Unless I kill someone unkillable toNight, yeh, you lost
I'm glad that I managed to get the case out before the hammer; I was starting to feel bad about how I was winning this.
It's hard to keep activity up when you see town getting convinced other town is scum without needing to interfere.
The CC was because he really did claim my rolename. I figured that Arian couldn't win the game anymore without me being alive: my flip would be his downfall.
And I had nothing safe left to claim when he stole my role: if I claimed Rickon, I would die when he flipped. (we had no safeclaims)
So the smartest thing to do seemed to just CC him, take the towncred and move on.
DCIII can confess to how long I have struggled with that decision. It's completely against my nature to bus someone like that.
Megs: The mistake you thought I made and that gave you townvibes wasn't a mistake: we were massclaiming and my buddy was still alive and unclaimed (and the cop wasn't outed yet). I was trying to use my built up towncred to prevent him from having to come up with good flavor for Hodor.
Like you seem to know well, I don't easily make mistakes as scum and can do dumb stuff as town.
My role had nothing to do with flavorstuff; I am a Godfather with a 1-shot message and a 1-shot unblockable ninja kill.
Pretty much what Killjoy called me at some point
When the mod posts the scumchat, I urge you to read the Bran kill flavor. That broke my heart :')
I almost thought I lost when I saw you noticing where my read of the game stopped.
I did in fact read the whole game; I just pretended not to have seen the claim that I couldn't ignore if I did see it.
The Great Hall completely overshadowed the size of their remaining group, but did not seem to do their plight justice. The weight of The North, the justice and vengeance of Lord Eddard, the many deaths of their friends and family, some tragic, some tragically necessary… lay squarely on their shoulders.
“Why did you say that you came up from Neck, again?” Prophylaxis asked Sneakyhomunculus.
“My father sent us up to protect you, to protect Winterfell! We were loyal servants to Lord Eddard and now to House Stark… and this is what happened to Jojen. Look at us!” Sneakyhomunculus practically wept in a shrill voice.
“It’s the timing,” said Megiddo, “things changed shortly after you got here. Who are the letters to? Who has you in their purse strings?”
“No one! I’m here for house honor, for family, for The North!”
Prophylaxis and Megiddo turned their eyes to Rhand who sat motionless, staring ahead. Finally, “It’s the only explanation. It’s time,” Rhand nodded at Megiddo.
Megiddo and Prophylaxis grabbed Sneakyhomunculus by both arms and dragged her out into the courtyard. She did not struggle or fight, simply closing her eyes in resignation. She looked up at the sky and closed her eyes, saying a prayer. When she opened them, she was in the center of the city, the godswood and Great Keep in the distance. “It’s such a pity,” she said without anger. “This is how the North falls… not with a grand stand, but with a quiet whisper.”
Prophylaxis gently pushed her head forward and backed away while Megiddo stepped forward, reluctant but assured. “He who passes the sentence should swing the sword.” Without wanting to prolong it further, he quickly raised his sword and brought it down cleanly, ending the days of Sneakyhomunculus she was:
Meera Reed - Town Vanilla
And almost immediately, Megiddo felt the sharp steel bite his neck, pushing through his jugular. He immediately went to his knees, spluttering, coughing blood, it was all he could do to pitch himself on his back as he fell forward, looking his mother in the eyes one last time before he faded to dark. Her eyes looked empty too.
Megiddo has been end gamed and is dead, he was:
Lord Robb Stark - Town 1-Shot Watcher

