kaburi's weird NOT CALLING VOID SCUM post. What I didn't notice before was this: "I'm still not getting a scum read on Teia, and I'm not comfortable lynching her just yet." How often do you feel comfortable lynching someone you don't have a scum read on? +s http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showpost.php?p=10552541&postcount=411
I don't get why you think it's weird. I was making it a point to call out Void on his blatant misreading of Teia by being uber explicit with my statements to keep him from "misreading" them. In that post, I was not accusing him of being scum, just saying that his post was questionable because of how he was "misreading" Teia's statement and that I couldn't tell if I was getting a legitimate scum read or if it was being blinded by his posting style.
To be completely upfront, I've got a personal problem with some of the things Void said in this game and the way he said them. I decided it would be better to save that particular conversation for the postgame discussion, because it really touched a nerve with me and I didn't want this to become the debacle that was MM6. 411's shouting was me being passive-aggressive about it despite my better judgement.
(I've lost my temper about that same issue a couple of times since (see my recent post @KK, or when I admitted I was intentionally being offensive by saying Void could go play a different game "up to his standards"). I apologize for being so emotional this game. )
(Also, now that Void's been confirmed as scum, I think his posting style was a scum tactic, but again that's a conversation for postgame.)

I'm in the post game.
You can ask anyone from the Mafia subforum here. It's my playstyle. Everyone has an issue with me when they first play a game with me, but then they realize "Oh, it's Void being Void". I didn't mean for anything to come across as perosnal and I'm sorry if did it come across that way.
ria - Who is giving you a stronger scum read out of myself and kaburi at the moment?
You, easily.
Going into my re-read I had a gut town read on kaburi but a blank for you. kaburi's scummiest post might legitimately be not knowing what to do with Void; yours I'm having a harder time seeing any townie in. Also, you have played in several games, while this is kabab's first game that he's not having his hand held.
You're going to NK me, aren't you
In that case, I better lay these things out too –
you drop an RVS on KK, then V/LA for 24 hours, excusing yourself from the rest of the RVS. What need is there to V/LA for a 24 hour period?
You ask Wheat to explain his early vote on Teia, saying you don't like naked votes. Not much later when your RVS probe on Teia turns up nothing, you toss a naked vote on Iso.
Somehow you conflate Jay saying "'good' pokémon" with meaning über pokémon rather than townies. Teia even underlines the idea that Jay is being medium-sized, but you're in role spec land.
KK calls you out in 222, then suggests you should hammer hans, which you call OMGUS – so you still think KK is scum here, & even though you've moved your vote to Iso & then hans, you are trying to paint KK's actions here as scummy (there's plenty on KK to pick at, this was not one of them). I suspect this is your angry reaction to being bussed Day 1.
Your next post you declare KK town because meta. You miss kaburi & I on your T/S list, explaining it's because we have so few posts, then declare kaburi town.
ToDay you play when Wheat shows up remorseful for carrying out exactly what he said he'd do. Then rather than analyze what's just happened, you try to catch Wheat out on his reads.
You V/LA then hop on Void's already-in-claim-range wagon, while expressing suspicion-maybe-yes-no of Wheat.
You express suspicion of KK again, & have a back & forth where you call semantics on KK's cagey barn post of Void. KK's wagon happens, & when you come back you say you're wary of the wagon because you "find it hard to believe scum would. . ." offer poisoned wine.
The reason I asked was because you're one of the players I've struggled to get a solid read on all game and I saw an opportunity to get more info out of you.
because reading theseposts was too time-consuming, I imagine.

How in any way is this scummy?
You set aside your own suspicions & cast aspersion on the KK wagon with a WIFOM argument. There is no evidence you even looked at the things Wheat & I brought up.
I'm willing to hammer again (for the same reason as last week). Should I go forward? It doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere, and all I foresee happening is Blackvise and Ria bickering.
Well, we have until tomorrow night (a little more than 32 hours) so we should probably at least wait a day to see if anyone else has something to contribute.
I'm busy with getting ready to go back to school in a week, so don't expect anything from me.

