Thoughts from Cythare, paraphrased (and put from my perspective). these were posted on the 7th, and I've been procrastinating, a lot. didn't realize deadline was in 5 hours.
Cythare doesn't like DCIII's disliking of me(Niv) because he(Cythere) should have known better. he says his(cythere) play in Xymande was terrible and he's more or less forgotten it. but he guesses DCIII is right about it and Deus Ex. Still, he(DCIII) thinks I(niv) may be scum because he(Cythere) didn't think he was scum? I don't like it.
Anyways, he started by looking at who dkingsland interacted with and then who interacted with him (aside from dead town). It seems like the best place to start, and then he said he might review interactions with LnGrrrR and maybe SNL,, but didn't because he didn't think there was as much to be gleaned there
also of not, I have not read the game Deus Ex that is mentioned repeatedly.
dkingsland:
-#40: SNL is town. Cythere already feels that c8/Wildfire is town, but this helps that.
-#88: DKL is pushing c808 = town hard in this post and also begins by budding fulcrum in this post, but by the end of it he is attacking him, and for this, fulcrum is probably town.
-#89: N/A
-#102: this post only defends c808/Wildfire as town. nothing to be gained.
-#153: N/A interaction wise, however this is when cythere started to suspect DKL
-#154: Passively attacks HookerPunch, saying that he would vote him if not for Deus Ex. then goes straight for SNL and then places his vote on him. This read to cythare like potential distancing. He(dkl) wants to say he(dkl) doesn't like HP's low content and uses the "threat" of a vote to do it, but the about face switch to SNL clearly indicates that the first part is a hollow threat. he feels that this is more likely to be a weak bus than an attack on two townies. cythere doesn't think that he can make anything of the dkl response to hansanator.
-#167: Lame parroting of DCIII. This makes him think DCIII is more likley town from this
-#181: This post sends red flags up on hansanator for me. Hansanator has been pretty low-content, and he asks 1 person (dkingsland) about 1 other person (Kosakosa). See #171.
-#201: Defends me (niv) to Kosakosa, but cythere thinks this is fine, since dkl used actual reasoning instead of vague statements. We already know LnGrrrR is town so that part is null as is the response to c808
-#208: N/A - only interacts with another dead player
-#240: Defends KoolKoal from DCIII. but Cythere doesn't think this says anything indictive about koal's alignment.
-#255: After #240, dkingsland leaves a pathway to lynching Kool though. as such, cythere thinks Kool is town. he also thinks that the noncommittal statement he (dkl) has about hans might indicate that hans could be scum.
-#267: Re: 263, cythere becomes more sure that hans is scum. Rather than defend himself(dkl) for lurking, he answers another question regarding someone else's lurking and says it's not a tell. while cythere agrees with the dkl statement, he never responds to #267 (or #240).
-#354: Nothing telling to cythere here.
-#364: N/A
-#378: dkl mostly talks about theory and begins backpedaling regarding SNL. It doesn't change cythere's opinion on fulcrum.
-#429: dkl Votes KoolKoal having not really discussed him at all since the backdoor comment (#255). Defends me again.
-#553: N/A, another PTAP.
-#654: Another PTAP. both irrelevant
-#658: Last post. Votes Kool again (after vote reset). he's (cy) curious if this might be distancing, but he doesn't think so.
I assume we're technically in Twilight now, given that we're post the deadline. Waiting on the flip scene and then we should have some speculating to do.

Yeah, not sure how this works with extended twilight. Hoping that Cantrip's lack of getting us anything is because we got him. Thoughts after he flips.
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
I shot toDay rather than waiting because I am pretty sure we don't have a doc based on HP's game theorizing. I also did not realize that if I did shoot, a no lynch would be the best choice. If I had, I obviously would have just sat on my hands until LyLo or we failed to agree on a lynch, but I'm still very bad at understanding gamestates.

It seems very likely that you shot scum, so it was a good use of the ability. If you waited, you ran the risk of getting NKed before you got a chance to shoot.
Yeah. If there is a doc, we kind of need him protecting Fulcrum, so you probably wouldn't have lived the night anyways after claiming if you hadn't shot.

