Wait, how does the bolded mesh? Also, in my experience, the description of being non-self-aware generally comes from town instead of scum. Are you trying to suggest that Vi is overplaying her hand in this regard? Because otherwise, I don't think I see what you're getting at.
Vi's #257 reads weirdly, like townie "****, no one's listening to me" mixed with scum bitterness. I don't know what to make of it.
Same as you seeing "no one listens to me" and "scum bitterness."
To me, some stuff reads like scum giving up, some stuff reads like trying to keep a brave front.
I've been deferring my Llamarble read to you, since I was wrongly and totally convinced he was scum the last game, and you thought he was a lamb when viewed from the spectator QT.
Well Voxxicus has only three phoneposts but I like this: "Vi/desCoures/Llamarble scum team." He just needs to switch DYH with Iso for the alternate. Other than that, my read is on HOLD until I see more of him.
Cyouni gets locked in semantic minutiae and it's difficult to extract actual opinions he may have, or pretend to have if he's scum. Lots of asking questions with no follow up, but the questions are decent. On HOLD until I see him take actual stands.
Nacho : I can put him as prob-town for evidence that he's legitimately inquisitive.

I was hoping I was able to get you to realize that "He always ignores me = now this game he is interacting with me" is actually a good thing.
Or more concretely, ignoring Thor last game didn't turn out well and after the game ended Thor turned out to be surprisingly well-spoken, so it's worth a shot.
She is saying here that the purpose of the interaction was based on taking a shot on me being surprisingly well-spoken.
Her initial interaction was a really awkward attack off calling a reach in RVS scummy.
It doesn't add up.
Do you still think it does? What am I missing here?
Oh, and hey, look, here's my non-homework response.
Wherein I ask you what the hell is going on and to clarify that answer.
Which you never do.
Meaning the initial question is still unanswered.
Meaning me bringing it back up is pretty apropos.
I think the entire premise of your argument is stupid in multiple ways.
Namely, that it would matter whether Vi saying "I felt it was worth a shot talking to Thor due to postgame sanity" matched up precisely with Vi's behavior.
But it doesn't even fail to match up, because Vi having the thought quoted above doesn't magically restrict Vi from calling you scum early.
Which is what I said last time.
I know you're capable of saying useful things but I don't think this is one of them.
Conversely, I fail to understand how you can so casually handwave logic that doesn't match up at all.
Why did Vi bring up that thought at all since it was never part of her interaction with me, and even if she held the thought it should have been replaced by her 'I'm interacting with him because I think he's scum and I'm trying to lynch him' plan.
Why even bring up the teddy bear, rainbow, and flowers plan if not simply to try to sound good?
I mean, even you "impulse" defense is defeated...by what Vi said she was thinking.
You're defending her on stances she has claimed are not what she was thinking.
It doesn't make sense to me.
Actually Iso, if Vierni is town, I would say that you are probably town also. I don't think that you would vote someone at such an obvious moment if you were scum and knew they would flip town. It just makes you look so bad. But I do think that you would come into the thread, see 3 people(2 of them extremely vocal) voting your scumbuddy and figure that you needed to at least get involved in the wagon while there was still time.
I mean, even you "impulse" defense is defeated...by what Vi said she was thinking.
You're defending her on stances she has claimed are not what she was thinking.
It doesn't make sense to me.
I'm sorry but I've lost interest in explaining this to you and don't intend to return to the topic unless it becomes important for some reason.
Tammy - have you read anything Cyan has said about me? Also, I'm getting a little jaded about the "classic scum maneuver" line until you find something that isn't expletive goes here; please tell me if I missed something else in that post that is causing you to read him as Town.
