With the completion of Zero Escape and Arkham Horror and the indefinite delay to Into Oblivion, it is time to open submissions for the next round of Specialty games.
Anyone interested in hosting a Specialty-level game should sign up in this very thread and public discussion is encouraged. These games will be judged by the FTQ committee (the council + some past FTQ winners) with the winning three going forward to being the next Specialty games played - with the first slated to run once the Team Mafia finishes.
Rules
Each entrant must sign up in this thread, proving some key information about their game:
Game Name
Host(s)
Reviewer(s)
Current stage of development
Number of Players
Deadline Lengths
A technical overview of the game (Central mechanics, Complexity, aims, etc.)
A flavour overview
Each Entrant should use only one post per submission, and should keep it updated
One person may submit multiple entries at one post each. A person cannot, however, win multiple times.
You may submit unfinished games, but they must at least have passed one review by the close of signups to be eligible for judging. The more finished the better.
Close of signups will be in one month, followed by a shot judging period.
“What was it like when you were in college grandpa?”
Debauchery. Foolishness. We did things we shouldn’t have back then. Your grandfather was involved with a crowd that he shouldn’t have been. I’ve told your momma these things as she grew up...probably why she was so careful with you while she raised you. Sex, drugs, rock n roll. That’s not just a turn of phrase. When you’re young and have nothing to lose, nothing to gain, you lose your inhibitions. It was hard to do any learnin’ when you spent are you’re time surrounded by a seedy underbelly. And none were seedier than my next door neighbor. Let me tell you about the time I wound up next door for his birthday.....

A Game of Thrones Mafia

When you play the game of thrones, you either win or you die.
A Game of Thrones Mafia is set in Westeros, a medieval world that incorporates fantasy elements such as dragons and magic. You will play one of the main characters of the world as depicted by both the books at the TV series.
One of the primary focuses of the game will be the Iron Throne; only a single player may sit the throne at a time, but it can change control as the game progresses. The King/Queen or Regent that sits the throne will possess an additional ability (tentatively a double vote).
The major feature of this game, however, will not be the throne. Each player will be part of not only a faction (Mafia/Town/Neutral) but will also be a part of an ingame house or faction that has an alternate wincon that can be achieved in spite of or alongside your main factional win. You will know the members of your secondary faction, and share a night chat with them. You will not know their alignment, and flavor will be functionally random between the factions.

The early tinges of sun begin to kiss the darkened night sky over the small town of Salem, Massachussetts. As the light begins to creep toward the town, the creak of rusty hinges can be heard from a wooden sign, hanging loosely by a single hinge from a splintered post on the side of the road.
“Welcome to Salem, Massachussetts,” the sign says. A mere matter of weeks ago, below these words, a population tally of 770 could be seen. Now, the 77 has been riddled with so many bullets that it is all but invisible.
Creak. Creak.
As the light continues to creep in, the sharp reflection off the moist, soaked ground of the well-maintained main street could blind a man, if he looked twice. I’m sure right now, dear audience, that you’re wondering if it has rained the last night, but no. No, Salem is not that fortunate. The wetness is the crimson life-force of the residents of this unfortunate town, seeping down, back into the earth from whence it came.
The sun’s rays continue, unconcerned with the mangled corpses, cut, shot, broken, strewn about the road like rag-dolls.
Creak. Creak.
This creaking, it must be the doors smashed, their glass broken, waving idly in the cool wind, you think. But no.
In the centre of town, where once a bustling marketplace existed, human bodies swing back and forth, rope digging into the lifeless flesh of their necks, eyes vacantly staring, wide with the terror of their last moments.
In the very middle of the town centre, a large stone statue, chipped from a myriad of bullets and coated with the lifeblood of Salem stands, a confident grin forever frozen on its handsome face, as the First Mayor of Salem silently stands witness to the carnage, discarded bullet-casings everywhere.
"But," you ask, “what happened? WHO DID THIS?!?”
Well, to tell this story, dear readers, we will have to return to the beginning. To where a bitter vendetta between two men, the death of a mayor, and the struggle of a Salem family for survival began. To where one group’s vendetta forced an entire town to fight for Salem’s fate.
Host – Wuffles_II (open to co-host) Current Reviewer – D_V Current Stage of development – All roles drafted, currently balancing. The aim of this game is to give players the ultimate mafia power-trip. Powerful roles are abundant and unlimited, but will shift between players during the game. The team that can adapt and use whatever tools they have at their disposal at any given moment will triumph. Flexibility is key, and behavioural analysis essential.
This game’s flavour centres around three central themes – A bitter vendetta between two men causing a mayor's murder that inspired a bloodbath in this small Town.
A Salem family’s struggle for survival.
The winds of fate, whirling through Salem’s very soul, inspiring people to acts they never thought themselves capable of.
Many of the roles in the game have been crafted to be as true to the Town of Salem Mafia game as possible.

