With time running out, and this new group of people trying to force Divinity to bend to its will, tensions were growing tense. Of all the allomancers in the world, soothers/rioters were considered the slimest of the bunch. Coinshots, leechers: they have one trick, and we nothing too fancy. But those mental metals mess with the mind. So when jdawesomesauce tried to riot the emotionsof Killjoy, the last straw was finally had. The town of Divinity grabbed him, strung him up to the hangman's noose, and kicked away the stool. To everyone's most unfortune, jd was in fact a member of the town, and one simply way over his head.
Realizing that now was the time to strike, Rhand, Tordeck, and Atogaholic all came out of the hiding. Using everything from their own unique powers, to the obsidian daggers, pistols, and other weapons at the disposal, obliterated everyone who might even have a hint of allomancy or feruchemy. The town watched in horror as bandits rushed the city, looting everything in their path, as Tordeck took control of the city.
Mira, Mafia Twinborn, Ticem, Mafia Twinborn, and Pekabur, Mafia Feruchemist now ran the city. As the plan to take over this world came to fruition, their attention now turned to Harmony. Fortunately, their master would eventually deal with him, as he has with many others. May Odiem rein forever!
Game over. Perfect Mafia Victory.
Roles (editing now)
Atog
You are Pekabur, Mafia Feruchemist. You may chat here
All your life, you have been mocked by the terris children you are around. As a gasper, your ability was considered a joke next to steel runners, brutes, and other more "powerful" abilities that some of your mates grew up learning. Your teachers taught that any feruchemy has it uses, and to the horror of you future victims, they will find your teachers couldn't be more right.
Cadium 1 Charge Active (Gasper): If you would be lynched, you aren't instead. While charging, you cannot perform the mafia kill. You must declare at night if you are planning to be lynch immune during the next day. You will expand the charge either way.
Rhand
You are Mira, Mafia Twinborn. Your chat is here
You came to divinity with the rare trait of having both skaa and terris blood in your veins. You tended to lean more towards your terris upbringing, but you never felt fully satisfied. You desired adventure, riches, and power. You possessed the rare trait of compounding gold, why should life as a simple secretary mean anything to you? Along with the others in your group, you are hoping to overthrow divinity, and rule it strength this city so desperately needs.
Allomancy 1-Shot Passive (Auger): If your abilities are monitored, it will show whoever you targeted yesterday (if you did not target anyone, you will not be seen).
Feruchemy 1-Charge Active (Bloodmaker): Any attempt to kill you will fail immediately. While charging, you would normally be killed by any negative ability. (but you are double gold mafia. I might not mention that you don't have any downside to charging this ability.).
You win when the town cannot.
Tordeck
ou are Ticem, Mafia Twinborn. You may chat here
Divinity has been your home for as long as you can remember. No matter how grand the city, each city will always have some for of slums, or ghetto and you grew up knowing it like the back of your hand. While the rules are always the same "kill or be killed", allomancers and feruchemists are very rare orphans. To the shock of a bandit one day, you happened to be both. All you want is to live a life of peace, and this group you joined will be your best chance at happiness.
Allomancy 2-Shot Active (Pulser) The target will be unable to perform any actions as you make night for them speed up beyond their control. However, if the target targets you, that action will still resolve.
Feruchemy 2 Charges Active (Connector) While charging, your lynch threshold is reduced by 2. While active, you may enter into a mason chat with anyone of your choice, during the day or night. A single charge will last for two phases (so if used in the day, it will go to night, and vice-versa).
Killjoy
You are Elendor, Town Twinborn
Named after one of older cities since the fall of the Lord Ruler, you have always felt a special connection to both powers. When you snapped and became both an allomancer and a feruchemist, your passion drove you to learn as much as you could about the past. You are an explorer, a discoverer of the truth, and all around good guy.
Allomancy Active 2-shot (Lurcher) You may target a player and force them to use any abilities on you instead.
Feruchemy Passive 1 Charges (Sentry) While active, you will see any player that targets you, and avoid any non-lethal abilities. While charging, you cannot use any abilities.
Let me know if you want to start charging.
JD
You are Vinet, Town Twinborn
