I honestly fail to see how voting a zero poster gets us out of RVS? If he's town, it doesn't accomplish much. If he's scum, well, we'd be flipping a coin, so it's still fairly "random", no?
Is it within Marko's meta to just not post as scum as opposed to town? Or is everyone else varying degrees of townie/neutral that a zero poster would a preferable place to vote? Plz educate me
at least for myself i just picked marko since I'm townreading Empoof and I didn't really feel that strongly about Vox!scum. I think Titus is still right that the wagon would help us get out of RVS even if the lynch itself would be "random", seeing who decides to vote with whom and why is valuable data (since now there's kind of an established connection between Empoof and myself, and Titus to a lesser extent) and people are kind of obligated to talk about the leading/dueling wagon.
also i realized i should probably multiquote lmfao
~~
@osie
talk to me about what you like about grapefruit's push?
also im not really sure what level of nuance you'd like out of page 3 posting...? lack of reasoning and opportunism seems like a really shallow way to view my posting lmfaooo
i do find some of the things you're listing as scummy as questionable in merit though, like i dont really think anything titus has done that you've listed is really that scummy for her? (her logic is kind of confusing for someone who's never played with her for example) as an example.
fwiw i'll try to write more coherently lmfao
~~
significantly like vox more, i feel like after being called out for a bad post/reasoning to scumread ara that was probably the towniest way to double down on the whole thing. sure he could have said "no it was a meme like you said i was totally trying to catch scum with it" and not really do anything with it, but the fact he made it an afterthought rather than like. the only part of ara he acknowledged I think points to it being a real thought process. Scum!him probably picks someone else as a push here.
I really feel like I could explain this better so if someone wants that I can do that but I'm trying to not make this obnoxiously long

{RE, Scarlet, Foop} - Town
{Grapefruit, Titus, Vox} - Leantown
{Markoj} - Empty slot
{Tubba/Ara/Osie} - Would vote in

Their pushes don't really feel real to me, #128 was mostly what got me to vote. like that legitimately felt like a really weird deconstruction of what vox was pushing which feels pretty clear to me
i feel like i have too few scumleans so there's very likely something I'm missing. Not entirely happy with my reads so hopefully today's Meditation Session and Chakra Blitzing leads to something relevant that i've overlooked. some discussion wrt to empoof would be radical as well
I'm currently gut reading ScarletCelestial as scum.
The imbalance between questions and comments on the game feels bad. There's enough in the game right now to comment on. And her questions directed at Tammy feel unwarranted (I don't see how they'd help figure out Tammy's alignment).