I have. I think he's wrong about you, but that doesn't make him scum. He feels like town to me. And I got a chance to read a little more of the first game and he was similarly absolutely certain about his scum read on cyan. My only worry is that he's not exactly offering up any other suspects;however someone (cyouni ?) said this was typical.
(Speaking of Thor did whoever that was ever clarify whether or not it was his town game like you asked)?
That said, I *do* worry about an iso/cyan team, but it's more an inkling than anything solid.
Have you iso'd him before making this statement? I highly recommend the exercise.
I didn't, but I've liked his posts throughout. I liked his early question to cyan concerning what he expects of you.
I also have had a chance to read a little more of the last game and he was rather active and very interactive with Thor. Now unless he went aha! I'm going to be less active this game and throw them off my scent, which would actually make people suspect him more, see here, then I don't know. I like what little he's delivered as I can follow it as a town thought process.
I liked his case on you as I can follow his perspective. Giving a read on you this early in the game is foolish but I have a slight town lean from your reaction to his case.
I *suppose* it's possible if he drew scum again he'd not go the bussing route, so could be defending Vi here as a means of throwing us off but I think Vi is town here, and it doesn't feel like that abominable buzzword.
Also, no, unless there's something special about that exchange that would cause me to remember it I don't offhand recall what you're talking about. To contrast, I drove the Cyouni wagon multiple times.
Okay so, I haven't gotten to the cyouni wagon yet in the other game and know I won't be able to get back to reading it until Thursday, pesky lecture writing, but what do you find similar to last game. I mean I suppose I could be coming at it from confirm bias here but he felt more dynamic? That game. In that it wasn't the busyworkish "explain" approach he took here but asked questions with a purpose and offered up his own opinions.
I've been deferring my Llamarble read to you, since I was wrongly and totally convinced he was scum the last game, and you thought he was a lamb when viewed from the spectator QT.
I'd like to know your reasons.
Also, Vi. Give reasons for Llamarble vote.
In other news, I have read Iso, he is town.
Because shiny. And the only adorable thing he's said is "scum will not evade me". Then recently made a post which basically said "everyone can be scum".
I want to see him trying to figure the game out. I haven't seen that yet.
Scum will not evade me was adorable?
I will admit to not really knowing everything that's going on yet.
For example:
When is the deadline?
Yes, it was.
I never said you had to have everything figured out. I said it didn't look like you were going through the process of figuring it out.
I don't know when deadline is; there's not one stated, but that last game I played here didn't have one as long as there was activity unless the players asked for one.
Nacho - when you finally get near a computer I'd love for you to talk to me about Vi and marble. Then to a lesser degree I'd like you to talk to me about cyan and iso.
Voxx - if you ever check in I'd love for you to explain your suspicion on descoures. <------ actually any mtgser would be good here, it's just that in the last game voxx was able to read him based on recent scum experience.
DYH - since you get early reads, who do you think is scum besides kami?
Vierni (3) - Cyan, Thor665, Kami of Lunacy Kami of Lunacy (2) - DYH, desCoures Cyan (2) - Nachomamma8, Iso llamarble (2) - Vierni, Tammy Iso (1) - llamarble
Not Voting (2) - Cyouni, Voxxicus
With 12 still alive, it takes 7 to lynch! Day One "deadline" is November 19.
It has come to my attention I have not informed the players about deadline related stuff in the OP. I've just edited it with that info and will be reminding you guys at each votecount from now on, thanks for your patience.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
I mean, even you "impulse" defense is defeated...by what Vi said she was thinking.
You're defending her on stances she has claimed are not what she was thinking.