As a young girl, you were taught the ways of the Ascendant Warrior, and trained to be one of the strongest twinborn out there. While your abilities aren't as useful as you may have liked, no one can doubt the power of emotions can have on an opponent. Brute force and brute wit: The strongest weapons you have at your disposal.
Allomancy Active 2-shot (Rioter) During the day, you may force a player to vote another player (this is private). During the night, you can force a player's action to go through before any other abilities.
Feruchemy 1 Charge Active (Sparker) While charging, you cannot vote. While active, during the day, you are considered a double voter.
Iso
You are Trai Town Feruchemist
As a follower of the Terris ways, you have always been calmer and slow (patient to you) to analyze and chat with people. It is ironic that our of all the abilities, you ended up with the ability to move at inhuman rates (at the price of being even slower than normal). As the years have gone by, you recognize a time for haste, and a time for patience. You can sense the aura of the city is changing, and you are ready to help in any way you can.
Feruchemy Active 2 Charges (Skimmer) While charging, you may target a player. If that player would be killed, you die instead (you will also not gain a charge during the night). You may use a charge this to target a player and if that player would die, they don't instead.
Let me know if you want to start charging, or if you have questions.
DV
You are Rensh, Town Feruchemist
You are the fastest man in the Terris village. Steelrunners, even among the Terris are considered to be especially rare. You were never the strongest among non-brutes, nor the smartest, but it doesn't matter how strong someone is if they can't hit you.
Feruchemy Passive 1 Charge (Steelrunner) While active, cannot be targeted. While charging, your lynch threshold is -2 (this won't put you below L-1 ever).
Let me know if you want to start charging.
tom
You are Cetal, Town Allomancer
Your name comes from a man who used to rule the Western Dominance, although generation after generation has left the Cett name rather less than clean. It was an almost miracle that you found yourself with any allomancer blood in your body. As the name sake of Lord Cett, you will protect this home and redeem the family name.
Allomancy Active 2-shot (Tineye) You may target a player, and see any player that player targets. You will not see what abilities are used.
Huntzilla
You are Drif, Town Allomancer
You are no ordinary thug. You are also a bit of an enigma. for a company that can only afford an allomancer or two, they wouldn't even look at you twice. But for a company with an army of allomancers, you are the perfect man for the job. While you can do nothing by yourself, when grouped with someone else, you can give power beyond what anyone before the breaking of the final empire could do.
Allomancy 2 shot Active (Nicroburst). When targeting another player, that power will go through any and all protections/immunity. (you also grant the ability priority)
Hunger
You are Viela, Town Feruchemist
The Terris people are always a welcoming place, even to the skaa. While you have parents of both lineage, you only developed power from the Terris half of the equation. Your father was always disappointed in your lack of allomantic ability, but the Terris welcomed you with open arms. Naturally, you stayed with your mother and melded your ability to help others. Much of your ability is still unknown, but you will use it the best you can.
Feruchemy Active 1 Charges (Trueself) You may reveal your role to target player. That player will see you as Viela, Town Feruchemist. If charging, you will be seen as mafia if targeted by any ability.
Let me know if you want to start charging your ability.
Mindreaver
You are Skala, Town Allomancer.
Your life has been relatively average. As a young girl of a decent family, you live better than most of the city, but aren't as restricted as your better off colleagues. The freedom to do what you want. Your allomancy helps you find others like you, and gives you opportunities to make even more as seekers are considered rarer, and high in demand to people who like to know when other allomancers are near.
Allomancy 2 Shot Active (Seeker) You will find out the total number of allomantic abilities being used at night.
Proph
You are Merst, Town Twinborn.
As most children of dual ancestry decent, you spent your life in both the city, and in the Terris sanctuary each city has. While the number of Terris has continued to increase since the fall of Lord Ruler, hundreds of years of breeding programs take centuries to full recover. Despite having two stronger abilities, you have always believed in doing the right thing.
Allomancy Active 2-shot (Leecher) Target a player at night. That player will lose any Allomantic charges they have.
Feruchemy Active 1 charge (Brute) Target a player at night. That player will die. While charging, any ability that targets you at night will kill you.
Let me know if you want begin charging, otherwise, best of luck!

It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

Personal notes: One flaw in my game is I ignore lurkers too much. I KNEW Tordeck was scum. His constant push on me was vastly beneath his skill level. But he lurked like crazy in the endgame and I lost sight of him. The reason I had for Rhand was wrong in hindsight, but now I know to look for lurky try-not-much Rhand as scum. Atog I jsut overlooked completely. Thats another flaw in my game is if I think people are town things they do just go over my head completely.
Good game, mafia.
Edit: I still hate tight deadlines. It stresses me out too much. Maybe you noticed. lol

Man, I had Atog on the wrong scumteam. If I had replaced JD with Atog on the Rhand/Tordeck scumteam, I'd have had it, but I let Killjoy change my mind on JD and that was that.

I just wanted to say that I really respect you for actually putting in the time and rereading the game (even though I was getting frustrated with you in spec chat prior to that).
You nailed 2/3rds of the scum, even though you got pushed away a bit with that counterclaim confusion that even I didn't understand, and that was pretty good considering the gamestate at the time.
I had about 3 scum teams drawn up and was fine with lynching anyone but Huntz.
That's why I went on you. I guess a triple voter with a 12 man game on the scum team makes actually zero sense. Not certain why I just rubber stamped that. Well then.
I always have trouble reading you. Isn't English your second language? Or am I misremembering? Either way, something about the way you construct your posts reads artificially to me, but I went back and actually read the first two pages and found some good reasons to townread you. I knew I shouldn't have gotten sucked into the modgaming.

High five to my man Togs for finally winning a game as scum.
Actually, I've never lost a scum game in 3 games. (Even though I played terribly in all of them). Interestingly this was my first game on MTGS, town or scum, where I wasn't lynched. I can't be proud of much this game, but at least I have that. Also, shoutout to Rhand for saving my ass with that claim test thing and winning it for us.
The spec chat was quite amusing to read, as ZDS once said "It's like watching a disaster movie unfolding in slow motion." I do want to thank GJ too, he had several posts in the spec chat where he pointed out things I said that were too obvious or that I should have been pressured more on. I like to try to learn something from each of my games and those points are quite helpful to me in that regard.

This was @JD.

Sorta not really.
I just think strangely most of the time and type how I think. My general rule of thumb for this one is just ask me. I'll try and explain, typically I just make assumptions on things that seem obvious facts to me.
Its really funny to me because this game particularly I was reading as scum bluster from you just pushing things forwards and it felt artificial to me.
No, english is definitely my first language. My problem is that I think of 3 different ways to say something while typing and the resulting sentence gives the impression that I'm not very comfortable with the english language. Also I play from work often so don't really spend time proof reading my posts so many of those sentences get sent out without being corrected.
I was leaning scum on tordeck, I was expecting him to come in and vouch for me if he was town, was coming back to ask for a prod but the game was over.
Anyway well done scum team.
Also this games ends my record of never being lynched

