I've been meaning to get back into writing and hosting a game. With that in mind, I'd like to ask which of these setups people would like me to finish first - a game designed top-down from flavour, but which consequently I cannot quite promise *cough cough* balance with, or a semi-open setup with revealed rolenames that uses a kind of points system?
Flavor please. Without the U of course :-P. Balance is overrated.
Iso, do minis need to be reviewed or something now? I have the game tentatively designed, so what do I need to do to get on the list?
All games need to be reviewed by 2 people. But if your setup is done, I can add you to the list. Flavor, # of players, and something about the game that would draw people in?

The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.

Not enough info. What flavor?
Like, if it's War and Peace Mafia, or something incredibly obscure like My Favorite Animae Mafia, I'd vote for the Points thing.
You would like the points thing.

Axelrod has been lynched.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.

Eh. The flavour game would be Puella Magi Mafia. The semi-open setup would be an original setup tentatively named Apprentice Mafia. Further, I should clarify, said 'points' doesn't mean something like from Points Mafia, but rather one where most abilities will require 'mana points'.
Oh, and also, the flavour game's preliminary setup includes two unlynchable and unkillable neutrals.

Per Xyre's request/judgment, adding myself to the list of people who can authorize others to become reviewers.
Hmm?
Iso, I think we're perfectly fine with you being a reviewer, and keeping track of volunteers who want to pitch in on the various hosting lists. However, the council has (so far) reserved to itself the ability to add people in. Xyre's one of our best hosts, obviously, and a respected member, but I'm a little hard pressed to understand how you would think he could authorize you as secretary to have additional powers? (Air quote "Powers")
We'd be happy to hear any suggestions you might have, and I wouldn't anticipate a tremendous fuss, but I'm not sure where this is coming from.

Am I forgetting something we did like five years ago or something??? Senior moment?
EDIT: I seem to dimly recall talking about setting up a standard test for reviewers, and that you (Xyre) had something to do with that, but I didn't recall hearing anything further about that. I can't imagine I would have any problem with you adding people to the lists, although conceivably I would start balking at the point that you wanted to give other people the ability to also add people.

Nah, what happened was when Iso created the new thread, he assumed I was the contact person for that and just wrote it in, and I figured what the hell, I can do that.
I don't care who does it, but I'm leaving the forum some time in August, so somebody's going to need to take over then. If you have someone in mind, I'm all ears.
Ok, gotcha. I think Iso must have merged the notifications of "authorized reviewers" and "reviewers", which were written slightly differently in past versions of this thread. Previously, I believe the notice suggested that you go through a council member if you wanted to be an authorized reviewer, which is a term of art that applies specifically to people who are experienced enough to review FTQ games, or who are automatically authorized to review because they have had a game successfully be admitted to the FTQ, and that all the other requests should go through you, or the council as your backups.
I certainly don't have any beef with any of the choices on the list you forwarded. I'll restore the original wording on the OP to reflect our intent.
My intent was to create a list of players who were "authorized to review" (either through the discussion we had last year about who should be allowed to review/updating the reviewer list or granted permission by Xyre/the Council [specifically per the discussion we had]) to make it clear that those were our recommended reviewers over players who had simply hosted a game or two before.

Hmm. That's basically the system we're shooting for, yes. I would say that we probably should go ahead update our list to include additional people, like Zindabad and KCC, if they want to take that on, since the list once again could use some updating.
Actually, considering the change, if the Council members don't mind the extra work, I think I'd prefer to take my name down for authorizing reviewers, to get ahead of the change-over and consolidate information. It's probably easier to just go back to where things were.
I'll finish up with the one reviewer still before me, and then you guys can take over.

Cyberspace Mafia has ended with a Town victory. The game will be moving to the forum shortly with the full rules and setup for your viewing pleasure.
Unfortunately, we will not be running the same setup again, despite the huge initial interest. This is due to losing potential players as replacements and spectators, some unfortunate design flaws, and an overall somewhat tepid reception to the fundamental mechanics of the game. We won't rule out a "Cyberspace II" if people like the sounds of a tweaked rule set, but it is not our current priority.
Apologies to anyone who was holding out for it being rerun.
Cythare was replace due to non-response to prod, Ced395 was replace on request and Raging Levine was replaced after barely keeping up with the game, and taking too long to post after too many prods.
I would like to sign up to host the following game:
