I don't see why Seppel would block you; you're removed from the game when you get the ring so that's in scumSeppel's best interests to have less votes floating around.
Dude. I have been calling for Wessel's lynch for the very reason that it's possible scum could roleblock him.
After stepping back and thinking about it for a moment, we should probably lynch Voxx first, in the slim chance that Stardust isn't mafia.
I'd also like DYH to prove his ability. I've been thinking about why he backed off of me and I don't particularly understand it. Or why he jumped right back on me.
@DYH: What about my explanation (which I'm almost positive I had already explained) made you back off?
Then you come out and claim that you can't be killed (which only makes sense if Wessel is Gollum and does kill Ring-bearers), yet that completely steps on the toes of my untargetability/bodyguard-ish/doc abilities. Your claim isn't real because I'm the protective role.
I just saw JOAT with an unverifiable story. Didn't even occur to me that all your abilities are protective (especially considering your lie about the double-vote). JOAT with only two abilities? What the hell is that? I guess you can consider my claim a CC then, though who knows what that means with three investigative roles in the game.
Xyre's #658 and #659 spoke to me. Just because I didn't post about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I led the charge on Cyouni. Stardust posted a case but didn't vote, yet you've somehow made me out to be the bad guy.
I guess I didn't catch this the first time, but this is basically a lie. I led the charge on Cyouni. I had already voted him before I made a case, and that's when votes started coming. If you want to go further back, Xyre started everything. You had nothing to do with it other than jumping on his wagon. I'm not sure if this is just ignorance or deception, but I'll certainly have my eye on you once I get time to reread this beast.
You know what, I had this basically typed up since 9:15, but had to leave it to go to work. Now that Seppel's jumped on Voxx instead of wanting to clear this dichotomy, I think I'll just
and okay so you voted Cyouni first, very minor point since I voted him first after votes were reset
oh snap
You're pushing for my lynch and saying absolutely nothing (that I've seen) about Voxx, when, even with PoE from your perspective, it should be Voxx and me.
In other words, your decision to vote me over Voxx makes no sense.
Or if you have read the recent development and think otherwise, please do enlighten us.
Okay, the coffee high seems to be passing. There's no reason to worry about Wessel, since, even if he's lying about what his role does, we can't stop him. Moving on:
A situation like this (me, Voxx, Stardust) came up just recently in a game offsite. Five players were left alive, and the mafia was narrowed down to either players X and Y; or players X and Z.
Player Y and Player Z kept arguing that each other was scum, then player S(eppel) said, "hey, you guys, using PoE, both of you should come to the conclusion that player X is scum. Vote Player X." Player Y was completely against the idea, and player Z was for the idea. Eventually they finally came to reason and we lynched player X who flipped scum. In the end, we had a remaining PR to show that player Y was the other scum.
And now the same situation is here before us, except I'm player Z this time. Player Y is Stardust, and player X is Voxx.
Of course, I came in here blazing at Stardust, thinking, "ha, you're not the protection role, I am," and that was clearly not the right way to go about the case. The above, however, is exactly correct.
Since DYH is really the one who determines the lynch, I want to address this to him, personally:
@DYH: If you have any doubt that Stardust is mafia, please lynch Voxx instead, since (barring any bizarre situations involving, say, a Zindabad godfather) Voxx is scum via PoE from everyone's perspective.
Also, I'd like it if DYH didn't have to use his shot, so Unvote, vote Voxxicus.
Do you reckon? What gives you the impression that DRey tried to shoot you last night?
No extra death. I was the top of DRey's scumlist Day 2, so I figured it was likely his shot had been aimed at me once there was no extra body.
You know, another possibility could be that DRey was a one-shot, you aren't reading the game, and that you are scum.
Voxxicus is town as the day is long.
We lynch scum-Stardust, Wessel targets Zionite (if anything funny happens there, we lynch Wessel), we lynch the final scum tomorrow. I'm ready to end the day. Apologies WoLG.
Despite the Seppel implosion, I agree that Stardust is the better lynch.
Wessel/Stardust still makes the most sense as the scum team if you ignore roles in a vacuum, but that play would have just delayed the inevitable. So Wessel is probably telling the truth, barring the 'scum rolecops WoLG and sees that he's neutral, hence Caex's D2 statement'.
But in that world Stardust is scum with Wessel anyways, so whocares.jpg.
For what it's worth, Seppel and Stardust are probably both scum fakeclaiming protective roles, in the hopes that town doesn't have one, and one of them emerges through 'cleared'.
No dice.
Let's lynch Stardust.
I'll jail either Seppel or DYH tonight.
Zindabad was obviously my target last night, given his 100% reversal on my alignment. We spent most of the day talking, and we're positive each other is town, even outside of Zionite's cop check.
I jailed Caex N1, because I thought I'd talked Drey into saving his shot until N2. If Drey had been town and trueclaiming, the jail would have had no effect (as he claimed unprotectable and unblockable), so it seemed like a risk-free play.
I feel bad for wasting Drey's vig, but whatever. I wasn't anticipating him going off on a whim, and I was convinced that Xyre was scum after Cyouni's flip.
Oops.
I fakeclaimed vanilla D1 because I'm an arrogant punk and figured I could talk my way out of the lynch without having to out myself.
The reason I was so opposed to the mass claim was that it'd pinpoint me directly as having to be the town lying, but at this point I think it's worth revealing.
Probably jailing Seppel, as I think he's more likely scum of the two.
If a kill happens tonight, and Wessel is still alive, then well. We lynch Wessel.
If a kill happens, Wessel leaves game (and Stardust flips scum), then DYH is our remaining scum.
If Stardust flips /town/ then it's some combination of Seppel/Wessel/DYH and I'll flip a coin between jailing DYH/Seppel.
I just can't see how Voxx's reaction to DRey not getting a kill through would be anything else but "Caex was lying" and a vote. Instead he started analyzing my claim.