I think if anyone deserves town MVP here, it is KJ. I think that if that Hunt/JD dichotomy wasn't there, we would've lost thanks to him. Hardocre pushing Atog for the towncred seemed to be our only way out of losing until then.
For any of you curious people not named Proph or Rhand. Cadium is a softer type of metal, and one of the new ones in the second set of Mistborn.
Mod notes.
Alright, so here is one of my favorite parts of the games I host: My vision of the game, and how the game ended up progressing. Number 1 should be very obvious, and I just want to get this out of the way.
1. Lynching roles that have no business being lynched.
So, when I designed this game originally, I knew that because the set-up of no vanillas, there was going to be a lot of power running around. Atog's role orignally had a tough guy shot allomancy ability, and his feru prevented him from doing anything to charge his unlynchable shot. Few other changes to town roles, but Proph's Brute/Leecher role and JD's double Zinc power felt to be the safest roles for the lynch. Hell, I thought from the get go that there is no way JD would ever be lynched. Most people think scum double voters are insane, imagine now a triple voter with utility. Proph's role......I feel like most people give vigs a shot to prove they are vigs, or get shot by the real vig. Another very real chance this slot doesn't get lynched. Well, it got lynched ><. Aside from the fact that scum with that role would have NEVER claimed the leecher part of the role, his PGO claim might have been seen as a lie, but should have been obvious as a town lie, otherwise why admit it?
Note, that I am still strongly against flavor gaming. I'll get to this later, but there are some things that you can guess at, have no way of ever being fair for a certain alignment to have. Think Iso's claimed role in Stargate, and how insane that would have been as a town role.
2. Deadlines aren't always great, but there needs to be an effort shrown.
This was by far, the slowest game in terms of posting I have ever hosted, regardless of set-up. Day 1 had a 28 day deadline (which four weeks I thought was quite generous). The problem is that too many people were dragging their feet, both town and scum. I was originally going to do a formula that had basically number of players x 2 +5 (I made an exception for day 1, just to keep it clean) but I felt it wouldn't do anything. I thought slightly shorter (this day still ended up being two weeks) would cause both sides to realize lurking here is dangerous. Which brings me to my next point.
3. We heart Lurkers, yes we do. We heart lurkers, how bout you?
I don't know when, how, or if has always been acceptable since I started to just wait in the weeds. This is only aimed at townies, as scum can only pull this off if enough town are also lurking. It is a point I will always go after as long as I play, regardless of alignment, and I hope this game, and even recent games that have passed will show this: A lot of mafia members lurk, and it seems that calling them out on this gets people into more trouble than just leaving them alone. I don't understand this. If you are town and just being lurky, you are hurting your team. You are allowing the scum to also hide along side with you, and get away with not posting because no one it is. The scum don't have to initiate conversation, or force the day their way, and the good ones usually won't (or will, without being noticed) so you need to make sure you can stand out. Your primary job, even more than catching scum is to make yourself unlynchable.
4. Flavor Traps. Sometimes, they bite back.
I was well aware that Hunt's / JD's role might cause tension. I almost changed Hunt's to be a shot reimburse for allomancy to avoid it. But going into this game, after the mafia nerfs, I thought the town had a slight edge going in. The town had a pretty large amount of power, and even after KJ's role was switched to a self-watch, I still felt the mafia could get some really bad luck, so I left a single flavor trap in. Going from point 1, I figured that JD was likely safe. If the town made it into a dichotomy, Hunt likely dies first, especially with the fact his role "pierces" protections (so KJ/DV would have lost their protection. A kill would have gone through Iso, ect, ect). So, the bone I threw was small: Both roles granted priority on a limited basis, but both had a slight utility that made them a bit more unique (don't get me wrong, I figured a counterclaim would likely happen),a different codename for the role, and make the town more reliant on behavior (which was unfortunate that JD was being seen as scum even before that came up to be an issue).
5. Where does that leave us?
There were some questionable plays all around. I don't think anyone played super bad, so no LVP or ***** like that. I think lessons were learned, and we can all have fun in the future.
Town MVP: DV
While no one really took over the role as town leader, I felt DV's reads were the most constant, and he was on the trail of at least 1-2 scum (atog/Tordeck). He also played an overall solid game, and really wasn't viewed as a lynch until late day three by Iso.
Scum MVP: Rhand
Each member of the scum did a great job, but I felt Rhand did the best of standing out, and keeping himself out of harm's way. He was ALMOST caught at the end, but he was in the bottom half of people who were being considered for being lynched, and I felt he played the Hunt/JD thing out incredibly well.
I would love to hear any more comments, questions, or feedback if anything else exists!
Honestly, this game taught me a huge lesson in terms of effort and engagement.
Halfway through the Day I kind of just mentally checked out from this game since it was just full of lurking. However, the quality of your play heavily depends on you being active, engaged, and invested in the game, and my head just wasn't in it. I didn't put in the legwork to succeed in this game, and it's pretty obvious why I ended up being the Day 1 mislynch.
Even if I wasn't right (heck, I cleared Tordeck and Togs for most of Day 1), putting forth actual effort would have made it easier for me to be seen as town, and it helps other townies analyze things too. It also forces the scum to try and analyze the gamestate as well, which is how I caught Tordeck at the end of Day 1 - since I noticed he wasn't doing anything other than pushing on killjoy.
So yeah, even if I played a pretty big part on how the town lost this game, I think there's some valuable lessons to be had here, and this game will be a pretty invaluable learning experience in my eyes.
Oh @Iso: didn't it alarm you that I was agreeing with you instead of thinking you're scum like I usually do when I'm town?
It usually does, but you weren't present enough in the game for me to make waves about it. I think there was a recent game where you said "I can never read Iso" and left it at that and you were town, so I was content to let it lie for the time being.

