1. There are no alignment-changing roles, jesters, or cults in this game. There may be other nonsense.
2. No post editing, no PM quoting. No discussing the game with anybody aside from me and people specifically outlined in your role PM, and only at the time and in the manner specified.
3. If you are dead, do not post or communicate with anybody about the game in any form. Not even a Bah! post.
4. Lynch will be reached with a majority vote. No amount of unvoting will stop this.

6. Respect the spirit of the game and do not engage in any out-of-game behavior. Activity stalking, attempting to get yourself modkilled, or similar behaviors will result in a modkill, blacklisting from all of my future games, and recommendation that you be put on probation.
7. Bold your votes. Unvote before voting for somebody else. Make all votes on a new line. If you do not follow these rules I will not count your vote.
8. If a deadline for a lynch is reached without a majority, the Day will end in No Lynch. If you fail to submit a Night action by the deadline, it will not be counted. Please inform me if you wish to take no action at Night.

10. No post thanking! If you really want to thank a post, thank one of mine.
Credit for the rules goes to all of the fantastic mafia mods out there I wish I could be like.
1. Each player belongs to one of four Guilds: The Orzhov Syndicate , the Boros Legion , the Gruul Clans , or the Simic Combine . The scum are all members of House Dimir who have seamlessly infiltrated the other guilds.
2. Guilds are not factions. Other than potential neutrals, the game consists of only town and scum players.
3. The Town win condition is: "You win when there are no more threats to the town remaining."
4. The Scum win condition is: "You win when you equal or outnumber the town."
1. Deadlines for this game will be: <# of players> + <lynch threshold> = Deadline in days. The maximum length for a Day will be three weeks.
2. Each Day phase will have a deadline. Night phases will last 72 hours until half of the players are dead, at which point they will be shortened to 48 hours. Nights may be shortened further toward the end of the game.
3. During the game, there are up to three deadline extensions available. These extensions may be requested by the players at any time in the thread, and may be granted at my sole discretion. Don't be mad if I say no.
The options are as follows:
A: 24 hours per player OR 7 days, whichever is shorter. Used D1
B: 72 hours
C: 48 hours
Extension Rules:
- Once a particular extension is used, it cannot be used again that same game.
- Any number of extensions can be used in the same game Day.
- If the players do not specify which extension they wish to use (or if there is no consensus on which one to use), I will pick the remaining option highest up on the list.
- Extensions are appended to the deadline time. There's no need to strategically time when the request is made.
- At least two players must request an extension for it to be considered.
Player Responsibilities
1. Follow the rules. If you break a rule, you will almost certainly be modkilled. This is your warning.