The day has ended in No Lynch. I apologise for the lack of a flavour scene — packing and getting ready for my flight to Seattle was wonky today and ate my time up. A proper flavour scene for Cantripmancer's death will be provided Thursday after I return, as well as the Day 3 opening flavour.
Cantripmancer has died from poison. His role PM is as follows [Note: There is an error as written that contradicts with itself re: whether or not Generic/Cantrip can use the Motorised Patriot during the NK. The answer is yes, and I apologise for the oversight in wording]:
Welcome to BioShock Mafia, Generic/Cantripmancer!
You are Guest 11
True Identity: Elizabeth, Mafia Savant
Flavour:
As you were out walking in the city, a strange man handed you the following letter:
I know what you did last summer. Unless you want it to be publicly known, come to Finkton tonight.
Role: Jack of All Trades
Abilities:
Night Kill: Once per Night, you, Booker DeWitt, and <redacted> may submit the name of an agreed upon player to iRebel, as well as an agreement indicating which of you is performing the kill. You not may perform the Night Kill and open a tear, use Plasmid/Vigor Upgrade, or use a Plasmid/Vigor at Night.
Plasmid/Vigor Upgrade: Once per game, at Night, you may upgrade either your Plasmid or Vigor to a new, more powerful version. You may not use Plasmid/Vigor Upgrade and open a tear or use a Plasmid/Vigor, or perform the Night Kill in the same Night. (Plasmid/Vigor Upgrade resolves upon activation).
Vote: You may Vote during the Day.
Passive Ability:
Night Talk with Booker DeWitt and <redacted>: You may talk at Night with Booker DeWitt and <redacted>
Starting Tear, Plasmid, and Vigor:
Tear: Motorised Patriot: One during the game, at Night, when you are performing the Night Kill, you may open a tear and summon a Motorised Patriot. If you do, the Motorised Patriot will kill the target twice.
Plasmid: Winter Blast: Once during the game, at Night, you may inject yourself with the Winter Blast Plasmid and select target player. If you do, you will give them the cold shoulder, preventing them from performing a Night action. You may upgrade this to the Old Man Winter Plasmid.
Vigor: Possession: Once during the game, at Night, you may drink the Possession Vigor. If you do and you are investigated that Night, you will persuade them you are innocent. There is a 33% chance that Possession will fail. You may upgrade this to Possession's Aid.
Available Upgrades:
Plasmid: Old Man Winter: Once per game, during the Night, you may inject yourself with the Old Man Winter plasmid. If you do, a frigid winter storm will rage on, causing whoever performed a Night action to contract hypothermia. Players who contract hypothermia will be too ill to perform Night actions the following Night (this does not prevent you, Booker DeWitt, or <redacted> from performing the Night kill).
Possession's Aid: One per game, during the Night, you may select target player. If you do, they will become possessed for the duration of the Night and reveal their role to you. If they are able to perform a Night action, you may select their target (this resolves upon activation).
Win Condition: You win when half the living players are Mafia, even if you are dead.

Fulcrum's info clears Kosa and Cantrip's flip cleared Kool, so we're down to DCIII, Niv and HP as possible scum. I'm still happy with an HP lynch. vote HookerPunch
It should be obvious, considering our two flip's role names.
I'll just say it cuz even if I get modkilled here, town wants me dead anyway.
Why is flavorclaiming banned? I suspect it's due to the game being easily broken via flavorclaim. or iRebel has some screwed up views on how mafia should be played(here's a modtip--when you introduce flavor to a game, it becomes a valid tool for gameplay, don't take hardline approaches, that's silly and useless). Anyways, where I'm going with this is that Booker and Elizabeth were the scum, and all the townies so far are from Rapture. Now, think of who, exactly, would have a perfectly flavorful role like being able to talk to an outside-the-game player? Well, the Lutece twins. Who are from Columbia. And, moreso, they are strictly allies with Booker and Elizabeth. Ergo...
That's really weak.
First of all, giving "modtips" while in an active game seems somewhat rude.
To your actual content: the mod has "employed safeguards" against flavor/mod gaming. The simplest such safeguard is to have most people follow a pattern, but then have one or two that just don't fit. And it would be impossible for other living players to confirm/deny any particular pattern without potentially breaking the rules of the game by revealing their own flavor.
I highly doubt HP is scum because of earlier interactions with gentrip.
Despite the fact that its flavor gaming, and I hate it, HP's theory makes some sense. Niv's role would also make more sense if he only claimed a piece of it than if he's truthful. Hmm.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
I feel like Cantrip would have said he was town in that frustration post if he was.
I'm thinking we let Cantrip post his thoughts and then no lynch. I'd like to analyze his flip and, if we were wrong and we're wrong again, that will put us in mylo tomorrow. If we were wrong but don't lynch, that would still give us a mislynch to play with after we know his flip for certain. I'd rather have that information available when we make the decision as Cantrip's alignment will influence my remaining reads (I'm thinking HP and Cantrip aren't scum together, for example).
If we're right, then we're in good shape anyway. Thoughts?
Pretty sure we can just win through PoE at this point so I don't mind saying. I'm the Jailer and I jailed Kamikazee last night. If fulcrum tracked Kosa than we can eliminate him as a suspect - I jailed Kamikazee who couldn't have killed anyone with only one scum left so that's a clear. So HP is the only other vanilla which is why the vote. It's really probably between he and Niv - though I jailed Niv N1 and the kill still happened, though it's possible that Generic did it.
Basically, if I announce who I plan to jail moving forward prior, the scum either have to No Kill and lose their killing ability for the night and we lynch that person the next day, or have to kill someone and we get another clear.
So, we currently look like this via the eyes of DCIII:
Me - jailer
Kosa - tracked, clear
Kamikazee - jailed, clear
KoolKoal - day poisoner - poisoned Generic
fulcrum - claimed investigatory
Niv - talks to Cythare, didn't kill N1 via jail and fulcrum (would like to jail again if lynch is incorrect)
So if fulcrum is town (ack), it's only a matter of her watching you for us to play the "follow the Jailer" game plan and win. If she is scum, it probably will become evident before LyLo.
I'd prefer Niv considering that he was under pressure day 1 so it would be logical for Gen to perform the kill. Heck, for all we know Cythare could be performing the actions for him (though that sounds a bit OP to dodge jailings and investigations).
HP and Gen are unlikely scum together because Gen's attitude toward HP was "buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy, etc." Plus there's the "gambit" that HP used to "catch" DCIII and Gen's response to it.