Restless Night: One time at Night you may PM me the name of a player. You will watch that player to see if they are targeted and by whom that night.
“It was you the whole time.” Muttered Prophylaxis, drawing his sword. “Why would you do this to your family?”
“Do you think it was easy?” Rhand suddenly came alive, a frenzy in her eyes. “You saw all of them, Theon, hellbent on avenging their father. It’s a losing battle. They have no hope against the might of the Iron Throne and the gold of Casterly Rock. Do you think I could have reasoned with Robb? No. No! He was so much like Ned… and look where that got him, damn him! Rickon was our only hope! He was the only one young enough to mold, the only one who could be loyal to King Joffrey, the only one the Lannisters wouldn’t hang from the rafters for treason. I promised… I promised Ned that a Stark would always sit the Throne in Winterfell, that his son, that our sons would rule throughout the years just as his father and grandfather, all the way back to Bran the Builder. And I’ll cut the throats of anyone in the Seven Kingdoms, do whatever it takes to make sure that happens!!!”
“But you failed. You killed them all…”
Catelyn looked down at Robb’s motionless body, looked around at the walls of Winterfell, and finally, looked Theon Greyjoy square in the eyes. She had never liked him in the past, the look on his face was always as if he was in on some joke that none of the rest of the world knew. He had been taken captive and held by Ned ever since the quashed rebellion of the Iron Islands, but he had been raised among their sons, he was a Northerner and, most of all, he was hungry for power. “No, Theon, you are my son now. Ned and I raised you, haven’t we? Treated you as one of our own… and yet, you have no blood ties, none of this thirst for vengeance. Why would you, the new Lord of Winterfell, want to raise arms against the gracious Lannisters?”
A loud horn sounded in the distance, yet not far off by a long shot… the slow din of marching feet and clamoring armor started to become audible in the background.
“Will you join me, Theon? Son?” Catelyn extended her hand lovingly, clouding her mind, seeing Robb’s face in his. This was her son, this had always been her son.
And without saying a word, Theon reached out and took it. This land was his now.
Catelyn nodded, feeling a glimpse of happiness and hope for the first time in months, “then open the East Gate, I will take the South.”
Before sundown, the interior of Winterfell was a sea of crimson and gold armor, and Lannister men dined in the Great Hall, toasting the health of the new Lord of Winterfell, Theon Greyjoy Stark. At his side, smiling radiantly but with dead eyes, was Lady Catelyn.
Prophylaxis has been endgamed he was:

GAME OVER – MAFIA WIN (Rhand, ITF, Arianrhod)

Catelyn Stark
Theon Greyjoy Stark
You decide the next chapter in the story – please vote (not all chapters are unlocked):
The Iron Islands
The Eyrie
The Neck
The Wall
Dragonstone
The Dothraki Sea
Thanks, Sneaky. It was fun to write... the thing I enjoyed the most is that the ending was going to be completely different depending on the outcome. Rickon as a 6 year old king... Hodor standing alone in the middle of the courtyard with just dead bodies around him... Robb Stark ambushing the Lannisters, Bran becoming King... Jon having to go back and infiltrate The Wall.
This was a cool ending, though - Catelyn living and appealing to Theon's thirst for power and glory. Good way for the story to start. More votes on the next chapter please!
HP: I tried to crush speculation on the 1for1 with the flavor wifom in my claim.
I wanted to create the idea that scum had something good to gain from knowing who Catelyn Stark was.
Giving the RBer a Saint kill is a way to balance out the mafia losing their only real power role, but an extra kill for the mafia in a mini is very, very powerful. Depending on when it happens and who hammers, it could either help keep the mafia from being blown out or completely devastate the town.
Hm
EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to pop in with a cryptic comment and nothing else. This was an enjoyable read in places -- hats off to Rhand for that performance. And great flavor too, DCIII.
I think one of the problems was that the iRebel slot was basically V/LA through Day 1, and most of the game was played through Day 1. Little to no analysis was performed through Days 2-5 - it was basically poisoned PoE at that point, which allowed Rhand to coast with little suspicion.
Can anyone tell me why I was run up Day 1? I still don't understand why I was run up.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
Did everyone listen to the music the entire time they were playing like I asked? (Say yes)
Set up:
iRebel you are:
Catelyn Stark - Mafia Lady of the House
“I would gladly butcher every horse in Winterfell with my own hands if it would open (his) eyes, do you understand that? Do you?”
Hysteric at the news of the loss of your beloved husband, your mind was immediately consumed with fear. Both of your daughters are captives of the Lannisters and, knowing their ruthless cunning, you are aware that they will not rest until their enemies are crushed beneath them. You’ve heard the songs about Tywin Lannister and his host showing no mercy throughout the halls of Castamere when they rebelled against Casterly Rock. Robb is your son and you know that he will never yield in his pursuit of revenge for his father, and you know that the Lannisters know this.
So, out of fear of seeing your entire family killed as traitors, you have been in contact with King’s Landing and reached an agreement to open the doors of Winterfell to the Lannister host at night, and allow them to ransack the city, eliminating any and everyone who would carry the banner for Ned Stark, including your sons – save Rickon. Rickon is too young and impressionable to fully understand what happened with your husband. You have the ability to shape his view on things. His father was a traitor who lost himself in the south and attempted to take the throne for himself. His brothers were too blind to see that and shamed their house as a result – at least that’s what you’ll tell him.
In exchange, Rickon will be married to Princess Myrcella of house Lannister and be allowed to live and rule. The Lannisters know that the north remembers, and they are much more likely to keep it loyal to King Joffrey with a Stark in Winterfell. After all, there must always be a Stark in Winterfell. Additionally, Sansa will be wed to Joffrey himself and Arya will be allowed to live and find a noble and suitable partner. In fact, house Stark will be a cherished and celebrated house throughout all of the land under this plan… and you, you might even be able to suppress your guilt and grief with the knowledge that you saved the lives of your youngest child and daughters and restored your beloved’s name to glory. What more could Ned expect of you? No, you are determined to make this work, at ANY cost, the loss of a few, no matter how close, is better than the loss of everything. You cannot bare the thought of dying childless and alone.
Fortunately for you, you are the Lady of Winterfell and are in mourning, so virtually nothing you do arouses suspicion. Rickon will listen to anything you say and is a perfect way to distract and occupy anyone who might stumble onto your plans. You have also taken the local, and massive, stable boy, Hodor under your wing. He has the mind of a child, unquestioningly trusts you, and in and of himself is a powerful force of nature. In fact, you see no way that either of your accomplices can compromise you as Rickon is only four and Hodor can only say the word, “Hodor.”
Now that some oaf shot your raven out of the sky, your plan has been discovered and the entire castle is on edge. You know that your only chance is to whittle away those who could expose you, until you have enough numbers and leverage to execute your plan…