5. Issue prods and locate replacements if needed.
Hours later, the chamber was swarming with activity. The lawmages of the Tenth district had arrived, prompted by a timely tip by Nefara. Lured by the prize of catching a most wanted criminal, they failed to consider how exactly one had observed a crime scene so deep in the Undercity.
“Detective Hulbein! Report!”
A booming voice cut across the bustle in the chamber. Despite the noise, it could be heard clearly from one end to the other.
“Ah! Captain! I wasn’t expecting you so soon.”
A man quickly hurried up to the entrance of the chamber. He was dressed in a detective’s uniform, marking him above the rank of the common lawmages in the room. However, he was clearly outshone by the owner of the piercing voice that had announced her presence moments prior. Captain Lavinia had arrived, her rare presence signifying the great importance of this investigation.
“I came as soon as I heard confirmation of the tip. What is the situation?” Lavinia spoke more softly now, but the words were no less commanding than before.
“Well, Captain,” said Hulbein, “there’s a woman here who seems to have survived an attack by the Usurper. We’re only just now getting her to talk. We haven’t managed to find anything else useful in the room so far, but we are continuing a thorough search.”
Lavinia nodded. The Usurper was the code name for the mysterious person responsible for the assassinations of the guild leaders, and others, that had thrown Ravnica into turmoil over the past week. The situation was quite dire at this point. She went over the list in her head quickly. Rakdos had been toppled. Jarad (though undead already) had been destroyed. Niv-Mizzet and Trostani were seemingly missing, and, most distressingly, her own guildmaster Isperia had fallen as well. Zegana, Prime Speaker of the Simic, had been placed in protective custody. Aurelia, of the Boros, took refuge in Sunhome. Borborygmos, reigning leader of the Gruul Clans, was under watch—he refused anything resembling protection, taking such as a sign of weakness. Finally, the Ghost Council of Orzhova, being already ghosts, was assumed to be able to take care of itself.
“Let me listen to her,” said Lavinia, “I want to hear what she has to say with my own ears.”
Hulbein nodded and led her to the center of the room, where several arresters and a healer were gathered around the supine figure.
As the arresters noticed Lavinia’s presence, they stood and saluted, as if out of reflex. She waved them off and knelt down next to the victim. Lavinia looked at the healer.
“Can she speak?” she inquired.
“I believe so,” said the healer, “I’ve managed to bring her back to consciousness. She appears to have suffered memory loss, however, so I do not know how much use her story will be.”
The captain pursed her lips. Mind magic was not something she was accustomed to. Though her rank commanded a certain level of respect and suggested a decorated term of service with the Azorius, her primary experience was with field work and logistics. It hurt her pride somewhat to admit that she was so unused to dealing with opposing magic. However, the investigation had to proceed.
Lavinia leaned over and looked the woman in the eyes.
“Do you remember what happened to you?” she said.
“I… I don’t really remember,” the woman said, her voice cracking. She took a second to wet her lips and swallow. When she spoke again, it was clearer. “But I remember being brought here by a man… what was his name? Jay… Jace?”
“Jace Beleren?” interjected Hulbein.
“Beleren! Yes, that was it.” The woman continued, “He tried to kill me and wipe my memories… but I guess I survived somehow? He was… he said he was the one responsible for killing that awful demon! That’s why he tried to wipe my memory. Yes. I must have stumbled upon him and uncovered evidence of his actions, which is why he tried to wipe my memory.”
She was speaking more lucidly now, and convincingly. However, what appeared to Lavinia and the rest of the Tenth to be a coherent story from the victim of a brutal crime was nothing other than a mind struggling to recreate a narrative that would explain the memories that had been implanted in it.
Lavinia looked up at Hulbein, then back at the woman.
“Thank you,” she said, “Your story has been most helpful. Now let the healer take care of you.”
She stood and stepped back, motioning to the healer to resume convalescent care. She then walked back toward the entrance of the chamber, followed closely by detective Hulbein.
“Beleren,” said Lavinia, “HE is the usurper? Why is this not a surprise to me?” She stood in silent thought for a moment, then resumed. “Take point on this investigation. Dispatch arresters to his known haunts and residences. Report to me on the hour. I want to be there when we take him down.”
Hulbein saluted and ran off to mobilize the arresters. Lavinia looked back into the room and thought to herself. Jace Beleren. Ravnica’s poster boy. She had suspected Jace of this crime for some time—his grand ambitions for the plane were no secret—but to have real confirmation of the fact gave her new drive. He would not escape the clutches of the Tenth.

Welcome to Day One of GATECRASH.
The deadline is in 21 days, or Friday, March 27th, at 11:59 PM EST.
So, what did the mass-claim discussion and/or outcome in the previous game look like?
I can see a pretty potentially disastrous issue from NOT having one of the guilds claim in a limited fashion right up front, but haven't the slightest idea what sort of counter-measures may or may not be in place. To the point that if a claim of some kind doesn't go forward, it probably results in two townie deaths.

I'm pretty sure we're of the same guild, though not necessarily the same alignment.
Guild mechanics weren't huge last game. There was a town role that could resurrect 1 dead guild member and a guild that had neighbour chat as long as their (scum) leader was alive, and that was it iirc.
Meg did announce more guild-related shenanigans this time though.
A mass guild claim might be ok. That also locks scum in their claims.

I'm against any sort of massclaim, guild claims included. We just got burned on this in Iji Mafia, and I know that Megs follows a similar design philosophy to Iso. This game will be solved through behavior, and since the game is even more focused on guilds, I'm very wary on anything that is even barely mechanics-related.

It's a pretty tenuous observation that I made, and I wasn't intending to persuade anyone with it. You'll probably laugh at me if I tell you.
If you think that what you observed was "a tenuous observation" then why did you point it out? You're basically inviting people to ask you why you think I'm scum.
Because I derive meaning from the observation, but I'm certain nobody else will. It's just something that indicated you might be scum--and to say anything more confident would be blowing it out of proportion. I was merely making a note to myself, in case I see similar things as the game progresses, in which case, I might have a valid argument.

"I'm a compulsive liar no matter what team I play on, but I'm trying to get better about it."
I deem the balance of the votes is in favor of at least a single-guild claim.
The Gruul clan ability is Bloodrush. For every Gruul vote on a lynch wagon past the first two votes, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, etc. Gruul votes will have an additional extra vote cast.
So, if Gruul Clan Azrael and Axelrod are voting for obv-scum ZDS, two votes. If Gruul Clan member Zindabad comes along too, 4 votes. If hidden Gruul player Cyan enters the game and votes, 6 votes.
Thus, Gruul members need to be EXTREMELY cautious in placing their votes. It's entirely possible that this mechanic could result in unwanted rush lynches. I would recommend that Gruul clan members use FOSes only, until a lynch for the day is decided. And I would also recommend that Gruul clan members NOT use their extra voting power to override the town's majority choice.
AI you're not gruul? That's a surprise, I thought you would be from your first post.
As I said earlier a gruul-only claim is reasonable but I don't like the idea of a mass guild claim. If you're a member of another clan with a potentialy hazardous clam ability, you should probably say so.

