Yeah that slip is my biggest concern. That and KJ just straight up not interacting with me at all. Those both have me freaking out, but it doesn't outweigh the fact that I think KJ is the cop and him derailing his partner's push by "cop checking" me doesn't make any sense at all.
Vezo, was a sinking ship anyway. What better way to get town cred then clearing the person your scum buddy is pushing when you're going to bus anyway?
But the coordination still doesn't add up to me. In that world why wouldn't Vezo push me over Vaimes. Here he made the case largely against me but voted Vaimes. And KJ only claimed because of the "slip". It doesn't look like a coordinated effort to clear me and tie me to KJ.
So at EOD 1 you were Willing to vote either kJ or vezo (nailed both scum by EOD 1). So by your first post of Day 2, you are pretty much locked in on Vezo. Vezo’s Push on you doesn’t look any different than his push on me. Later that Day KJ slips, vezo mentions it but doesn’t vote KJ right away. Read #330 and see how forced that vote on KJ feels. KJ already knew you had his scent at the start of Day 2, hence the fake claim. They probably assumed there would be a doctor or a bulletproof considering their pr was a killing role, so cop was safe to claim.
I can't get over KJ derailing Vezok's push by cop clearing me. It's too uncoordinated. He did a few things I'll kick myself for overlooking if I'm wrong (the slip, 341, and just complete apathy at the end game) but I just think he is town. It's not even so much that I think you're scum Terry I just feel like the set up needs a PR for town even with the Night Chats and that he makes no sense at all to be scum with Vezok.

Game Over! He used to be a Spy
The final hours of the day ticked by with uncertainty in every aspect except one, it was down to the chemist.
“Comrade, please listen to me, you’ve being tricked; the man you trust is a gambler and a liar, he does this for a living.”
“I’ve trusted my intuition this far, and I know you’re not behind this, the Russian is though, look at him, he’s a spy, he deceives people for a living even more than I ever did. It’s time to end this.”
“I CAN’T TAKE THIS!!” The chemist exclaimed, torn between the two people in the world who could fool him the easiest, “Whatever the consequences, I’m siding with the man who’s been by me this whole time. If he fooled me, I don’t even want to live anymore.”
“NO!” The spy exclaimed, poised to strike, but it was too late, for his focus on the chemist caused him not to see the gambler flank him, catching him he surprise and get him in a headlock. With a jerk and a solemn nod, the spy was left lying dead, his neck broken.
“We’re safe now, I am and have always been your ally here.”

The neighbor chats didn’t get quite as much activity as I would have hoped, but a few of them got filled up pretty well. If I ran a sequel to this (and I think I eventually might) I’d look into using discord for the chats, I’d appreciate thoughts on whether that would be better or worse and if you’d consider playing in something like this again. The series of events at the beginning of the game was actually rather fun to watch; seeing Town no lynch, only to realize that played out in their benefit was glorious. I know the neutral role was not super unique and basically played like a townie with a harder win condition, but I feel like something more convoluted or powerful would have introduced a swingyness to the game that made it less fun for some. In very early design I had it as a jester, but quickly realized that that would just have not been fun or rewarding for anyone playing.
If you didn’t notice in the OP, flavor was randomized, and the role names for the cop and vig were made up after the flavor rolled onto them. The exception to this was GJ’s role, that flavor was intentional, though the role name of pariah I’m not 100% sold on. On top of that, the placement was also 100% randomized, with a couple of caveats during review about possible reroll scenarios.
The cop being so limited was done to avoid all but the most unlucky of blowouts. I don’t personally care for the role of Godfathers, I think when they play in a way that isn’t really fun for either team, as when they matter, it wins you the game, and when they don’t, it’s useless.
I hope you liked the flavor of the roles, and the eod/sod scenes (though I did get a little lazier near the end of the game).
I’ll say again, thank you guys for playing, keeping it pretty clean and civil, and replacement free; I appreciate you all.

Thanks for hosting! I really enjoyed the setup and thought the private chats were cool. The day limitations were very strict and made them tricky to use to any effect but it was really fun to have. And Killjoy definitely talked some sense into me during our night chats.
Secret/private chats are one of my favorite mechanics in mafia and I love seeing that sort of design space explored. Awesome game and I would play a similar set up again!
Arrrgggh. That would have been my masterpiece. I don’t like being scum. Sorry I was so good at it Grape and for all the anguish it caused you
Hydra'ing with you and seeing you do the big recaps in both really threw me. Really thought it was your town game and had mentally town blocked you despite not having a strong reason to do so. You played well to survive that long with Vezok going down so quickly.

Was the biggest reason we no lynched nerfing Vezok by accident and happened to nail scum. Bonus points to Cyan for nailing both scum D1!

