"I'm aggressive as town" is a meta-defense, not an actual explanation. If you were town, I would expect something like "I like to stir up emotions", "I like to analyze reactions", something like that.
Well, this certainly hit the ground running. Vote Prophylaxis.
Seen town!Proph a few times, the whole "I'm town!" in his first post seems out of character. Raring to get out of RVS, stumbling on his votes post RVS, not painting a pretty picture here.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Usually, you let your exemplary town play speak for itself, rather than having to announce your towniness.
This makes no sense. How are these things indicative of a scum mindset?
I'm raring to get out of RVS because prolonging it isn't useful, and I wanted to stir up discussion quickly.
I "stumbled on my vote" because there was a rule required unvotes before voting.
Normally, and based off of what you've told me as a mentor, you like to let RVS run its course, because it leads to slips or other information that can be used to actually start discussion.
instead, you "have gotten nothing" from the first page of RVS, yet seek to immediately end it?

Alright, let me walk you through my thought process.
I haven't played mafia in a month, and I have some more free time, so I /in to this game. A couple of days later, I get my (town) role PM, which was great because I love playing town, and I haven't played mafia in a month. Additionally, my last town games have.. not gone quite as well as I hoped for them to be (Unreal Tournament + couple of offsite games) and I'm seeking to improve myself this game. Thus, this is why I'm racing to get the game started and to provoke as many reactions as I can.
Reading our mentor chat, this is what I said:
Quote from Prophylaxis »
The way I generally like to approach the early game is to analyze RVS, and vote based on that. People who vote a player who isn't in the game, players who vote no lynch, players whose RVS votes are "strange" are all things I vote for.
After that, I watch how the game develops with me bulldogging and tunneling onto those people, and I can shift onto a reaction I didn't like, or continue tunneling that person - hunting based on RVS tells can snag a fair number of scum.
Probably the best game where scum outed themselves straight out of RVS - three scum were basically caught out of RVS, I just didn't *push* on it.
I think this is true for this game. I read page one of RVS and got *nothing* out of it, and when KamikazeArchon voted Iso I pushed Kamikaze. I don't see anything in here that says that I like to have RVS "run its course".
He's also now voting his own meta in an attempt to defend himself, and if you can cite your own meta as a defense, you know enough to (try to) imitate it and that makes that portion of your meta null. But his attempt at trying to make himself look town by it is scummy.

Was about to ask what KA's vote of Iso stood out to you, then I remembered Iso is the *mod* this game, not a player. This changes things considerably.

I've still got my eye on you, but things make considerably more sense now.

@Proph: I hardly call 4 hours RVS going on for a while. Hell, not even everyone has checked in by my count. I can certainly see why you voted him (He voted for the mod as opposed to a player,) but it seems you are trying to over explain your reasoning.
Dislike the bolded. Tan throws a brief swipe at Proph, while apparently supporting his reason for voting for Kamikaze (which he never addressed himself btw), and then shifts attention and a vote over to Rodemy.
@Tanarin As for overexplaining my reasoning: After a recent experiment which failed (Unreal Tournament), for this game I'm going to try and make my mindset and thought process as clear as possible. If that means overexplaining a bit, then fine.
I don't like that you're complaining about the lack of content in RVS. The degree with which you need something to attack looks terrible.
I'm not voting you because of the number of people already on your wagon, mostly from RVS.
Why does the degree about which I need something to attack look bad? I was pretty bored since the RVS posts on the first page weren't anything I could question/interrogate, and I'm used to RVSes where I can jump on someone immediately and provoke reactions. (Winterfell, Apocalypse, Porcelain Waltz).
Why would you take into consideration the number of people on my wagon? I have three votes on me, which is pretty far off from the 9 required to lynch. Plus, I welcome votes on me since I can pick apart the scum on the wagon later and analyze the wagon later in the game.
Because it looks like you need to have something to do. You also are complaining about an RVS that was 4 hours in on a Sunday evening. Basically, the fact that you complained about the lack of attackable RVS content is ludicrous. Your second part here is also pretty barf. I keep racking my brain on this, though, and it doesn't look like something you'd do as scum, at least not based on your meta. Karn's point on you using a meta defense making that part of your meta null is on point, but I still need to see more content from you.

Im on my phone so the quoting system sucks. To answer questions:
Proph voted on p1. But i didnt question killjoy JUST because he didnt vote.it was his post saying he was going vla with no other imput. Or a vote. I was wonderig if this was normal for him.
Proph on the other hand contradicted himself with a comment about thete being nothing of use, and then made a non rvs vote.

Before KamikazeArchon's post, I scanned the first page for anything I could attack because RVS has been going on for a while, and I wanted to end it. I came up with nothing since everyone's RVS posts were so light on words/content. I then saw KamikazeArchon's RVS post and was happy to see something I could push to end RVS.
What do you see that indicates a scum mindset in that post? I wanted to get the game moving, so I asked a question to everyone else and then voted KamikazeArchon.
So sorry for the multiposts

I was about to ask him why he voted Kamikaze when I realized what Kami had actually done.
Proph loves catching people on screwing up RVS by voting non-entities (like the mod). That means that he wasn't so much raring to get out of RVS as he had actually picked up on something. Also makes his play following that post make more sense, seems less like stumbling.
As I said, I still have my eye on him because of the whole "I'm Town!" thing and the fact that he's totally aware of his meta so feasibly *could* be playing to it, but I'm feeling a lot better about him than I was before realizing the entirety of the situation.

If someone is baiting, then I am inclined to believe that person is more likely Town than Scum. And yet you're tempted by it....
His page three posts seemed so blatantly ignorant of the circumstance that I really really wanted to vote him for it. It meant, yes, I didn't find them particularly 'scummy', but worthy of note anyways in a way that was curious.
If you noticed, I said the same thing about Proph too.
You acknowledge that you're bad and recognize it, but then make a bold statement about Proph.
What makes you so certain that Proph is not likely to be Scum?
His cantor, mostly. His attitude makes sense given the outside context(he really hasn't done anything mafia-ish lately, and he likes being town), and the aggro start is actually something of a trademark of Prophylaxis' play that most people always ignore. Obviously, I'm not ready to declare PROPHYLAXIS IS TOWN 100% BE MY MASON, but I do find it highly unlikely he is scum at the moment.

proph's town tho
He's had to say "I'm town" "Excited I rolled town" "super happy I'm town" almost half a dozen times already by page three.
His wording choice of "I found nothing I could attack in this rvs" is rather scummy.
He is now being quite defensive while continually citing "I'm excited town" as a defense.