Cantrip: Why is Niv's self-vote different than hookerpunch's self-vote?
Is that what that was? I couldn't figure it out. It sounded like she(?) was flavor-claiming to be Natirasha (which sounded like she was violating Rule 00, but I knew that couldn't be the case because she didn't get modkilled). That's why I was asking why she was flavor-claiming (which she hasn't responded to).
I'm around. gonna only have so much time today, so, just quickly, I follow DCIII's thinking.
and if Fulcrum is scum, we can PoE her tommorrow. and if on some off chance that DCIII is scum gambiting here, we can PoE him later too. we still have 3 lynches with the scum kill yesterday.
Fulcrum, you still have watcher and Voyeur left, correct?
Vote Hooker.
to be completly honest though, I really don't care if you guys lynch me either. I'm spread really thin right now, and there's no way we can lose this game at this point. just figure out the PoE and don't let a scum DCIII or fulcrum win it.
Let's figure out the PoE now, including worst-case scenarios.
We can risk a small amount of modgaming at this point. Specifically, we know for sure that some kind of town protective role must exist, because of the Tear strongman ability on Elizabeth. The Jailer fits that, and is the only one that fits that. I am willing to accept this as a mechanical clear of DC3.
I still have a very strong town read on Fulcrum. But let's entertain the possibility that she could be scum - we don't have any mechanical clear on her.
We know Kosa must be town - if he's scum, then Fulcrum is town, is telling the truth, and would have seen him kill.
Kool daykilled scum, in a situation where he could have easily chosen a town target. That behaviorally clears him as town, but is not technically a complete mechanical clear.
DC3 has cleared me.
HP is uncleared.
Niv is uncleared.
1. Suppose we lynch HP (or Niv; they're interchangeable here) today. If that one is scum, we win. If not:
2. DC3 Jails the other one, let's say Niv. If there is a night kill, go to 3a. If not, go to 3b.
3a. We know Niv is clear. We're down to the behaviorally clear targets: fulcrum and Kool. We also have 5 people alive. We have time to lynch both - or, if DC3 was not the NK, to lynch one and jail the other.
3b. We are down to 6 and lynch Niv. If he's scum, we win. If not:
4. We're in a similar situation to 3a, except we have 5 people alive going into Night, one of which must be DC3. We have DC3 jail fulcrum. If there is an NK, go to 4a. If not, go to 4b.
4a. Lynch Kool and win.
4b. Lynch Fulcrum. If she's scum, we win. If not:
5. We're in a similar situation to 4, except we have 4 people alive going into Night, one of which is still DC3. DC3 jails Kool.
6. Lynch Kool and win.
So yeah. So long as DC3 is in fact the Jailer, we win, barring extremely strange role shenanigans by scum. It doesn't even matter what fulcrum does (although she might as well watch DC3).
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
if fulcrum watches dciii tonight, and gets back to us, it confirms DCIII tonight. and if she's the nightkill at some point, we can just lynch DCIII in PoE in fulcrum's place. your plan is pretty foolproof imo, kami.
I don't think it really matters because I think we're good - but I think I prefer HP today. In Winterfell HP didn't have concern with being a PoE target and does here. I think Niv would have put more effort into staving off his lynch if it was him.
My preference is to lynch HP, jail Niv, and then lynch Niv tomorrow if wrong.
Waiting for deadline it is, then.
Cythare doesn't like DCIII's disliking of me(Niv) because he(Cythere) should have known better. he says his(cythere) play in Xymande was terrible and he's more or less forgotten it. but he guesses DCIII is right about it and Deus Ex. Either way, we're all gonna burn
[darkorange]Mod:[/darkorange] Niv hasn't posted in 6 days. Can we get a prod?
Either way, we're all gonna burn
I'm good with lynching Niv today and jailing HP. KoolKoal makes a good point about the Gen buddying and I was mostly on Hp because vanilla.

Will vote Niv when we are ready. Fulcrum should watch me tonight.

and if Fulcrum is scum, we can PoE her tommorrow. and if on some off chance that DCIII is scum gambiting here, we can PoE him later too. we still have 3 lynches with the scum kill yesterday.
Fulcrum, you still have watcher and Voyeur left, correct?
Vote Hooker.

Many thanks to Tanarin for handling the game whilst I was attending a wedding.

My preference is to lynch HP, jail Niv, and then lynch Niv tomorrow if wrong.
