Each game has two town players and one mafia player.
Roles have been distributed completely randomly, so the alignments of one game have no bearing on any other.
There is no flavour or character names.
Play consists of one Day phase with a standard majority (2) lynch.
Town wins if they lynch the mafia. The mafia wins if they don't.
When a faction in a game wins, each team whose player in that game is a part of that faction gains a point.
The team with the most points at the end of the three games wins. Ties will not be broken.
Day will last for seven real life days.
If the deadline hits without a lynch ocurring, all teams receive a loss for that game.
No funny business, like deliberately making an invalild vote (e.g. breaking bold tags or mispelling names).
Teams may talk freely and discuss all three games within their designated QTs or MTGS PMs. Please do not use other channels since the content of team's chats is valuable data.
You may NOT directly quote messages from your QT into a game thread - so other players cannot write your posts for you.
Feedback is encouraged at any point. The more we have, the better the full version of the competition will be!
Role PMs are going out now. Everyone please confirm by PM. The games will start once everyone has confirmed.
Rules Update: Following MafiaScum's lead, teams are forbidden from suggesting (implicitly or excplitly) that any member of their team might not be town. This means you cannot, for example, claim that your team recevied any scum role PMs.
Well I was hoping bur would post first and we could either confirm him as town or know that he’s scum and he wins, a gamble I was willing to take.
Bur, I implore you to think really hard about WG’s response here. I didn’t plan on his post revealing his alignment should he post first, but to me in a vacuum that post is more indicative of scum mindset than town.

Additionally, after more thought, your post is so gd contrived. This is exactly the type of gambit I’d run as either alignment, especially when I’m allowed to run it by freaking Azrael first. And you know that fam. The gambit isn’t indicative of my alignment. It’s indicative of yours and burs. I’m a genius.

The Azrael/KJ/Kpaca team is called "Feral Octegenarians".
I have been asked about mentioning the other games, so I'm again going to defer to MafiaScum:
1. There are no restrictions for what players can post in their QT's outside of not breaking site rules. The rules for this section refer to what players can talk about in their ongoing games.
2. Players are only allowed to talk about mod-confirmed things from other ongoing Team Mafia games.
EXAMPLES OF THINGS THAT ARE ALLOWED
Stating who is on what team (NOT faction).
Stating what Day or Night another game is in.
Stating how many players are left alive on a team (NOT faction).
Stating how many town or scum are alive in another game.
Stating whether a dead player in another game has flipped town or scum.
3. Any public speculation about other ongoing games is prohibited.
4. Any attempt to publically signal players from other ongoing games, pass messages to players from other games, or otherwise communicate through the use of cryptography is prohibited.
5. Do not try to loophole these rules. If anyone has questions at any point about what is allowed or not allowed please message me.
So basically you may comment on public, mod confirmed information in the other games but you may not attempt to communicate with another game or publically influence it.
No, I don't think Az signs off on a gambit where you can lose on a coin flip. I think Az would only sign off on this if you were scum, since then all it does is consolidate your efforts onto one person which is probably good strategy in the first place. It turns it into your ability to convince Bur vs. mine, which is pretty good odds when you're scum and I'm town.
By counter voting me WG was not advancing a town agenda nor was he showing town mindset. He has outed himself. A more appropriate response would have been something like “what are you doing!”

Ask yourself this, if I’m scum why would I want to confirm town one of the players. How does that benefit me? The answer is it wouldn’t. If im scum in a three person game I need to be able to have both Lynch options open.

Let's take this from the top and imagine you are town. From your statements, it seems pretty clear that you did not think I was scum when you first voted me, which makes it a coinflip:
1. Either I was scum, or Bur was scum. If Bur was scum, game ends, you lose. If I was scum, the game continues.
2. If I'm scum, Bur now has to agree with you that I'm scum for you to win.
Overall it has such a low success chance. I don't see you, especially with the blessing of Az, going through with a gambit that only wins in such a narrow circumstance. It would be Naka levels of ******* over your own team. You are not that bad at mafia, and Az is even less bad.

If you're scum, you only have to convince one person to vote the other. There's really not that much to lose here. If I had the "what are you doing!" response you hoped for before Bur posted, you wouldn't even lose the avenue, and you gain basis to convince me against Bur. If Bur posted first, you get cred for "confirming" a player and gain a reason to sound genuine in your push against me.
Unlike the case where you are town, voting me if you're scum doesn't even hurt you. The only downside is that it's an anti-town action as I described above but that just ends up in WIFOM anyway so doesn't really detract from the benefits.
I feel like mafia is generally a coin flip at best. This was literally a coin flip so I couldn’t see better odds as far as this game specifically. And then overall team wise, I really have a lot of confidence in both az and killjoy winning their games. Moreso than I trust my rusty self to win mine. If I lose this one, I think they win. If I clear you as town, you vote WG, and we win- then I’ve given them an extra cushion.
Just seemed a solid play.

It means i can not speak to az’s opinion of my play, and that I simply meant in my remarks that one should analyze that this is a team game, and I’m on Az’s team.

Good news is that tomorrow marks a start of the national holiday here, so I can actually try to play this game.
I tried to reread the game already and came to realise the same that I've known deep inside for a long time: you just can't read kpaca, no matter how hard you try.
So, I guess tomorrow I'll decide what to do based on my opinion on Wheat and ignore kpaca completely.

Role PMs are going out now. Everyone please confirm by PM. The games will start once everyone has confirmed.
Everyone has confirmed, all games are live now.
Deadline is 2100 GMT on Saturday 23rd June.
Wheat, R U skum?
I'm here now but this time I won't be turned gay for you.
But if I ask nicely and show you some ankle?
You sadden me.
Also, you didn't answer my question to you in #3 and that depresses me even more.
I don't think you'd be this quick to vote if you were town. As scum, I could definitely see you trying since you're kpaca.
More to the point, either Bur's already won or you are scum.
It's up to you now, Bur. I'll even answer your question: I'm not scum.
Bur, I implore you to think really hard about WG’s response here. I didn’t plan on his post revealing his alignment should he post first, but to me in a vacuum that post is more indicative of scum mindset than town.
*sigh*
(This is me not hammering btw)

Blah, adult duties.
@kpaca: Why did you feel like you needed to ask Az's permission to vote in this game?
If I were scum, this whole game could've already ended in town loss.
Just seemed a solid play.
Also I think you know the answer to your question regardless.
Fair. (I didn't think so, and if it's not, it shouldn't be, but that's feedback for after the game).
What does that even mean
I thought I did too but now I'm not so sure.

We don't have much time left
I guess I'm going to reread you both now once more.
Alea iacta est.
I'm going to save alignment reveals for when all games have finished for maximum tension.
DO NOT post in this thread any more, this game is over.
Players may still communicate privately with their team members and discuss the still active game