Arianrhod you are:
Rickon Stark – Mafia Roleblocker + Saint
“Shaggydog!”
Only four years old, you have neither the emotional maturity nor perspective to cope with the recent tragic events in your life. You know this: your father is dead and your mother has assured you that he brought this on himself. Your father went south and changed… he became corrupted with greed and turned on the good King.
You feel almost noting but sadness, confusion, and anger and so, naturally, you gravitate toward your mother. She is your sole source of comfort – she and your direwolf, Shaggydog.
Fortunately, your mother assures you that you have been a very good boy throughout all of this and that very soon, the King’s army will come and set things right for the household. Even more exciting, you will one day be the Lord of Winterfell… all you have to do is continue to be a good boy and listen to your mother.
At times, this includes playing with others – even very late at night, crying and throwing tantrums (this isn’t hard for you… all you have to do is think of how evil your father was), and sometimes even letting Shaggydog roughhouse with others. Above all things, you know that when the King’s army comes calling, you definitely have to let them in.

“Hodor! Hodor! Hodor!”
As a seven feet tall grown man with the IQ of a 5 year old only capable of saying the word “Hodor,” you are very impressionable and loyal to the Starks who have been kind to your family over the years. You aren’t sure why, but you understand that times are tough and will do absolutely anything to support Lady Catelyn, whom you trust completely.

“When we speak of the morrow nothing is ever certain.”
Master of Arms at Winterfell, you are aghast to hear that there is a treasonous plot to overthrow the city in the wake of Lord Eddard’s execution. You have been here throughout, training all of Lord Stark’s children at arms. Never having a son of your own, you fully intend to treat Ned’s with the service and loyalty that he would.

Jon Snow, “The Bastard of Winterfell” – Town Cop
“We look up at the same stars, and see such different things.”
What’s the place of a bastard among a noble house. Your father, Lord Eddard, always cared for you, raised you, taught you to hunt and fight, treated you as an equal among your half-brothers within the family, and yet… you were still always kept at a distance. You sat among the commoners during large gatherings, you were not able to carry the name Stark. There was no ability for you to forge your own path, your own greatness in Winterfell, so you went to The Wall, to defend the border from the north like your Uncle Benjen. There a man could rise from the most feeble beginnings to command armies and rule.
Until you heard the news. Your father’s death was one thing, but among all of the riff raff and roustabouts that file their way into the ranks of the Night’s Watch, you caught wind of a plan to overthrow Winterfell while it was in turmoil. While abandonment of your post is to be considered treason, in fact, you watched your father behead a man for such things, you could not let yourself sit idly on your hands while your entire family was in danger. You have snuck back to Winterfell where, unbeknownst to those around you, you have free reign to explore and try to get to the bottom of this treason yourself.