[QUOTE=Vierni;/comments/12599460](Speaking of Thor did whoever that was ever clarify whether or not it was his town game like you asked)?
Basically they said it was a playstyle tell but got a little mushy mouthed about it.
I personally decided they weren't willing to speak with any authority on it and thus the whole tell is meaningless and proceeded to ignore it.
@Nacho: A)Thor sounds townie, and B)he is pushing a case against the same person that I think is scum, in a way that does not sound, at all, like bussing. Of course I am going to cheer his efforts.
Why does he sound townie? Why doesn't it sound like bussing? Why did you stop your own efforts?
3. nah
4. I'm saying you approached her like you approached me [in game 1]. And seeing as that's the case, it was how I caught you [in game 1] so I'm going to use it as proof you're scum [in this game].
5. Well I've explained my scumThor read above; as for the rest, Vi didn't answer my question early on, her response to Cyan's vote was poor, and I'm completely uncompelled by what I've seen from her play so far. Additionally, Cyan's a crafty scum; he could probably sense a Vi wagon was going to develop and jumped on before it seemed like there was blood in the water to avert suspicion (it's what I would do), and something about him feels off so far in this game. I've been duped by scumCyan before (Redux 2, though the town ultimately won that when ZDS, AE, and I lynched Cyan at endgame) and I'm not eager to have that performance repeat itself [in regards to my read on Cyan].
How do you think he sensed a Vi wagon would start?
He doesn't. Nor does he have a valid reason for thinking I'm scum, he's just playing the typical scum card of 'pump up a person's ego'. Because basically no one is ever going to respond with 'you're lying I suck at being scum'. Well, no one worth acknowledging anyway. This line of 'thought' is the ultimate scum trap, because a townie has no really effective way of arguing against it.
Iso is likely scum here, and is just bussing Vierni. Actually, he's probably scum regardless of Vierni's alignment, but I like the Vierni wagon alot and want to see it to the conclusion.
He's pumping up your ego in order to call you scum?
Thor currently feels like he's doing his damndest to make me lynch him which makes me uncomfortable on that wagon for now; I feel he has a better working knowledge of how to handle me as scum than he's displaying now. I don't like how Cyan is watching the Vi/Thor bit unravel, and I don't like how he's egging Thor on to keep attacking Vi; it reminds me of Thor's behavior towards me when I started attacking Iso last game.
I'm feeling pretty good about Cyan being town. What am I missing?
I can't say I know what you're seeing in the first place.
The context of someone just admitting that they suck as scum is different than being expected to counter someone else saying 'You're a good scum player!'
And yeah, 'here is the scum team' is typical of Iso regardless of alignment. The # of posts that he has in this game is much lower than I would normally expect from him as town, but, I'm not sure how much of a point against him that is.
The V/LA means it's probably not much of a point at all. Does Iso usually lurk as scum?
I don't think Kami's analysis of Vi is correct at all. I realize desCoures has already touched on this, somewhat, but as someone who was scum last game - even if I didn't control the kill until Thor had died - I didn't feel that way about her at all. I tried to put some doubt in the other townies about her, but the way she strode into the last day made it very clear that route was going nowhere. Vierni didn't get killed because there were other pressing matters like a doc, a vig, and a gunsmith. It's incredibly disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Those were the only three scum kills. Had I been forced to kill someone Night 4, it would have very obviously been Vierni.
So, my read on KoL has flipped in one post - and by extension, my read on Vierni - who I was previously leaning over the scum side of the fence towards.
Vote: Kami
I can't say I understand why you scumread Kami in this post. Is it because she said Vi played badly when he totally didn't?
I will clarify that I don't agree with the 'fear of Vi' concept of DGB's case.
That part of the case was to emphasize her lackadaisical attitude. It's 1% of the case, and it was my perception, and I was town so, take it as you will.
It's not the case.
I understand that, it's one of the reasons I pointed out that I thought it was meaningless to such a degree I am confused why he thought it would hinge on an alignment shift for two players.
Are you buddying me? Because I really didn't attack your case, and DYH did, and I'm the one you're sweating on selling that your case is still good even though I have my own reasons for thinking Vi is scum and have pushed that case as hard as anyone. So this defense seems...odd.
This flash of paranoia mid-tunnel was more reassuring than it should have been.
I like his interactions with me. That and he feels like he believes what he's saying. The response about how dgb discredited him so that he can't be viewed as obvtown when you flip scum felt town. Obviously he has enough experience to know that bussing happens, but it didn't feel orchestrated.
I have to laugh at 3 people voting for Thor. If last game was an example of Thor being scum, then no one has any business voting for him at this point this game. His behavior couldn't be more different.
Not at all surprisingly, scum-Vierni is one of the people voting for him.
Tammy - have you read anything Cyan has said about me? Also, I'm getting a little jaded about the "classic scum maneuver" line until you find something that isn't expletive goes here; please tell me if I missed something else in that post that is causing you to read him as Town.