The neighborhoods are great when used correctly, moreso for Town. Discord is nice for some added flexibility. Ideally the setup should be pretty low on non-vanilla as in here.
As for the f3:
I don't think KJ could ever have been scum here with the clear on Grape, it completely threw Vezok off. Clearing who your buddy is accusing would be a lolplay.
Terry would've had more chances convincing KJ than convincing Grape imo. Correct play would've been NKing grape and gun for my lynch. I find that, usually, the simpler play is ideal.
GJ kill n1 was pretty bad. I'd hedge it was scum's biggest misplay. The osie kill didnt matter as much as we made out to be, nor vaimes kill. At that point there was just too many conftown for Terry to win.
My thought on the kills, was that if I killed one of KJ or Grape, it basically hard clears the other. I thought I was better off making Grape think KJ was scum pocketing him (because I knew of his phobia). It was just too hard to Lynch Arc considering the Vaimes CFD he initiated. I had the KJ "slip" to work off of too. Osi was basically confirmed town with the derp hammer and KJ was already getting heat regardless of the cop claim.
Vezo never told me about the no Lynch ability, which could have significantly impacted my participation Day 1.
ALWAYS TELL YOUR SCUM BUDDIES YOUR ABILITIES (for emphasis, not yelling)
We kind of started out trying to shoot around a doc protect, but once I killed Osi I just started going for the kills that I would least likely make. It was a bit of backward thinking, but I think it got me pretty close to a very unlikely win when everything in a good POE would point to me.
I'm glad Grape got me in the end, I would have felt really bad for him if he didn't, but I tried as hard as I could till the very end.
I also started off in the scum chat asking Vezo to Deep Wolf while I Power Wolfed. I hadn't really tried class assignment as scum and wanted to give it a try. I think Vezo's play towards me in Day 1 really helped my longevity this game.
Nice job, good game all! I appreciate why Terry chose the nightkills he did, but I don't think I would've gone that route.
E: Some postmortem:
I'm glad that outside of Vezok, the rest of my reads pretty well held up. I'd be open to hearing what I could've done better before D3, beyond just generally being more active around the D1 lynch. I assume that was the ultimate reason people were willing to vote me over Cyan.
I agree with Arc's assessment of the setup. I think between the neutral and the existence of the neighbor mechanics, even though they weren't optimally used, the setup felt difficult for the mafia to win. I'll also agree that none of the nightkills would've followed what I would've done, but I don't think that's what any reasonable mafioso would've done, which was by design. Maybe the NK choices made it feel townsided, though: imagine if instead of GF & KJ, it was Vaimes and Arc. There could've been much bigger fireworks there.
Shadow, thanks for the prompt deadlines and smooth execution of the game. You handled everything flawlessly. I think quicktopic works great for these purposes, but I've never used Discord for such things.
GJ, good job sticking to your guns and Occam's razor. I'm also surprised KJ didn't put a bit more effort in towards the endgame.
Cyan, I hope we see you again sooner than later, but thanks for seeing it through. It would've been pretty cool to see one last herculean effort from you to solve the game and convince the town, but I guess you already had the game figured out at that point anyways.
Arc/Vaimes, nice job on your reads and overall contributions. Sorry I didn't do more in the chat, Arc. Weekends have never been good for me when it comes to mafia, and it's a shame, considering I love masons/neighbors. Vaimes did a couple things that threw me off early in the game, but generally approached the game with a mindset I can relate to, and posed some excellent questions/viewpoints.

As far as my NK selection goes, I have to defend them by saying that when Vezo got us a no Lynch Day 1 and lynched Day 2, the same day we got a cop and a clear and player who obviously derailed a wagon ONTO Vezo, plus Osi's derp hammer, I was severely screwed. I tried to create as much wine as possible with my kills, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to pull it off any way so I tried an extreme strategy.
Yeah I don't blame you much for the kills past Vezok's death like I said, you were between a rock and a hard place, with too much confirmed town in your plate. Which is why I said GJ kill was a misplay, game could've gone much differently if you had killed somebody else. Who would've made a better choice? No idea. But just imagine it had been Grape for example, or KJ. This game could've gone pretty differently.
I mean..you can't really try to whitewash the Osie kill here, you didn't have an in game reason for killing him. And killing Arc was just a poor choice period, he was the only person who could conceivably get lynched on the last day other than you, Terry.
This game seemed rough for you guys in general(vezok was really obviously scum from literally the outset of the game, and somehow none of the town really got out of line), so ultimately choosing different kills might not have mattered, but still.

I probably could have killed Grape, but I think Arc's Vezo Lynch was just too obviously not a bus and I had a better chance praying on Grape's fear of being pocketed in chats.

This game seemed rough for you guys in general(vezok was really obviously scum from literally the outset of the game, and somehow none of the town really got out of line), so ultimately choosing different kills might not have mattered, but still.
