothing super about me...
Hi all, sorry i missed most of RVS, for some reason my notifications are not sending to my email address.
Ive played with very few of you in the past, i guess the best thing I can do right now is place a vote based on annoying gameplay until something sticks out
Vote Tomsloger
Oh, you wanted numbers? Answer is 237 games, over the time of a few years.
And yes, "s" stands for seconds. I have not played any longer games.
I realize I sometimes have that affect on people
Why cant he tunnel both?