@Tammy: So your immediate response to being voted by a person you asked to cooperate is to completely stonewall them? (that's not the right word but w/e)
Also there is a difference between liking/not liking a statement and finding someone's comment odd. Unless you people think scum busing each other never happens, in which case enjoy your magicalchristmasland. (Mainly saying this because this came up in the last game.)
I'd say stonewall isn't even in the same dictionary for what you're looking for. Vi's response to said vote rejection was to be like hey I realize there's a reason for that rejection though it's wrong and I'm town so you should get you vote off me. But me if I offered to work with someone and they basically told me to **** off, roses and candy I would not be sending.
I'm questioning how legitimate your wish to cooperate is if you don't even bother asking about the reason.
I have no idea the purpose of the second point. If this is still part of the whole 'explain' thing not actually offering up you're own opinions but looking busy to seem engaged, you're not going to change my mind on that. Some of your later stuff is looking better in that regard, but my earlier point still stands.
And of course I know bussing exists. Why would you suggest I didn't.
Because you apparently seem to think I can't question a point that I agree with to find the motivation behind it. Ironically, this came up in the last game.
I still think DGB is doing a good job if she's scum.
DC is a maybescum.
Vi wagon is stell meh.
Cyan votes are good.
Tammy and Nacho could be scum but don't seem megalikely at this point.
I don't know why Iso is a townread for lots of people.
Cyouni, Voxxicus meh.
Thor is a potential scumbag.
DYH seems legit so far but has low postcount.
Iso and Cyan may be the best lynches so far though?
I think I'll Unvote; Vote: Iso
I'd really like to hear how "Cyan votes are good" vs "don't know why Iso's a townread" seems to make Iso scum over Cyan.
Nothing makes one more aware of the game dynamics than being wagoned themselves. Vierni is still oblivious.
I think Vierni rolled scum and was looking forward to dazzling us all with her scum game. And now she's sad, because it doesn't look so good anymore. EvilThor is caught her instead of being fooled by her, Brainless Goofball caught her... that worthless Iso that got wagoned and vig'ed early last game... how humiliating.
She's given up inside, she's trying to keep a brave front. But I see through it.
Wait, how does the bolded mesh? Also, in my experience, the description of being non-self-aware generally comes from town instead of scum. Are you trying to suggest that Vi is overplaying her hand in this regard? Because otherwise, I don't think I see what you're getting at.

I'm noting this down because I remember I had something in mind when I quoted it, but I can't remember what it is.
I think it's more likely to come from town than scum because scum can just back off and go, "okaymeme.png", and then say "I told you so" later. Town, IMO, are more likely to want to push the game in the direction they want it to go instead of letting their opinions sit on the backburner.

Just got out of meeting - I should be able to continue playing, though I'll still be busy. Will be home later tonight and hopefully catch up then or in morning, depending on just how late.
Nacho - I'll respond to you after work, but why do you feel so mechanical?
Also, silly boy, it's a school night. Of course I wasn't around that late
It's really, really hard not to sound mechanical when it's 2 am on a school night and I'm playing mafia on my girlfriend's laptop and trying not to wake her up while I do so. I occasionally have inspired moments, but that wasn't one of them.