I'm actually kind of interested in making another Mistborn mafia based on the original trilogy, since I was hoping to see some of the characters I knew and loved. (Vin, Elend, Sazed)
I do appreciate keeping this spoiler free, though, since I can maybe dive into the second trilogy sooner or later.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style.

There's a second trilogy? I'm not even done with the first one yet :/
How far are you?
Just finished Hero of Ages a month ago, loved it. My only complaint would have to be the fight scenes though, I liked the political intrigue/strategizing more (which is why I think Well of Ascension is superior to the other two books in the trilogy)

Seppel checks the thread title. A perfect mafia victory?? Who nailed it? Oh, it's not listed in the opening post. Let me see, I wonder if I can guess the mafia based on who's still alive and who was lynched.
So pissed my computer died when it did. Not being able to log in from my phone and only having a super slow old IBM with like windows XP screwed me up that final day. Honestly think had that not happend I wopuld have earned my first MVP from this game.
Rhand
Tordeck
JD
Iso
DV
You are the fastest man in the Terris village. Steelrunners, even among the Terris are considered to be especially rare. You were never the strongest among non-brutes, nor the smartest, but it doesn't matter how strong someone is if they can't hit you.
Feruchemy Passive 1 Charge (Steelrunner) While active, cannot be targeted. While charging, your lynch threshold is -2 (this won't put you below L-1 ever).
Let me know if you want to start charging.
tom
Your name comes from a man who used to rule the Western Dominance, although generation after generation has left the Cett name rather less than clean. It was an almost miracle that you found yourself with any allomancer blood in your body. As the name sake of Lord Cett, you will protect this home and redeem the family name.
Allomancy Active 2-shot (Tineye) You may target a player, and see any player that player targets. You will not see what abilities are used.
Huntzilla
You are no ordinary thug. You are also a bit of an enigma. for a company that can only afford an allomancer or two, they wouldn't even look at you twice. But for a company with an army of allomancers, you are the perfect man for the job. While you can do nothing by yourself, when grouped with someone else, you can give power beyond what anyone before the breaking of the final empire could do.
Allomancy 2 shot Active (Nicroburst). When targeting another player, that power will go through any and all protections/immunity. (you also grant the ability priority)
Hunger
Mindreaver
Your life has been relatively average. As a young girl of a decent family, you live better than most of the city, but aren't as restricted as your better off colleagues. The freedom to do what you want. Your allomancy helps you find others like you, and gives you opportunities to make even more as seekers are considered rarer, and high in demand to people who like to know when other allomancers are near.
Allomancy 2 Shot Active (Seeker) You will find out the total number of allomantic abilities being used at night.
Proph

Well then.

I was leaning scum on tordeck, I was expecting him to come in and vouch for me if he was town, was coming back to ask for a prod but the game was over.
Anyway well done scum team.
Also this games ends my record of never being lynched
The GJ way path to no lynching:
It usually does, but you weren't present enough in the game for me to make waves about it. I think there was a recent game where you said "I can never read Iso" and left it at that and you were town, so I was content to let it lie for the time being.
