1. This is about having a fun game experience. Please keep the personal attacks and flaming to a minimum. If I feel that a player is violating the spirit of friendly competition they will receive one warning. If the problem persists, a modkill is a possibility.
2. All MTG Salvation and Mafia Forum rules apply in this game. If you are not familiar with said rules, please read up on them.
3. Please do not discuss this game in any way, shape, or form outside the legal avenues for this game. There will be a spectator chat for those who wish to spectate or have died in the game. To protect the integrity of the game, the spectator chat will not have any hidden information privy to those following the game.
4. Please do not quote Role PM’s except the parts I have given permission that player‘s may claim. Role PM’s are standardized for every player, and every player can claim the standardized portions. Please do not quote any other PM’s that may occur between me (as a host) and you (as a player).
5. Bold your voting and unvoting. Please unvote before you make a new vote.
6. Lynches require a majority. After a player has hit the lynch threshhold, no more votes or unvotes will be counted. After a player has been lynched there will be a lynch scene and the game will progress into night. There will be no discussion in the thread allowed during night. Once you are dead, you may no longer post in the game; this includes a “bah” post of any kind.
7. Editing or deleting a post will be grounds for a modkill. No exceptions.
8. If you have not posted for 72 hours, you will be prodded if you have not given the thread a “V/LA status” (Vacation / Limited Access) update. On the third prod you will be forcibly replaced.
9. In the interest in keeping a game moving, deadlines may be posted at any time during the Day. If the game hits a deadline without a lynch, the player with the most votes will be lynched.
10. Have fun! Can’t you smell the cornbread and chili already?

[Win Condition.]
I am allowing players to claim Alignment, Building, Ability Name, and Win Condition. You must paraphrase the Flavor and/or Ability Description and not quote them directly. If you have any questions about this, please pass it by me so you don’t accidentally get modkilled.
Gameplay elements:
1. As stated earlier, all Power Roles in this game are Jack of All Trades (JOAT), affect a JOAT, or are affected by a JOAT.
2. JOAT’s abilities are considered “unlocked” at the start of the game. When an ability is used up in any form or another, the ability is “locked”. Once an ability is locked, it cannot be used until if and when it is “unlocked” again.
3. When a building is demolished, if that building was a JOAT, all “unlocked” abilities of that building will be revealed. All “locked” abilities of that building will remain hidden.
4. This game will use Seppel’s standard form of Order of Operations for night actions:
Order of Moves
1. Immunities
2. Controlling another player's actions
3. First strike non-killing actions
4. Gaining actions
5. Losing actions
6. Redirecting / replacement effects
7. Roleblocking
8. Protecting
9. Rescuing / Reviving
10. Sending items or messages
11. First strike killing actions
12. Killing actions
13. Gathering information
5. While not explicitly stated in the rules, it may need clarification: JOAT may only use one ability every night phase.

The Chamber of Commerce was boiling hot with rage. The members of Pleasantville had fought long and hard to avoid their city being turned into a shopping mall. The company had decided to build that shopping mall twenty miles over. They had been victorious. But something new was brewing. The mall had gotten so big and popular that they needed a gigantic parking lot for the mall. People from all over the state were going to park in this massive parking lot, and shuttles-- yes, shuttles!-- were going to ferry these travelers back and forth from the mall. Honestly, how much more could these people take?
The Mayor stood up and gave an impassioned speech. She had been Mayor for four years now. Before she was Mayor, her mother was mayor. Everyone knew their family. She promised that she would fight as hard as she could to prevent this from happening. Her mother was victorious and she would be victorious!
An old man stepped from the crowd though. It was paranoid Old Man Jesse. He was wise beyond his years, but he had a couple extra sips of the moonshine if you know what I mean. He began to shout:
“You think you can fight them? Well how do we fight them when their forces are in this very room? How do we fight them when their forces are in this very city? They’re watching Pleasantville. They’re watching us because some of them ARE us. And nobody is going to be able to stop them this time…”
Outside there was what sounded like a Fourth of July firework‘s show. The group ran out and was instantly thrown back with even bigger explosions. Old Man Jesse’s business across the street, Megiddo’s Nursery, had exploded into a burst of fire! Roses and posies scattered everywhere as Old Man Jesse dropped to his knees. He cried out in the air to the one he called God for the town to listen to his rantings as pink flamingo lawn decorations fell from the sky.
The town members looked at each other back and forth. Maybe there was truth in the madness of the man. Maybe they couldn’t trust each other this time. Maybe this was just the opening salvo. Pleasantville used to be a place where you could leave your doors unlocked. Not anymore. Tonight, everyone was going to lock the deadbolt as well.
Megiddo’s Nursery has been demolished. It is now Day One! You may begin posting.
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.