Round 1:
DGB is the first person to look town.
As of page 7 we have a Tammy / Nacho / Iso / DC scumpile.
I think I'll be able to solve this one.
Thank you for 150 Nacho!
Vi is probably town, but I'll read Thor's progression.
His initial scumpile is a bit strange, and unfortunately I don't know what point he got it at, but it seems a strange scumpile for Llamarble-scum. I understand why he got the initial townread on Kami because Kami looked town to me in the beginning as well, and she is a weird person to be the first to clear at first since she's one of the easier mislynches on the MS side.
I still think DGB is doing a good job if she's scum.
DC is a maybescum.

Scum will not evade me was adorable?
I will admit to not really knowing everything that's going on yet.
For example:
When is the deadline?
I also like that most of his posting is framed towards "not knowing everything that's going on yet, not towninating yet": it reminds me of his posting in #YOLOville as opposed to his posting in white flag. His excuses in white flag were that he "wasn't feeling it", "hadn't quite gotten into the game" whereas his explanations here are that he's just making his first run and that he'll figure out the scum shortly, which is more along the lines of how he responded in #YOLOville IIRC.

Nacho - on iPad there is no way I'm going to try to cut the majority of your wall, so.
When I asked you what I was missing on cyan, I wanted an actual answer :/
And yes, part of what makes it sound like he believes it is his insistence, but I also cited liking his interaction with me.
Also, what is your read on cyouni?
Cyouni - same thing not cutting that wall.
I would say that since Vi said "I'm sure there's a reason for that and it doesn't hold water," that he was accepting there was a reason. Vi is also smart and has been playing this awhile; I'm going to be the had a pretty good idea for the reason for the vote. He then basically said I'm town, get your vote off of me. That's not stonewalling or even suggesting he wouldn't want to work together. He didn't start beating cyan upside the head with a cane declaring blasphemy! He's not even calling him scum now, and has explained his position, and is actively trying to read him going so far as to say he's torn. I'd say in the realm of who is being cooperative, he's sticking with his original intentions, and he just seems baffled about the turn of events. Actually I think my Vi read has just gotten stronger.
As to your second comment. No I think you can and should question whatever you want. I never said that you shouldn't. My problem was that the 'explain' type questions look like busywork alone. There were none of your own thoughts there, and those type questions are super easy to fake as scum. I know you say asking the questions shows your thoughts but they actually don't, especially when 'explain' doesn't demonstrate why you're asking. I feel like we're talking in circles here about this.
And I feel like I don't know what any of your reads are.
Nacho - that might have been an unfair mechanical accusation. I'll hold off on accusing you of being robotic until you sound that way during the day
I'm voting for scum!
His first few posts are all him being Just There.
Every catchup is preceded by a "look at me catching up!"
In #158 he uses the "don't want history to repeat" scumcrutch.
In general his reasons for things are rationalizations instead of inspirations. 158 good example of that.
"Scum will bus because they just saw it work" is a pretty lame idea.
He gets excited about the "obv wouldn't play like last game" because it's free content.
#349 is a long post, but all it does is ask a few questions about things that don't look ye-standard.
Not sure why I'm the only one voting this.

I know I have other things to respond to. I fell asleep in the midst of reading/posting last night so I'll get to that today.

You posted her dodge - and then declared that the answer would be uninteresting.
That isn't actually showing her answering my question as to why she brought it up if it was never part of her interaction with me.

