1. On a personal note. My town was severely impacted by the largest fire in CA history and now we just got hammered by a winter storm. Cell towers are down, cable is down, and internet is down. I’m fine, we have power (but are told not to drink the water without boiling it), but this will be my only post today and maybe tomorrow too.
2. In my chat with Osi, I outlined my thoughts in detail. He is welcome to share since I can’t at the moment. I was going to come in swinging at vaimes and GJ. It looked like a CFD to vezo saving vaimes at EOD. It looks like Arc started it FYI, but I thought he was playing pretty town. Bye.
He is welcome to share since I can’t at the moment.
Terry's comments (in short, paraphrased summary form):
Grape and Vezok are both potentially scum, but they are tiny fish compared to other scummy players.
Cyan is my favorite person in the whole wide world. He is the towniest town to ever town up the town.
Osieorb18 is my second favorite person. I want to see more of his posts, because every single one makes me want to buy him a drink.
Vaimes and GJ should be hung, drawn, quartered, and erased.
Dan is not likely to be scum
Arcthurus town for sure unless Vaimes flips scum, in which case Arcthurus could be scum too..
Killjoy is the strangest person I've ever seen in any part of my life. I don't understand Killjoy. He makes me want to rethink what makes the world go round.
Vezo that push on me is not great. First off trying to excuse you avoiding a town read on Johnny when he called the action "slightly townier" before walking it back because of GJ being a neutral is absurd. Your logic is I as scum attempted to pressure you for avoiding a town read on Johnny who I successfully identified as a third party, and then killed him making my plan of pressuring you for refusing to town read him look even sillier?
That plan is more convoluted than your average heist movie.
And makes less sense.
Further clarifications: You interpreted my posts as scum reading Osie. At the time I voted him he was my forth strongest town read. He just appeared to be the only viable counterwagon.
Also you mention that I appear to be faking having reads: You're half right. I don't have any strong scum reads this game (well until your intellectually dishonest case against me) but I have strong town reads and have been playing the game based on that.
Also Arc was just as strong in refusing to lynch Vaimes and in fact HE started the counter wagon on you when iirc could have hammered Vaimes. But you see no buddying there.
@Osie My town read on Dan is just that he feels really townie and like he's trying to solve. Like almost every post has a town tonal sound to me and I've generally agreed with his reads so far this game. I'm at work or I'd point to specific posts, but I really liked his posting in the aftermath from you revealing GJ was gambiting.

You bring a good point about Arc. I'll have to research it.

I'm not trying to avoid scum reads. I just don't have strong ones anymore. Arc moving the wagon off a town read of mine when he could have hammered torpedoed my scum read of him. He even had the cover of it being to ensure a lynch with the opportunity coming less than 3 hours before deadline.
I just don't have good scum hunting instincts and building a town block is a decent alternative. Lynching through everyone else pretty much always hits scum and right now you and Cyan are the least townie of everyone else.
Cyan is my favorite person in the whole wide world. He is the towniest town to ever town up the town.
I mean, we know this is at least half fiction.
Now now Cyan, you know you're secretly loveable.
Like the Grinch. Outwardly misunderstood but really just in need of a hug to make your heart grow those three sizes again.
---------------------------------------------
Ok. I need to figure some stuff out.
I feel like I can possibly garner some info out of the reactions to GJ's gambit since we now know he was town.
Perhaps from the reactions to the reactions. Hm.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