I would find Hans's early barrage of posts more suspect if not for this wagon. There is scum in there somewhere.
Tan's vote is good. I don't know who fulcrum is so I don't know what "never again" refers to, but his vote also seems fine.
Cythare's vote is questionable... putting a third vote on a player typically signifies the end of RVS around here, and I don't know why she would be in a hurry to do so.
Kosa's stands out a bit because he immediately posted a realization that he put Hans at L-3 but didn't unvote at the time. He also may have been playing up the Apocalypse theme by quoting me.
But finally... ugh. Would Rodemy *really* be that careless after GIP and Apocalypse? I would think not, but then again he did a LOT of things in Apocalypse that didn't make sense. Derping votes is definitely in his scum repertoire, and "Figured that might happen" is really self-conscious.

Like... what? You're overexplaining your vote on Rodemy which is bad per se, and I'm still failing to get any sense from it.
Why did I unvote him? Simple. L-2 is unnecessary this early in the game.
I like these two posts, and am inclined to believe Rodemy's reaction at this point.
Unvote Cantrip -- RVS is dead. Long live RVS.
Logically speaking I don't like Dkings, since I disagree with most of his stances so far. At the same time, gut is telling me that he's reading a lot like the Dkings from Majora's Mask, which flipped town. Need to see more before I make a call there.

@Hans, look at the 5 votes on you from RVS and tell me what you think of them.
1.) Tanarin - this guy is a comedic genius; vote warranted
2.) fulcrum - reads like a grudge vote of some kind? vote is kinda meh
3.)Cythare - Isn't there some unspoken rule that says the 3rd vote is officially the start of a bandwagon?
4.) Kosa - lol completely warranted RVS vote, but rather ill-timed considering the already present wagon.
5.) Rodemy - I like this vote least of all. The vote is clearly inspired by the other voters, considering he made no mention of how much he disliked me in his previous post, but he quickly retracts the vote, which makes no sense because he must have already seen all of the other votes on the wagon. So why did he vote in the first place? I feel that this could just be a Rodemy move, but he proved that he was able to emulate this nature quite well regardless of alignment, so I won't dismiss it so easily here.

"I'm a compulsive liar no matter what team I play on, but I'm trying to get better about it."
Vote ZDS since we can't beat him anyways, and turning me into the monster I am today. Unvote, vote Tanarin for making me take the first step in reviving Blind Hydra. Unvote, vote Ria before he backdoors his way back into the admin panel and gets us all sitebanned to win by default. Unvote, vote ganderin_dan for breaking his RVS-abstaining trend and potentially ending RVS for everyone else. unvote, vote Tom because I'm mad he took my quote out of his sig, and fooled me like everyone else unvote, vote pinkfloyd for making that setup rediculous.
There's like, 5-6 other games I've replaced into (WoW, MGM, Hetalia, Starcraft, Seasons, Cyberspace), and RVS had ended in the other two by the time I got there (Polyopticon, Survival Horror).
= highly likely town, considering how self-aware he's obviously going to be after Apocalypse, his first scum endgame. He'll sort himself out if I'm wrong, though.
Seems I disagree with dkings on this issue, but I can understand the train of thought behind his post in #27. @Dkings: Why didn't you just directly ask Cythare about the vote, instead of just commenting on it?
EWP: Yea, #31 too. He's town. Appreciate you making me not need to read the sillyness.