When the point of no return appears, it is already behind you.
Thank you osie that’s sweet! I read your reads list but I’m mostly in somewhat observational mode at the moment so I don’t have anything to comment on right this second.
You are always an enigma to me. You hate drawing scum, yet scum is just providing people what they want rather than hunting scum. As town, you're quite warm and affiable while scumhunting. Yet, I fail to see how a "nice wall" moves the game forward. I also feel like we're dancing around each other.
What do you think of the competing wagons? Do you feel I joinex a scum driven wagon? Do you feel both wagons are on scum? Unsure?
First I’ll say I don’t care about the wagons. Wagons this early in the day when I have barely a lean on most of the game mean nothing to me. I am not, have never been, a wagon based player. After some reads, after some flips, maybe I’ll look at wagon progression if I’m feeling lost or need completeness, but right now it’s meaningless to me.
We don’t have to be dancing around each other, I reached out to you in my first post. You ignored it. I wondered if your first post about me was intended to try to start an argument or discredit me because I thought that you might have realized that trying to tilt me or discredit me was more effectual than trying to work with me as scum. You’ve not had a hard time reading me as town before, sure you’ve gotten paranoid and had your doubts at times, but I’ve not been a universal scum read for you so that read off. You even bringing up ‘nice walls’ not moving the game forward feels in that vein.
If I’m affable even when scumhunting, it’s just because I rarely forget there are real people with real feelings behind these handles and some people are tough and others aren’t, and quite frankly I don’t know anything and try not to lose sight of that fact. I think I do just fine most of the time moving the game forward, and I think you know that. I get toxic and pissed sometimes, sure, but I don’t set out to make anyone feel bad. I’ll go ahead and accept that’s a weakness in my play, but it’s just who I am.
I hate drawing scum because it’s emotionally taxing for me in a way that drains me, and it’s just no fun.
I’m not going to fight with you. If you’re town and you want to work with me, I’m more than happy to, but I will ignore most things that have to do with me being scum because it’s wrong and I don’t want to fight, and I won’t respond to things that feel like baiting or try to force a conversation because I don’t want to fight. It’s neither productive for the game or my sanity.
I honestly don't want to fight either. I either a) missed your reach out post or b) was totally oblivious to it being a reachout. Considering I have little confidence in my read of you, a direct fight does nothing for me either. Regardless of your alignment, you talking reads rather than fighting me helps me sort you and the rest if the game. I just wanted to not be ignored either.
I'll admit dealing with emotions and real people is much harder when I am town because I have to look more at WHY someone feels the way they do, rather than plugging the thought away and capitalizing. You and I play as polar opposites. I feel more guilt and pressure as town than I do scum. Scum, to me is a play that people ask for. I feel zero shame in lying up to the point where players no longer enjoy the show. As town, I feel guilty having to read and disrupt processes in order to get my own reads and trying to get what I feel is the correct answer listened to. I hope maybe, in the rare games I get the pleasure of playing with you, that you never feel guilty lying to me regardless of your alignment but instead for those brief moments suppose I enjoy it. In a wierd way, it will help me IRL as I deal with well-meaning liars offline. So *distant hug*?
Can I get your individual thoughts on Vox, RE, Trob and Fog? [I am basically rephrasing my question from before in a manner that us easier to answer I hope.]
? empoof doesn't really seem that over the top to me, walk me through why you feel that way?
honestly im not really vibing with the scumreads on him at all though and that wagon's bigger than i thought
He's joked a couple times that he's scum. A couple of his reads make zero sense and at this point I can only assume they're joke reads. He welcomed the scumread I have on him. It's pretty over the top.
(the wagon is at 2 votes I think, after Vox moved on to Ara)
i guess, i usually tend to read that as being chill but that seems fair
i dont really think any of that is scummy though? like i think most people would be taking that in jest or at least seeing if he's using to gauge reactions (i'm leaning more the former since when he is scumhunting it seems a bit more obvious here but i'm not a psychic. i just have a very potent third eye)
also i spent 20 minutes on that post lmfoa i hate catching up twice
And I definitely like her response to Vox's answer to her question regarding my entrance. I was fine with Vox' reply, but she brought up a point I didn't consider earlier.
Why do you think this point makes her Townie? (Besides providing a different angle of view?)
It's the different point of view I liked, or rather than she didn't just dismiss my entrance as NAI. She went one step further by considering my experience as a factor.
I said this lol, how did it get attributed to Celestial?
I'm bad at splitting quotes, lol.
Also, I really like RE's reply due to how they themselves are trying to figure out what the mindset of Tammy so early on, which speaks toward this being RE's Town game.

Have you played with her before? Her scumhunting style is kind of awkward and confusing the first time you play with her, especially when she's town ("scum is giving people what they want" rings VERY true in her playstyle, as town she's known as the moon queen to the point where her seeming logical is a scumtell. i wouldn't say that's accurate entirely but there are people who stand by that)
Lean or streaky? If you boil it you get scumread right here and now.
First impressions on the first few pages are RE, Tammy and maybe Trob as Town. I've got a bad feeling about osie.
I don't really eat too much bacon, but when I do cook it I microwave it *backs away slowly* or cook it in the oven.
Fair warning that I'm probably going to have a hard time scum reading Osie. Last game we played Osie was scum read by almost everyone, and I had him as a town read and should have defended him more than I did, and then I replaced out.

That's fair. I think it's scummy though because I don't see how it benefits town to give falsified reads on certain players. Or make no attempt to ward off the scumread from a player believed to be town, because that means their vote and effort is wasted.