That may be, but it doesn't answer why he didn't instantly know that Caex was scum when DRey said his kill was blocked. He should have known that Caex was lying about being unprotectable and had an "a-ha" moment but that never happened.
That may be, but it doesn't answer why he didn't instantly know that Caex was scum when DRey said his kill was blocked. He should have known that Caex was lying about being unprotectable and had an "a-ha" moment but that never happened.
A jailer doesn't actually protect his target, he just stops anyone else from targeting him. It makes perfect sense to target Caex with the jail effect since it blocks him if he's scum and helps him if he's town (since he claimed unblockable.) Actually, I'd say it was a real masterstroke from Voxx.
That's without even going into that Seppel claimed he redirected the kill away from Caex and onto himself, so really the jailer had nothing to do with Caex still being alive if Seppel is telling the truth. I think you're trying to rationalize Voxx's reaction with the more perfect information re: Caex being scum that we have now, but looking back at his D2 response, it looks completely natural. Not to mention that I know Voxx is the jailer because I've been talking to him all day.
@Zionite - I didn't even post on D2 prior to Caex self-hammering, was busy with work. Why are you implying that I expressed doubt that Caex was scum on D2, when...I didn't? I realized immediately that it meant Caex was scum, just didn't have time to post until he was run up quickly, you brought him to L-1 and he was hammered.
@Seppel - There is a town jailer, sadly for you. You'll be jailed tonight, so you can't make the mafia kill. Sad times.
Can't copy/paste QT logs as per AI, but can paraphrase, and Zindabad can confirm: There was just an explanation of why targeting happened (He was confirmed town and a likely NK target, if mafia chose to try and dodge 'protection' on Zionite. He also had a scum read on me on D1 mostly due to replacement things, that I wanted to clear up, so he could re-evaluate), we dumped our reads and talked about the game, and came to the agreement that it was fairly simple PoE - 2 scum in the Wessel/Stardust/Seppel/DYH cluster. He believed more strongly in Seppel/DYH, I believed more strongly in Wessel/Stardust.
Recently we've agreed that Wessel is probably telling the truth, but that there exists the possibility that he's scum and WoLG is neutral. If Wessel doesn't remove himself from the game tonight, he'll be dealt with tomorrow.
Nothing earthshattering, but Zinda's town, I'm town, and scum reside in the Wessel/Stardust/Seppel cluster.
Barring DYH (mostly Kpaca) or WoLG playing an amazing scum game, I guess.
This coming from the guy who just kept going "Have you ever seen a scum governor?" over and over again? That's rich. DYH was town when it suited you, but now that your options are rapidly diminishing, all he's got going for him is his claim. Yeah, OK.
Seppel seems to be just looking for a target at the moment. WoLG is off the menu, so he moved on to Voxxicus, but then he claimed, so DYH is the latest to come under fire. Wessel was also in there as well. I'd say he was trying to avoid having to vote for his scumbuddy for a while, but then gave up on Stardust and began trying to prepare the way for a possible mislynch tomorrow.
It took several hours for the dwarves to wipe their eyes and pick up their axes once more. They hunted the orcs with grim determination, catching up to them by a nearby stream. The battle was fierce and bloody, with neither side giving ground. Stardust raised his massive mace and began crushing plate and shield alike. The dwarves struggled to hold the line, but the pale orc merely laughed as his attacks decimated their defenses. As the tide seemed to be turning in the orcs' favor, a swift strike in the back of the head knocked Stardust out cold. Seeing their leader defeated, the remaining orcs scattered. The dwarves, relishing their victory, declined to give chase. They had an orc lord's head to put on a pike.
Stardust has been lynched.
Azog the Defiler, Mafia Juggernaut
Passive - Juggernaut (Whenever you target another player, you can't be killed this Night.)
Thorin, son of Thráin II, grandson of Thrór. Dwarf-scum. You will take his head as you took the old King's. This company of pathetic vagrants will crash and break like waves upon the shore. The wargs will enjoy feasting on their corpses. They will not escape. Their journey ends now.
It is now Night Three.
Night Three will end no later than 11:59PM EST, Saturday, May 18th.
Please send in Night actions as soon as possible and inform me if you have an optional Night action you do not wish to take.
In the chaos surrounding Azog's death, Bilbo had slipped and fallen into the stream, knocking his head against a large rock. As his finger was toying with the Ring at the time, it slipped onto his finger as he fell. None of the dwarves, preoccupied as they were with celebrating the defeat of the Pale Orc, noticed as their burglar drifted steadily downstream.
"Filthy hobbitses."
Bilbo came to with a jerk. He searched his surroundings frantically, and found himself once again by the lake under the Misty Mountains, where the stream must have emptied. But where was Sting? And where was the Ring?
"Thief Baggins."
Bilbo became dreadfully afraid. He couldn't see the foul creature known as Gollum, but he was certain that it could see him. He tried to perk up his ears, but he could hear nothing, save the dripping of water in the cavern.
"Is it nice, my Precious? Is it juicy? Is it scrumptiously crunchable?"
A stray pebble betrayed Gollum's presence, and Bilbo turned swiftly to face his attacker. Gollum's hands found Bilbo's throat, the Ring burning impossibly hot against the hobbit's skin as his life was choked out of him.
Bilbo was not the only casualty of the Night. As Day broke, a keen screech alerted the lookout. When the company rushed to the source of the sound, they found DYH, dying from multiple stab wounds. The proud eagle directed his piercing gaze at a dwarf, then gestured at his axe. Understanding the silent motion, the sorrow-stricken dwarf approached DYH.
"Please forgive me. May your soul rest in peace, noble one."
The mercy killing was swift. Paying their respects, DYH's squadron flew in circles above their fallen lord. The few remaining members of the company eyed each other wearily. There was not much time left, and the deaths must end. One way or another.
Zionite and DYH have been killed.
Wessel has achieved his win condition and left the game.
Bilbo Baggins, Town Ring-bearer Cop
One-Shot - Investigate (Investigate if another target player is mafia or non-mafia.)
{One Ring}: Passive - Ascetic (You can't be targeted by non-killing abilities.)