>.< I just don't like his early behavior. That is all.
I unvoted because i saw he was at l-3.. and that is WAAAYY to many votes on one person this early in the game.
If you wanna vote me for that then go ahead.
I am looking for scum.
Are you? So why aren't you interacting with Hans, your scumsuspect?
Why would you unvote someone at L-2 if you don't like them?
Is blatantly awful, especially considering who KK's dealing with in the former of the posts. It's too situational to be a pressure vote, and serves as a fantastic springboard into a fresh wagon.
The magenta responses in #33 are even worse, somehow. You're criticizing him for responding to the only thing worth responding to, and trying to defend not unvoting someone at L-3 less than 50 posts into a game. It's not the fact that you placed that vote, it's the fact that you make some vain attempt to (inexplicably) defend it while simultaneously mudslinging.
Toss in a FoS for good measure (Just in case the Rodemy wagon doesn't get any traction? Because it's not going to.), season to taste, simmer.
Vote: Kosakosa
@Cythare: You've also been around here long enough to realize how RVS works. Find a better excuse.

Ok, so you're saying just because I'm voting Rodemy I'm not entitled to question people voting him? Pfft.

I'm criticizing him for making pointless statements. When I read that post the first thing it occured to me was that DKL was trying too hard to appear the scumhunting townie when in reality his words are devoid of meaningful content.
Also, his (and yours) "He didn't unvote a player at L-3 during RVS! YAAARG HE'S SCUM!" antics are borderline ridiculous.
Woah... I leave for the night and come back to this.
First off: unvote
@Rodemy: OK, I am completely not following your vote logic at all here. I did not know that RVS had any hard and fast rules. On top of that, you said he made a response to a vote against him (From me.) I saw nothing other than a continuation of RVS in his "explanation" (Since it was an inside joke between us from the IRC games we literally got done playing just 20-30 minutes earlier.)
@DKing: rezombied basically asked the question I want to ask. Why did you find his RVS barrage suspicious in the first place? He certanly would not be the first player on this forum to spam the thread in that time period (Seppel and Iso being 2 prime examples.)
@Kosa: Eeeewww. You seem real quick to defend Rodemy yet ostracize him at the same time. Being at L-2 less than 24 hours in is never a good thing. I am personally reading Rodemy's missing of the vote count to be genuine, but only because his vote went up at pretty much the same time as yours did, and he may have actually seen only 3 votes and not 4.
Also, as Dan pointed out, there is not too much more to comment on at this point other than the super fast wagon. Yes, he could have possibly skipped the whole analyze the rest of the wagon part, but he is at least making an effort to contribute on his first post in the game.
You're not entitled to spaz out and naked vote him after seeing him pull some antic like that that he'd reasonably do as either alignment, and then start applying pressure afterwards, KK. Don't try and twist my words (considering I don't know how you'd come remotely close to that conclusion othwerise).
Apologies in advance, I have a super busy work schedule today and tomorrow, so I will be pretty inactive until Wednesday.
Seriously, a wagon to L-2 less than 24 hours after the game starts?
It's called RVS.
And that is acceptable? Regardless of RVS votes, a wagon to L-2 in the first 24 hours of a game is highly suspect.
@Rezombied/Tanarin:
I have been in a couple games with Hans and have not seen him be active/spammy in RVS. If that is actually his style and I just haven't seen it, please correct me.
But yes, I would prefer to focus on something more concrete: an L-2 wagon this quickly into a game. Tanarin, you and I have seen this before:
Sir Karn (5) - hansanator, Cythare, Generic, swishh, dkingsland967
Of course Karn was town and Hans's alignment here is an unknown. Either way, I find it pretty hard to believe there isn't an opportunistic scum somewhere in the batch of votes on Hans.