When the point of no return appears, it is already behind you.
Considering 138, @Tammy I have a few questions for you based on it.
How are you reading what's been made by Titus thus far? Since you don't seem to like what they've been doing.
Based on your third paragraph, may I ask if you think you're an aggressive player?
Why won't you like to respond to anything about your possibility of being scum?
I'm in wait and see mode on Titus. I don't particularly like what they've said about me because it doesn't quite gel with our past experience.
No, I'm not an aggressive player unless I need to be, the game is going in a direction I don't like and I need to take over and lead, or there are no town leaders in the game and I need to step up, or I have a scum read I believe in. I think I'm an assertive but waffly player; I don't think I'm that aggressive as a matter of course.
I imagine I'll respond to anyone else, but I won't respond to titus calling me scum. I don't really like being called scum when I'm town and it can get a bit explosive between me and Titus. It's not productive, the game will suffer, and I'm most likely to end up replacing out which would suck on all accounts. I think the best approach is to take a bit of reasoned detachment where that is concerned. If that makes sense.
Doesn't gel? How so?
Would you consider yourself a bit superfluous then? Also, it seems to me that you become aggressive in many situations (going by both the amount of situations you have described as well as certain sources of whom talked about it), so could be considered thus... also: do you tend to tunnel on people often or do you try to engage with many people without doing that?
But shouldn't you be trying to address Titus' concerns? I mean, if you don't then it's likely they'd be tunnelling you for quite a long time I believe, based on what I've seen of their own play. Also, wouldn't it be a good opportunity to try and converse with them? If not you alleged scuminess, then what do you think would be the best conversation you could have with them to determine their alignment?

I'm glad neither of us want to fight!
Heh distant hug accepted and returned. I feel guilt as town getting things wrong, which is why I spend so much times thinking things through and trying to balance everything. But as town these are my real thoughts and the game weighs on me differently than when I'm dealing with fake thoughts. I wish I enjoyed scum; people who enjoy it think it's absolute freedom.
Vox - Slightest lean town there based mostly on that post where he felt a bit indignant that he shouldn't be town read where he was. I've never seen his scum game, and I believe the only game we've played together was last year's champs game where we read each other as town decently early in the game? and worked together pretty well I thought. I believe I know one of the reasons why he's not going to be around right away, but I'm hoping I'll be able to solidify this read soon enough.
RE - Probably the only actual real town read I have right now.
Trob - I want to town read her and I've liked some of her posting. This won't be a read I'll have confidently this early.
I don't know who Fog is? Do you mean empoof? Pretty much the same as Trob.
Would you consider yourself a bit superfluous then? Why aren't images working properly?
Not gel - she's not universally scum read me in the past.
If by superfluous you mean am I awesome then, yes I am.
I've been known to drive through tunnels every now and then; I try to engage with the whole thread eventually.
I think your trying to draw water from a dry source in your third paragraph there. I think my original response was sufficient and I really don't need to go into more detail.

She can't yet. Gut is not an articulable thing she can talk about. I am not bothered by me being this way. Now, if it reaches d5 and Tammy is always against lynching scum, I would have specific questions. Gut reads are *****ty for this reason. They should get noted but pushing them means you can tell yourself something false because you want to be right.
Process is observe -> Test -> Conclude.
I'll discuss wagons 5 seconds in if they exist btw. I find relational reads more valuable than tone. But I feel a slight burden of proficiency coming from you. How good do you expect me to be?
OSIE LOL YOU MIGHT JUST BE SCUM
VOX'S READ ON ARA IS NOT AT ALL DIFFERENT FROM YOUR'S ON SCARLET
*clears throat*
Nah, I was more based on tone of posts; her posts feel low energy. His seemed to be based on high energy then not posting, which, while a disconnect, is mostly an activity-based argument.
And it's not an activity read, it's a mindset read - it's specifically making one post about how excited and hyped they are to play, and then not actually playing/participating in the discussion going on. If they were town and genuinely excited, I think they dig into the game there and actually engage/participate, rather than just dropping the one post and leaving.
If she hadn't posted at all she'd be straight null - there just feels like a disparity/disconnect between words and actions that is partially based on knowing Ara.
I suppose this is fair. I withdraw my concern somewhat.
I don't like Osie's read on Foopme nor his response to Vox's read on Ara... But it feels awkward enough for it to come from a town!Osie rather than a scum!Osie...
I also didn't see the contradiction in Scarlet Rage's read on Tammy. I read her enthusiasm as town, he read her enthusiasm as forced.
Concerning RE, I swear they have completely different goals as different alignments. As Town their questioning is much better and they sound much less like they're in commentary mode.
The phrasing of this is interesting. I mean, of course the goals are different, I want to kill town as scum, I want to kill scum as town.
How much of my scum meta are you familiar with? I don't think I've played as scum in any game with you before.
I want to say there's scum in Ara/Tubba/Osie/Marko. Otherwise it'd mean all the wolves are dominating the thread and I just find that a bit unlikely.
So because I took a while to join the thread due to IRL time constraints and playing in 4 games at once, I must be scum? Man, you really take Lynch all lurkers to an extreme...