Now I can actually raise the warning flag again, deadline is tomorrow and we now need two votes on Void.
Let's wrap it up and see where we are after the Night.
You will be receiving new images via PM over the next few minutes. Please be reminded of rule 2 of the Game Specific Rules and do not quote this image link.
Noland appeared to have gone on hiatus, so the Pokémon were on their own as to determining the alignment of the one they had singled out.
The five who had cast their votes realized it would be up to them. In turn they each used a flavorless Move against Void, who thrashed in protest. Ultimately, he was defeated.
Using Noland's Pokédex, they investigated him.

So KK barned an impressively bad case with impressively bad reasoning and overly aggressive arguments, only to backpedal and distance himself from/seemingly bus Void once that ship started sinking. Definitely scummy behaviour.
Vote KoolKoal
Time to see your claim.
Also, some vote analysis. I'm going to treat Wheat as confirmed town due to his claim being proven:
hansanator (2): Jay13x, KoolKoal
Iso (1): kaburi
KoolKoal (3): BlackVise, Gerrard's Mom, Wheat_Grinder
BlackVise (1): Arcadic
Gerrard's Mom (1): Iso
Not Voting: hansanator, rianalnn, Teia Rabishu, Void
So from this we can see that KK hopped on the hans wagon, then hopped off, only to hop back on and then off again.
BV voted for KK for a while before switching to Iso and then settling on Wheat alongside Void.
GM and ria seemed to stay off people until the end.
kaburi joined the Wheat wagon and stayed on it.
KK's vote lingered on me until it looked like he realized it was a lost cause.
There's nothing else of note going from the vote counts since the day was more or less Void misplaying and getting lynched.
I know that the vote counts only tell part of the story, but I don't have time to look at intermediary votes (i.e. votes not captured by the vote counts) tonight since I have an event to attend. As it stands, though, KK looks the scummiest so far as a result of this.
Far as the final scum goes, I'm thinking either BV or GM. I'll have to do some further analysis to establish which is more likely. Both ria and kaburi seem like town to me.
I'm volcarona, ability is swarm, move is struggle, both do nothing.
Teia: On day 1, I unvoted hans first to read his other games to get a glimpse of his meta, the second time to put him back to L-2 when someone got cavalier and put him to L-1 early, both legitimate reasons.
As for day 2, lets be fair, I kept my vote on you long after it became clear no one was interested. However, my case on you was never bad, so I don't see how this makes me scummy.

man Jay was playing risky hammering hans, I guess he thought hans's bomb claim wouldn't affect him but it looks like he was supposed to be our protective role
KK should probably be the lynch today, but there's no rush. I'll look back again over the weekend with the Void and Jay information in mind.
Referring to Day 1; I think you mean kababs joined the hanswagon?
Whoops. Typo.
Anyway, KK: What do you think of your case on me in light of Void being scum? Who are your top scum suspects now, and why? Also, do you have nothing to say about the interpretation that your sudden shift on Void (going from listing him to "leaning town" to noticeably going after him within the span of a scant few posts) reads like backpedaling, distancing, and busing?