Oh, don't be mistaken. I was not questioning the logic of looking at the wagon, I was more questioning why you find hans spamming scummy, yet only felt it needed to be commented about how he is acting.
Also, thanks for bringing up smalltown. I was having that eerie feeling I have been through this before.
*shrug* I just found it odd that he didn't vote in RVS instead just said "let's hunt teh mafia scum" I find it non-inclusive and a throw away post.
Kosa's reaction to my unvoting of hans seems consistant with the other times i have played with him: Quick to jump to conclusions and rather.. Kosa..y
Never played with tan for too long..
All the rest i am kind of null on.. Looking at G-D for his post here
Defensive and agressive.
But the post before that screams town to me..
My best bet right now is Kosa for his severe lack of discipline.
You saw no logic or even put any town thought towards why i did what i did. You just exclaimed WTF and voted me. You instantly saw me as scum for what could be considered a smart move if it were anyone else.

It was half-serious.
I actually like Rodemy and Kosa for being on the end of the RVS wagon. The votes weere so blatantly anti-town that I actually think they're likely town for lacking any sense of self-awareness.

"Kosa seems consistent with his other games. Wait, just kidding, he's actually acting oddly and is my strongest scum read." What?
Seems I disagree with dkings on this issue, but I can understand the train of thought behind his post in #27. @Dkings: Why didn't you just directly ask Cythare about the vote, instead of just commenting on it?
I don't think Cythare's vote was one of the most likely scum votes. The content was bleh/RVS, her vote was suspicious on position alone. Worth making note of? Sure. But worth pursuing at the time, in the face of scummier votes? Not as much.
Also, FWIW, this is my fourth game with Rodemy. He's very erratic, and behavioral rules of thumb pretty much go out the window with him. He's like Generic on coke. Your point on his self-consciousness is fair, though. I may be feeling some post-Apocalypse paranoia.
@fulcrum: That is about as close to naked as a vote can get.
My reaction was bad why? Because I'm not writing off players as too scummy to be scum? As I mentioned in my last post: I've seen this kind of wagon crop up this early before, fairly recently, and it was pushed by scum. How likely do you think it is that there are 5 town votes on a wagon that went to L-2 within the first ~25 posts of the game? Can you show me an example of a game where that has happened?
@Arian: You mentioned myself and Rodemy, but what do you think of Kosa?

I've seen a L-1 wagon in RVS once, in a game where I was scum. My teammates were the first on the wagon, and the following four people were town. My team proceeded to lead lynches on the people on the end of the wagon. tl:dr We won. I can link it if you really want, but I'd prefer not to.
The issues with your post have been well covered but I'll summarize it for you: I feel like you were attempting to lynch easy targets.

Tan's vote isn't good, it's RVS. First vote on someone in RVS is completely ignorable.

Cythare's vote is questionable... putting a third vote on a player typically signifies the end of RVS around here, and I don't know why she would be in a hurry to do so.
This isn't a hurry. This is Cythare voting 12 hours after Tanarin. I would be shocked if Cythare had even read RVS to this point, because most of the time more than 1-2 people don't vote the same person during RVS.

This is disagree with. I love DKing's more recent quote RE Rodemy -- "Generic on crack." I don't think that sense can even be attempted to be made from Rodemy as of this point in the game. He might have purposefully put Hans to l-2 just to gauge reactions for all I know.
[QUOTE=dkingsland967;/comments/12814016]/snip @Arian: You mentioned myself and Rodemy, but what do you think of Kosa?
Kosa is being Kosa. He rather famously doesn't have a scum meta. He's also fond of periodically making really dumb plays which either shoot himself in the foot or work out brilliantly. I'm gonna go ram a fencepole up my ass on this one. If Kosa is scum, it'll turn up before long -- he has basically no experience as scum (WWE, but god that's a bad example for everyone involved). I would much rather investigate players who are more....stable. I always seem to get in trouble when I go after the Generic/Rodemy/Kosa squad -- I just can't effectively / accurately read them.

Vote Hansanator for that stupid daykill in Apocalypse

@Rodemy: do explain.