I think you are being overly defensive? I didn't list you specifically as scum, but I think in that pool of players there is scum. It's an observation of the gamestate. If you didn't see my comment above, I actually found you slightly more townie than not.

@RE why does a generic start equate to scumminess? Disconnected from the thread feels reachy when Tubba posted before there was much to be connected to.
Oh yeah, it definitely is. Just in my experience it's more likely to come from scum.
What do you make of Tammy now? And of the votes on Marko.
vote: Foopme
She does seem enthused and reads like all of the buzzwords we toss around like natural, pure, or organic. I didn't see any content that rules her out from being scum but she feels right for now. No read but predisposed to good feelings.
As for Tubba I don't buy that at all. He made one post when you made that read and it was pure role play. This is a really reductive version of the read Voxx made on Ara (which I'm still not sure I'm comfortable with) but worse because his only post was 29 and didn't attempt to engage with the game at all. Just flavor gaming and checking out. If 3 days from now Tubba hasn't done anything I'd be comfortable starting to call him disengaged but this is way too early to have made that call and dropped a scum read for that.
I don't make anything of 2 votes on someone who hasn't posted yet.
@Osie 111 is so reachy in so many ways... I feel like you're forcing the early reads walls just to keep making reads walls. For example I haven't shared a read on Troba. But you're liking my read there? Or Troba; you throw the word opportunistic around on her but I can't point to a hard push she's made. Town reading FoopmeEmpoof and Tammy for being fluffy and relaxed feels dangerous. I know I just said Tammy reads well but not so well I'm happy to lock in a read. How familiar are you with those two before this game? 112-113 suggests you aren't but I'm curious.
@Voxx why so eager to make the Ara read? What if Ara comes back in a few hours and is engaged? I take it you know Ara well?
Liking SCelestials questions to Osie.
@Tammy so you dislike playing scum? Is it more dislike or struggling with it?
As for Tubba I don't buy that at all. He made one post when you made that read and it was pure role play. Then we agree to disagree, because I found what Vox pointed out wrt Ara was fair. I've been in an abundance of games where that's exactly how scum post. I see no issue in calling it out early. If I'm wrong, then it'd be quite obvious I'm wrong when Tubba starts to make game-related posts, and no harm is done. If I'm right, even better.

RE - How is posting her scumgame bizzare when in a number of games they have been scumread for their posting style? I reference my scum game for the convenienece of others too, simply because I have been told that I'm only ever really been Townread based on meta.
Where are you getting "in a number of games they have been scumread for their posting style"? This is actually blatantly false. You should know this considering you just modded a game where I was universally townread aside from a cop checked scum.
Not to mention, I've twice explained why I posted my scum game. In the same post where I linked my latest scum game (actually the only scum game I CAN link...), I explained that my scum and town games are night and day. I didn't post it because my town game is scummy, I posted it because it's the opposite, that I honestly cannot scum.
Why are you assuming Osie knows that I have been scumread in a number of games for my posting style? This isn't a question, it's an accusation. Similar to your questions towards Tammy, you're questioning people for not following a strict order of operations in how to hunt for scum.
Tammy - What did you mindmeld on?
Fair question.
Empoof - Why is Empoof calling himself scum pinging you? Personally, I wouldn't take much stock in it at this point and it sounds more of a joke.
Don't really understand what this question is supposed to accomplish? Feels the same way with her question of my read on Tammy when I basically gave her the same answer I provided earlier.
Grape - What about Grape's read on Trob specifically, that it is the same sort of read as yours or something about it's composition or tone?
How would the answer to this question give insight to Osie's alignment?
Scarlet - Why do you think I'm lacking in energy?
Fair question.
Titus - How is an RVS on a 0-poster an issue at this stage?
Did you not share similar thoughts to Osie's when you asked Titus why she's concerned about wagons? Also, I'm going to attribute this to not paying attention, but asking this feels off when it was clearly not an RVS vote as his vote was accompanied by a "Let's move on from RVS" or something like that.
Trob - Opportunistic how?
Fair question.
This is also why I feel her questions are artificial. They are definitely thoughtful but I can't imagine the answers being very helpful.
The questions that are fair actually require 0 effort to ask.