Town Maester and eternal servant to the Stark family, you have approached the news of Lord Eddard’s death with an approach of duty and determination. You were the one to deliver all of the Stark children into this world and you can think of nothing worse than a world where a Stark does not rule in Winterfell. Still loyally serving Eddard’s memory, you vow to do whatever you can to uncover this plot against your home.

“In the dark of night the salt sea will flow over these walls. I saw the dead, bloated and drowned.”
Only 13 years of age, your greensight or, ability to see into the future through dreams, has given you a gravity and maturity far beyond your years. Your father, Lord Howland Reed, was one of Eddard Stark’s most loyal supporters and was with him at The Tower of Joy when he rescued his sister Lyanna from the Targaryens. Upon hearing one of your dreams and learning of Eddard Stark’s death, your father sent you to support and protect Winterfell. “Stark is grey and Greyjoy's black, but it seems we're both windy.”
When Lord Eddard Stark put an end to your father’s rebellion, he took you as his steward and hostage to ensure leverage over Lord Balon Greyjoy and the Iron Islands. Though technically a prisoner and held against your will, Eddard included you with the family and the others treated you as a sibling. You have heard of a plan of treason to overthrow Winterfell and know that you will be among the chief suspects due to your heritage and history, but you feel a kindness to the Starks and want nothing more than to help put an end to this plot.

Osha of the Free Folk – Town 2-Shot Vigilante
“Who do you think sends the wind, if not the gods?”
Once a wildling, driven south of the wall from fear of the Others, you and your companions ambushed the Stark children, not knowing who they were. You were the sole survivor of the incident and taken captive by the Stark family. With dramatically different customs and rituals, you were surprised at the respect and humanity with which the nobles treated you. While you were forced to work, they gave you shelter, food, and trust. You were not a savage to them, you were a lost soul who was deserving of every kindness that you did not intend to give them that fateful day in the forest. You have grown accustomed, even fond of your life in Winterfell, hardly feeling as a captive at all, free to worship the Old Gods and to start a new life with honor as a cause you now desire.
That being said, yours is still wildling blood, and when you heard the news that your lord was beheaded on accusations of treason, you did not handle that… well. This was the man who gave you your life back, gave you a second chance, and treated you with humanity. You will avenge his honor and protect his home, that which he cherished. You will not hesitate to take matters into your own, bloody, hands to do so, either.

“The roots of the trees grow deep, and under the ground the Kings of Winter sit their thrones. So long as those remained, Winterfell remained. It was not dead, just broken. Like me. . .I'm not dead either”
They say that cats have nine lives… so you must be 1/3rd cat, 2/3rds wolf. As a seven year old boy and second son of Eddard Stark, you have already needed this too often. Having already survived your fall from the tallest tower in Winterfell, you were crippled and have to be carried throughout the castle. Bed-ridden and frustrated at your inability to carry arms to avenge your father, you instead have learned to hone your warg ability, to see through the eyes of animals and even to act through them. This allows you to keep vigilant throughout the troubled nights and to anticipate and avoid any imminent danger. Your father was the most honorable man that you know and you’ve spent your life trying to emulate his values. You will stop at nothing to avenge him and to uncover the plot to destroy Winterfell.
Abilities:

Lord Robb Stark, “The Young Wolf” – Town 1-shot Watcher
“I have won every battle, yet somehow I'm losing the war.”
With your father’s death, you are now the Lord of Winterfell. At only 16, you are still prone to the impulsive nature of youth, but Eddard has trained you well in the practice of war and you have learned well. A cunning battle tactician, you were in the process of raising your banners and marching south for vengeance and to ensure that no usurpers sat the Iron Throne when this plot, so close to home, was discovered. You swear to yourself that, as soon as you have found and dealt with the traitors in your midst, you will resume your quest to honor the name of Stark and make the Lannisters rue the day that they labeled him traitor. It is all that you can do to overcome your own grief, to focus single-mindedly on easing the mind of the loved ones around you by taking the honorable course of action.