I know you're capable of saying useful things but I don't think this is one of them.
You're defending her on stances she has claimed are not what she was thinking.
It doesn't make sense to me.
I'm sorry but I've lost interest in explaining this to you and don't intend to return to the topic unless it becomes important for some reason.
Because shiny. And the only adorable thing he's said is "scum will not evade me". Then recently made a post which basically said "everyone can be scum".
I want to see him trying to figure the game out. I haven't seen that yet.
I'd have liked this a lot better if you'd said this before I said I liked dyh.
I will admit to not really knowing everything that's going on yet.
For example:
When is the deadline?
Nope!
Not even close bub.
Yes, it was.
I never said you had to have everything figured out. I said it didn't look like you were going through the process of figuring it out.
I don't know when deadline is; there's not one stated, but that last game I played here didn't have one as long as there was activity unless the players asked for one.
Voxx - if you ever check in I'd love for you to explain your suspicion on descoures. <------ actually any mtgser would be good here, it's just that in the last game voxx was able to read him based on recent scum experience.
DYH - since you get early reads, who do you think is scum besides kami?
VOTE COUNT 6!
Vierni (3) - Cyan, Thor665, Kami of Lunacy
Kami of Lunacy (2) - DYH, desCoures
Cyan (2) - Nachomamma8, Iso
llamarble (2) - Vierni, Tammy
Iso (1) - llamarble
Not Voting (2) - Cyouni, Voxxicus
With 12 still alive, it takes 7 to lynch! Day One "deadline" is November 19.
It has come to my attention I have not informed the players about deadline related stuff in the OP. I've just edited it with that info and will be reminding you guys at each votecount from now on, thanks for your patience.
Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
I support the Llama wagon now.
Basically they said it was a playstyle tell but got a little mushy mouthed about it.
I personally decided they weren't willing to speak with any authority on it and thus the whole tell is meaningless and proceeded to ignore it.
Why does he sound townie? Why doesn't it sound like bussing? Why did you stop your own efforts?
He's pumping up your ego in order to call you scum?
I can't say I know what you're seeing in the first place.
The V/LA means it's probably not much of a point at all. Does Iso usually lurk as scum?
I can't say I understand why you scumread Kami in this post. Is it because she said Vi played badly when he totally didn't?
This flash of paranoia mid-tunnel was more reassuring than it should have been.
What makes you feel like he's believing in what he's saying other than the persistence?
I don't like his push on Kami.
It couldn't be any more different? How so?
That's usually her default mode.
"Coasting" is an odd word for what Tammy's been doing.
On Iso, you mean?
Are you around now?
Anyhow, I'll get to the useful place.
Fair enough, I guess.
I'd be worried about an Iso/Cyan scumteam, too, if I were town in such a scenario! Unfortunately, I've never had the fortune of being scum with Cyan.

@Nacho: I can show you my postcount in various games as different alignments, if you'd like.

I really need to reread the game, which won't even begin to happen before tomorrow/Friday.
Nacho - I'll respond to you after work, but why do you feel so mechanical?
Also, silly boy, it's a school night. Of course I wasn't around that late
Because you apparently seem to think I can't question a point that I agree with to find the motivation behind it. Ironically, this came up in the last game.
Hm.
@Thor: What makes his reasons to suspect you "talking out of the side of his mouth"?
That first sentence reads really oddly.
I'd really like to hear how "Cyan votes are good" vs "don't know why Iso's a townread" seems to make Iso scum over Cyan.
Why can't scum go "****, no one's listening to me"?
Or rather, why do you believe it's more likely to come out of town than scum?
I'm noting this down because I remember I had something in mind when I quoted it, but I can't remember what it is.
Why would you say this is the case?

I never said they were (I did say I thought it was really bad and silly as a push that Vi is now claiming destroyed her urge to interact with me)
I said that her inability to give a straight answer as to what she was thinking when and why is talking out of both sides of her mouth.
What is your take on all of that?
Because she's been coasting since like Page 5...?
Just got out of meeting - I should be able to continue playing, though I'll still be busy. Will be home later tonight and hopefully catch up then or in morning, depending on just how late.
Sorry for inconvenience.
It's really, really hard not to sound mechanical when it's 2 am on a school night and I'm playing mafia on my girlfriend's laptop and trying not to wake her up while I do so. I occasionally have inspired moments, but that wasn't one of them.
RL excuses. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
This readslist is almost a mirror to my own, minus DYH legitness.
Also, was llama scum in #YOLOville and/or White Flag?

In yoloville, Nacho was scum but Llamarble (and me!) were town.

I'll hold off on accusing you of being robotic until you sound that way during the day
His first few posts are all him being Just There.