The questions that are fair actually require 0 effort to ask.
did I misread or did you say that as scum you were universally townread except for the cop check on you which outed you as scum?
If that's the case why do you think you can't scum?
But her posts are 90% questions, 5% background, and 5% actual reads...? (%s roughly estimated) Why are you relying on a tonal read when you've also stated that she has good tone as scum?
And um... I'm curious where else do you think posts can come from? The kokoro?
lots of my reads come from my nards and gut. Some from my head, some from the shower
I just liked scarlet, something about the way they talked about their scumgame felt third person. As I’m writing this I think I gave this read in a recent scum game which is lol but just shows it can be true!
The only ride or die read I have is Tammy, would say the rest are fluff at best*

Oh no, I was town in that game. Recently ended. I mean the only player who threw shade in my direction was mafia who had been cop checked the night before.
It's not to say I've never been scumread for my posting style, but I think there was a misuse of that information to shade Osie especially since that's not why I posted the game.

Fair point. After rereading her ISO, I'm left with a similar impression. Doesn't outweigh what I saw afterwards but I see what you mean.

@RE I'll reply to your big post after work when I have time to format. Don't have the energy to do it right now.
@Tammy you talked about it being mentally draining for you and people seemed to be clearing you on the energy and enthusiasm you're showing early. Do you agree with the people town reading you that this level of engagement from you should be clearing? I don't know your meta at all and understand the town leans but have a hard time grasping people meta clearing someone who is a good scum player off this. I get that this isn't really helpful for solving you but I want to know if these reads are TMI'ing.

You should ask me about bacon!
Nevermind found it.
Lean or streaky? If you boil it you get scumread right here and now.
First impressions on the first few pages are RE, Tammy and maybe Trob as Town. I've got a bad feeling about osie.
at least for myself i just picked marko since I'm townreading Empoof and I didn't really feel that strongly about Vox!scum.
~~
@osie
talk to me about what you like about grapefruit's push?
also im not really sure what level of nuance you'd like out of page 3 posting...? lack of reasoning and opportunism seems like a really shallow way to view my posting lmfaooo
i do find some of the things you're listing as scummy as questionable in merit though, like i dont really think anything titus has done that you've listed is really that scummy for her? (her logic is kind of confusing for someone who's never played with her for example) as an example.
fwiw i'll try to write more coherently lmfao
~~
significantly like vox more, i feel like after being called out for a bad post/reasoning to scumread ara that was probably the towniest way to double down on the whole thing. sure he could have said "no it was a meme like you said i was totally trying to catch scum with it" and not really do anything with it, but the fact he made it an afterthought rather than like. the only part of ara he acknowledged I think points to it being a real thought process. Scum!him probably picks someone else as a push here.
I really feel like I could explain this better so if someone wants that I can do that but I'm trying to not make this obnoxiously long