While trapped in that dank pit with that foul creature, you were quite sure that you would be eaten for afternoon tea. Luckily for you, you managed to use a pretty little ring to escape and rejoin the company. Sting can detect lurking foes, but you'd really rather steer clear of them.
Gwaihir the Windlord, Town Governor
One-shot (Day) - Governor (Message the host within 12 hours of a hammer vote to prevent that lynch and reset the vote count. That player can't be lynched this Day. You can't prevent your own lynch.)

Seek the Precious (Kill target player and reclaim {One Ring} if player has {One Ring}. Otherwise, this ability does nothing. This ability can't be prevented.)
You win and leave the game after reclaiming {One Ring}(even if you are dead).
Must have The Precious. They stole it from us. Baggins says we can eats it whole, but cheats us with riddles! Hobbitses are trickers and liars! Gollum gollum. Thief Baggins! Curse it and crush it! We hates it forever!
It is now Day Four.
With 4 alive, it takes 3 votes to lynch.
Day Four will end no later than 11:59PM EST, Thursday, May 30th.
Confirm that, Voxx? What was your night action, Seppel? Anything to report, WoLG?
Other than talking to Iso, I don't do anything. I'm in the process of a re-read to look at all the claimed night actions and figure things out.
I'm leaning Seppel because he's been basically trying to push bad logic and has been inventing reasons to lynch me. But I'm hoping that Voxx can help figure that out while Seppel is in jail.