Bleh, looks like wagon analysis this game is going to be shot.
Question - do the extra votes show up publicly on the vote count, or are they hidden? Is it like this:

I don't think every gruul member completely abstaining from voting is necessary. We'd lose other utilities of voting such as convenient record keeping and the aforementioned wagon analysis. That is, unless someone is willing to run a second votecount that counts FoS's. (Sure as hell isn't me)
For the record, I like my vote where it is right now

Total abstinence is the only truly safe way. #abstinenceworks #teenmoms #helphelpheispeeingonmyface
Protip: everyone in the Gruul clan should hop on the Sepiriel wagon.
1. Why do you want to see a speed-lynch on Sepiriel? We're barely out of RVS.
2. Why did you just mindlessly hop on the Sepiriel wagon? I know you're a better player than to cite "because everyone else is doing it".
I would like ZDS to expound on his post #22.
1. Speed lynches are exciting!
2. Nope, that's pretty much it. I mindlessly hopped on the Sepiriel wagon. In an ideal situation, I'd like a no lynch, but then I saw a wagon forming and couldn't pass up the opportunity to be part of it.

"I'm a compulsive liar no matter what team I play on, but I'm trying to get better about it."
Given that you've been playing for over a year, yes.
Quote from Sir Karn »
The way you worded this is weird. You didn't directly ask him to expound.
Not entirely substantial, but worth noting. This is how one scum tends to talk to another - indirectly.
I find your focus on hunting pairs instead of individuals troubling. Why did you give up talking to hans about his read on me?
After some thought, I think hans is town. From what I've experienced of his scum games, he tends to be much more cautious and concerned with playing it safe. In here, he's showing a blissful lack of self-awareness and while nearly everything he's saying is /wrong/, I don't really think any of it points to a malicious mindset. I really don't think he'd throw out "I think Proph is scum" then refuse to explain it - that just seems like an incredibly random move for scum to take.
So, it sounds like all the Gruul people are basically going to be outted by the vote counts, unless they are taking great pains in the way they vote to try and hide it.
I don't think we ought to just up and all claim Guilds immediately though, because it seems like there's probably going to be something in the game that punishes that. That said, I'm checking with the Mod. on something, but if the other members of my guild all share the same, what I'm loosely going to call a "trait," (it's not referenced as a "Clan Ability" in my role, so maybe it's just me) then we probably all need to come out with that up front as well. I might anyway.

So, anyway, I have something called "Immortal Servitude" which means my alignment isn't revealed when I die. It's pretty crappy. Maybe not as bad as being a Miller, but not good either. I really hate non-reveals.
If you also have that, I would encourage you to go ahead and say it now.

*Clap Clap*
has, why did you bother to make that post if you didn't intend to elaborate on your Proph read or follow up on the Sepiriel wagon? Active lurking?
As I said earlier a gruul-only claim is reasonable but I don't like the idea of a mass guild claim. If you're a member of another clan with a potentialy hazardous clam ability, you should probably say so.
I am gruul btw
Bleh, looks like wagon analysis this game is going to be shot.
Question - do the extra votes show up publicly on the vote count, or are they hidden? Is it like this:
ZDS (6) Azrael, Axelrod, zindabad, zindabad, Cyan, Cyan
..or:
ZDS (6) Azrael, Axelrod, zindabad, Cyan
What's interesting about it?

You were supposed to clap. *pouts*
Closer to the latter, more unclear version of it is what we're led to believe.
1. Why do you want to see a speed-lynch on Sepiriel? We're barely out of RVS.
2. Why did you just mindlessly hop on the Sepiriel wagon? I know you're a better player than to cite "because everyone else is doing it".
I would like ZDS to expound on his post #22.
For the record, I like my vote where it is right now

The way you worded this is weird. You didn't directly ask him to expound.
Not entirely substantial, but worth noting. This is how one scum tends to talk to another - indirectly.
also, this. Don't know where you're coming from, Proph.
Total abstinence is the only truly safe way. #abstinenceworks #teenmoms #helphelpheispeeingonmyface
1. Speed lynches are exciting!
2. Nope, that's pretty much it. I mindlessly hopped on the Sepiriel wagon. In an ideal situation, I'd like a no lynch, but then I saw a wagon forming and couldn't pass up the opportunity to be part of it.

Hans tell me why would you like a no lynch in an ideal situation
Given that you've been playing for over a year, yes.
It's a decidedly anti-town clan ability.
I'm gonna ignore everything hans says from here on out. If you are a vig, you should take him out.
Why is that troubling?
1.
2. Because he's useless.
I've got that.