Get ready for a mafia experience based on the highly stylized and critically acclaimed rpg for the DS, The World Ends With You. Explore the setting of Shibuya, the consumerist heart of Tokyo, where shopping is life and trends reign supreme. This game features shopping and location-based mechanics that include currying favor with shopkeepers and obtaining items to power yourself up. However, the mechanics have also been designed to not interfere too overtly with the classic scumhunting gameplay you know and love.
Items
The World Ends With You takes place in Shibuya, the shopping center of Tokyo, so this game reflects what Shibuya is all about - material goods. If you want to win, you gotta to play around items, which grant abilities and give this game its style.
Items are either given from the start or bought during Nighttime. Players also start out with three Item Slots, and are unable to get any new items if they’re all filled.
Shopping
In this game, players can go out to visit their favorite locales and partake in Shibuya’s favorite pastime - shopping ‘till you drop.
Each Night, instead of taking an action, you can hit the town instead. We have three exquisite locations that cover all your needs: Shibu Dept. Store - Your one-stop hot spot for all your fashion needs. Buying Threads from this location bestows passive abilities, so you can keep em forever (or at least until they go out of style)
104 Building - There’s a new type of accessory taking Shibuya by storm, and 104’s got all your favorite brands covered. Express your individuality with Pins, which are also said to below X-shot abilities to members of the UG.
Ramen Don - Take a break from the nightlife and grab a quick bite to eat. Buying Food grants 1-shot abilities that won’t break the bank.
Players who visit a location have the ability to view the items for sale and purchase up to one item for themselves. All transactions will be processed during the next phase change. In the event that two or more eager shoppers want to buy the same items, there is a system in place to break the tie (which we won’t tell you about).
Money
You can’t spend without a source of income, right ? In addition to starting cash, each player will receive ¥1000 for each unused item slot they have each Night.
Favor
After making a purchase from one of our locations, players will earn one favor point with that shop. Each favor point gives a ¥500 discount on any item you buy there in the future (it always pays to flirt with shopkeepers). Additionally, some special items may only be visible to customers with high favor levels.
Alrighty, after deliberations with the FTQ committee, we have narrowed the pool of candidates down to our three winners. In no particular order they are:
Ganderin Dan - DoTA 2 Mafia TheRealStinkyJoeTerry - Knights of the Old Republic Mafia Atogaholic - The World Ends With You Mafia
Congratulations to them, and thanks and commiserations to everyone else - it was a tough field this time, and sadly all the games couldn't win. Those who didn't win can either polish their game up for next time, or try and massage them into Normals or Minis because those queues are pretty dry at the moment.
Guys, I'm really super sorry about this, especially to Shadow and Osi that were helping me review, but with my new life situation and personal family matters, I'm not going to be able to run my Knights of the Old Republic game. I haven't had time to polish all the role PMs and do the final balance, but the bones were there. What wasn't there was my time at a computer. Most of my time at work now is away from the computer and my dad is going through a lot of physical issues right now and needs my attention. I'm working out of town, away from my wife and kids 4 days a week, and all my time at home with them is dedicated to them. I really didn't want to drop the ball like this, which is why I lagged so hard in admitting to myself and then to you guys that I am simple not able to participate here at the moment. Hopefully in the future I can come back and play some games with you guys. Thanks for showing your support for this game and I'm really sorry I let you guys down.

It's all good, man. Life comes first. I hope your situation gets better.
Best wishes Terry. We'll be excited to see you back here when circumstances allow and hope that's not too far in the future for your sake. Take care of yourself!