readlist
{Tammy} - Strong town
{RE, Scarlet, Foop} - Town
{Grapefruit, Titus, Vox} - Leantown
{Markoj} - Empty slot
{Tubba/Ara/Osie} - Would vote in
Vote: Osieorb18
Their pushes don't really feel real to me, #128 was mostly what got me to vote. like that legitimately felt like a really weird deconstruction of what vox was pushing which feels pretty clear to me
i feel like i have too few scumleans so there's very likely something I'm missing. Not entirely happy with my reads so hopefully today's Meditation Session and Chakra Blitzing leads to something relevant that i've overlooked. some discussion wrt to empoof would be radical as well
The imbalance between questions and comments on the game feels bad. There's enough in the game right now to comment on. And her questions directed at Tammy feel unwarranted (I don't see how they'd help figure out Tammy's alignment).
[I am basically rephrasing my question from before in a manner that us easier to answer I hope.]
i guess, i usually tend to read that as being chill but that seems fair
i dont really think any of that is scummy though? like i think most people would be taking that in jest or at least seeing if he's using to gauge reactions (i'm leaning more the former since when he is scumhunting it seems a bit more obvious here but i'm not a psychic. i just have a very potent third eye)
also i spent 20 minutes on that post lmfoa i hate catching up twice
Also, I really like RE's reply due to how they themselves are trying to figure out what the mindset of Tammy so early on, which speaks toward this being RE's Town game.
Have you played with her before? Her scumhunting style is kind of awkward and confusing the first time you play with her, especially when she's town ("scum is giving people what they want" rings VERY true in her playstyle, as town she's known as the moon queen to the point where her seeming logical is a scumtell. i wouldn't say that's accurate entirely but there are people who stand by that)
I don't really eat too much bacon, but when I do cook it I microwave it *backs away slowly* or cook it in the oven.
Fair warning that I'm probably going to have a hard time scum reading Osie. Last game we played Osie was scum read by almost everyone, and I had him as a town read and should have defended him more than I did, and then I replaced out.
I think frankly one of you two got your scarlet's mixed up.
That's fair. I think it's scummy though because I don't see how it benefits town to give falsified reads on certain players. Or make no attempt to ward off the scumread from a player believed to be town, because that means their vote and effort is wasted.
hey *I* like your scumhunting
Oh, I've played plenty with her before (same homesite). Usually I have more of an urge to defend her when she's town.
It's even less so meta and more so her questions feel artificial. We'll see.
If not you alleged scuminess, then what do you think would be the best conversation you could have with them to determine their alignment?
holy ***** i just realized what happened LMFOAhpafs;jskdfas;dkjfakjlfdsa;j
im gonna take a break and just reread this page i'm way too much of an airhead
But thank you for the therapy sessions, what did you get out of your questions?
She can't yet. Gut is not an articulable thing she can talk about. I am not bothered by me being this way. Now, if it reaches d5 and Tammy is always against lynching scum, I would have specific questions. Gut reads are *****ty for this reason. They should get noted but pushing them means you can tell yourself something false because you want to be right.
Process is observe -> Test -> Conclude.
I'll discuss wagons 5 seconds in if they exist btw. I find relational reads more valuable than tone. But I feel a slight burden of proficiency coming from you. How good do you expect me to be?
ACTIVITY +1+1+1
ScarletCelestial reading pure. TitusCeledtial sort of too but a lot less, like a different part of my gut but still my gut
Osi is smart
Back to work
You still haven't answered my question regarding my scum meta? Minor thing but a response would be nice.
Define "pure" for me, considering earlier you said she has incredibly good tone as scum.
Infraction issued for image leeching. --CavalryWolfPack
Nah, I was more based on tone of posts; her posts feel low energy. His seemed to be based on high energy then not posting, which, while a disconnect, is mostly an activity-based argument.
I suppose this is fair. I withdraw my concern somewhat.
Then we agree to disagree, because I found what Vox pointed out wrt Ara was fair. I've been in an abundance of games where that's exactly how scum post. I see no issue in calling it out early. If I'm wrong, then it'd be quite obvious I'm wrong when Tubba starts to make game-related posts, and no harm is done. If I'm right, even better.
For the record I don't think Tubba and Ara's first posts have much in common at all.
These are my thoughts:
Not to mention, I've twice explained why I posted my scum game. In the same post where I linked my latest scum game (actually the only scum game I CAN link...), I explained that my scum and town games are night and day. I don't mean to sound obtuse, but what are you referring to when you ask if I struggle with it?
I feel like I could end up getting very rambly about my scumgame and not actually answer what you're asking.
Curious. What do you make of my other reads?
But her posts are 90% questions, 5% background, and 5% actual reads...? (%s roughly estimated) Why are you relying on a tonal read when you've also stated that she has good tone as scum?

Would you dance to “It’s not Unusual” by Tom Jones in your living room by yourself?
Do you think we’re on a good track in the game, likely to lunch scum day 1 or at least have one in a competing wagon?
If you had an extra months rent that you had to spend what would you buy?
Right now I'm most interested in seeing markoraj and arapocalypse post for a couple reasons.