So, firstly - it's really weird that the sign-up thread got deleted (no one knows what happened to it). In there, it said that the game was balanced but had the potential to be swingy due to the powerful nature of some of the roles. I know that Meg referenced that in thread at some point, but I wish that had been up and available as a resource if anyone had wanted to check it.
I came up with the idea for the game and this series based on Catelyn's character thinking what if she just went the other direction when Ned died and gave into her fear so much that she was willing to do horrible things to ensure that at least one of her children would be saved - so that naturally made Rickon her ally and Hodor was picked because he was harmless enough in the stories but the idea is that he trusts the Starks and would do what they said/be treated like a weapon.
The overall design of the game was built around Catelyn's role (no one suspecting her as she was their mother and Ned's widow), Rickon's role, and Bran's role... and everything else was designed to try to give each side an answer to what the other side was doing. I wanted there to be a decent number of vanillas but I wanted some of the PRs to be pretty robust.
Rickon's role was the most controversial and I probably won't be using it in future game because of the bad feels of being correct and being "punished" for it. I saw it as an interesting strategic piece that would force the scum team to make some difficult decisions. I wanted to give them an extra kill because of Bran's role (more on that later) and also because the Town had a lot of investigatory power, but I didn't want them to be able to control who they killed directly. The role also required that one of their teammates die, and it required that it be their roleblocker, who was really the main PR they had that could affect the game directly (other than Rhand's one shot). So the choice would be how to play it. How can you manipulate certain people to hammer? How quickly do you bus? My theory was that the role would cause scum to be overly bus happy (and I was right) as I thought that Arian ended up taking unnecessary pressure early from ITF and iRebel (who made up 2/5ths of his wagon when he was forced to claim. It was a double-edged sword. To fight this role, the Town had two shots of a Vig (which happened to go down with the Saint), that could have avoided the Saint kill.
That role was in response to fulcrum's role which was probably the most powerful in the game, IMO. The 1-shot bulletproof who could watch herself had the potential to both catch scum AND prevent the NK in one fell-swoop, which really would have been hard to recover from if it had gone down that way. Foils to the role were if she had hammered Arian's role, if Seppel had shot her (she could have seen the vig as being scum potentially), if she had been shot by Seppel and the NK target in the same night. Also, the shot from Catelyn.
Rhand hit the jackpot when he shot fulcrum (and Arian's claim helped to find her) with the ninja/strongman shot. Catelyn was a godfather (with the Watcher shot thrown in to see her if she was trying to kill without the ninja) with the shot, and then the ability to send a message. I liked that because it could be used as an attempt to clear herself (even though the message wasn't alignment indicative) or I thought they could use it as an attempt to coordinate strategy within the day as like a one-shot day chat (presumably most likely around the Saint kill).
So then the rest of the town: Antny as the cop, Meg as the Watcher, and Corrik's role had the ability to pick off Catelyn's shot in the late game but was also VERY powerful if there was only one scum left (as you all saw), especially because he could call his shot a day in advance so he didn't have to be alive to report his findings for it to resolve. In a way, Town had 4 roles that could be investigative between the self-watcher, the watcher shot, the cop, and the delayer (in a one man scum team scenario)... which is why Proph's role existed.
So that was the thought process - got positive feedback on Bran's role and negative feedback on Rickon's role - but I think in this game with this setup they had a good synergy. Kraj and Ganderin_Dan reviewed and I posted Kraj's feedback in the spec chat, which I thought was insightful on the setup.
As for play: there were some very interesting things that happened in this game, IMO. For one, Arian got bused hard because of his role... and when he claimed Catelyn, I thought the scum team was doomed there. iRebel was going to have to either find someone likely outside of the game in Winterfell that he could claim, or counter, or hope that both he and Arian survived to the endgame. When he posted without acknowledging the claim and then replaced out, I thought Rhand had no prayer of pulling off the CC - which he debated thoroughly before going through with it.
I thought the timing of it was perfectly awkward and seemingly unnecessary and, really, that's what won them the game right there. Arian also did a nice job laying a pretty incriminating landscape behind him.
I have to give the Mafia MVP to Rhand for this game, though.
Proph had the right of it when he said that iRebel's v/la on Day 1 when most of the game was happening hurt Town, but the other thing that hurt was how quickly they pushed through the PoE plan and started running with it. It limited interactions and behavioral analysis. Corrik correctly realized the power of his role after ITF was dead - but I think he overlooked that Rhand could have No killed on the last night and created a dichotomy with him and another player. He was also moving the game too fast based on his experience on other sites with the games moving quicker.
Another interesting thing from this game is that Proph didn't claim his role due to an oversight and that actually worked out - because he would have probably been the lynch D1 if he had.
As for Town MVP, that's tough. I think it was probably hard to get away from Sneaky based on Rhand's claim and the way he did it to Arian at such an inconvenient time - but I also thought that Town should have made him work a bit more, especially when both Meg and Proph seemed to have figured out that it had to be either Rhand or Sneaky. iRebel did post after the Arian claim... so I also thought that both he and Rhand not catching the claim prior to when Rhand did CC seemed dubious - but, I do think it would have been hard to get away from Sneaky there.
I think I have to give Town MVP to Antny223 for the cop shot on ITF which derailed a Corrik vs. Meg situation that could have turned out badly for Town, and put them in a situation where they lynched correctly twice to start the game. I also like the way he slow-rolled the result as not immediately revealing it elicited a post from ITF that I thought had the potential to be incriminating toward Rhand as well.