His role's goal is to die for a more important one, in addition to what ria said.
Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised that that's what happened last Night, given that there was some small suspicion of Jay being bandied about.
Anyway, KK: What do you think of your case on me in light of Void being scum?
I think I was wrong, given that you were Void's first choice of lynch, and I don't see him actively planning on bussing when neither of you were high on scum lists going into that Day.
I still think I made legitimate points in my case, but I'm changing my idea of your meta to more closely match my meta read of BV: "I'll always think (he is/you are) scum no matter the alignment."
Right now, rian, but I also haven't reread the game since Void was revealed. Mostly for stuff already said, but his reread rubbed me the wrong way as well. He only brought up points against 3 people in his entire reread and only against me, kaburi, and BV, the three players it would be easiest to get lynched. He also ignored points that could make these players not scum, such as how I was the first to call BV scum by a wide margin, yet I'm 100% scum in his opinion.
He also does stuff like this a few times: "BV calls KK's push on him OMGUS. This reads like some of the weakest scumbuddy distancing ever. +s" <-Blatantly choosing to interpret something as the scummiest possible motive when there other possible reasons, but he doesn't bring up anything that could get in the way of his future cases.
Doesn't look like a pro-town reread to me, it feels like he decided who his next lynch candidates were and then farmed reasons to call them scummy.
I'm still unsure of GM, but my memory says he was the first to attack Void's case on Teia. If that's right, he would likely be town. Definitely have to reread to get a better idea on that one.
Quote from Teia »
Also, do you have nothing to say about the interpretation that your sudden shift on Void (going from listing him to "leaning town" to noticeably going after him within the span of a scant few posts) reads like backpedaling, distancing, and busing?
It's not any of those things. But saying that it looks like it just means you're choosing to look at it as scummy when there are other possibilities. Doesn't what I said at the time also make sense? That Void's insistence that he was right in his use of the word ability proved he hadn't looked at his role pm recently, thus falseclaim? Deciding outright that it was scummy is just indulging in confirmation bias.
Also, while I was looking back over ria's reread, I saw I missed a question:
Iso suddenly declared Void town after one of his large quote-wall posts. I didn't really see why, but Iso's supposedly better than me at reading Void, so I kept it in mind. Then Void started pushing on the people I thought were scum, so I cemented him as town in my mind.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
Wheat: Still not getting your point, if you have one (not snarky, just wondering). I wasn't as sold as Jay as other people were on Day 1, but his sharp catch on the false claim made it pretty clear he was town, and paying more attention than the rest of us. There's no way to tell if he was the NK or if he saved someone as far as I know. I don't know what kind of argument it is to say that Jay is not town because you said he is town. Are you suggesting that Teia (and others?) were trying to keep suspicion on Jay despite his very towny behavior?
KK: Addressing several of your points, I did question why Void was only questioning Teia right at the start of Day 2, and then I was first voting him after he actually made his large post "casing" her. This also ties into interesting points on kaburi. My vote on Void was partially spurred by how strange it was that kaburi called out valid points about Void's unconvincing posting style and then yelled that he wasn't calling Void scum. That post was the only big +scum for kaburi point that I recall ATM. KK, is there a difference to you between "easy to lynch" (in regards to ria's reread) and just "scummy?"
If you have specific +town points for kaburi and BV (or yourself) that you want to bring up to refute ria's claims, go ahead. I'll keep it in mind when I reread next as well.
The only reason I think BV is town is what I mentioned in my t/s list yesterday. He went against the overwhelming mob-mentality that both void and I were scum, when sitting back and agreeing with the crowd would allow him to watch me get mislynched. This won't mean much to anyone else until my alignment is confirmed though.
And I'm not saying they can't be scum, but the way ria wrote that reread was not townie. He gave everyone town points exclusively except for the scumspects he pulled from it and the moment someone got scum points for anything, scum points were all they got for the rest of his posts, no matter the contortions he had to do to make them fit.
As for why kaburi is one of the easy targets, its more down to process of elimination than anything he's done. Teia's practically confirmed town by Void's case on her, GM started the push back on Void, Wheat is Vig who hit who he said he would, which leaves kaburi and BV, both of whom are a little on the lurky side (which kaburi was as well in his first game, as town) plus both have made sketchy posts (though, that's BV no matter the alignment, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with kaburi) and me, the popular wagon.

He had a pretty blatant townslip but a lot of people did not accept it as such. The townslip was that he asked if the scum knew each other in mafia.
Actually someone did the math once, longer days favor scum. So there is a cost.

Special thanks to Serrot_29 for Catbug'mrakul!
EWP: Same questions to kaburi, actually, now that I look back over the day.

With 7 alive, it's 4 to lynch!
Two other people should copy/paste that.
The gamestate is essentially one of two ways in my head and KK's flip determines that.
Taking your time doesn't cost you a thing.
I may do some rereading to better flesh out the other possible gamestate before toMorrow, but I have things I've got other things that need working on.