Zinda is cleared by the cop.
Seppel is cleared by being jailed last night and the mafia kill going through.
WoLG is cleared because he is a town mason that isn't neutral gollum.
I'm fairly certain that the last mafia is allowed to use it's night abilities as well as preform the last kill. Waiting to hear back from asian on that to be sure, but that leaves PoE down to Voxx. Even Zionite was on to Voxx yesterday.
He jailed Caex to save him from DRey's vig shot.
He jailed Zinda because Zinda was cop cleared town and he wanted to possibly block a town power role.
He jailed Seppel because Seppel was a claimed power role.

Game-Specific Rule:
All abilities are Night abilities unless otherwise stated. Players can only activate one ability per Day/Night phase unless otherwise stated. Aside from me, we have nobody listed who can activate one ability per Day/Night phase.
Ergo, I believe that the mafia can use more than one ability at a time, which explains why Voxx could kill and jail at the same time.

Bilbo Baggins, Town Ring-bearer Cop (Beware! {One Ring} is an item that can be taken by other players. If you are killed, the player who kills you will obtain {One Ring}. If you are lynched, the player who places the hammer vote will obtain {One Ring}.)
While trapped in that dank pit with that foul creature, you were quite sure that you would be eaten for afternoon tea. Luckily for you, you managed to use a pretty little ring to escape and rejoin the company. Sting can detect lurking foes, but you'd really rather steer clear of them.
Gwaihir the Windlord, Town Governor You have known Gandalf for many winters. Ever since the wizard saved you from a poisoned arrow, you have faithfully aided him as necessary. You have no love for orcs or goblins, and resolve to put your wings to good use, whether by rescuing an ally or dooming a foe.
Gollum, Neutral Hitman Must have The Precious. They stole it from us. Baggins says we can eats it whole, but cheats us with riddles! Hobbitses are trickers and liars! Gollum gollum. Thief Baggins! Curse it and crush it! We hates it forever!
With 4 alive, it takes 3 votes to lynch.
Day Four will end no later than 11:59PM EST, Thursday, May 30th.
Voxx jailed me. HI VOXX.
Unless Voxx can kill and jail at the same time or Zindabad is a Godfather, PoE says it's WoLG.

"...a talisman against all evil, so long as you obey me."
Wait a tic...

Look at how many activated abilities everyone has:
Now take a look at the mafia:
Notice how they have no activated abilities listed.
Now take a look at this line from the OP:
Aside from me, we have nobody listed who can activate one ability per Day/Night phase.
Ergo, I believe that the mafia can use more than one ability at a time, which explains why Voxx could kill and jail at the same time.