Had Rhand been caught, I would have given it to the instigator of that between Meg and Proph.
And that's all I got. Thanks so much to those of you who replaced in, hope you enjoyed it and you'll consider playing next time through. If the scum Saint role gave some bad feels, I am sorry for that... and, if you haven't already, please vote for where the next chapter will take place!
Thanks, DCIII, for this game. It was probably one of the most challenging games I've played this year and the flavor was great. I would vote, but I know nothing about the GoT universe so I'll just play whatever the sequel of this game would be
Even though we lost, I feel as though both sides played a good game, with Rhand offering his buddy on a platter D1 when he could have lurked out to a Nati mislynch.
Once the PoE plan went through I felt we were moving way too quickly and there were a couple of lynches that shouldn't have happened, like killjoy (Meg would probably say Nati on the other end, though).
I was very convinced that sneaky was town behaviorally in the early game but I think I succumbed to confirmation bias late game (and probably made Meg succumb to it too) when I said that sneaky was just arguing with the confirmed townie. Rhand had a ticket to endgame based off of his bus, and he was never really questioned right up until endgame - when I felt that Occam's pointed to sneaky anyway.
Kind of regret not rereading, though. I got useless at endgame (which is my biggest pet peeve) and rereading this thread was too painful with the one million walls D1. I seriously thought we were overthinking it.
I must say that I got really nervous when I realized that I had no other choice than to endgame the Proph + Megs combo.
I know what Megs is capable of, and having a strong analyst like Proph to bounce ideas off from makes him even better.
Oh and I am proud that I was correct from the start about Meg's identity
If you have a Town LVP, I feel like I deserve that. I realized the moment I hit the spectator thread that I shouldn't have gone down so easily, as if we had lynched Sneaky instead of me, it would have been a whole different game. I don't think Proph would have lynched me so easily, even if the Razor pointed there.
Also tunnelling on Proph all game was bad. He deserved it though.
I personally felt that the strongest time for me to die would be Day 2 -- that way I would've gotten to strategize with my team + use my block once anyway, and then go from there.
That being said, I realized very quickly that I wasn't going to make it out of Day 1 alive because my team decided that having the extra kill was worth more than my roleblock + input, so I basically went into damage control (or damage causation, depending on how you look at it). I tried to leave as much of a wake behind me as I could on my way out. The Catelyn claim was because Rickon as a doctor was a laughable idea, and I wanted to claim doc to try to out the town's protective role(s). Unfortunately when nobody hard countered me, I got the idea into my head that I could actually survive until d2 despite that not being part of my original plan, and then that left me pretty devastated when Rhand came out of nowhere with the counterclaim. It might've been smarter to gamble a non-Catelyn character, but after thinking about it, I figured I was setting Rhand up for a D2 counterclaim which he could just say that he missed because he replaced in. That might've been poor -- not sure. Either way I think I did everything I could with what was given to me.
I'm still slightly salty that people kept saying that I'm an awful player when they didn't have full information on what I did or why.
I was being 100% truthful when I noted that I was going to RVS Kosa regardless of what role I got. I was also being completely honest in that I felt and still feel that that is a bull***** reason for a vote, just for the record.
It was indeed my plan to counterclaim you on Day 2 Arian, but I couldn't do that anymore when you repeated your claim.
I'm glad I didn't have to come up with another character: I think I would've claimed one of the Reeds, and they were both in the game.
And in hindsight, I'm glad that the counterclaim occured on Day 1. I think there would've been a lot more suspicion on me if it occured after a Night.
Arian, the only thing I thought was dubious was taking Rhand's role name without false claims. Completely worked out in the end but do think it was risky and did force his hand to claim there. Of course, that was the situation that ended up taking most of the suspicion off of him so...
Thanks for letting me sub in. I was entirely not in sync with the slow pace, and it made me really, really antsy and anxious to finish things.
That said, Scum Bomb should never exist in a game in my opinion. Roles that punish town for guessing correctly are pretty taboo.
I also came out too early with my role which in hindsight probably cost Town the game... but, I honestly felt if I didn't come out with what I had that you guys would have taken weeks for another day. That is why I did.
Good job, Rhand. Killing your teammates is always my favorite way to play scum too. = )
But, back to what I said at the end of Day 1! I asked if Arian could really be that dumb as scum to openly claim a not safelisted flavor as scum without claims outed. The answer truly appears to be No... he wasn't... it was part of their plan. You all told me he would be that dumb!
Well, I'll be the tiebreaker and the next game will be set at The Wall (plus, I realized I goofed by including Dragonstone this early anyway).
Teaser
As a result of Jon Snow abandoning his post, the Night's Watch has been using resources to send scouting teams south of the wall as opposed to north. As a result, The King Beyond the Wall's forces have been left unhindered to make greater progress toward The Wall itself. Winterfell, now aligned with the Iron Throne, has sent word of Jon's treason and death. It has also sent word that it recently acquired a large amount of new prisoners found not to be loyal to the throne that it will be sending as reinforcements.
Still, with The Wall itself as a formidable obstacle, word is that Mance Rayder is working to get men on the inside such that it doesn't need to be breached. Once on the other side, his horde of giants and wildlings will be unhindered to press as far south as they can.
Can The Night's Watch discover the traitors in their midst and delay the siege long enough for support from the Winterfell prisoners and forces? Their ability to succeed will both protect the realm and boon Lord Theon Greyjoy Stark's attempts to unite the North in solidarity to support King's Landing. Failure would introduce a new and unpredictable threat to the Seven Kingdoms and the Iron Throne.

... Coming soon to a mini-queue near you!
So I guess you could call that flavor a Stark contrast to the flavor in this game.
Oh sorry, you nathed me
Sorry DCIII!
Well done, Rhand.

I almost thought I lost when I saw you noticing where my read of the game stopped.
I did in fact read the whole game; I just pretended not to have seen the claim that I couldn't ignore if I did see it.
And almost immediately, Megiddo felt the sharp steel bite his neck, pushing through his jugular. He immediately went to his knees, spluttering, coughing blood, it was all he could do to pitch himself on his back as he fell forward, looking his mother in the eyes one last time before he faded to dark. Her eyes looked empty too.
Megiddo has been end gamed and is dead, he was:

Hm
EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to pop in with a cryptic comment and nothing else. This was an enjoyable read in places -- hats off to Rhand for that performance. And great flavor too, DCIII.
Can anyone tell me why I was run up Day 1? I still don't understand why I was run up.
I'll admit I know almost none of the places mentioned. The Dothraki Sea is one of the few I do. lol

Set up:

Abilities:
You may vote.
Once per Night, you or one of the other Mafia members may perform a Nightkill.

Hodor – Mafia Goon
“Hodor! Hodor!

Ser Rodrik Cassel – Town Vanilla

Abilities:

Maester Luwin – Town Vanilla
"The years pass in their hundreds and their thousands, and what does any man see of life but a few summers, a few winters?"

Jojen Reed – Town Anticipator
“In the dark of night the salt sea will flow over these walls. I saw the dead, bloated and drowned.”
Only 13 years of age, your greensight or, ability to see into the future through dreams, has given you a gravity and maturity far beyond your years. Your father, Lord Howland Reed, was one of Eddard Stark’s most loyal supporters and was with him at The Tower of Joy when he rescued his sister Lyanna from the Targaryens. Upon hearing one of your dreams and learning of Eddard Stark’s death, your father sent you to support and protect Winterfell. You plan to do so by using your greensight to unravel the plot to overthrow the city.

Theon Greyjoy – Town Miller

Seppel you are:
Abilities:
You may vote.

Brandon “Bran” Stark – Town 1-Shot Bulletproof/Self-Watcher

Iron Islands
I know what Megs is capable of, and having a strong analyst like Proph to bounce ideas off from makes him even better.
Oh and I am proud that I was correct from the start about Meg's identity
Also tunnelling on Proph all game was bad. He deserved it though.
I'm glad I didn't have to come up with another character: I think I would've claimed one of the Reeds, and they were both in the game.
And in hindsight, I'm glad that the counterclaim occured on Day 1. I think there would've been a lot more suspicion on me if it occured after a Night.

Oh wells! Good game!