I think Osie's reaction to this is a townie reaction. Unless things change I'm not remotely interested in lynching Osie today. I think Terry is up every wrong tree (the vaimes vote is ???) but this feels like town!Terry.
I don't think that Gambit is AI for GJ.
I'm a little torn on Arc. I like most of 60 (him trying to get more out of terry and calling him on presenting facts as reads) but I don't love his insta clear of GJ. It's a weird clear to make of this thing would draw instant and unyielding pressure, and he did it, so therefore he must be town. It's a bit too easy and enough for me to draw a possible soft connection between the two of them. Probably too blatant for scum buddies and I have no real reason to think they are scum, just felt a bit protective. Going back to his Terry interaction for a second completely agree that Terry's stance on Cyan reads like he has info on Cyan's game from both sides of the coin not just one.
Cyan feels vaguely townie to me. That sort of exasperation feels like town!Cyan not wanting to have to defend/clear himself. Not a strong read, just soft tonal feels.
I kinda think it's +town to not like...force a dichotomy here, unless osie is his partner (and even then completely letting GJ off the hook would be ???) because then you're bound to get two free town lynches. The soft defense of me is eh, could be informed, and I still don't love his Arc read re: GJ.
And I do find it slightly eyebrow raising to vote someone who just made a for real vote in RVS. Even if I did the same thing.
Speaking of @Cyan why is it scummy for Terry but not me?
also kinda towny? "he did this thing and it's scummy but I did the same thing [and I'm town]" ehhhh
The way he's handling me/Terry also looks good. He's completely avoiding the easy lynches/bandwagons, but the downside is that also lets him push wagons with no real consequences. His progression on Arc is okay, I don't really see anything unfair/slimy.
Also like his reaction to the kill. "lol I was gonna come after GJ but...welp" And his whole "doesn't have scumreads" thing isn't really true considering the way the game played out.
eh okay yeah I talked myself into townreading Grape
Not Voting -(4)- ganderin_dan, Killjoy, TheRealStinkyJoeTerry, Vaimes
Lynch threshold is 5 votes.
---
I'm playing around with the idea that the other scum is already voting for vezo, and if so, then it's prooobably Arc. Still kinda want to look into dan since I'm just voicing hypotheses without rereading right now.
I'd even argue that grapefruit thought GJ was third party and that's why he shot him as he was one of the few people who didn't townread GJ.
Wait, I just noticed this.
Now while the majority of this post is trash regardless of your alignment, this is borderline gibberish. Assuming I'm not getting the pronouns mixed up, you are asserting that mafia shot someone they were pretending to scumread (and in this case, neither scum!Vaimes nor scum!Grape were townreading GJ), which is something that happens approximately never.
Maaaybe if /one/ of us is scum and the other really wants GJ dead, okay, it's possible. But the scumteam is never, ever, ever Grapefruit/Vaimes. Half of that scumteam is under a ton of pressure, and shooting GJ gives them no outs.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to you completely rethinking all of your reads in light of KJ's scumslip.

@KJ Since we now know he was...neutral? @GF I don't think that action by Arc was AI, since hammering without town consensus would be a death wish regardless of alignment. @Osie/whoever What does Terry mean when he says CFD?
I like GF's interactions with Vezok quite a bit. I can sympathize with his situation of townhunting into PoE, since that's how I approach the game normally. I'm going to have to give a more thorough reread sometime tonight or later this week.

I mean that GJ was "town" in the sense of "not being scum so they killed him". I also kinda assumed he was town because he was dead.
CFD is Chinese Fire Drill, which means a group of people quickly switching votes to wagon someone (usually at end of day).

Killjoy, when you looked at the Daystart post, what part specifically made you aware that GJ died?
Mod post containing a spoiler with his name in it. Then I read his role and saw that he was targeted with a killing role so he left the game.
I mean, did you see GJ's name in the flavor and decided not to read the rest of the post? Most people are curious if a PR died, or what their flavor is, and at least opens the spoiler before posting.

Man, a lot happens when you don't refresh a thread over the course of 3 hours.
@Vezok What makes you think 322's post makes you more likely to consider Vaimes town than the rest of his posts? For the most part, I don't think his tone or mindset has really changed.
@Cyan I'd pose you the same question.
Bold move deciding to claim cop to a neighbor. Care to explain your rationale there, @KJ?
This post is half a prodge since I've been really busy. Should do stuff sometime tomorrow.
I didn't necessarily think kj was town before, but I believe their claim. Grape corroborating gives their claim even more strength specially if it was before claiming in thread like Grape implied, correct me if I'm wrong. I also didn't think they slipped but w/e.

I copped him, and he came up town. I then claimed to him, as he's confirmed town.

Grapefruit thinks everyone is scum pocketing him.
The reason I targeted him is because I think scum would love to lynch him.
It's funny.
@Vezok What makes you think 322's post makes you more likely to consider Vaimes town than the rest of his posts? For the most part, I don't think his tone or mindset has really changed.
@Cyan I'd pose you the same question.
Bold move deciding to claim cop to a neighbor. Care to explain your rationale there, @KJ?
meh
I'll think about things later.
Not really convinced to move my vote.
I think his mindset/tone looked radically different in those posts. It's hard for me to understand how you could think otherwise.
Vote: Vezok
Hopefully we're all right.
Can't tell if tstbs or just careless..... >_>
I copped him, and he came up town. I then claimed to him, as he's confirmed town.