Vote Rodemy
He made three posts in rvs.. and no votes whatsoever.
Except he made an effort to make a joke about being a JoAT.. or not...
and then made an effort to respond to a vote AGAINST him..
Yet no vote... no abstain...
It's odd. haven't seen that behavior in RVS before. Though i can't use the one scum game i know he was scum in because he wasn't IN rvs...
Figured that might happen.
Odd != scummy.
Still haven't explained. Why is not voting in RVS scummy?
Seriously, a wagon to L-2 less than 24 hours after the game starts?
Hansanator (5): Tanarin, fulcrum, Cythare, Kosa, Rodemy
Ugh.

@Hans: Do you normally not vote in RVS?
@GanDan: Point to another game(s) where you abstained from RVS.
Unvote, because RVS may or may not be dead.
So, someone did something that you find suspicious. And you decide not to question them about it because they have votes on them?
vote dkingsland967
I unvoted because i saw he was at l-3.. and that is WAAAYY to many votes on one person this early in the game.
If you wanna vote me for that then go ahead.
I am looking for scum.

Are you? So why aren't you interacting with Hans, your scumsuspect?
Why would you unvote someone at L-2 if you don't like them?
HAHAH. Slow down sir. I'll interact when I can. How's this for interaction:
Hey hans, how's it goin?
You should facestab Kosa again. You know, for old times sake
<3
I am not the person you should be looking at Kosa, look elsewhere. Trust me.
I want to see more from Hans. @Hans, look at the 5 votes on you from RVS and tell me what you think of them.
Yes, I try not to on most occasions. Just in general, I'm rather stingy with my vote: it either stays on one person or not at all.
I have spent the past ~18 hours sleeping or in school. I post when I can.

I was capable
Of doing so Except this one, because it was my first game with ZDS, my mentor.
There's like, 5-6 other games I've replaced into (WoW, MGM, Hetalia, Starcraft, Seasons, Cyberspace), and RVS had ended in the other two by the time I got there (Polyopticon, Survival Horror).
As for this Hans wagon:
really noob logic+selfawareness
= highly likely town, considering how self-aware he's obviously going to be after Apocalypse, his first scum endgame. He'll sort himself out if I'm wrong, though.
Seems I disagree with dkings on this issue, but I can understand the train of thought behind his post in #27. @Dkings: Why didn't you just directly ask Cythare about the vote, instead of just commenting on it?
EWP: Yea, #31 too. He's town. Appreciate you making me not need to read the sillyness.
However,
+
I consistently FoS people around. Get used to it and stop impersonating Guardman.
Vote Kosa^2

And that is acceptable? Regardless of RVS votes, a wagon to L-2 in the first 24 hours of a game is highly suspect.
@Rezombied/Tanarin:
Of course Karn was town and Hans's alignment here is an unknown. Either way, I find it pretty hard to believe there isn't an opportunistic scum somewhere in the batch of votes on Hans.
A better excuse? You're going to need to clarify what you're trying to say here.
Draft my cube! (630 cards)

Could you expand on this?
It was half-serious.
I actually like Rodemy and Kosa for being on the end of the RVS wagon. The votes weere so blatantly anti-town that I actually think they're likely town for lacking any sense of self-awareness.
On the other hand, this **** is weird:
"Kosa seems consistent with his other games. Wait, just kidding, he's actually acting oddly and is my strongest scum read." What?
Well yeah, but your reaction is more suspect.
Vote dkingsland
Yep.
I just said he was acting like Kosa with his reaction.
I then divulged INTO his reaction saying there was no thought to the town part of my unvote.
That's the part that kind of caught me.
So lets not put words in my mouth, k?
There is no townKosa or scumKosa.. there is just ( que intro music ) KOSAKOSA!
Captain obvious.
Tan's vote isn't good, it's RVS. First vote on someone in RVS is completely ignorable.
/barn regarding not sure who Fulcrum is, but I'm guessing he was in WWE, since Hans damn near cluster****ed everything for town by like quintuple gambiting as town.
This isn't a hurry. This is Cythare voting 12 hours after Tanarin. I would be shocked if Cythare had even read RVS to this point, because most of the time more than 1-2 people don't vote the same person during RVS.
This I agree with.
